Of course the messiah that is expected - shall not be seen through any second advent of Jesus - because Jesus isn't the prophetically expected messiah - the 'why not' part of that - is a whole other discussion .
So it should be noted that the expected messiah [a complex subject matter] - is a human being - not God - not an incarnation [partial or otherwise] he isn't a demigod - he isn't a 'supernatural' nor divine being at all. - though he is 'different' - in that he has a 'general soul' or - a 'slightly universal' soul.
He doesn't have magic powers. Like in the days of old - God shall work the wonders - during the messianic age.
So what are a few points about this - in the Prophetic tradition.
But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig-tree; and none shall make them afraid; for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken. For let all the peoples walk each one in the name of its god, but we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever. [Micah 4.4-5]
In that quote we see that the messianic age - shall be multi-faith.
But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from ancient days. Therefore will He give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth; then the residue of his brethren shall return with the children of Israel. [Micah 5.1-2]
In that quote we see that the messiah's maternal roots could be traced to this place [Beth-lehem]. To say 'which art little to be among the thousands of Judah' indicates that this was an obscure place - not a place of greatness.
It is a misnomer that he is to be born in Beth-lehem - clearly the texts confirm he is born among the exiles.
In saying 'out of thee shall one come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from ancient days' confirms that he has been reincarnating toward this point for a long time - 'whose goings forth are from of old, from ancient days'.
We also see that Beth-lehem shall not be a part of a State of Israel 'until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth' or - he is born - the text says 'Therefore will He give them up' - so is he talking about Beth-lehem - the Hebrew people in exile [and thus Jursalem] or - both?
The full point is 'Therefore will He give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth; then the residue of his brethren shall return with the children of Israel' - so 'them' indentifies - both those in exile and - Beth-lehem.
So they 'shall return' to where - to an already renewed and infant State or - to just a geographical location or - both?
We must consider that were it not for Jesus and the Faith surronding him - Beth-lehem would certainly have become a nearly deserted and forgotten place [by the time messiah is born somewhere in the exile] and - for Hebrews it [was] is an 'obscure place' a place of 'no mention'.
So we have to then ask - when did Beth-lehem again become part of a State of Israel?
It was on June 05, 1967 - so 'He [will] give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth and - that then should indicate that - he must have to be born just prior to that event.
Consider 'He [will] give them up until the time that she who is to give birth has given birth' - the word 'until' is important - so they are no longer 'given up' right after he is born and - if the messiah is to [alone] accomplish all this - how would he do so - as an infant child? So the use of 'until' means that as soon as he is born - no more position of being 'given up' or seperated from the renewed State.
We can also add that the formal reclamation of all of Jerusalem could/would also coincide with this noted event:
Now why dost thou cry out aloud? Is there no King in thee, is thy Counsellor perished, that pangs have taken hold of thee as of a woman in travail? [Micah 4.9]
After that - there is this description in Zechariah 1.14-17:
...so the angel that spoke with me said unto me: 'Proclaim thou, saying: Thus saith the LORD of hosts: I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy; and I am very sore displeased with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, and they helped for evil. Therefore thus saith the LORD: I return to Jerusalem with compassions: My house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth over Jerusalem. Again, proclaim, saying: Thus saith the LORD of hosts: My cities shall again overflow with prosperity; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
So that part - 'I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy; and I am very sore displeased with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, and they helped for evil.' - that means that God is angry at the nations of the world for it's treatment of His exiled because He was 'but a little displeased' and yet the nations after the exile were to have 'helped for evil' [or helped forward the afflications] and they were 'at ease' with doing so - thus God says 'I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy' - so when we see fruition of the Micah 5.1-2 events we see that God permits all of Jerusalem to be again under an Israeli State.
The State of Israel was first reclaimed after WWII - after the well known last general pogrom [directly under the Nazis and other's indirectly] came to an end - as noted in that quote God thinks that the world could have done more to prevent so much loss and instead they were 'at ease' with the Nazis - for too long - and God sanctioned this renewal - but - with this renewed State - there was a line as it were through [dividing] Jerusalem - until 1967.
It should be mentioned that many propagandists have taken Zechariah 14.2 - 'For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, but the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.' - to mean that there shall be a future war there and 'the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city' - but this not so - as that was fulfilled in 30 C.E. - with the Exile - it should be noted that Muslim rulers later allowed the reestablishment of a Jewish community in Jerusalem thus 'the residue of the people [that] shall not be cut off from the city' means that even after the exile the people were being enabled by God - for a return to a former status as a State or - the end of the Exile!
In text 3-4 we read that sometime after the exile comes "The Day of the Lord" - we note this point in texts three and four:
Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fighteth in the day of battle. And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleft in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, so that there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
So God indeed left mercy and an open door through this 'residue of the people [that] shall not be cut off from the city' - so that means that at some point [after the 30 C.E. exile] - the residue of the exile again comes to Jerusalem.
Additionally - if the world ends up in a sorry state over this point - there may well come this 'vist' - that produces a mountain dividing earthquake - so - in text 7 we read - And there shall be one day which shall be known as the LORD'S, not day, and not night; but it shall come to pass, that at evening time there shall be light. - of course we 'everyone' have choices - that impact everything.
So to the point again - there must have been a State of Israel - already in existence and intended by God - before the time of his birth - as noted by 'then the residue of his brethren shall return with the children of Israel' - it means that there is a State for him and his family and 'the children of Israel' to return to.
So yes these are my humble interpretations but - it could well be that he is already here - what aspects of the future of the State of Israel [and the world] are to be impacted by his appearance - is another discussion.
One thing is sure - whenever it is that he is born - there must have been a State of Israel - already in existence and intended by God [with a securing of Beth-lehem and [all of] Jerusalem with the timing of his birth] - before the time of his birth - as noted by 'then the residue of his brethren shall return with the children of Israel' - it means that there is already a State for him and 'the residue of his family' and 'the children of Israel' to return to.
We can see within this last quote [and through the other's so far] that there is a clear allusion to an exisiting Jerusalem and State - to the seeming surprise of God [and the remant of the people who later begin to return] some time before messiah is born - further - we've seen that God is to show-up in anger - which is noted as being - directed toward the nations - for their helping forward the afflictions of His exiled - when He was 'only a little displeased' - so - at the end of the last and worst pogrom [nazi] God indeed 'showed up' to reclaim Jerusalem and - as expected and 'planned' - He was 'surprised' to see some of His exiled - already there and - because He was sore displeased with the nations - for their 'at ease' adventures in the continual pogroms - He was pleased with finding some remant of His exiled there and He thus began the process - for messiah to be born and - coinciding it with the removal of the dividing-line through Jerusalem:
And the word of the LORD of hosts came, saying: 'Thus saith the LORD of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great fury. Thus saith the LORD: I return unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and Jerusalem shall be called The city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts The holy mountain. Thus saith the LORD of hosts: There shall yet old men and old women sit in the broad places of Jerusalem, every man with his staff in his hand for very age. And the broad places of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the broad places thereof. Thus saith the LORD of hosts: If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvellous in Mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts. [Zechariah 8.1-6]
So later - when the House of The Lord is reestablished by the Lord [and ONLY by the direct efforts of messiah not just the State itself can do this - and it musn't be through violence] - we note this point:
Take with you words, and return unto the LORD; say unto Him: 'Forgive all iniquity, and accept that which is good; so will we render for bullocks the offering of our lips. [Hosea 14.3]
One sad part of this is that messsiah's appearance shall be marked with spurious claims by others - that he is the anti-christ/al-dajjal.

