1. I would Like to let this people catch the mercy, this is a following lecture publicated by devotee Pragosh Das. "Relish Of Renounciation" 2 Feb 68 , Los Angeles http://prabhupadavani.org/lectures/RAMfiles/018LCT.ram Prabhupada: vairagya-vidya-nija-bhakti-yoga- siksartham ekah purusah puranah sri-krsna-caitanya-sarira-dhari krpambudhir yas tam aham prapadye [Cc. Madhya 6.254] This verse was composed by Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya. You know Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya? You have not heard? Devotees: Yes. Prabhupada: Who was he? Who was Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya? Nandarani: He was a great impersonalist who was converted by Lord Caitanya to Vaisnavism. Prabhupada: Yes. And Nandarani knows better than you. (laughter) So girls are intelligent. Yes. Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya was a great impersonalist and a great logician. The impersonalist school, amongst them, there are very, very learned scholars. Sankaracarya himself, he was unique scholar. At the age of eight years only, he studied all the Vedas. And not only he studied, he became a critical student, Sankaracarya. He was incarnation of Lord Siva; therefore nobody can be compared with him. So amongst the impersonalist school, there are many great logicians and high class scholars. But according to Vedic principles, God realization does not depend on material intelligence or scholarship. It is stated in the Vedas, nayam atma pravacanena labhyah: "You cannot realize the self simply by arguments or very scholarly speeches." No. Nayam atma pravacanena labhyo na bahuna srutena: "Neither by studying many, many different types of Vedic literatures." Nayam atma pravacanena labhyo na bahuna srutena na medhaya: "Neither by sharp brain or memory." These are good qualifications -- to be scholarly, to be a very good speaker, and to have very good memorizing power. These are materially very good qualifications. But they are not qualification for realizing God. Then what is the qualification of realizing God? Yam evaisa vrnute tena labhyah: "God can be realized only to whom He reveals-labhyah Katha Upanisad 1.2.23." You cannot oblige God to become manifest before you because you are very good scholar or you are a very rich man or you are very good looking or you have got very good memorizing power. No. Yam evaisa vrnute. When He is pleased, then He reveals unto the devotee. Therefore our business should be, for God realization, to please Him. And that pleasing process is this devotional service. Let us engage in His service, and when He becomes pleased, "Yes. He's very sincerely..." Just like the gopis. They were village girls, not even born of very high family. Cowherds, ordinary agriculturists, cowherds men. So their daughters. So how much education you can...? There was no education practically. In the village even men... In India still, they are ninety-percent illiterate. And what to speak of the girls, the men are not even literate. Because according to Vedic civilization it was not necessary that everyone should go to school. There was no necessity. Because things were being learned by sruti, by aural reception. Knowledge from the perfect man, one would hear, and he would become learned. There was no necessity of, I mean to say, learning ABCD. No. Even in Vedic age, everything was memorized. There was nothing in writing. People were so sharp in brain that once heard from the spiritual master, they will never forget. The brahmacari system made their brain so powerful that whatever they will hear from the spiritual master, they will keep in the brain and never forget. They will repeat verbatim. Smrti. It is called retaining power. So God realization does not depend on material opulence. Material opulence means to take birth in high family, janma. Janma means high parentage. Then... Janmaisvarya, and wealthy, great riches. These are material opulences: high parentage, great riches, and great learning, and great beauty. These four things are material opulences. Janmaisvarya-sruta-sri [sB 1.8.26]. Janma means birth, aisvarya means wealth, and sruta means education, and sri means beauty. So for God realization these things are not essential, but Krsna consciousness movement can utilize everything. So nothing is neglected. That is another point. But if somebody thinks