In most civilizations since Ancient times, we could see that relying on Meat dietary have caused extinctions to that civilizations.

 

Animal herding takes too much space and a lot of grass to keep and care for. Goat and cows induce in increasing deserts by destroying the top soil grass in African Continents.

 

In Brazil, Paraquay and Venzuela, miles and miles of forests are being cleared for beef industry, which contributes to Global warming. The fishing industry is slowly killing off the oceans as well.

 

All this and many more such examples are reasons why Humanity should let go of the meat dietary and choose Vegetarian Dietary.

I'll certainly concur with that.

The common mass however, before understanding that, will have to overcome their Slavery to Taste... many are blinded by that.

Explaining that to Zakir & Co. is like filling water in a basket.

You could be surprised to learn that in some earlier civilizations, there are traces of humans eating human remains to survive during harsh times.

As far as I know India, the Ancient India more precisely is the only country which promoted the concepts of Sacrifice [Diet] when needed for the sake of principle:

Raghukul Reeti sadah Chali ayi, praan jae par vachan na jae.

There were instances where Gandhi showed his determination even when put into harsh situation but he sticked to the principles, for example FAST TILL DEATH etc.

Or the going through Santhara by Acharya Vinoda Bhave.

All this doesn't point to any divinity at all in these two blokes. Why is it we consider them on par with the Brahman described in upanishad?

What it seems in appearance is not necessarily the same in substance.

In the World today, a lot of people do not care about Spiritualism and being closer to God. All they care is to be allowed in some "group" (become groupie as they called) and they will walk around, stating how they are "enlightened" for being in that group.

 

You ask people to work hard, meditate hard and suffer a little to get closer to God, and you will find this people turn around and find another group which "sells" Spiritualism for a better price.

hi im just being honest,a few months back i started to take up my religion seriously for the mere benefit of material success because i didnt like how my life was going, before any worship my mind was scattered but since i started doing my daily chants,weekly fasts and prayers despite my situations from day to day i find myslef becoming more focused and deligent towards my goals but im at a point within my ownslef where i feel i want to aquire and achieve more to help benefit my life(both material and spiritual), my question is, ...is it wrong to worship based upon motivation for personal gain? and how can i justify my worship for material gain? and what should be my mind set when worshiping for material gain although i know deep within my real long term goal is to reep the benefits of worshipping Lord Krishna by gaining liberation from this material world. if anyone would like to give me some light on this that would be helpful, thank you,

If the Lord has granted the wish of your desire that like any other Gods then there is nothing special.

But if He got the special Eye on you and decided to grant that special thing for which he is famous for, that our mind in the ignorant stage cannot think of then you are indeed lucky.
