Thus they`re able to trans- cend Brahma`s phenomenal creations. They ,on account of having their MINDS IMMERSED in LOVE for ME, Who is an Ocean of great JOY, are not OVERWHELMED by ANY of the modification of the GUNAS of Maya. When a great personality passes away, we almost always praise to the hea- vens his exceptional traits and the great contributions he made, whether in theology, arts and sciences, as an ambassador of peace, for the good of man, but not actually having dis- cussed what kind of life he lived while he was still struggling to have his dream become a reality. Yes, correct me if I`m wrong, if I say that Lord Chaitanya is Krishna. Just like calling Jesus is Christ.But while both were still with us 2,001 and 515 years ago, only a few have really considered Jesus and Chaitanya to be GodThemselves. In fact, many called them names. Example, " King of the Jews", etc. If only Swamiji were alive today, I`d never hesitate calling Lord Abhay to be Lord Chaitanya Himself even if he covers his ears and not wanting to hear any of it. Well, it`s better late than never to tell His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami that he is no other than Lord Mahaprabhu Himself. Please forgive me for being such a sen- timental fool.

The branches of medicine,if it was a banyan tree, is entertwined and rela- ted, that one who studies it doesn`t know just where each have taken root, whether upwards or downwards, side- wards and backwards, or whatever that makes a medical student dreamed of being able to perch on one of its branches after having succeeded in climbing the trunk of the banyan tree (medical board exams) itself. There are so many branches of medicine that I can`t seem to make a choice of what particular branch I should build my future nest on. All I know is that I`m a certified family physician, ha- ving earned it in 1995 after attending so many lectures and symposiums where topics, from skin diseases to erectile dysfunction, were discussed. To heal therefore a person with cancer is also part and parcel of Krishna consciousness, similar to saktyavesa- avatar, Jesus Christ, who healed a man with Hansen`s disease, a malady known to everyone as leprosy. In other words, we all need a doctor, whom we could trust to heal our aching muscles and ligaments; do caesarean sections to de- liver a baby which can`t be delivered vaginally; manage a severely dehydrated patient sick with dysentery by giving intravenous fluids so he won`t die of electrolyte imbalance; prescribing and giving intramuscular antibiotics to a patient suspected to have a sexually transmitted disease, like syphillis or gonorrhea; and providing alternative forms of treatment like YOGA to heal a disturbed mind addicted to alcohol, co- caine, diazepams, and amphetamines. If anybody thinks the job of a family physician is easy, then I would suggest to everyone to study medicine and try to pass four years of a pre-med course, another four years of proper-med, one year post-graduate, six months of rural work, and another six months preparing for the board exams. If any teacher of God can do that and still retain his sanity in this chaotic, racist world, then you`ve got it made. Hey, anyone out there who is Guru wants to become a physician? Then follow Jesus` way because the Lord has seen the truth (Krishna) who can give us eternal life.

Indeed I should perhaps let the Maha- Prabhus do the evangelizing in bring- ing back the people home, back to God. I`m so glad you have come to offer to get the job done in my behalf, for I feel it`s my time to move to another chapter in this book of life where I could focus more in what I`ve been destined by God to do in my present life: Improve my skill in practicing the art of medicine. That way, I`d be able to heal as many as possible those who are considered to be very ill. Hence, if I could only find a cure for cancer, HIV/Aids, or poverty that leads to hunger and malnutrition, then maybe, just maybe I could say to myself that I`ve finally conquered the very stumbling block I have crea- ted for myself to succeed in life: PRIDE. I do hope the Lord in His divine mercy, will forgive this egotistic-I and me. Namaste dear reactors, Tarun and Paul. Our source for this discussion is the book: Teachings of Lord Chaitanya,1987 Phil. Edition, which was handed over to me from my childhood friend, Gaura- sundara das(George Martinez)who left for the USA as an immigrant in the ear- ly `90s. I have read it, authored by His Divine Grace, from cover to cover, that I could not track anymore how many times I`ve gone over it. And everytime I open Lord Chaitanya`s book, in what- ever page it`s convenient for me in my search for the Absolute Truth, there`s always, I feel, a fresh message which comes to mind after having read a por- tion of this wonderful book`s contents. How I was able to assimilate Lord Chai- tanya`s teachings, with no one to act as my interpreter and guide in unders- tanding its sublime message is a myste- ry, considering that I had no idea what Hindu religion is all about. All I know is that I was born on Nov. 3, 1957 in the city of Cebu, Philippines. My parents christened