  1. That's what we are here for. We are here because of our past karma and will here in the next life if we do not redeem ourself. To redeem ourself we should know the past karma otherwise it is a BIG question mark. People are suffering in all kinds of situation, sickness, lost of livelyhood, lost of wife or children and the latest to the list are victims of tsunami. They all would like to know the reason for their sufferings. May be by knowing the reason and the bad karma of their past life, it would give them a chance redeem for a better life after this. Yes, truely I do no know about my past life. What was I or who was I and where do I go from here. It would be interesting to know all this. Although the scriptures tells us of our existence it does not tell us precisely about our bad karmas in the past life. May be by tapas one may aquire the knowledge to know the secret but it would not be possible for all to do such. So, my learned friend could you tell me of your past life? And how did you go about knowing it?

  3. An interesting review and discovery of early Christianity. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/religion/first/themovement.html
  4. If we talk about Karma than it should not hinder. It would give us a better perspective of our future. It would give a guide line to change for the better. May be you have a different point of view over the matter. But I would say it would give us a better understanding of our religion and the course of our life. May be it would be for the better rather than think of it as nagative. Some people has the fear of knowing their past life for reasons best known to them only.
  5. Hinduism believes in reincarnation while the rest just brush aside and say it is nonsence. For the non Hindus this would be an eye opener. http://www.childpastlives.org/shanti_devi.htm
  6. Not every sickness can be cured by a doctor. I'm speaking from experience and may be you have not been there that you do not realize what a troubled spirit can do. Anyway, please be aware of your words. Do not think only you are right and others are wrong. If someone is seeking advice please offer what you think is best and it is up to the seeker to either eccept it or disregard but for you to say that it is a silly advice is wrong coz you do not know the real picture and a medical doctor cannot diganose for an unexplanable situation.
  7. Way back in 1970 I had the same experience once. I could feel someone like a lady standing beside me and giggling at me. I was lying down with folded arms but could not unfold or call for help. Than suddenly it disappeared. I do not know if it was a dream state or was it real. Anyway at that period of time I was an atheist and did not believe in God. may be I was not clean and did not pray and so it could be disturbance from dirty spirits. I suggest you take the advice of Sephiroth. It's always advisible to was your feet before you enter you home after dark. Say your prayers before you go to bed and as he said keep a prayer book under your pillow. A nail will do fine too.
  8. Muslims are hypocrates. They say they do not beleve in Karma but than why do they believe in takdir. Takdir is fate and relates to karma. They do not practice what they preach. They say Allah created all and Allah is merciful but in Iraq and Afghanistan we see Muslims beheading innocent people. Why are the Muslim clerics closing a an eye on this issue? If life is the creation of Allah than what right do the Muslims have to take it away that was given by Allah? Where is the principle of the Koran? If slaughtering human beings are like slaughtering cows than I have no respect for such religion. If they feel non Muslims are enemies of Allah and Islam than I do not believe in their God Allah or Islam. They can say whatever to justify their means but in my eyes Islam is a religon of evil which only breeds hatred and thirst for blood.
  9. "Whoever sees diversity and change sees but appearances, which only lead from death to death" The above it does not mention curse. It simply means if one indulges with materialistic life than one has created desire for wealth and fame and this will lead to corrupt life. So when this life ends the soul is transmigrated into another body to be back again and again into this material world for pleasure and suffering. To viod such Hinduism has other paths for liberation and dvoid of bad karmas and that is living in celibacy and doing charitable work without expceting anything in return. May be you understanding of the verse is limited and that is why you are unable to perceive the actual meaning of the verse.
  10. Hinduism does not say reincarnation is a curse. Show me in which text does it mention so. The truth is reincarnation of rebirth is the cycle of the atma. When it sheds this body it will take another according to its past deeds. What the scriptures teach us is to rid ourself from this cycly of death and rebirth we need to focus our mind to God and service to mankind. Live a righteous life and you will be liberated from the cycle of birth and death. Please read the scripture well before making any foolish statements.
