Gauracandra prabhuji, There is a difference between frangrence oils and essential oils but I can't say exactly what it is. Additives? You can even use a whole clovebud on the effected spot. Here is a site where you can buy clovebud oil. I have shop at this store for years. Always great service and fresh herbs at the best prices. They used to have a small store at their main warehouse in the Mission @14th. Mail orders are a $30 minimum. They ship fast. www.sfherbs.com you can order on the web or by phone please pass on anything you learn as to what the differences there are in oils. Hare Krsna I just tried the above link and it took me to a different site for some reason. Try this http://sfherb.com/

This term means sectarianism. To distinquish and reach a conclusion on a relious topic based soley on my view of my religious book and without true broad spiritual realization. I stand by the term. Also I wonder what the different meanings to the words "shaktyavesa avatar" would exist (if any) between Madhvacarya and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. As I understand it(or think I do) Mahaprabhu's line is not one of strict dualism only without the oneness. Not to argue over as it's acintya and doesn't fit to well into our human language forms. Certainly not into my lame attempted English. I feel a need also to restate that I am not Prabhupada's real disciple or representative. So don't blame him or them for any of my mis-statements.

The Lord is advaita, without differentiation. There is no difference between the forms of Krsna, Räma, Näräyana and Vishnu. All of them are one. Sometimes foolish people ask whether when we chant “Räma” in the Hare Krsna mantra we refer to Lord Rämacandra or Lord Balaräma. If a devotee says that the name Räma in the Hare Kårsn mahä-mantra refers to Balaräma, a foolish person may become angry because to him the name Räma refers to Lord Rämacandra. Actually there is no difference between Balaräma and Lord Räma. It does not matter whether one refers to Balaräma or to Lord Rämacandra when chanting Hare Räma, for there is no difference between Them. However, it is offensive to think that Balaräma is superior to Lord Rämacandra or vice versa. Neophyte devotees do not understand this sästric conclusion, and consequently they unnecessarily create an offensive situation. In text 154 Sri Caitanya Mahäprabhu clarified this in a very lucid way: éçvaratve bheda mänile haya aparädha. “It is offensive for one to differentiate between the forms of the Lord.” On the other hand, one should not think that the forms of the Lord are the same as the forms of the demigods. This is certainly offensive, as confirmed by the Vaisnava-tantra:...

Either or, according to the bhakta's attachment. I'll look it up in my memory bank(vedabase).

Great. Always keep questioning and wondering soul. Hare Krsna

is able to leave and yet remain. He is far away and very near as well. He is your Soul, the Soul of all souls, so who can be closer or more approachable? At the same time He is in the most concealed and unapproachable corners of Vrndaban forest with Radha, so He is also the most secreted away. He houses all seeming contradictions with ease. Who can comprehend His ways. He mystifies the greatest mystics and reveals His deepest secrets to children. May He glance kindly upon us all.

Authorities pressure legal Hare Krishna commune
theist replied to harekrishnadas's topic in Spiritual Discussions
"Yes, we must stop these dangerous Hare Krsna's from spreading their way of life." Odd world. Butchers are welcome. Those who indscrimnatly go to war have their place. Abortionists get the protection of the state. Unbridled capitalists are free to exploit others and the Earth for "gain" with near impunity. Extreme Socialists can also turn everyone into slaves of the state, working for near nothing while they live very well, but those Hare Krsna's, "Must be stopped at all costs." Like Christ said, " They will hate you for my names sake." The worldly consciousness hates the name of the Son and it Hates the Name of the Father as well as they are of the same essence. Yes you Hare Krsna's are dangerous. I mean if you all had your way there wouldn't even be a need for the material world at all. Hare Krsna (just see, you even have me saying it) /images/graemlins/wink.gif -
You are so confused like so many American's. You"re thinking of the guys with the turbans. Those are the Saddam Bin Ladens. Think mountains. These are the non-turban people, the Usama Husseins. Think desserts.

