  1. This is how you pronounce the names. Esuraj is pronouced like this- the letter "A" and then sooraaj. Raghavendra is pronounced Raagh then uhv then the letter "A" then ndra. Swamy is the same as Swami. It is prounounced like this Swaamee. I know this village is in Andhra Pradesh state of India. This is also the place where the Mahabharat (the great epic of India) was translated into Telegu by Mr. Thikkana.
  2. I recall Murali Mohan Prabhu was interested in donating to Ekachakra dhama. You can visit this page and send the money this way: http://www.mayapur.com/main/index.php?q=civicrm/contribute/transact&reset=1&action=preview&id=13 Thank you very much. Anyone else who wants to give a donation can above, also. Jai Nitai!
  3. That is where I get my cheese from. But my the closest trader joes is quite far, thats why I was complaining. If I was in Kolkata with my grandparents, all I would have to do was walk for five min, go into the local store and get tons of Amul products! But I guess I should quit complaining. Some people may not even have a Trader Joes in their state. Jai Nitai!
  4. I know how you feel. RELIEF! Amul is so widely available in India but unfortunately it is even harder to get cheeses and other dairy products without animal rennet here in America. You have to be so careful here. I don't know why companies have to put those stuff. I have heard Amul products taste so much better (probably because they are purer). Jai Nitai!
  5. Guruvani Prabhuji I may not like your language but I agree with you that drinking milk isn't a crime, like Vegans say it is. The cow is one of our mothers because by providing us with her milk she nourishes us. This is according to the Vedic literature not my own words.
  6. Yes, I just came back from India and in Varsana someone grabbed my mom's hand and forcibely put mehndi on it. And then asked for money! It was only 10 rupees or something but it was still frustrating! And I went on a doli in Varsana and the doli walas were like, "Tell your dad when he comes to give us 200 rupees each. We are Varsana vasis you will get a lot of punya for doing this." And I was thinking well yeah I know you are Varsana vasis and therefore you are probably much greater than me but 400 rupees (two people were carrying me) is too much! I mean I am really lightweight you guys deseve 50 each maximum. So people will do anything in the Lord's name to get themselves the money, but this is not pure bhakti. You should give as much to the deities as you want, they should not dictate how much you must give.
  7. If any of you have been to Ekachakra dhama please share your experiences here. I would be very happy to read about other people's experiences. And even if you have never been there please say something! Like about Nityananda prabhu or something, anything. There are hundreds of threads on the jiva issue and if you want to know my opinion, these threads are quite dry to say the least. This is because the topic is not pure krishna katha. More often than not there is tons of Vaishnava aparadha on these threads as well. Why not talk about Lord Nityananda who is the embodiment of sweetness instead? Jai Nitai!
  8. Hare Krishna. Jai Nitai! After many years of wishing to go to Ekachakra dhama I was finally able to go this year. I have written my realizations on the following website: http://www.geocities.com/ekachakradhama/info.html I would greatly appreciate it if you would read it and give me your comments. I have very neophyte realizations but hopefully you might get something out of it by reading this. Thank you very much. Hare Krishna. Your servant eternally, indulekhadasi
  9. Wow that was exactly in my mind when I wrote my post!
  10. Yes we should try to clean up the waters of Ganga mata but while doing that we should also be trying to clear the dirt in our heart which will also help a whole lot. If we are going to clean we might as well clean everything we possibly can!
  11. If we pray to Krishna or Rama to deliver all creatures in the world that would not be selfishness. Actually Vaishnavas should not pray to go to the spiritual world. We pray that in whatever womb we may be born in in our next life, we should not forget the lotus feet of Rama or Krishna and we should engage in serving the Vaishnavas.
  12. Try Krishna culture, they should have it.
  13. Amul is safe. I would stick to Amul. Amul states that they don't add such things. I hope they are sticking up to this standard and will in the future.
  14. Yes, that is why bhakti yoga is the easiest and most efficient process. Astanga yoga is good too, but it is much harder. Nevertheless some people decide to go for yogic processes such as Astanga yoga but that is fine with me. As long as the processes that people follow are in accordance with Bhagavad Gita then I have no problem.
  15. I recall reading in I think the Transcendental Diaries where Prabhupada was saying the moon adventure was definitely fake. He said, "When the sastras say that the moon is a very nice and oppulent place it is the place of Chandradeva then why should I believe that on the moon there is simply sand and dust?" I have to say I agree with him but I still can't figure out how they managed to do such a pretentious adventure. And where did they go to film the "moon"? That is beyond me.
  16. I know I am interrupting the conversation here but I just wanted to say haribol here. I am in Mayapur on a really slow computer but I just wanted to say I have finally fulfilled my dream of having darsan of Ekachakrapura where I went yesterday. It was amazing. I would tell you more about it but I have a time limit here. So I will tell you more when I come back. And oh yeah, Theist prabhuji we got Uddhava Gita in Vrindavana a week ago. Hare Krishna!
  17. He wanted to show the greatness of his devotee Garuda who then came to the rescue!
  18. Perhaps this fellow doesn't even know that Lord Shiva had actually conquered Kamadeva. Maybe he just needs to do some research. It may not be his fault it may be the fault of his ignorance.
  19. That is funny. Suddha Saraswati is the wife of Vishnu but she has an expansion also called Saraswati who is Brahma's wife.
  20. You are right here, this was my point. Wherever there is prayer that place automatically becomes holy.
  21. Just out of curiousity, why is it that the threads that are about the jiva issue have the most comments?
  22. Sometimes when the Lord fights with the demons he lets the demons gain the upper hand for a while to show that even if the demon is very powerful he will lose the war due to his false pride. Eg. (Krishna and Jarasandha) Sorry, that is the only explaination I can give. I have a very limited intelligence.