me the name of Melvin Garces Mabalay. There even this incident that the Catholic priest hesi- tated to baptize me if I won`t carry the a Christian name. Thus, I earned the name of Melvin Vicente and Garces since the latter is my mother`s(Juliana)maiden name. I have asked my father-physician, Mario Cochiengco Mabalay, Sr., why gave me the name Melvin. His reason is that it carried the letter M and that our el- dest sibling, Mae, and my elder brother, Mario Jr., all carried the letter M;that according to my father, He chose Melvin because he was very fond of reading nov- els and he got my name from a certain character portrayed in those books. I have been practicing catholicism all my life. I studied in a catholic school, Colegio del Sto. Nino, run by priests of the Augustinian Order, until they kicked me out for bad conduct in my 2nd year high-school. As a Catholic, I wor- ship the Sr. Sto. Nino of Cebu and I feel that, as the Patron Saint of Cebu, the Holy Child of Jesus is Lord Govinda Himself. If the truth is in the pudding instead of the icing, then try to visit His shrine,the Basilica del Sto. Nino, located on the island of Cebu, Philip- pines when we celebrate His birthday in January, followed later by a mardi-gras called The Sinulog. It was here that led me to search for Krishna, the Sr. Sto. Nino`s own Image. That`s why I got interested in reading the books authored by His Divine Grace, in order to know more about this wonder- ful and amazing GodChild. As I embarked on the journey, of going home, back to Godhead, it was this episode in time, year 1987, that I started to read,write, and produced articles about Krishna for publication in The Freeman, a local dai- ly newspaper in Cebu City since 1919, that I used Naradadeva Bhagavan as my pen name after the editor, Mr. Juanito V. Jabat, gave me a space to write my views entitled, " A Grain of Devotion," I had no motive to become a servant or guru or something when I started the column be- cause all I wanted was for my fellow Ca- tholic Cebuanos to be aware of the tran- scendental messages of the Krishna Cons- ciousness Movement that was taking place in our midst. That I wanted the Filipino to know a little of the Hindu religion and the eternal philosophical truths it carries because it seemed the Catholic organization, for 480 years, have wanted us to accept Christianity as if she was the only religion that could make a fol- lower, like me, go to heaven. Otherwise, I would go to hell, including my family, if I insist in believing in Karma and the philosophy of Reincarnation, and most of all, in the Krishna Sankirtana Yazna initiated by Lord Chaitanya Maha- prabhu, and later sustained by those great men who believed in his Mission: TO INUNDATE THE WHOLE WORLD WITH GOD CONSCIOUSNESS, HIS LITERATURES, MUSIC, DANCE, MOVES, BOOKS, PRASADAM, ETC. Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was born in Mayapur in the town of Vijayanagara (Nadia), India, on February 18, 1486, Anno Domini. During an eclipse, the Lord was christened by his mother, Sa- ci devi, as Nimai because he was born under the Nimba tree. And Pandita, Ni- mai`s last name since it`s the name of his grandfather, Pandita Nilambara Cakravarti, an astrologer who predic- ted his birth to be auspicious. Gau- ra-hari, the damsels of Vijayanagara call this whimsical and foolish boy, because the Lord sported a golden skin complexion. Visvambhara is also Nimai`s other name and later in his life as Chaitanya since anyone who went to the Bhara- tic School were recognized as such. Lord Chaitanya`s guru was Keshava Bha- rati, a follower of the Sankaracarya sect. Thus, it`s correct to call the Lord Chaitanya Keshava. It was Keshava Bharata who allowed the Lord to continue chanting the Hare Krishna Maha-Mantra because Nimai was foolish and sentimental about it, even if he was Vedanta scholar during his time, and the Lord was criticized and by his peers and enemies alike since he did not join in their group study. In other words, Nimai Pandit never really liked being called as Krishna by his followers and devotees, even if he actually was the Supreme Lord. This precedent should be given cognizance by Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu`s follo- wers if they all wish to follow in his footsteps. It`s the surest way to please the Lord of the Hare Krishna Movement. I don`t have the articles of the The Dos Mundos Spanish-American Treaty, but, luckily, I do have in my hand a slightly dented Dos Mundos Spanish- American silver coin, that was handed from my grandfather, Epifanio, to his eldest son, Mario Sr., my father who taught me the art of Medicine in the school, Gullas College of Medicine, where he taught Pathology and Dermato- logy to our class of 1983. The Doll`s Action and Lines that Fit --- If you dreamed of presenting a simple fairy tale that uses dolls, be sure that somebody who can read between the lines what your dolls are saying while you are managing the strings make them move and talk in a certain way that convey to the audience the message of the story that scares the hell out of those who watch the play as it unfolds before the watchful