That whole statement is 'bogus' and - it has no relevance to this point in my posting and - it makes no sense.
The "bogus racism" of those around the Jewish communities is what led to those histories - a "racism" that is still very much a part of the global masses - it is delirious - and - those who perpetuate it are greatly bewildered demoniacs.

This shows that at Argonne the Jewish boys from the United States fought for democracy as Joshua fought against the Amalekites on the plains of Abraham. In an address on the so-called "Lost Battalion," led by Colonel Whittlesey of Pittsfield, Major-General Alexander shows the fighting stuff these Jewish boys were made of. In some way or another Whittlesey's command was surrounded. They were short of rations. They tried to get word back to the rear telling of their plight. But Israel is entitled to a place in the sun, and the crucifixion of Jews must stop. We repeat the war is over for everybody, but the Jew. But some power the world must raise up to prevent this decimation of a deserving race. What is at issue here is the exact numbers involved, how they died and who actually benefitted from and promoted the "Holocaust". Hello - was wondering if you were just posting this up for the sake of propaganda or if you were doing so to engage discussion because as it appears it's the former.
The premise is false. The birth of the state of israel was [these are highlights only] bourne out of this:
1200 B.C.E. - Lower Egypt’s remaining Jews are expelled at the end of the 19th Dynasty.
586 B.C.E.. - First Temple in Jerusalem is destroyed by the Babylonians.
168 B.C.E. - The Romans defile the Holy Temple, erecting a statue of Zeus and sacrificing swine. Observance of the Sabbath and circumcision are banned.
0 - The Second Temple is destroyed by the Romans.
73 - Roman troops storm Masada after a 3 year siege. The Jewish inhabitants kill themselves rather than submit to Roman slavery.

