My wife has just made a big cake for my mother in law , and I have just printed a picture of my girls to go in a frame as its her birthday. Its not much,as we are a bit strapped for cash but its the thought that counts. my wife works for the local council, and had to call the RSPCA as one of the tenants had left a premesis and left a collie puppy behind , locked all on its own...........poor little thing. One of the things he told me is that I was an empty vessel to get rid of the things inside me so that the energy that is there in the universe can speak to me. My son wanted one for Christmas when he was 13 so I bought him a used one along with a CD and book about how to teach yourself (I couldn't afford lessons). He felt it was impossible but I insisted it could be done. I decided to prove it by teaching myself and when he saw " mom " could do it; he took another stab at it. It was a very happy moment this Christmas when he opened up his brand new Martin guitar (I always wanted to get him one). He plays beautifully, an amazing self taught young man of 20 now. He also plays the drums and is talking about teaching himself the banjo. I'm so glad I showed him instead of just telling him he could do it. Funny though, I've never asked myself that question when I've written something retarded like the poem below that I wrote for a friend's birthday card. I'm sure it comes from the same deep place; it just doesn't seem like it should to me. I dunno. There is usually a balance within Paganism. His teacher then moved, and when I asked him to recommend another local teacher, he said that Peter knew all he needed to know, and he was right. I was self taught too, I had a book of chords and off I went. spent many an hour listening to records and copying them. The only thing I wish I had done is learnt to read music.Been happily noodling now for over 30 years........ Guest guest Report post Posted May 10, 2007 Thanks Louise - I think you are right - cold turkey is definitely the only way for me I think - and hopefully if I try and switch to mainly raw vegan food it will help me with the cravings! I guess following a raw vegan diet for a bit will rule out the bar of Green and Black chocolate I just bought though LOL !! Mind you - I'll willing to give anything a go to get some more energy - my nails are always weak and brittle and my hair albeit long, has been thinning slightly on top for the past year or so - which is odd considering I do generally eat a relatively healthy diet - here's hoping cutting cheese out totally and increasing the raw food that I at least start to feel more energised! There's some very good raw vegan chocolate on the market these days - a bit pricy though. Also it's probably a good idea to be a little skeptical about all the hype surrounding raw diets these days. For most people increasing their intake of raw foods is probably a good thing, but a 100% raw diet is obsessive and of no demonstrable benefit.