that "I have got all these opulences; therefore God realization is very easy for me," no, that is not. So God realization depends on God, because God, you cannot oblige God by some force. Just like if you have got money, oh, you can do anything nowadays. If you have got strength of wealth, you can have any power, you can do anything. But that does not mean that you can purchase God. No. That is not possible. If you have got beauty, you can conquer over very stalwart, very strong men. Just like what is the... Cleopatra. You have heard the Grecian history. She was very beautiful, and she conquered many great warriors. So beauty sometimes can conquer even the greatest man, but that does not mean beauty can conquer God. No. That is not possible. So the vairagya-vidya-nija-bhakti-yoga [Cc. Madhya 6.254]. To conquer God is bhakti. If you are advanced in devotional service, then you can conquer God. Just like the gopis, as I was speaking, their parentage was not very high, not at all high. Village, agriculturists, farmers, no education, practical... No education at all. And they were not rich at all. Agriculturists, farmers, they are not very rich. So how they conquered Krsna? Krsna was just a play toy in their hands. Gopi-bhava-rasamrtabdhi-lahari. They conquered Krsna simply by devotional service. That's all. They did not know anything except Krsna. They did not, I mean to say, care anything. Simply they were..., always they were thinking of Krsna. The one instance of their absorption in Krsna consciousness is explained, that when Krsna was going on the pasturing ground, the gopis were crying at home. Why? They were thinking that "Krsna's body is so delicate, so soft, that we, when we take His lotus feet and place on our breast or chest, we think it is hard, very hard for Him. So Krsna is walking in the forest. There are so many particles of stones. They are pricking, and how much Krsna is feeling pain." This thinking made, caused their crying, "How Krsna is feeling pain." And the whole day, they will think of Krsna like that, and when Krsna will come back from the pasturing ground, then they will be relieved that "Krsna has now come back." This was their business. Now, this sort of thinking of Krsna does not require any riches or any high parentage or any beauty or any education. So we have to develop such Krsna consciousness. Our, this Gaudiya-sampradaya, Caitanya Mahaprabhu's, in Caitanya Mahaprabhu's descendants, our line of God realization is that separation, feeling of separation. Not that we have got Krsna within our hand. No. The feeling of separation, worship of Krsna by feeling of separation is better than the worship by directly meeting. Vipralambha-seva. So this vairagya-vidya, renunciation... Vairagya-vidya-nija-bhakti-yoga [Cc. Madhya 6.254]. Bhakti-yoga means vairagya-vidya. Vairagya-vidya means no more attachment for this material world. That is vairagya. So bhakti-yoga means vairagya-vidya. So this Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya said, vairagya-vidya-nija-bhakti-yogam. This vairagya-vidya means bhakti-yogam..., siksartham ekah purusah puranah. So Krsna, the supreme original personality, He has come down to teach us this vairagya-vidya. Vairagya-vidya-nija-bhakti-yoga-siksartham ekah purusah puranah, sri-krsna-caitanya-sarira-dhari [Cc. Madhya 6.254]. Sri-krsna-caitanya. Sri Krsna has appeared in the form of Lord Sri Krsna Caitanya. So Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya says, "My respectful obeisances unto Him." So naturally this context came into my mind -- these boys' vairagya. So one who becomes advanced in Krsna consciousness, naturally they become disinterested for any material pompous name.(?) They do not care. So vairagya. This bhakti-yoga means vairagya-vidya. You can chant Hare Krsna. [break] Karandhara: ...Vaisnava earlier. Prabhupada: Oh. What is the price of this? Gargamuni: No charge. Prabhupada: No. What do they sell? Gargamuni: Oh. This drum was broken, but he gave it to us free. I do not know what the... Prabhupada: It was, it is broken? Gargamuni: It was broken, but we fixed it. Prabhupada: Oh. All right. When they give in charity, they give something broken. (laughter) (Bengali) Khana goruke brahmanake dana (?). In India there is a..., charity is given to the brahmanas. So a man saw that his cow is blind. "All right, give it in charity." So