You should because how can we understand ourselves if we don`t study the workings of our bodies? Like, why do we have bowel movements from day to day? What makes our bowels move so we could pass this shit out? Stuff like that. Or why do we get an erection even if we don`t think about it? We are still on earth guys! Be practical. Well Murali, on September 12, 2007, I was driving my 1997 KIA Avella on my way home when suddenly I felt my chest tightened. Then I had a hard time breathing. An hour later, I let my son, Marco Nino, manuever my car to the hospital where he worked. There the resident doctor told me I suffered an acute myocardial (Inferior wall) infarction. I had to stay in the coronary care unit for 2 days and another 2 days in the private room. I had to take a leave of absence from work for 2 weeks. And you`re asking me if I have been taking pills from the clinic`s medical cabinet inside the prison? Maybe it`s the aspirin 80mg once a day and the neobloc(metoprolol) 50mg twice a day which I have been taking for 2 months now that`s causing it!

I earn less that $500 a month. My wife is just plain housewife. And yet I was able to send 3 kids to school. The eldest is now an electronics and communications engineer(Matthew) and the other is a registered nurse(Marco). My youngest, a girl (Melsa) will be going college next year. We want her to take up nursing. I consider myself a rich man not a poor man.

It`s already 1 year and 7 months, the Governor of Cebu gave me an assignment as the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehab Center`s physician who`s tasked to maintain the health of 1,600 inmates. Have you been inside an isolation cell or inside cells where psychotic criminals dwell? I don`t know if it was a punishment the Governor gave me or reward for being the Cebu province`s jail doctor. We maybe arguing or quarreling on some issues guys but what`s important we managed to exchange our ideas with one another. We may not be physically present to discuss this over a bottle of beer, puffing cigarettes, listening to cool music or watching a dvd movie. What matters is we have associated.

I still like being called a Filipino even if I knew I`m not this material body. People need to have an address, you know. Otherwise , we`ll all be lost in this jungle called world!Even a master in the science of Krsna consciousness likes to be called Guru plus the title Maharaj. I liked being called a doctor or an insane person. It won`t matter anyway to the very person whom they are addressed to. We are all part and parcel of the whole. Krsna has expanded into so many of us, each have designations or individual names. Or else we all end up as numbers. If I were a number I`d like to be called # 357. How about you?

I remember I wrote an article in the late 80`s about His Divine Grace that got published in the local daily( Sunstar Daily) in Cebu City, Philippines entitled " The 2nd Coming of Christ." That the people shouldn`t wait for Christ to come back for the 2nd time because he was already here in the name of Abhay Charan de. That he published books like Srimad Bhagavatam in English so we may all be saved. Well, after Ricardo Cardinal Vidal read that story the archbishop had to be rushed to the hospital for a triple heart by-pass surgery. Believe it or not.

His Divine Grace like being called " Swami Jesus" in the book Prabhupad. It was a little girl who said that. And he loved it!

After being saddened. I turned to the internet. And got my first email address(mmabalay@) on November 1999. I had to register because of the Y2K scare. My first contact with Krsna devotees was when I became a forum member of www.iskcondc.com. There I contributed articles on that web site for quite sometime(until the ILOVEYOU virus manifested). It`s a long story because someone bit the dust instead of me. Hahaha! Then this lady from the iskcondc web site invited me to join the forum at the www.indiadivine.com. There I contributed articles from cloning to what have you using different names( matthew, sanatana, krsnaraja etc.) I abandoned the indiadivine forum when I had a quarrel with the web site`s administrator, Jndas. It was something to do with a girl named Dr. jayasriradhey(until the 911 appeared). I managed to seek sanctuary at the www.harekrishnaworld.com. I continued to contribute articles to its forum. Then I had to leave again( when the space shuttle Discovery crashed to pieces when she entered earth`s atmosphere). There is always something tragic that happens each time I start writing again. Now, you know why me and Giridhari Guru Maharaj never met again?

Are we following the blind? Many claim they are masters of the science Krsna. But are they? No need to follow one. Just read the works of the great Acharyas in the caliber of Swami Jesus(Prabhupad). It`s sufficient enough to elevate one to the stage of samadhi or bhakti-yoga. Remember, we are in the Kaliyuga age. There`s always quarrel in every aspect of our discussions. And hypocrisy, too.

In japanese , hara kiri is suicide, right? I always have this feeling that to chant Hare Krsna is a form of committing suicide. Like ending one`s life of materialism and being reborn in spiritualism. As long as we are encaged in this material body, we try killing it every moment each time we chant Hare Krsna. And there`s no doubt about it.

Sleeping is waking up and waking up is dreaming. In the waking up state we are actually sleeping. Like it was a dream. But when we are asleep, we are actually awake. What we call dreaming is reality and what we call waking up is an illusion. See you guys in Goloka Vrndavan when I sleep, okay? or wherever. Hehehe.

The last devotee I talked with maybe of your caliber was Giridhari Guru Maharaj when he was here in Cebu City in the late 90`s. We talked inside his resthouse at the Hare Krsna Paradise in Pagsabungan Road, Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines.I proposed to him that ISKCON contribute a small amount publishing Swami Jesus(Prabhupad) works in the local daily (The Freeman) on a weekly basis. And what did he told me, " Well, Dr. Melvin would you want us to buy the whole paper?". I only smiled and remain silent. You see, I used to have a column in that paper entitled, A Grain of Devotion by Naradadeva Bhagavan. I wrote about Krsna consciousness and The Freeman published them accordingly until they found out I wasn`t initiated into the fold. I was practicing catholicism that time and embracing also Krsna consciousness. After that talk with Giridhari Guru Maharaj, we never heard each other again. I left saddened.

Did I offend you my dear Murali? Well, I apologize. Krsna won`t forgive me for offending a pure devotee like you. But you can forgive and forget, right?
