1. Oh yes, I have been many times to both Edison and Florence Lakes and enjoyed also going to Mono Hot Springs. I visited the Massage Therapy building there several years ago. Amazing, devotees so close and not realizing it. Not too far from the ranger station at the turn off of Huntinton Lake Road to Florence and Edison Lakes is a wonderful group campground that I have always wanted to organize a gathering of devotees at. Everytime I would go by there I could almost hear the sweet sounds of the Lord Names rising to the heavens.
2. you are taking a wonderful step forward in your spiritual growth. The best advice tho that you have received on this thread is from Prta when she advises to keep you bank account to yourself. Side note: where in the Sierra Nevadas were you a mule packer? I worked for years up at Huntington Lake running several different resorts there. We may have crossed paths at some point in time. I used to see many of the pack station personnel around and would hike up to some of the pack stations.
3. under the clutches of Maya so we are always in a state of anxiety and fear - job or no job - that is how it is for us fallen souls. Practice makes perfect. Start with just a few rounds a day and work up as you are able. Take heart - all of us go through this.
4. one of your godbrothers that a group of us was talking with got extremely agitated and he said to me, "YOU ARE A SINNER. YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE!!!!", when I said that I did not consider Srila Prabhupada to be "dead". But when we asked him why he was so upset about that he either could not or would not answer. Perhaps you can clear this mystery for me. Why am I am sinner because I do not consider Srila Prabhupad to be "dead"? and What is "one of those" in relation to not considering Srila Prabhupada "dead"?
5. and there was no reply but as a disciple you should know the answers to these simple questions and would want to gladly proclaim the pastimes of your guru. Out of three disciples that were asked these same questions (you are number three)- none had the answers. BTW...I did not ask how many books he has sold...I only asked about what was stated in the description of the one book.
6. you do not know the answers? These are really quite simple questions. 1. What was your guru's name when he was a brahmacari in ISKCON? 2. What years was he the head book distributor? 3. What years was he head of the Mayapur BBT? 4. Who was his initiating guru in ISKCON? and: I had also noted on your guru's website the list of books he has written. One of these books was described as having been written to create interest in Srila Prabhupada's "Sri Caitanya Caritamrta". Excuse me....can you please explain this for me?
7. too funny. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif I hate urban legends. I fall for them all the time. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
8. which is sadder. The fact that this story is true or the fact that I am sitting here laughing about it. /images/graemlins/blush.gif
9. begins with the chanting of the holy names.
10. I had also noted on your guru's website the list of books he has written. One of these books was described as having been written to create interest in Srila Prabhupada's "Sri Caitanya Caritamrta". Excuse me....can you please explain this for me?
11. I don't care what your guru teaches. If he opens your heart to Krsna then it is a good thing...right? What I do care about is this...and I am having to repeat it over again so that perhaps this time you will read it....your guru has started his own method and it is not Prabhupada's method yet he insist on putting Prabhupada's pictures and quotes on his website in order to make people believe that it is Prabhupada's teachings. That is what I care about....your guru is using Prabhupada to attract followers even tho his teachings are not Prabhupada's. BTW....not sure if the quotes were changed back or not but some of Prabhupada's quotes that were used on the site had been changed to reflect your guru's teachings. Several of us wrote to the site and very loudly complained about this so perhaps they were removed by now. I do not desire to look to find out... We also asked some questions of your guru but never received a response. Perhaps you would be so kind as to answer them for us... 1. What was your guru's name when he was a brahmacari in ISKCON? 2. What years was he the head book distributor? 3. What years was he head of the Mayapur BBT? 4. Who was his initiating guru in ISKCON? There were other questions but it has been a while and I forget now what we asked.
12. contact the MVT and ask them for this info. They probably have a list of other places for devotees to stay.
13. with Prabhupada. He presents Bhagavad Gita As It Is!! Forget the what ifs......
14. Lord Krsna spoke Bhagavad Gita first long before He spoke it to Arjuna and long before it was put into writing. Read Lord Krsna conversation with Arjuna to learn the history of Bhagavad Gita. BTW....there is no compromise for me on the issue as to whether or not Prabhupada gave us Bhagavad Gita As It Is without out speculations etc. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to think of Lord Sri Krishna the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Bhagavad Gita and His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivendanta Swami Prabhupada. Hare Krishna!! Srila Prabhupada ki jai!!!
15. seems I remember some years back that Oprah was into this and because of that it took off big time. Hare Krsna!!!!
16. heh heh I couldn't resist either. LOL.....
17. definitely read his bio when you visit the site.
18. I was chatting last night with someone who had been told by some devotees within ISKCON that his chanting maha-mantra was useless and meaningless since he is not initiated. How did this mis-information get started? It is possible that this person misunderstood what was being said to him. I want to give the benefit of doubt.
19. my friend who is one of your godbrothers enjoys discussing with me the differences in teachings of His guru and Prabhupada. My friend tells me I am much much kinder to him concerning his guru than anyone else he has come across from ISKCON etc. He has been very ill treated by others on some devotee chat rooms such as the ones in Paltalk.
20. look, one of my very good friends is also a disciple of your guru and he does not feel that anything I have said is offensive to your guru. All I said is that if you want to follow Prabhupada then this site might be confusing to you. I do find it offensive myself however, that he uses Prabhupada pictures on his site when his teachings are differing. This has caused much confusion. He also has changed around some of PRabhupada's quotes which has also created confusion for some people. But then this is the way of internet forums....surface read the posts and come in with your dukes flying. LOL....have fun.