  11. For a simple reason. 1. My religion gives me the freedom to ask questions about God and the scriptures. 2. Hinduism does not compel me to be a hypocrate like you, you and you. 3. My religion teaches me to love all living creatures and that is why it allowed foreign aliens to visit the Home land of Hinduism. But these aliens had ulterior motives and instead of thanking it for its hospitality these alieans invaded and occupied vast territories of Hindu home land. Desecrated its temples and forced Hindus to conver to the alien religion. 4. Hinduism is a peace loving religion and does not decapitate human beings in the name of religion. 5. Hinduism does not compel me to do anything against my freewill. 6. Hinduism makes me believe GOD is omnipresent and resides in all living entity. 7. Hinduism has a more rational and scientific answers to all questions relating to life on earth. 8. Hinduism also says that Hell and Haven is right here on earth and it all depands on how you want to live your life. 9. Hinduiam says its the root of all religins on earth and that every other religon are its branches which can be pruned when over grown. 10. Hinduism is here to stay till end of time and none can ever destroy it because it has no founder.
  12. Let us take this example: In a forest there live a brahmin family. Father, Mother, son and daughter. There is no one around for the next 50 kilimiters. After some years the father dies of illness and it is the duty of the son to carry out the last rites and he does it without the help of those assigend by manu smrti. Can the son after carrying out the funeral rituals be clasified as a sudra? There are so many ways one can think and having the God given brain man falis to think and rationalize. Here is what this authour says about caste system. There is a misconception in some minds that Hindu scriptures sanction the caste system. Vedas, the proud possession of mankind, are the foundation of Hinduism. Vedas are all-embracing, and treat the entire humanity with the same respect and dignity. Vedas speak of nobility of entire humanity (krinvanto vishvam aryam), and do not sanction any caste system or birth-based caste system. Mantra, numbered 10-13-1 in Rig Veda, addresses the entire humanity as divine children (shrunvantu vishve amrutsya putraha). Innumerable mantras in Vedas emphasise oneness, universal brotherhood, harmony, happiness, affection, unity and commonality of entire humanity. A few illustrations are given here. Vide Mantra numbered 5-60-5 in Rig Veda, the divine poet declares, “All men are brothers; no one is big, no one is small. All are equal.” Mantra numbered 16.15 in Yajur Veda reiterates that all men are brothers; no one is superior or inferior. Mantra numbered 10-191-2 in Rig Veda calls upon humanity to be united to have a common speech and a common mind. Mantra numbered 3-30-1 in Atharva Veda enjoins upon all humans to be affectionate and to love one another as the cow loves her newly-born calf. Underlining unity and harmony still further, Mantra numbered 3-30-6 in Atharva Veda commands humankind to dine together, and be as firmly united as the spokes attached to the hub of a chariot wheel. The Bhagavad Gita, which contains the essence of Vedas and Upanishads, has many shlokas that echo the Vedic doctrine of oneness of humanity. In shloka numbered V (29), Lord Krishna declares that He is the friend of all creatures (suhridam sarva bhutanam) whereas shloka numbered IX (29) reiterates that the Lord has the same affection for all creatures, and whosoever remembers the Lord, resides in the Lord, and the Lord resides in him. Shloka numbered XVIII (61) declares that God resides in every heart (ishwar sarva bhutanam hrudyeshe Arjun tishthti). Guna (Aptitude) and Karma (Actions) Hindu scriptures speak only about ‘varna’ which means to ‘select’ (one’s profession, etc.) and which is not caste or birth-based. As per shloka numbered IV (13) of the Bhagavad Gita, depending upon a person’s guna (aptitude) and karma (actions), there are four varnas. As per this shloka, a person’s varna is determined by his guna and karma, and not by his birth. Chapter XIV of the Bhagavad Gita specifies three gunas viz. satva (purity), rajas (passion and attachment) and tamas (ignorance). These three gunas are present in every human in different proportions, and determine the varna of every person. Accordingly, depending on one’s guna and karma, every individual is free to select his own varna. Consequently, if their gunas and karmas are different, even members of the same family can belong to different varnas. Notwithstanding the differences in guna and karma of different individuals, Vedas treat the entire humanity with the same respect and do not sanction any caste system or birth-based caste system. Veda is the Foundation Hinduism is all-embracing and grants the same respect to all humans, and anything to the contrary anywhere is not sanctioned by the Vedas. Being divine revelation, the shrutis (Vedas) are the ultimate authority on Dharma, and represent its eternal principles whereas being human recapitulations, smritis (recollections) can play only a subordinate role. As per shloka numbered (6) of Chapter 2 in Manu Smriti, “Veda is the foundation of entire Dharma.” Shloka numbered 2(13) of Manu Smriti specifies that whenever shruti (vedas) and smritis differ, stipulation of Vedas will prevail over