  1. What about so many proofs that evolutionists give based on fossil records? How do you decide what is a theory and what is a fact? Why should intelligent design not be considered as a theory? Why should the faith in Science exclude the faith in intelligent design? Why can't the two go together? When you apply natural selection, then it is no longer purely random.
  2. In the following sense:- "Evolution is the change in the frequencis of alleles in populations of organisms from generation to generation." Isn't this definition accepted in Science also?
  3. Adaptation is the notion that some traits make it more likely for an organism to sutvive in an environment when subject to natural selection. Therefore, by the very definition of adaptation, selection is a must for adaptation. It is also true that evolution is often used in the sense of adaptation. In that sense, selection becomes must for evolution (in the sense in which the word evolution is often used). But let us see what evolution really means. "Evolution is the change in the frequency of alleles in populations of organisms from generation to generation." If we go by this definition of evolution, then it is possible for evolution to happen even without selection. I could not resist from making the previous post because of the usage of the words 'only when' in a post of yours. When you say evolution happens only when there is selection pressure, then it is same as saying that evolution is not at all possible without selection. Also, as I came to know from the last post of yours, you are using the word 'evolution' in the sense in which people often use it (i.e. adaptation). But I am using it in the strict sense in which it is defined.
  4. As per your post, selection pressure is a must for evolution. In other words, evolution is impossible without selection pressure. But this is not so. Evolution can happen even without selection pressure. It is also true that without selection pressure the evolution would take far longer to cause the kind of changes in population than we see. But, at least in theory, evolution can happen without selection pressure. Selection pressure is one of the mechanisms by which evolution takes place but it is not a necessity. What is a necessity is the variation between genetic differences between the individuals of a population.
  5. If dinosaurs were killed in the sarpa yajna, why do we not find their fossils?
  6. If don in brendon is pronounced like the English word "done", then the Devanagiri representation is as drkpp has written. But if it is pronounced like english word 'don', then it will be a little different.
  7. Which text is correct depends on how you pronounce Youksamai.
  8. No, yonder does not mean sorcerers. Yonder is used for somebody or something, which is at a distance but is within view. Sometimes we say "that person" referring to somebody who is at a distance from us but we are able to see him. We can say 'yonder person'. It is also used to refer to something/somebody, which has been mentioned before even if it is not in sight. For example 'yonder country' referring to a country which the speaker has mentioned earlier so that the listener knows what country is being referred to.
  9. Just select the Hindi text drkpp has written. Copy it and paste it into notepad or any text editor.
  10. I am assuming that i in Elli (or y in Elly) is pronounced like ee in see? I am also assuming that May is pronounced like the month May. If my assumptions are correct, then Ellie Mai should be written as follows:-
  11. drkpp, You have written Shannon differently. In fact the correct representation in Devanagiri depends on how Shannon is pronounced. We both have assumed that sh is pronounced like sh in shower. I have assumed joint sound nn. You have assumed a single n sound. I have assumed that o is pronounced like o in no. You have assumed that o is pronounced like first o in doctor. Which of the two is correct of course depends on the correct pronunciation.
  12. Please tell how your daughter's name is pronounced.
  13. How Shannon (or any word) is written in Hindi depends on how it is pronounced because Hindi is a phonetic language. I am assuming that Shannon is written the way it is pronounced. If you need Shannon in Hindi for a different pronunciation, then tell me the pronunciation and I will give Hindi text for that pronunciation. But, for now, Shannon in Hindi as it is pronounced:- Note: You have written that you need it for a card. Will you write Shannon in Hindi in that card manually?
  14. Isn't Shannon pronounced the way it is written?
  15. Going by Bhagavatam, Krishna's appearance was before Christ's.
  16. Consider the case in which one consonant sound is followed by another consonant sound. There is a vowel sound after the second consonant sound but there is not vowel sound between the two consonant sounds. As I mentioned earlier, half letter should be used for the first consonant sound and full for the second (but keep in mind the special case when one of the two consonants is r, which I explained in one thread). Assume you have to write kt. Use half letter for k and next to it put full letter for t. Half letter for k is:- Full letter fot t is To write kt in Devanagiri, you should put devanagiri of half k and close and next to it, the devanagiri for full t. Then you will get correct kt. This is correct, but often in practice, kt is written as Now consider tt. This means half t followed by full t. Half t is:- After this put the symbol for full t. You will get correct Devanagiri for tt. But, often in practice, tt is written as :-