eyes of those who love to see a hor- ror play portrayed by dolls. Those who therefore like to watch a puppet show on TV are entertained by the cocky antics and jerks staged on the set by puppets the viewers love. For example, Hermit, the Frog, or Miss Piggy, or Bert. But there`s however this horrible doll story which D`UNKNOWN almost did not release it for viewing because its considered to be one of scariest of them all. Aired on Cable TV by your favorite TV-Broadcast Network, it`s a doll story where the world was ghastly entertained by the bizarre creativi- ty of the play set on stage for all to see, without exceptions to those who have weak hearts. Alleged to be orchestrated by Osama Bin Laden`s Doll Company, it does not for the grace of me can fathom how they were able to do it after a group of terrorists hijacked four US commercial airplanes target- ed to smash, precisely, one at a time, into the Pentagon in Washington D.C., The White House where the US President resides, and the Twin Tow- ers of the World Trade Center loca- ted in Manhattan, New York, USA. It is therefore a scary doll story that became a reality after somebody stole the Book of Horrors archived in the enchanted library of fairy- land located somewhere far beyond the sky. In other words, the doll story that was copied from the pages of the book containing the most horrible tales was stolen perhaps by a thief hired by the doll-mastermind who have sold the du- plicate copy to an UNKNOWN SYNDICATE that produces the most horrible sto- ries readers only get to view after those who are interested in bank rol- ling it get to see them first. One of them I know was Adolph Hitler who was delighted to watch The Holocaust, a horrific tale that described how six million of Jews were annihilated in- side the Gas Chambers of Death. The Doll Story therefore is fairytale about a bunch of suicidal dolls who were able to avenge the early demise of their most beloved, Doll Master, who left the world without notice leaving behind his servant dolls stranded for- ever on Earth. The Doll Master have actually promised these dolls, who la- ter became suicidal, that the former would take them to a place where the Supreme Doll resides, once the Doll Master can arranged with the space a- gency a Rocket ship that would take them all to that eternal abode where the Supreme Doll who is called by His Mother, " Damodara" resides together with His eternal playmates who loves to play sincerely with dolls. Unfortunately, the plan did not mate- rialize after the Doll Master`s most trusted dollmaker cut the strings the Doll Master have tied to the arms of his servant-dolls. After these sil- ver strings were severed, it immmedia- tely broke the Doll Master`s fragile heart, a very unfortunate incident because the dollmaker was in a hurry to become the next Doll Master once the Master of the doll kingdom dies as dolls in different sizes and shapes a- wait their turn.Others taken by child- ren who dreamed of playing with dolls even before they were born. When the dollmaker became the chief of all the servant dolls, he therefore wasted no time of trading them for one stupid servant robot from a buyer who hates dolls.N`vermind if the dolls fall into the hands of people who practice witchcraft and voodooism. When the dolls knew they will be taken to the Valley of Eternally Dammned, they therefore made an escape plan by which they were able to do after a year of planning when they boarded an airplane that took them to the land of milk and honey in the guise of being the pilots and navigators themsel- ves of that plane There the dolls set on stage a plan to hijack four airplanes lying idly on one of the several airports in the land of milk and honey. Thus on that fateful day of September 11, 2001, these suici- dal dolls were able to slam and smash the planes into the New Rock City`s most famous Twin Towers housing the One World Trade Center, and a building de- signed like a Pentagon that housed the most sophisticated intelligence equip- ments known to dollmankind, an act OK`d by the Master when the dolls who have nothing to lose found the dollmaker and Co. holding money-making ventures in- side these ill-fated buildings. Everyone is blaming terorist leader Bin Ladin for the destruction of Pentagon and the World Trade Center and the innocent lives wasted in- side those ill-fated commercial air planes that went down, killing hun- dreds if not thousands of those who were inside these buldings that were turned to rubble in less than 30-40 minutes. Well there just got to be a fall-guy, after all, even the most brilliant of minds can not fathom how such a dastardly act was carried out under the noses of the most powerful country in the world. I hate to think that backward coun- try like Afgahnistan amd its Ta- liban may have something to do with it, and that Pakistan is under the pressure cooker to hand Bin Ladin to the USA for crimes the terrorist lea- der of El Quaida have committed a- gainst the American people and the rest of the democratic world. We must remember, Pakistan was once a part of India and those who live, past or present, in this Muslim count- ry