smritis. In view of this position, anything discriminatory in Manu Smriti or anywhere else is anti-Veda, and therefore, is not sanctioned by Hinduism and has subsequently been inserted with unholy intentions, and deserves to be weeded out. Besides, precise codification of Hinduism in one book is indispensable to make Hinduism easier to be understood by a layman. For this codification, appropriate mantras of Vedas and Upanishads, and selected shlokas in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata (which also includes the Bhagavad Gita), etc. will provide the basic material. Role of Media In order to usher in a casteless and harmonious society, the all-embracing and universal message of Vedas has to be followed and spread. Both the print and electronic media play an important role in a country’s life. They should contribute their mite to unite various sections of the society. But in India, most of the media are unwittingly strengthening caste and communal divisions. By publishing divisive articles and describing political leaders and electorates, achievers and sports persons, and even wrong-doers and their victims as members of a particular caste or community, the media is strengthening the divisions instead of unifying the society. The media should play a positive role so that there is amity all around. Let Your Hearts be One Anyone believing in the caste system is violating the Vedic command of oneness of entire humanity. Although the first known poem in the world appeared as the first mantra in Rig Veda, and though the Vedas and Upanishads contain the sublimest thoughts in the sublimest language, because of a faulty education system, most of the educated Indians are ignorant of their rich heritage contained in the Vedas and Upanishads. Most Indians do not know Sanskrit, the language of Vedic literature. Many persons do not know even the meaning of their Sanskrit names. By learning Sanskrit one can read the Vedas, though even translated Vedic literature can be studied. We have to ensure that we do not lose our rich Vedic heritage as it would amount ot losing our identity. To ensure the survival of our Vedic heritage, and to bring about unity and harmony in society, it is imperative that the all-embracing message of the Vedes is practised and propagated.
  13. When Vishnu manifested as Krishna in the Dvapara Yuga the caste of people were divided accoding to their profession and so he said do your duties according to your tradition. Do not follow the tradition of others as you are not groomed to be so. But in the present yuga all have changed. Anyone can pick a professsion of his liking if he sets his mind to it. A non brahmin can learn the sastras and become a qualified gurukal in any temple. A child from the labour class is a doctor or an engineer now. The days of caste and creed is over now. Insted of dwelling on the past why not serve mankind without prejudice. Serve mankind and you have served GOD as he dewlls in all life form.
  14. This physical frame, built out of earth, fire, water, wind and ether, breaks up into its components, as built-up things do. Only ignorance will take it as Real; only the uneducated will attach value to it as permanent and eternal. Did this body exist before birth? Does it persist after death? No. It appears and disappears, with an interval of existence! Therefore, it has no absolute value; it is to be treated only as the cloud or the shadow. As a matter of fact, this physical world is like the mango tree raised by the magician's wand, the product of the trickster known as Mind. Just as clay takes the form of pot and pan and plate and after an interval becomes once again clay, shapeless clay, so too, all this is the formless Sath - Chith - Ananda; the Niraakaara appearing with Aakaara for some time, on account of the delusion and ignorance of the Mind. Some things are useful, some are not, all because of this Name and Form. All Forms are He; all are He. You too are He, above and beyond the Past, Present and Future. You are not this body which is tied up with time, and which is caught in the toils of Was, Is and Will. Be ever fixed in this attitude, dwell constantly in the thought that You are of the nature of Parabrahma; thus, you grow into a Jnani. That mind is in bondage which craves for objects, for the company of men, and prefers this location or that. Attachment is bondage; non-attachment is Liberation, Moksha, Mukthi. To crave is to be imprisoned, to die. To withdraw the mind from all attachment is to be free, to live for ever. "Mana eva Manushyaanaam Kaaranam bandha mokshayoh"; for men, the mind it is that causes bondage and grants liberation. The mind runs after an object, gets attached; the senses are alerted; an action results; the mind is rendered happy or unhappy; feeling ensues; fear enters; anger grows; affection develops. Thus, the bonds are thightened. Fear, anger and affection are the closest comrades of Attachment, the comrades dearest to its heart! They are, all four, inseparable companions, moving always together. This is why even Pathanjali was forced to assert, "Attachment runs after happiness". And what is it that grants happiness? The fulfilment of desire, is it not? Desire leads to hatred of those who thwart it, fondness for those who feed it and to the inevitable wheel of opposites, of likes and dislikes; there is no escape from this for the Ignorant.