Yashodanandana, You often are concerned with your english. I never have trouble understanding you. What I mean is that recognizing guru in the beginning is not like recognizing guru in the 'end'. At first everything is rather hazy and ill defined but as we follow a bone fide teachers instructions all becomes clear. We say I accept guru but since we don't know much about the real person who we are accepting as guru how deep is our acceptance really? But it will deepen as the relationship grows. I know that is not very clear but is the best I can do at the moment. Hare Krsna

read the above. Do you think some Purana's or any one or group of holy books can contain the number of avatars of God?
-
Our personalities are also Krsna but as individualized jiva's. We are not strict dualists. The trick is to grasp and hold both conceptions simultaneously. Perhaps this gets lost when we try to speak. Krsna is ever independent and we are ever dependent.

PURPORT It is the practice of the brähmaëas conversant with the science to pronounce a Vedic mantra in the right accent. The combination of the mantra and Sanskrit words must be chanted with the right pronunciation, otherwise it will not be successful. In this age the brähmaëas are neither well versed in the Sanskrit language nor very pure in practical life. But by chanting the Hare Krsna mantra one can attain the highest benefit of sacrificial performances. Even if the Hare Krsna mantra is not chanted properly, it still has so much potency that the chanter gains the effect. SB 4.13.27

Has anybody looked upon finding guru as an ongoing process that extends beyond formal intiation? Much like ,if not exactly like, diksa?

What part does Caitya-guru, the internal and ultimate guide , play in this?

Corporate America's Silent Partner: India

Oh Okay. Thanks for the taking the time to correct me on that most important point.

Do you even know? I have always understand that Jesus is Krsna's servant and have NEVER stated otherwise.

When undifferentiated oneness because dominate one may have to lay heavy emphasis on the duality. But that duality doesn't negate the oneness as I understand it, rather it co-exists. One does not cancel out the other. Prabhupada taught SIMULTANEOUS oneness and difference. Acintya. Someone who doesn't twinge when he hears Buddha called an incarnation but does when Jesus is so called is actually exposing his own mundane religious discriminations.
-
One and different my friend, right? Saktyavesa avatars are also refered to as incarnations of Krsna. Kapila, Buddha,Prithu,Dattatryea, Narada, Rsabha and countless others.

The first post, as I took it, was not meant to say everything on the subject but rather to open a converstaion on this one aspect of yoga practice.

I see another type of crowded exit that is not limited to India. We see it in all brands of religion. Religion is meant to be a pathway to a higher consciousness. Something we travel through while receiving education and inspiration in the process. But too often we mistake the particular religion as the end in itself. Becoming somewhat content with the practice we neglect the essence. The religion then becomes congested. Long time lingerers become top heavy with the external form of knowledge and may appear very sage like to new comers. But in truth having failed to drink deep the living waters of bhakti these dry religionists as just old stale crackers piling up in the cupboard. Very few want liberation from the material sphere and many fewer still are they that want to love Krsna. So religions grow, pious deeds accumulate and atrocities are justified. The real exit from birth and death becomes ever more blocked. A few find the inner door wide open though and choose to go through to the other side. This is rarely noticed however, above the din.

