  1. I'm not sure if this is even a verse or not but, there is a worshiper of Shiva who calls Shiva the supreme god, and Shiva snaps at him and tells he that he is not the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Can someone tell me where this is from and if it's even a verse please.
  2. I get the basic concept of how sanskrit works, with the letters and then marks for different vowels and such. But what do the markings after the sankrit mean? I'll give the example of 8.13 in the Bhagavad-Gita. After the first line it has a | and then after the second line what looks to me like ||93|| can someone please explain this to me?
  3. Hare KRISHNA Hare KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA Hare Hare/Hare RAMA Hare RAMA RAMA RAMA Hare Hare ..That's all I have to say. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

    Madonna & yoga.

She does, she enrolls her kids in Kabaalah classes also. But if memory serves me correct Cher's son is/was a Hare Krishna.

  6. That's a really interesting concept. I think the only real reason for saying "He" when referring to God though is tradition more than anything. I mean let's face it, when most religion's holy books were written it was a VERY sexist time. So it only makes sense that almost all religions refer to God as a Him, because it would command much more respect in a completely sexist society. It is interesting to say though that the wives of the demigods are parts of them, say their more feminine side that actually took a "physical" form independent from the male version of that energy.

    Ultimate Reality

    God, in my humble opinion.
  8. How is it any sicker than a man engaging with a woman in that way when they aren't married or committed to each other? is it not a meaningless selfish act no matter what gender you do it with? people have such a stigma, but you need only to realize that we are all spirit souls, gender is just a by-product. The only real argument that I can see being made is you have to have a man and woman to procreate, but honestly there is a really small amount of people out there actually TRYING to have kids. Sad to say that in the West the main cause for pregnancy is an "accident" in turn the child is born into a stressful situation more often than not, and this is almost always traumatic to the child in one way or another. Now if you look at it that way it's just as sinful as two men or two women engaging in acts that can never lead to procreation.
  9. It's kind of funny that you made this thread cutting down the modern bhramin. I had a friend in school a few years ago who was bhramin. In fact I know this for fact, and he seemed very dedicated. He prayed and didn't eat meat of any kind. But one problem, he was a horrible person. He has selfish and cut down other constantly. Not only that but when we would study Hinduism in school he seemed to know nothing of half of the demigods, which I found odd. Only years later after I became a Krishna do I see how un-bhramin his attitude toward others really was.
  10. Was there not an ancient "third sex" in the Vedic tradition?
  11. No what I meant was Siva is a demigod along with many many more demigods and that Sai Baba is nothing but a fake, he isn't an incarnation of Siva and it's bad to say so.
  12. Haha I thought you were serious for a second. I hope Pedophile Baba doesn't preform a great miracle and pull a club out of some sand and hit me for being such an evil Westerner (haha). But in all seriousness I'd just like to say that Krishnas are some of funniest coolest people I've ever come in contact with. Thanks for making me laugh. /images/graemlins/wink.gif and what I'm about to say is NOT sarcastic: HARE KRISHNA
  13. I have eternal respect for Siva, because he is a truly great devotee of Lord Krishna. What I don't have respect for is people running around claiming that they are an incarnation of Siva.
  14. Hahahaha that was the funniest thing I've ever read, and I really hope you were being sarcastic and a mock Hindu sterotype. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif But it is fact that the Vedas, the holy books that as far as I know Hindus are supposed to read... in them it is stated time and time again, Lord Vishnu is GOD so all of His incarnations are GOD. Krishna is the one GOD. Hare Krishna
  15. Unfortunately I'm not a sexist so I'd have no problem with a girl I was marrying not being a Krishna like I am. Like someone else in here said, why not learn from each others religions? if all religions want to believe in that one true spirit of God then it really makes little difference which path you follow to find God now does it.