  15. While the world is fighting against terrorism and poverty we Hindus here are fighting who's diety is superior. The division in SSSD is not the scriptures but school of different thoughts. People of small mind would only say such whereas the knowledgable would accept all four as one but different approach. Praising Krishna or Vishnu is equalent to praising Shiva, Brahman or Sakthi. Follwers of Krishna from the west have a different concept due to the teaching of their Master who found the most effective way to convience the westerners to accept Krishna. The following of one Supreme Being which is emphasised in the Gita is in par with the Bible, Tora or Koran. ISKON found that it is better to speak of one Supreme Being to the West than to confuse them with multiple Gods. Anyway most Hindus know and understand that God is one but they strongly believe that HE has the power to manifest in many forms and such forms are mentiond in the puranas. HARI and SHIVA are one and those who do not believe such are ignorant of the scriptures. Waging war of words would not solve or achive anything. We must study what Hinduism can do to help raise the standard of living of the poor Hindus. Go to the slums of India and see the suffering of these people who have been negleted by the corrupt politicians who only whan to make their own life comfortable while the ordinary citizens suffer throughout their lives. Can the Hindu samaj do something about it? Religious fanatics are not only against US but they are also against Hindus in India. Discuss on that issue to see what we Hindus can do to save Hinduism from such people. Let the moorthies do their part while we who are their ambassaors on earth do our part to protect mother earth and her children from being destroyed by sucide bombers. Just talking about the wonders of Krishna, Vishnu or Shiva will not save us from these aliens or feed the poor. We have a duty to our religion and fellow human beings so stop this nonsense and get craking.

    Struggling

Do not be deluded by such remarks as some of these people come from school of different of thoughts. Mother Saraswathy would do fine for the moment. Be strict in your prayers to HER and SHE will guide you. You cannot jump from LKG to College the same year. You have to go step by step. Taking advice from some of them here would only make you more miserable and stress you out. You cannot see the President or Prime Minister on education matters. You need to see the Education Minister to such and Mother Saraswathy is in charge of knowledge and no one else. Without HER grace no one would be able to become a knowledgable person. Trust me.
  17. ##Yet that doesn't seem true. No matter how much praying is done, no matter how many good deeds are done, there are good people who suffer. For what?## Are you not aware that people suffer because of the past karma. Praying is to ease your mind and request GOD to ease your suffering not remove it totaly. None can escape the law of karma. You make the bed you lie on it. You created the problem you have to face the consequences. No one can take your place. If you have committed a crime and found guilty of such a crime could you appoint someone else to take the punishment on your behalf. Surely not. And so is your bad karma in your previous life. In this life it would be pay back time and that is why people suffer. Morever pepole are still ignorant of their purpose in life here and so to make them realize GOD would from time to time test you with all kind of obstalces. If you are smart to understand that this burden you have would ease slowly. #And what evidence is there of past karma to begin with? There is none." Evidence are many but you are still blind. Infact you answered your own question. "SUFFERING". That is the evidence. Need I have to say more? ##The idea that one can feel the presence of God through love and compassion, how true is that? There are many who have love and compassion for others, yet they do not feel the presence of God, nor do they believe in his existence.## Look for GOD inside not elsewhere. The problem with some people is that they are thinking GOD is somewhere up there in the spritual world. You have to see GOD in yourself only than you will realize HIS presence otherwise no matter how many years your pray you will not be able to feel HIS presence. Seek HIM in thyself and not outside. He who dicovers the presence of GOD in him is liberated from all sins. HE is hidden deep inside you but it's unfortunate you have difficulty in finding HIM.