When I first say hs picture on tv I thought it was the unibombers dad but then someone said Saddam. Then they showed the Iraqi's pouring into the streets dancing and celebrating so I figured "yeah they finally got the snake." The lingering fear of the sadists possible return to power was evident in their cheering faces by its absence. Google news has tons of stories. ___________ Saddam's hero-like image shattered in Arab eyes By Samia Nakhoul DUBAI (Reuters) - For many Arabs Saddam Hussein's meek surrender to U.S. forces marked the total humiliation of a man who portrayed himself as a champion of Arab rights and the reincarnation of the 12th century Muslim warrior Saladin. Repeated broadcasts of close-up footage of Saddam submitting to medical exams at the hands of U.S. soldiers were seen with disbelief, shame and disgust. Of course many were revelling in his spectacular humiliation. But even those who predicted his downfall did not imagine it would be that way -- plucked by U.S. soldiers like a rat from a hole. "No Arab and no Muslim will ever forget these images. They touched something very, very deep," veteran Moroccan journalist, Khalid Jamai, a leading independent commentator, told Reuters. "It was disgraceful to publish those pictures. It goes against human dignity, to present him like a gorilla that has come out of the forest, with someone checking his head for lice." The deposed Iraqi leader's Arab supporters and enemies alike watched over and over again U.S. film of his surrender without firing a shot to defend himself. A U.S. medic combed gloved fingers through his hair and beard, prised open his mouth, poked into his ears and took swabs from his cheek. Saddam appeared grubby, dishevelled and submissive. "I wish it was a Hollywood movie, the wishful thinking of an American director," said Palestinian Salah Ahmed. "The scene of him being examined by American doctors was the most painful since his statues were destroyed." The gulf between the image Saddam created over three decades and the ignominy of his defeat and final capture had been shown to Iraqis, Arabs and the world. In the end, many said, the man who had forced his people into three ruinous wars demonstrated the hollowness of his boasts. "I couldn't believe my eyes. Was this really Saddam Hussein (on TV), the Saddam that frightened Iraqis to Arabs? I thought that was a mistake, maybe a new American game. But then I remembered that he gave up Baghdad just like that... I am more than upset am angry," said Nabil Gazawi, a human right activist. "I was expecting a more honourable end for him like shooting himself," said Lebanese student Salam Berri. "But he was just a typical Arab leader; (they) stay in power forever and then give their countries and themselves up to their worst enemy." FALSE HERO Many said Saddam's hope of founding an Arab warrior dynasty like his ancient hero Saladin was exposed as fantasy. "What we saw was the televised unveiling of 30-year-old lie. A leader surrendered without fighting, the Arab street is stunned, and the Arab media appear to be in a state of shock," wrote Tareq al-Hamed in the Saudi daily Asharq al-Awsat. Arab newspapers splashed Saddam's photos in U.S. custody, looking broken and haggard in contrast to old pictures of the arrogant then Iraqi president in smart suits and in palaces. Many Iraqis, who were the main victims of Saddam's brutality over three decades, were ecstatic to see the man who ruled them by fear now broken, humbled and in the dock. "I hope that we get the chance to try him our way, to let everyone who suffered make him taste what he had made us taste," said Ali Hussein, 29, a stationery shopkeeper. Saudi Arabia, the world's biggest oil exporter and a strategic U.S. ally, greeted the capture of its menacing neighbour with quiet relief, tinged with concern over Washington's future plans for Iraq and the Gulf. In stark contrast to Kuwait, the tiny state briefly occupied by Saddam's forces 13 years ago, there was no jubilation in Saudi streets and the kingdom's rulers marked a final chapter in the Iraqi leader's demise without comment. "We are happy that a dictator like Saddam, who was an enemy of Saudi Arabia, has been caught and is not a menace any more to the region, his people and to Saudi Arabia," said Khaled Batarfi, managing editor of al-Medinah newspaper. In Kuwait, occupied by Saddam for seven months in 1990, it was the "Mother of all good news" -- a reference to Saddam's term for the 1991 Gulf War, the "Mother of All Battles". "Many still refuse to believe that... the 'great and awe-inspiring one' was arrested in hiding after loudly claiming he'd die a martyr," wrote Jassem Boudi, al-Rai al-Aam's editor. Arabs begrudgingly admitted that Saddam in custody was a tremendous boost for U.S. President George W. Bush. But regardless of their feelings, many wanted to believe his capture would lead to the end of the U.S.-led occupation of Iraq. "I hope this will be the beginning of the departure of the coalition forces from Iraq, for they have completed their mission," said Sheikh Ali Ahmed Abdillahi.

So then "Move like a butterfly and sting like a bee" is really and instruction to engage in sankirtana while killing the infidels. It's all so clear now. Gotta go work on my shuffle.

To think people are only becoming liberated from India might miss this point. But from an Earth centric point of view it makes sense, at least in the past. As India still contains the highest number of people interested in gaining liberation and also the texts and teachers that show the way. That is now changing and expanding. I don't find any real merit in the idea that the exits are becoming crowded as the only real exit, the final one, is to be found within each individual being. At first glance I see your idea of crowding the door a little differently then your friend does. To me I see millions crowding around the apparent exit and blocking the exit while not leaving themselves. Just lingering and chatting and obstructing the way with high sounding speculation. Nah, if we really want out Supersoul will clear a path and see us through.

Yeah and where is Stalin(Saddam's professed hero and role model) when we need him. A court system is under construction in Iraq and he will be judged by the Iraqi's.