I think that Martin Luther embodies the nasty nature to which this thinking can sink to - let's not forget that 'he' was suppossed to be some great 'protestant and reformer' - what was he protesting? And in that war for democracy 200,000 Jewish lads from the United States fought beneath the Stars and Stripes. This shows that at Argonne the Jewish boys from the United States fought for democracy as Joshua fought against the Amalekites on the plains of Abraham. In an address on the so-called "Lost Battalion," led by Colonel Whittlesey of Pittsfield, Major-General Alexander shows the fighting stuff these Jewish boys were made of. In some way or another Whittlesey's command was surrounded. They were short of rations. They tried to get word back to the rear telling of their plight. They tried and they tried, but their men never got through. Paralysis and stupefaction and despair were in the air. Of course, the above document does not mean that the Holocaust never took place. Arch historical revisionist David Irving himself admits that there were "death camps". What is at issue here is the exact numbers involved, how they died and who actually benefitted from and promoted the "Holocaust". Was it in fact the Zionists who used the "Holocaust" to pave the way for the foundation of Israel?
To answer this question, note the opening sentence of the final paragraph: "But Israel is entitled to a place in the sun, and the crucifixion of Jews must stop". The above photograph shows the detail of the ceiling, decorated in multicolored majolica, of the Mashhad MOSQUE in Iran. Look to the left of the photograph directly underneath the leftmost peacock's feet and you will suddenly notice the unmistakeable statue of Shree Vishnu Bhagvan seated in lotus pose with Shankh and lotus in his hands. This is clear hard evidence of the fact that many of the mosques in Islamic countries such as Iran were originally Vedic Temples. This can be supported by the fact that the peacock is a bird indigenous to India and central to Hindu religious iconology. The peacock is not native to Iran nor is the use of iconography encouraged by Islam. Figurative sculpture especially is forbidden in Islam as this amounts to idolatory. In addition please observe the typically Hindu stylized lotus pattern background upon which the sculpture of Shree Vishnu is superimposed in relief. One must logically conclude that this photograph is visual evidence of the Vedic Origin of the Mosque in Mashhad, Iran.

1 cup butter, 2 cups semolina,1 teaspoon salt, 2 cups raw sugar, 2 cups pitted fresh cherries.Roast the semolina (farina works also) in the butter on medium heat till it is golden brown.
Bring your water to a boil and put in the cheeries and salt.
When the semolina is golden brown and getting sandy, add the boiling water and cherries, (watch out it will explode) cook till it starts to get thick and bubbley, put on lid, remove from heat and let set for 5 minutes.
So it's the standard procedure - but use cherries instead of raisens - i'll try this as it sounds like a great combo!

I guess mushrooms aren't satvic? I made a cashew nut loaf with a layer of mushrooms. Made my own tomato sauce from scratch with Roma tomatoes and fresh basil and mustard seeds.No - they aren't but - they ain't flesh either - sounds like a nice preparation!

This morning walk quote elucidates the point clearly and i hope that people do not think Prabhupada is excusing the activity - he is saying that it is too common place in today's world:
Prabhupada: Yes, that is law always. Rape means without consent, sex. Otherwise there is no rape. There was a rape case in Calcutta, and the lawyer was very intelligent. He some way or other made the woman admit, “Yes, I felt happiness [pleasure].” So he was released. “Here is consent.” And that’s a fact. Because after all, sex, rape or no rape, they will feel some pleasure. So the lawyer by hook and crook made the woman agree, “Yes, I felt some pleasure.” “Now, there is consent.” So he was released.... [Morning Walk, May 11. 1975]
So that is a general statement.
In the most direct sense rape isn't about sex - it's about control and - even the western laws take note of circumstances - like the so-called difference in manslaughter and first degree murder - the courts make a distinction - also - note his comment - "the lawyer by hook and crook made the woman agree" - so - there it is.
We have to understand Prabhupada's awareness of a particular point and understand his comments in proper context. Too often people read such things and conclude that Prabhupada condones such an activity and we here all know that nothing could be further from the truth.
We do have a situation in our world now where the push for so-called political correctness has jaded people's understandings in so many ways - we know that Prabhupada was saying 'some women' not all women may have this 'propensity'
Without a doubt - there are a great deal of sexually aggressive people [everywhere] in the world - male and female and - it isn't dispargement of women to say so. When these people interact who knows the sorted results which become possible...