charity means... Charity should be the first-class thing if it is really charity. But nowadays people give in charity just for name. "Oh, I am giving something." This charity... You have read Bhagavad-gita. There are three kinds of charity: sattvic, rajasic, tamasic. Sattvic, charity in goodness, is with due consideration that "Here should be given the charity." Just like the Vedic injunction is to give charity to the brahmanas. Why? That is the worthy place, to give charity in the hands of brahmanas and Vaisnava. Real brahmanas. I don't say caste brahmana. Because they will employ whatever you give them in the service of the Lord. Therefore charity, that is sattvic charity. There is no question of profit or name. But, "Charity should be given here. Here is something, God's service." That is sattvic. And rajasic means for the sake of name. "Oh, people will say I am so charitable." That is rajasic. And tamasic, one who does not know where the money is going... Just like in the Bowery Street some, that drunkard comes and polishes the motorcar, and somebody gives five dollars, and he immediately goes to drink. That means this charity means give him impetus for drinking. So if charity creates such drunkard, oh, that is very dangerous. He has to suffer, the man who is giving in charity. Therefore in charity also there must be consideration. It must be sattvic. So anyway, it has come here. So it is sattvic. Whatever his mind may be, anyway, he has given to this temple; so it is sattvic. Chant. (end) >>> Ref. 3. I am not Ekadasi a vishnava, sometimes i do it as, or i remember devotee pals doin´ so, by the day that is time of ekadasi and that this is well done if by the next day is broken the jagña and with some prasadam meals etc. Yes I have heard that by the way this tapas kind of jagña in that has acording to date the acording time of brokin it. In the calendar, vaishnava calendar the hours and days are unique in respect of, u know, the day the month etc, as you hardly will find a repeated day in the same place as the year before that. i think some web pages may have calendars publications. I have not really heard about the hole passtime-jagña, i regard something basic, but not going to speculate - if i remember this ekadasi is been taking place because some kind of incarnation (avatara) bewhildering the mis-liding humanity??.. I have heard many many Ekadasis.. can anyone throw somelight on this special and simple matter? it will be apreciated as well. thanx.
4. in Baaghavaad Guiitaa, as it is, in said purport by his own grace Goswami Prabhupada has been said so much in so simple way.. and by the way - what is that - you said something " Mjollnir around my neck " about studing also. Chapter 3. Karma-yoga TEXT 10 saha-yajnah prajah srstva purovaca prajapatih anena prasavisyadhvam esa vo 'stv ista-kama-dhuk SYNONYMS saha--along with; yajnah--sacrifices; prajah--generations; srstva--creating; pura--anciently; uvaca--said; praja-patih--the Lord of creatures; anena--by this; prasavisyadhvam--be more and more prosperous; esah--certainly; vah--your; astu--let it be; ista--all desirable; kama-dhuk--bestower. TRANSLATION In the beginning of creation, the Lord of all creatures sent forth generations of men and demigods, along with sacrifices for Visnu, and blessed them by saying, "Be thou happy by this yajna [sacrifice] because its performance will bestow upon you all desirable things." PURPORT The material creation by the Lord of creatures (Visnu) is a chance offered to the conditioned souls to come back home--back to Godhead. All living entities within the material creation are conditioned by material nature because of their forgetfulness of their relationship to Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The Vedic principles are to help us understand this eternal relation, as it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita: vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyah. The Lord says that the purpose of the Vedas is to understand Him. In the Vedic hymns it is said: patim visvasyatmesvaram. Therefore, the Lord of the living entities is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Visnu. In the Srimad-Bhagavatam also Srila Sukadeva Gosvami describes the Lord as pati in so many ways: sriyah patir yajna-patih praja-patir dhiyam patir loka-patir dhara-patih patir gatis candhaka-vrsni-satvatam