mostly took their birth on this sacred land, Bharata-varsa. In the eyes of the Lord, Pakistanis are still His children-at-heart. If only the Pa- kistanis and Hindus unite, regardless of religious affiliations, they would at last, find themselves transported to the time when India(Bharata-varsa) truly was the Superpower of the world. Wake Up! Pakistanis and Hindus for you are all brothers and sisters of one God the Father, Vasudeva. You are the Aryan race, and it`s now the time to show us your divine heritage. All these so-called advance-learning and techno- logy from the West were actually borro- wed from the timeless Vedic wisdom, the source of which came from the Lord Him- self, Vasudeva(Lord Krishna). Whatever that occurs in the material and spiritual worlds, good or bad, it is VASUDEVA who is the cause of it all. The evidence comes from the Book, Srimad Bhagavatam. Here it is: --- The five elementary ingredients of creation, the interaction set there of by eternal time, and the intui- tion or nature of the individual hu- man beings are all differentiated parts and parcels of the Personali- ty of Godhead, Vasudeva, and in truth there is no other value in it. -- The Vedic literatures are made by and are meant for the Supreme Lord, the demigods are also meant for ser- ving the Lord as parts of His body, the different planets are also meant for the sake of the Lord, and diffe- rent sacrifices are performed just to please Him. --- The Supreme Lord is pure spiritual form, transcendental to all material qualities, yet for the sake of the creation of the material world and its maintenance and annihilation, He accepts through His external energy the material modes of nature called goodness, passion, and ignorance. ---- These three modes of material nature, being further manifested as matter, knowledge and activities, put the ETERNALLY TRANSCENDENTAL LIVING EN- TITY under the conditions of cause and effect and make one responsible for such activities. ----- The SUPERSEER, the transcendental Lord is beyond the perception of the material senses of the living enti- ties because of passion, goodness, and ignorance. For in- stance, space-travel engin- eers and scientists figure that perhaps a human being may not be able to think and act quickly enough to control a rocket when it takes off and during the period of ra- pidly growing speed. To solve this problem, they let the rocket operate in the automa- tic mode, not knowing that it could create mind-boggling problems that may led to a ca- tastrophic disaster, if the that rocket on automatic pilot no longer obeys the commands of its human controllers. It was on 1920 that a Czech au- thor, Karel Capek, wrote a play about mechanical men that were invented to do many kinds of work. These are robots for farm work, others for factory work, and so on. In the end, the ro- bots learned to think and feel like human beings. They revolt and made slaves of the men who created them. The name of this fantastic play is R.U.R( Ros- sums Universal Robot), perhaps known to a few as URUKRAMA. It`s a PLAY that is actually happening today, when it all began on September 11, 2001. Postscript ---------- Who is Dr. John W. Mauchly? It was in 1941 when an American physicist, Dr. John W. Mauchly started to think that perhaps electronic devices may help man- kind in computing how to solve complex problems in matter of mi- nutes which may take a human being years to solve even just one. In the hope of finding out for himself, Dr. Mauchly served the staff of the Moore School of El- ectronic Engineering of the Uni- versity of Pennsylvania,USA, so he could inspire the institution to construct a computing machine using electronic tubes similar to those used in our radios and TV sets. After a considerable study, a gp. of engineers and technicians at the Moore School produced the 1st electronic digital computer on February 1946, months after the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan were razed by atomic bombs. The development therefore of the first digital computer was a well kept secret during the war, a computer named ENIAC, which is an abbreviation for Electronic Nume- rical Integrator and Calculator. The Birth of ENIAC ------------------ In 1951, ENIAC was later moved to the Ballistic Research Laboratories in the US Army`s Proving Ground at Aberdeen, Maryland. ENIAC, in other words, is such a complicated piece of electrical equipment that no single person knows every bit of its wiring. Am- ong its nearly 18,000 electronic tubes, it could multiply, in fact, together two ten digit numbers in 1/350th of a second, while a good human calculator equipped with a pencil and paper takes about 3 minutes to caluculate. This makes ENIAC 3,500 times as good as an ordinary desk calculator. However, one must consider also the time the time it takes for the machine to find out from its instructors what it is supposed to do and print the result when the task is over. ENIAC VS. Human Memory ---------------------- Just as we keep useful bits of in- formation in our memories to be re- called when needed, so does the com- puter that has stored in it informa- tion it