I have better things to do than sort out the logical tangles of such a discussion.The fact is even if vaisnavas could convince me that Christianity was some bogus made up religion (which would take some doing), it wouldn't advance G Vaisnavism one iota.
My whole purpose in posting to this forum, is that I was caught in an impossible dilemna- I was attracted to chanting and horrified by the diksa guru process.
After discussing with these 'elevated' vaisnavas I decided I would be better off continuing with my Christian faith and forget about chanting.
I told you what to do - forget gurus and forget chanting if you like - pray and study - sincerely - and you'll find your way - just know that God is not limited to the Christian [or any other for that matter] tradition and know the truth an facts about Jesus and you'll be fine - if you don't wish to sort out the messiah issues then your simply embracing blindly - because if you really believe in God - you'll go where that may take you - even if it's in a place where such things are at question. I can say with absolute certainty I've never seen cows eating meat.Well where have you been - they have been feeding cows to cows for years - they feed blood to baby cows - at least if milk from cows is offered to God - with sincere love - there may be some hope for these cows - but - without that - there is nothing but some hideous reflection of 'natural' in all of this.
Yes it is prudent to quit eating animals - as even the bible asks this of us - there is that one [there are more] verse in Isaiah 'Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good' - that means that we take our food as a by-product of an animal [like butter and honey] - not in the form of the animal itself.
As you can see in this video - one can have a meat like substance and not have all the hormones and diseases and other nasty things found in meat [not only the karma] - if one is lacto one can use butter oil to impart the gamey taste to the soy chunks - when made correctly - they are very close to 'beef' in fact -we've given them to people who are not vegetarians and they think it's some kind of meat - they are surprised to learn it's soy - so have a look at it - what you see in the wok is only 2.5 cups dry soy chunks [the cost here is $4.40 a kilo dry] - soy has much more in volume when moistened and cooked - it is less than 1/10 the cost of flesh:

The questions that are frequently asked are these: "Why should it be at all necessary to submit to any particular person or to to any particular ceremony for the purpose of realizing the Absolute, Who, by His nature, is unconditioned? Why should Krishna require our formal declaration of submission to Himself?
Admitting that it is our duty to serve Krishna, why should we have to be introduced to Him by a third party? Why is it impossible for one to serve Sri Krishna directly?" It would no doubt be highly convenient and helpful to be instructed by a good Preceptor, who is well-versed in the Scriptures, in understanding the same.
But one should never submit to another to an extent that may furnish a rascal with an opportunity of really doing harm. The bad preceptor is a familiar character. It is inexplicable how those gurus, who live in open sin, contrive, nevertheless, to retain the unquestioning allegiance of the cultured portion of their disciples.
Such being the case, can we blame any person who hesitates to submit unconditionally to a preceptor, whether he is good or bad? It is, of course, necessary to be quite sure of the bona fides of a person before we accept him, even tentatively, as our spiritual guide. A Preceptor should be a person who appears likely to possess those qualities that will enable him to improve our spiritual condition.
Those and similar thoughts are likely to occur to most persons who have received an English education, when they are asked to accept the help of any particular person as his spiritual Preceptor. The literature, science, and art of the West body forth the principle of the liberty of the individual and denounce the mentality that leads one to surrender his right of choosing his own course to another, however superior a person. They inculcate the necessity and high value of having faith in oneself.
But the submission of the disciple is neither irrational nor blind. It is complete, on condition that the Preceptor himself continues to be altogether good. The disciple retains the right of renouncing his allegiance to the preceptor the moment he is satisfied that the preceptor is a fallible creature like himself.

With Prabhupada's vani - we get everything we need - most of which is common sense no matter our faith leanings.
Of course we need a teacher - that is never the question here - it is a question of who and what.
You're posting this quote from Srila Prabhupada's guru or teacher and it is good for this discussion. However - i feel that despite the point that we need advanced devotees to associate with - most people are going to learn more from Prabhupada's vani - in a shorter time - than shall in the 'traditional' guru arrangement.
Of course even these days - people take initiation and have a guru but - hardly ever see this guru - they may get an hour a year out of their guru - so where and from whom do they learn during the guru's away time?
Prabhupada is our best connection for answers. We have to accept that he is the most qualified of gurus for the modern age - with extensive writings etc., to deliver us from ignorance.