prasidatam me bhagavan satam patih (Bhag. 2.4.20) The praja-pati is Lord Visnu, and He is the Lord of all living creatures, all worlds, and all beauties, and the protector of everyone. The Lord created this material world for the conditioned souls to learn how to perform yajnas (sacrifice) for the satisfaction of Visnu, so that while in the material world they can live very comfortably without anxiety. Then after finishing the present material body, they can enter into the kingdom of God. That is the whole program for the conditioned soul. By performance of yajna, the conditioned souls gradually become Krsna conscious and become godly in all respects. In the Age of Kali, the sankirtana-yajna (the chanting of the names of God) is recommended by the Vedic scriptures, and this transcendental system was introduced by Lord Caitanya for the deliverance of all men in this age. Sankirtana-yajna and Krsna consciousness go well together. Lord Krsna in His devotional form (as Lord Caitanya) is mentioned in the Srimad-Bhagavatam as follows, with special reference to the sankirtana-yajna: krsna-varnam tvisakrsnam sangopangastra-parsadam yajnaih sankirtana-prayair yajanti hi su-medhasah "In this Age of Kali, people who are endowed with sufficient intelligence will worship the Lord, who is accompanied by His associates, by performance of sankirtana-yajna." (Bhag. 11.5.32) Other yajnas prescribed in the Vedic literatures are not easy to perform in this Age of Kali, but the sankirtana-yajna is easy and sublime for all purposes. __________ Easy and sublime... !
5. Cool.. As it is" .Krishna dances in within every jiva i say too. ..In within every planet, every posibility in the cosmos in planets when, I do rich the Krsna knowledge When Prabhu`. swami teaches the rippened fruits -as it is- of knowledge translating though i realize that, there maight be in this even planets in where the cows are sustaning while there its brests droping may see as too taken as a bay-product of chewingrass like so in the cosmos, near the Kalpa trees forests again, the tree of desires. and there in the VEDAS with the injunctions then, is all said about all thing in this very planets is i think in this same planet earth. Imagine though krisna conscious Atmas can do this Kind of real trip. and is not Joking nor despresiating the light though about so the Veda, i do remember the greatest thing about the VEDA is without dwality, and that is teached to Arjun - this is the non dwality sphere. and there the veda is like so all the keys to the Cosmos manifestation order. That i think makes us aware of the unmafifested reality being us on the material sphere. Ohh.. is because al other religions and Dharmas , Dharma.. Dharma comes from Bharat - India. and then Dwality and other religions get spreden in this earth, merged within the dwal-"material" form as to free poeples - is the main teaching of the Dharma. Is great to see further when is somebody/one Krsna conciouss the sphere in where anyone and me also am aware of the importance to know further about and also taking acount the teaching so taken from prabhupada as preach in those other levels of conciouss and in the cosmos in within now the Bhagavatam, shrimat Bhagavataam. That is such a key and to krisna conciouss people the same. and where there is the practice there is also the Joy.Ç In a personal sense. I know Prajapati is even greater ! * JO PANA THAT WHO PA LIYA Have Funn.. and ad never Fall !
6. Yes, food in the mode of ignorance, thats the point, something about those carries me an profound realization as to wether are those a rightfull aproach to the truth - in tracsendece, because is it, having now all realization in the mode of goodness as devotee is situated at the Mushroom as is it not a right way, so when. It became for me seeing also myself in that too, as whom u are in a sensible way, you there could feeeel it.. it carries the magic of the prakrti. and at the bigginig it carries an aproach as having the susteinance of being soul (s) etc.. Is such a key to introduce people to the truth. to the roots of this hughe spiritual tree.. as the Veda ijunctions also are in this material-word manifested. The Mush is something like that, and also carries people to starting expiriencin and in diferent planes of the spiritual sky. As to whether we are souls. It was nice. At the time, but not my way.