may use to solve a problem. But a problem would require many steps that depend on one another. If it can store in its memory the re- sult of step and hold it there as long as necessary, then it can re- call the information from memory when necessary for another step. In that way, the digital computer is superior to human memory for it does not for- get the bits and pieces of informa- tion it has stored. The computer`s ability to store in- formation is made possible by using a magnetic tape, magnetic drums, cath- ode ray tubes, and calcuim of mercu- ry in which numbers are stored in the form of waves moving at the speed of sound. To "read" the information that has been stored in the tape, the Compu- ter, like ENIAC, uses each head of the tape that contains a coil, a tiny electromagnet which is spaced across the tape to form a track. As a result the tape can be used over and over again for stroing different sets of information since any message on it is automatically "erased" when some- thing new is written. Retrieving Information ---------------------- To get a piece of information from the tape into the airthmetic unit of the computer, there is a particular number of magnetized on the tape that the computer needs which require the head to run over the entire length of the tape to find that number. Similar in principle to the magnetic tape is the drum which contains 50 tracks on its surface. The drum that is mounted on a shaft whirls around up to 3,000 turns per minute under the reading and writing heads. PICTURES NOBODY SEES --------------------- Still faster than the magnetic drum is the method of making "pictures" in the form of electrical change on the face of a cathode ray tube, similar to te- levision. The pictures on the tubes of the computer, however, can be "seen" only by an electronic beam and not by the human eye. SPEED ------ In other words, the arithmetic or com- putin part of the computer lies in the electronic tubes which are capable of "switching" a curret "off and on" in less than a millionth of a second, when properly used. This enables it to count by means of electrical impulses: To add, multiply, subtract, and divide. Nothing mechanical is involved in the process, but only the movement of the electrons. This is what makes it so fast. The Message ----------- After an answer is found, the computer may send the data to a storage unit or it maybe automatically printed on the screen. The speed in which some machine can print the message was more than ten times greater in 1961. Imagine how fast this message is printed now. After the War -------------- When World War II was over, electronic digital computers like ENIAC were put to use solving all sorts of scientific problems. And one of the most impres- sive of such a large scale computer sys- tem, after the invention of IBM 703, is known as the SAGE computer, a machine that uses radar data to give the Air Force a round the clock chart of all aircrafts that fly all over the world. Unfortunately, that didn`t work when two commercial aircrafts, Boeing 767s, crashed into WCT`s Twin Towers in Man- hattan, New York, USA on September 11, 2001. Why the SAGE computer failed to detect these runaway planes prior to the crash can only be answered by God Himself( Lord Keshava). Truthfully, my day begins when I`m off to work in the hospital, where I treat the insane, the hysterical, the bruised, the hypertensives, the diabetics, the astmatics, those with erectile dysfunctions, deliver those who are in labor a full term baby, refers those who are stabbed, shot, bumped, battered by the hus- band, answers calls from those with stomach pain, counsels those who are suicidal after taking a dose of organophospate, have an animated discussion with the nurses on duty, declares someone dead on arrival, resuscitates a limp, cyanotic baby, reads the laboratory tests done and chest x-rays taken from patients with tuberculosis. So, what else is new? Thus, when I go home after the mor- ning duty( from 8A.M. to 8P.M.)I have to contend with talking to the children or wife. That is if they are still awake when I arrive home usually at 11 P.M. And there are nights you have to wake at dawn be- cause the missus wants you to do something exclusively for her,SEX. So, you manage to leave your home at 7 A.M., where I have to commute to the hospital riding on a public utility vehicle(Jeepney) which takes me about an hour and a half to reach my working station. Then the next day, I go on the grave yard shift(8P.M. to 8 A.M.)where you are the only doctor available to do the work at the ward, emer- gency room, delivery room, etc. Then you go home the next day to find out that you still have to post this message somewhere inside a net cafe, since I don`t own a personal computer, nor will I ever be able to possess, such luxuries in life due to poverty. Imagine I earn only $450/month. Your wife is not working. You have two kids taking up electronic and civil en- gineering, and a girl on her 4th grade. So where will I get the mo- ney to give you the prize for ans- wering my question of where does the day begin? For me, the day begins with me and ends with me.