Socialism is a fantastic tool for introducing people to the concept of consciousness expansion and its also a practical means to help people gain a sense of the world in which they live in. I wish I had had an opportunity to present those ideas to Prabhupada to see what he would have thought, but that I cannot do. I am not remotely convinced anyone as yet have convincingly responded to this with Prabhupada's mood and so I guess I'll never know.Prabupada knew all about socialism and communism you have nothing to teach him on this point - his world was sore impacted by the socialists and communists...

If you go to India you will find this system of the disciples living with their guru and very senior devotees still going on for the most part. How else will you learn how an experience and advanced Vaisnava feels, thinks and acts in specific situations like the kind you will face in your practical devotional life? Yes, the precepts are now codified in books, but you need personal association to learn the Vaisnava sadacara or behaviour of Vaisnavas.How many letters and conversations are found in the vedabase?
I think that one can surmise what an 'advanced Vaisnava feels, thinks and acts in specific situations like the kind you will face in your practical devotional life' in these - if you cannot - then by all means - go live with some guru and hope that you get the 'real' thing.
Just think - many who go to live with these gurus are looking more for some esoterica and not - practical realizations...

I didn't know who it was from but here is the quote again since it is so relevant to my point.There is no mood but trying to support a point with evidence, a point that keeps getting denied as bogus, bunk...etc as though its just a product of my defiant imagination. There is so much evidence out there.
Denied as bogus because it is bogus - as noted before - it's all a matter of informed perspective.
Of course - that quote isn't 'relevant' - you don't even know who it is - where it is - so what we know is that there are many such cheaters - that doesn't negate the facts and that is that you and - many many others - have wrong ideas about what is a guru and what our dealings might be with some guru.

In Bhagavad Gita 4.34 God says:
Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.
So what sort of service do we think that God is speaking of? Take it from there - if it becomes jaded into something else - we know that it has taken leave of this verse.
The idea here is that when we are with this teacher we are going to help him - by way of menial service - usually devotional service if the guru is qualified - that is how we serve the guru - by asking questions and doing nice service - if it is taken that we are to serve the bodily needs of the guru and that is 'service' - then that is cheap:
...Because demoniac people want to be cheated, so many cheaters are present to cheat them. At the present moment in this age of Kali-yuga, the entire human society has become an assembly of cheaters and cheated. For this reason the Vedic scriptures have given us the proper directions for sense gratification... [sB 4.26.6, purport]
So again it is up to us to know the truth and if some bogus guru or pastor or whatever is cheating us and - if it goes on for some time - one may have to ask if it is that way - due to our being a cheater too.
An example:
...In some religious sects a sinful man goes to a priest to confess his sinful acts and pay a fine, but then he again commits the same sins and returns to confess them again. This is the practice of a professional sinner... [sB 6.1.9, purport]
In another posting i mentioned that in this vedic path there are nine processes for devotional service:
'hearing [reading is hearing too], chanting, remembering, serving, worshiping, praying, obeying, maintaining friendship [with God] and surrendering everything'
So chanting is only one item - hearing is only one - praying is only one - pick one and - do it with great faith and - you'll see success. These nine methods are 'the way' for any sincere seeker in any faith - it's all a science if you will.
So please don't make everything so narrow and blighted.
If i may i would like to share [if it's worth anything] that i too have great stress and pain in my life right now - I have endured a state induced abuse - for nearly five years now [don't want to get into what it is right now] - even i have occasion at times to become frustrated and to 'question' - but - that is where our 'real' faith in God comes in - we are not to limit God in our lives - God is God and - He has given us many scriptures - vedic and biblical - for us to learn from and - at times of great stress and questioning - it is having a good and broad scriptural education - which gets me through....
As for the point of our false ego being broken - God does that to us through life experiences - not that his servants are to forge some 'program' to do it for Him.
I used to say to one devotee that i know that i felt that they didn't see a devotee's surrender as genuine - unless it was induced by a nervous breakdown - like in the dark ages during the inquisition - a confession was not seen as full or even 'sincere' - if not effected with torture.
Some so-called servants of God - within all faiths - are infected with this nonsense.
We can use our minds and know that this is not the way that it's supposed to be and to make adjustments - for our own spiritual well-being.
God Bless you and i know that you shall find your faith footing and - you are correct - you have to find your faith in God and - that it must be independant of - or rather - not dependant on any other person must be realized too. It's just us and God - that's all [the rest must follow from there].

No my position is quite clear and - so are those of the two noted apostates - of course - i can see that you have no real position here and - you are a coward - why no name? COWARD!