7. hehe.. Yeh, the Dung may it be pure, so you could just like roll it, and put it under your bed.. or even stick a bit in your mouth.. off course. let me tell u, Dung is pure Dung.. even parasites grow an as dirty in the Dung may, as could be better. The quality of the Mushroom is to make sense of the treeep also, that open your third eye even as to fly to moon. It makes sense of the things even to as realize the pure conciouss as soul. The Vedis culture teach these things also as to treat it to candle on the Agarbaties (inscense), to purify the atmosphere aslo. So the trip is in terms of intoxications on you mon. But to grab a better conciouss the mush is such a key !! I do not promote these things at - that time my friend and i were in quest of founding joy in the spiritual contexts. remember; "sat chit ananda - vigraha"
8. well, mushroom is an allucinogen. in soft it make sense about the sensible thoughts in your heart.. in my expirience...Bwell. OK .. i would like to tell you about my expirience, i mean is like a healer of the consciouss, it makes you more much more sensible with the outside or outward world in surrowndin you - it may be forbidden by a regulative principle obvious!! it has to do with the matter of being intoxicated, and it endure even for long time. i dont know if mixxin it could with tea be more pasive like etc, I remember picking up some bigg and "Under-PUrple" xilosives from my country souuth America, walking with some Bhakta friend Dude.. Ohh mon, them are fantastic tripys. I just like them so much, I just take a look in the past having each one his own rations, about 20 or 30 each. I just could deal with some little Mushs and in the commin back bus i was like Wuashe.. wouoouuhh... jeje. Me myself seated in that bus so much way relaxed and even contemplating with some fact in my spiritual adjustments, I could even remember that i was no so much concerned with the fact of taking intoxicants that way am not full and right full prospected to make some example. Bhakta friend appeal just to giving those to Shiva and to the mercifull God of Darkness. When he pics them i could remember listenin even to him "om nama shivaya.." and that relax mee even better. So on. in the buss i was just like looking forward from my point of view and like so the impact that those has with the gyan light, i asumme that immersed in the ignorance the mush makes sense of being a soul and realizing that the nature just envolves U, sort of, but the self mastering it. when i look at my frend that hes seatted there on the window by the other side i realize hes a spiritual energy and so when, i turn to my window the clowds are just fantaastic-so much alive, so I feel sort some insecure thing u know, in that fly you are so much sensible, lokkin at him, and later i realize by my window that the clowds change like more fast than a ray of light, but the relation or on the mind is the connection, also that reafirms the kind of thing i was doing because of intoxicating my self.. suddenly. But i was calm down and i could realize the material world is just an mirror. because the musshhs are matterial boons them takes u and even so in reward you could go down also. So the expectations could be more of that being much more mystic involved and thing... i couuld say as far as your mind could hold it too. As regards my expirience it was so good i remember, the companny. it was with some Hare, and so the inquisitiveness of feeling the truth fills me in stance even of undestanding brahman, and so on... By that is not required as far as real spiritual advances are concerned. the best way is to follow sinserely, your self in the Principles. I could even remember some bhakta dudes going and triipin to other planets mon.. the Yoga is the key, to have a good trip. but that not eeven ashures you also that forbidenn is it be. Like when the shastras says, you could go to moon planet but you have to return back.. here. OK, anyway am just a new visitor now. So Have funn.
9. I have some links on this; I post will having to seen your views at this. is kind of conversational link, you could even hear at this ; http://www.prabhupadavani.org/Conversations/Text/115.html any way i will post it. -- May 19, 1975 -- Jesuit: No thank you. How many hours of prayer a day do, say, the men here do? Prabhupada: To worship God, we have got nine processes. One is to hear about God and to speak about God -- sravanam kirtanam. Then, memorizing God's activities. Sravanam kirtanam visnoh smaranam .-sevanam [sB 7.5.23]. Then worshiping his feet -- just like we offer flower to the feet. Sravanam kirtanam visnoh smaranam .-sevanam arcanam. Then Deity worship, just like we are doing in the temple, Deity worship. Then vandanam, offering prayers, just like you do in the church. Vandanam, dasyam, to engage oneself always in the service. Sravanam kirtanam visnoh smaranam .-sevanam arcanam vandanam dasyam. Sakhyam -- to taking as the best friend, considering God as the best friend. Jesuit: Consider God as? Prabhupada: Best friend. Jesuit: Best friend. Prabhupada: Just like Arjuna did. Arjuna worshiped God as friend, the best friend. God is the best friend for everyone. Jesuit: That's right. As John says, "God is love." Prabhupada: Yes. So, dasyam sakhyam atma-nivedanam, to offer everything to God -- whatever I have got, my body, my money, my... everything. These are nine processes: sravanam kirtanam visnoh smaranam .-sevanam arcanam vandanam dasyam sakhyam atma-nivedanam [sB 7.5.23] ....