  18. Have you not heard the word "past karma"? This is not the only life you are destined. You had a previous life and the life before that and so on. You had not realized the Supreme Being and so you are back here again and again. The sufferings are not caused by GOD but your own action. Every action there is a reaction and whatever sufferings you caused to others in your previous life is the result of your sufferings in this life. If you can realize this and make amendments God would show HIS compassion and Grace towards you and your next life would be better off. Human beings are never contended because they do not know the reason why they are here. Every birth has a reason and link to others. Be it human or animals they all have something common and that is the relationship. You bring home a puppy to be a your pet and that too is a link. You owe the puppy in your previous life and so in this life you and the puppy had linked and it became your duty to lok after it in this life. It's on of the example how people are and animals are linked together. A dog may not have been a do in its previous life and so is a parrot or a kitten. Life has eight hundred and fifty million cycle and ours would be the last if we do realize it otherwise it's back to the drawing board. There is much to learn and if you're destined to learn it all in this life than it is a gift otherwise will be back again here to complete the task. You must realize that we are not here by accident. We are here because of our karma and when it is exhausted we will leave this body to continue our journey till we are united with te Supreme Being. We are the sparks from the one big fire ball like energy that we call GOD in many names and language. You must realize that we are partly GOD ourself but some of us do not know it and go about committing all kind of sins and the result is birth after birth in many forms. As soon as you have realized your presence here and pluged yourself with the main frame{GOD} you would be liberated from this birth forever.
  19. Many a time I had felt HIS presence and sometime I can feel HE is always with me. May be you have doubts about HIM and so you do not experience HIS presence. You can not see HIM with your naked eyes. In order to see or expreience HIM you have to free yourself of all malice, feel the pain of others, be loving and show compassion to all living creatures only than you will be able to experience HIM.
  20. The one which is introduced or produced in its perfect form is called Sanskrit. The word Sanskrit is formed from “sam + krit” where (sam) prefix means (samyak) ‘entirely’ or ‘wholly’ or ‘perfectly,’ and krit means ‘done.’ Sanskrit was first introduced by Brahma to the Sages of the celestial abodes and it is still the language of the celestial abode, so it is also called the Dev Vani. Sanskrit was introduced on the earth planet, by the eternal Sages of Sanatan Dharm along with the Divine scriptures such as the Vedas, the Upnishads and the Puranas. A famous verse in Sage Panini’s Ashtadhyayi tells that the Panini grammar that is in use now is directly Graced by God Shiv. Once, at the end of His Divine ecstatic dance induced by the enthralling effects of Krishn love, God Shiv played on His damru (the mini hand-drum which God Shiv holds in His hand). Fourteen very distinct sounds came out of it. Sage Panini conceived them in his Divine mind and on the basis of those Divine sounds, reestablished the science of Sanskrit grammar which already eternally existed. Since the start of human civilization on the earth, people and the Sages both spoke pure Sanskrit language. The historical records indicate that three public programs of the recitation of the Bhagwatam and the discourses on Krishn leelas had happened in Sanskrit language in 3072 BC, 2872 BC and 2842 BC in which Saints and the devotees participated. Later on when the population increased, the prakrit form of speech with partly mispronounced words (called apbhranshas) was developed in the less educated society and became popular. The Manu Smriti says that the ambitious chatriyas of Bharatvarsh went abroad to the neighboring countries to establish their new kingdoms and, as they were cut off from the mainstream of the Bhartiya civilization and culture, they developed their own language and civilization as time went on. Natural calamities (such as ice ages) totally shattered their civilizations but still the survivors, in the spoken form of their primitive languages, held many apbhransh words of the original Sanskrit language which their remote ancestors had retained in their memory. As a result of this affiliation with Bhartiya culture and the Sanskrit language, Sanskrit became the origin of the growth of the literary development in other languages of the world. The phonology (the speech sound) and morphology (the science of word formation) of the Sanskrit language is entirely different from all of the languages of the world. Some of the unique features of Sanskrit are: 1. The sound of each of the 36 consonants and the 16 vowels of Sanskrit are fixed and precise since the very beginning. They were never changed, altered, improved or modified. All the words of the Sanskrit language always had the same pronunciation as they have today. There was no ‘sound shift,’ no change in the vowel system, and no addition was ever made in the grammar of the Sanskrit in relation to the formation of the words. The reason is its absolute perfection by its own nature and formation, because it was the first language of the world. 