10. BG 2.51: By thus engaging in devotional service to the Lord, great sages or devotees free themselves from the results of work in the material world. In this way they become free from the cycle of birth and death and attain the state beyond all miseries [by going back to Godhead].
11. short and specifics idles. (-- BG 2.50): A man engaged in devotional service rids himself of both good and bad actions even in this life. Therefore strive for yoga, which is the art of all work. this is riquired.
12. I was going through this sometime, and then I met Devotee, full of KNowledge,-- BRahma Jijñasa --, and then -Sarva Ghata-, mean the soul is free too in this inquisitiveness of the power-source and the empowered - couse.. the devotee sees God within and then in others, such is service, carefully thinkin on that absolute truth. There is some about the empowered karma, people think about holly avatar etc, but I mean, Prahlad is also avatar or incarnation on the body, he´s worshiped - does not do for him not the all knower be. but the purity relies on, then u are also dear to Krsna. the sincerity of the devotee is a bridge to links and truth. sarva ghata that is the process and that is also required, I mean as the goswami he is a self realized soul, just that, but is dear to Krsna in some extent because of service also. Direct from hari. Positive happenin, yes, the other features and names are just the cause of worship too, as this is takin place in personal realization too. thanx. Seva Jaya !
13. ussualy, when i get high and vividly enjoying. even the music without karmic counts sounds from whithin. so on, in whithin you steel having inner Karmas even in devotional desires etc, that is holy, but not holliest than. i mean, thats not my point neither, because we could hear vedic mantras, hear or just listen to them.. in movies; example the matrix, but the ever present truth that dances from each is with the lord hari. whithin each, and the ladies knows how to share this personal energi too, that is sokmething i relly also on these days. so the other more is just endeveour. may you have good wishes in instance when me waching at those. Jaya ! shekar. Nick
14. =vishnu ki shakte= is the escence of a non deviating meditation. when u reach this joy even the mind is fun to comence playin like, then seat at this. those proyecting issues would be helpfull to undestand the nature here, i do think. meditation is related to remembrance. Remembrance - you could be doin also with mind absorved in at then this vishnu shakte walking arrownd. your home, you work, and then at sunset some other preciouss drill at the lottus feet. this carries the process also of drink the nectarin and let us meditation on it. this is better called samadhi, bigginin with meditation. This is not dry knowledge of just the soul and the Supreme Soul. It is very entertaining knowledge.
15. hari dhal. HELLO! you all consciouss members, i have been foundin joy with throughout the forum too. Since I met the original sampradaya of the whom Srila Prabhupad became the Guru cualified to be make this huge endeaviour and labour, as his mission get holds on my way.. I have been expiriencing more and more capability to Overstand also the subtle and trascendental matters of truth. BUt all rests on the purity of tha Vaishnav. Does all the advancements on the spiritual endeviour inquires also the total comitment to it? Overstanding this basic, does all the undestandigs of on truth are basis basic of the soul conciouss endeviour_(jagñas) and thing? This is a huge and prominently disciplinary and sincere path. I mean. I have benn also looking for views.OK! NIce having replys... sincerely Nick_Bhai.