2. The morphology of word formation is unique and of its own kind where a word is formed from a tiny seed root (called dhatu) in a precise grammatical order which has been the same since the very beginning. Any number of desired words could be created through its root words and the prefix and suffix system as detailed in the Ashtadhyayi of Panini. Furthermore, 90 forms of each verb and 21 forms of each noun or pronoun could be formed that could be used in any situation. 3. There has never been any kind, class or nature of change in the science of Sanskrit grammar as seen in other languages of the world as they passed through one stage to another. 4. The perfect form of the Vedic Sanskrit language had already existed thousands of years earlier even before the infancy of the earliest prime languages of the world like Greek, Hebrew and Latin etc. 5. When a language is spoken by unqualified people the pronunciation of the word changes to some extent; and when these words travel by word of mouth to another region of the land, with the gap of some generations, it permanently changes its form and shape to some extent. Just like the Sanskrit word matri, with a long ‘a’ and soft ‘t,’ became mater in Greek and mother in English. The last two words are called the ‘apbhransh’ of the original Sanskrit word ‘matri.’ Such apbhranshas of Sanskrit words are found in all the languages of the world and this situation itself proves that Sanskrit was the mother language of the world. Considering all the five points as explained above, it is quite evident that Sanskrit is the source of all the languages of the world and not a derivation of any language. As such, Sanskrit is the Divine mother language of the world. For further reference please go to: http://www.thevedicfoundation.org/valuable_resources/Sanskrit-The_Mother_of_All_Languages_partI.htm
  21. Yes, I'm not from India nor was my parents. But I'm a born Hindu. I too would like to et to know you better and may be learn a thing or two from you. "Katrathu Kaialvu, Kallalathu Uzlakalvu".
  22. The ongoings in this forum is merely to refresh our minds to focus on the Supreme Being. But has anyone of you considered the dire state of the situation how the unfortunate souls live in deplorable conditions in the third worlds. We can discuss about GOD and his mission for man on this planet for ages but what good would that bring to change the situation these poor souls. Castaway because of their status in society they live by hand to mouth and some of them even not allowed to mix in society. Yes, ofcourse one can say that it is their bad karma that they have to endure such but is it not our duty as fellow human being take a step to make life more sustainable for such souls. Do not expect GOD to come in person to do such a task. It's is we who are Gods of these planet who have to take care of such business while GOD who is the master of this universe whose task is to preserve the universe and not attend to petty things. Every living creature has its dharma. The cows' dharma is to provide milk and man's dharma is to be loving and compassionate towards other living creatures. Are we aware of our dharma? I guess we are not otherwise why do we have to witness the suffering of fellow human beings and yet standby doing nothing about it. Reading the Vedas or Gita alone would not guaranty us salvation or iternal life. It is action that speaks a million words. Putting what you learn into action is what vedic religion is all about. Gita speaks of such action. All religions, all individuals are but different paths towards the same goal! There can never be a cause for Religious disharmony unless vested interests are involved!! Leave nothing to chance!! Never ever forget that it is the Dharma of every individual which plays the lead role ... Religions come next!!! Man has to adapt to situation and that is dharma too. Such examples are seen even in the action of the Supreme Being. In krita yuga, Maha vishnu incarnated himself as Rama; and in consonance with the dharma of that time, he told Ravana, as the latter stood in the battlefield shorn of arms, to go home and return next day duly armed. That selfsame Vishnu incarnated himself as krishna in dwapara yuga; and in the Maha Bharata war directed Arjuna to shoot an arrow at a disarmed karna and kill him. Battle strategy compelled him to alter dharma, even though he was the Almighty. And thus we see a transformation in dharma between the krita and dwapara yugas. Nayanmars and azhwars attached little importance to varnasrama. The tales of Nandanar, Thiruppanazhwar and Thirumangaiazhwar bear testimony to this. It is well known how Srimad Ramanuja accepted a Non-Brahmins as guru disregarding varanasrama and went on to give mantra upadesa to all irrespective of caste and creed. God in the Hindus view is a universal soul although worshipped in a variety of forms as Shiva, Shakti, and Vishnu. God is bliss. He permeated everything in the universe. While stressing love, truth, and charity, as all religions do, Hindu culture goes on also to stress faith – a deep faith that without the Almighty nothing is possible. Ancient India and the new India democracy are two different entities, one cannot seek to change present day India and its prevalent environment. We have seen how even the Almighty in his different incarnations altered himself in accordance with the times. In the Bhagavad Gita , Krishna address all of humanity through Arjuna. Therein He expounds the great Truths, points our spiritual basis of all human problems, the exalted code of human conduct and behavior, the doctrine of Ahimsa, of love and compassion, of toleration, of devotion, self-discipline and selflessness, gives insight into the why and wherefore of life, offer words of comfort and solace to all men in all circumstances, for all times, and reminds us of our duties. "For the purpose of firmly establishing righteousness, for the protection of god and for the destruction of sin-causing deeds, I make my appearance from age to age."(Bhagavad Gita, Ch. 4:8). Beware he may be even walking among us or seeking alms at your door to test your conscience. Do whatever you can to help the meek so that you will be taken care. If you fail in your duty you have failed GOD.

    Hello...

Whoever is running this forum is doing it in good intention but there are those with small minds who do not understand the core of Hindu religion speak of such. The supreme is HE who HE is and none can say for sure who HE is. Call HIM by any name and HE will answer. Be it BRAHMA, VISHNU OR SHIVA te are all one and the same but in different manifestation. If you pray to SHIVA you pray to all three and if you pray to SAKTHI you pray to the ultimate BRAHMAN who is the unseen. The one Supreme Being in many forms to satisfy the need of jivas. It is the authors of such books who had dedicated their writings to their personal God andin praising HIM have placed HIM at the highest level. If you read SHIVA puranam it would say SHIVA is the supreme while VISHNU puranam would say VISHNU is the supreme but both these authors are not wrong as they have realized God in their own aspect. You are not compled to pick either one as Hinduism gives you the liberty to chose your own liking. So, let us not argue over this petty issue and concentrate on more important things in this world. Such as peace and eradication of poverty.

    a loophole

than go on sinning and find out the end result. In actual fact we are not here by accident. We are here because of our past karma. Such as if someone is commiting a sin in this present life commiting murder, rape thievery or cheating someone, he or she is not commiting them out of ignorance but by karma willed upon him by his past action. When his karma is axhausted the atma would leave body to it's next cycle of life untill the soul realizes the creator and abstain from commiting sins than only it would return to the creator. So do not worry about whatever you are thinking or intend to do. Our time here is predestined and whatever happens during this life is all an experience that would set your journey for the next life be it a human, dog, mule, monkey or a snake or even a worm. You have to finish your cycle according to the programe set forth and that is what precisely we are doing here till we are exhausted of our karma.
  25. First you must understand that we are all demigods but do not realize it because of maya. We are unable to use our third eye because of our bad karma. If fact our atma is ony occupying this body fro a certain number of years only and if we realize God and the purpose of being here before that time is over than we would liberated from this bondage of birth and death. Other wise it's going to be the same old story of birth suffering and death over and over again. From the spiritual world we have been cast out into the physical world in order to see how we react and to our creators test. Are we following the Dhrama sastra and be kind to all living creatures? These are the qualities out MASTER would want to test us and if we fail that there is no hope of getting back to the spritual world. This is not all and there is more to it but it's only part of the reason we are here. But I this this wil sufice for the moment.
