  1. When first reading Is Jiva Gosvami’s philosophy the same as Sri Caitanya’s?, my first thought was, how could this question sprung up in the first place? Seems ISKCON pundits like Dina Dayala dasa (Dario Knez) have the answer. Is Jiva Gosvami’s philosophy the same as Sri Caitanya’s? Dina Dayala dasa (Dario Knez) <hr align="left" size="1" width="33%"> Introduction Jiva Gosvami (1513-1598) is the youngest of the six Gosvamis of Vrindavana who are honoured as genuine representatives of the teachings and faith of Caitanya Mahaprabhu (1486-1534). All of them, except Jiva Gosvami, were personally inspired, instructed or commissioned by Caitanya. (Kapoor, 1984, 54). It seems that Jiva did not have the privilege to associate with and learn from Caitanya; in 1535, at the time he joined Vrindavana’s group, Caitanya had already left the world. At the same time, Jiva was fortunate to be trained by the two Gosvamis’ leaders, his uncles, Sanatana (1488-1558) and Rupa (1489-1564). From Rupa he received initiation. FULL ARTICLE
  2. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/466/story.cfm?c_id=466&objectid=10465926 Brian Rudman: From the divine to the ridiculous - doppelgangers and slurpers 5:00AM Wednesday September 26, 2007 By Brian Rudman and William Dart Brian Rudman These are spooky times. At the last parliamentary elections we had the Exclusive Brethren trying to secretly infiltrate themselves into the political process. Now we have the Hare Krishnas popping up on the business card of Auckland mayoral hopeful Steve Crow. Open www.asitis.com, the website listed on his campaign business card and up pops an image of His Divine Grace Swami Prabhupada, founder of the Hare Krishna movement and remarkable lookalike of our very own Sex Swami, Steve Crow. The page is headed with a promise of "pleasure secrets revealed", which seems appropriate for a man in Mr Crow's special trade. Could it be, we have the chance to elect as our next mayor, the reincarnation of the great hippy cult leader? How world class that would be. Imagine our bureaucrats and councillors in yellow robes and plastic sandals and waif-like. Imagine, no more cream buns and sausage rolls at council meetings. "Oh my God," was Swami Steve's reaction, "what are you talking about?" He pulled out his card and gasped. It was a "Freudian slip" that no one had noticed until now. His real site, he says, is www.asitis.co.nz. But can we be sure? Talking Freudian mysteries. Why is it that Auckland theatre-goers can no longer survive an hour without the need to suckle or slurp. It's not as though anyone is about to succumb from dehydration. Scientists tell us that humans can survive without a drink passing their lips for five or six days. But tell that to the two grown-ups I sat near on Saturday night at Auckland Theatre Company's latest production My Name is Gary Cooper. The lights had hardly dimmed when out came a plastic water bottle and the pair took turns, passing it back and forth, to nurse away like unsettled babes. Admittedly, the play was set in sultry Samoa and California, but the theatre itself was not that hot! Across town at the Steely Dan concert, Sally James of Ponsonby was observing the same phenomena. "Rather than a concert venue, the Vector Arena is more like a very large pub," she wrote in yesterday's Herald. "There was constant movement, with punters going for drinks throughout the performance. Is the arena for enjoying music or just another place to sell as much alcohol as possible?" A few days earlier, music critic William Dart, at a concert by the New Zealand String Quartet at the Hopetoun Alpha, noted that "finger food and wine were available (which made for an unexpected and unfortunate percussive moment during Mozart, when a wine-glass toppled on the hard wooden floor.)" Meanwhile, at the Edge you have attendants in the bars offering concert-goers cheap plastic doggy bag-type receptacles, about the size of a hospital urine bottle, into which to pour their interval dregs - and/or top ups - so they can take them back into the Town Hall or Aotea Theatre for the second half. You've got to hand it to Edge chief executive Greg Innes, he doesn't give up easily. He first tried to launch this "innovation" in the dying months of last century and got a giant boo from users for his efforts. Only 15 per cent wanted the right to drink through Beethoven's 5th compared to 76 per cent who were against. The opposition came from both the high and low brow Edge users. As result, the experiment was quietly shelved. Now the project has been quietly dusted down again, I'm sure a new poll would produce similar results. If we want to slurp away on a glass of wine and nibble nuts while listening to our Shostakovich, we can do it listening to a CD at home. When we go to a live performance though, we don't want to be distracted by sipping neighbours. As I said when Mr Innes first bruited the idea, I'd be happy to support it, if it was restricted to me only, because I'm the only person I know I can trust not to disturb myself, or to kick my wine glass over in the middle of the slow movement. A cyclist colleague suggests the solution might be for venues to hire out cyclist bladders - backpack affairs with a little drinking hose attached. I think he was joking. Alternatively, there's always the intravenous drip.
  3. Since thousands of years a very similiar situation is there in all the other religions who believe in God. Somehow the followers of other religions seem to be more humble in drawing conclusions than present Vaishnavas. Present Vaishnava mentality is to even immediately quit their sadhana when such kind of controversy comes up. So better to remain at the ABC level.
  4. Partha-sarathi Prabhu writes from the battlefield of Iraq, Sep 25, 2007: "Dear Devotees, Please accept my most fallen and unworthy obeisances, All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Hare Krsna, I am writing this letter to explain myself and my motives behind what I am doing in Iraq. I am not here to be a hero, make waves in ISKCON and certainly not to make Srila Prabhupada and place a negative preception of ISKCON. I joined the Army prior to becoming a devotee. While some talk harshly about my being there, and some praise me, the fact is that I am stuck here. I signed my name and gave my word to lead soldiers. After reading Srila Prabhupada's books, I have understood that Srila Prabhupada wanted us to take advantage of any chance we have to preach this wonderful message. This brings me to Iraq (the fourth time), where after years of preaching in the Army, am finally getting facility and means to cultivate and introduce jivas to Srila Prabhupada's books. To be able to have a Ratha Yatra on a US Army base, to be given a building to be used for educating and advancing this culture. Will all do respect to all the devotees. None of you are here, none of you have to have someone covered in blood and die i your arms and see that his only hope is to hear the Holy Name. I believe if not mistaken Srila Prabhupada wanted us to develop a quality called compassion. It is lonely here and while most live a community of devotees, I live not in a comfortable temple, but in a war zone. There is no life here, only death. Death of the material body and even more importantly death of the interest in spiritual life. But when they hear about Krsna….. their lives light up. All of you are more advanced and senior than me, after all I am just a dumb soldier but I ask each of you, do these soldiers not deserve the right and opportunity to learn about Krsna? Do they not deserve a chance to end the cycle of birth and death? I am not a savior but Srila Prabhupada is and if I have to go through all of this to bring one to Srila Prabhupada, then it is worth. That is my desire, no it is my DUTY to Srila Prabhupada and to my Spiritual Master. It is the duty of all that claim to be a Vaisnava. Where would we be if Srila Prabhupada never left India? We would be rotting in the material suffering. Contrary to some, not all of us soldier are the cause of the greatest horrors. A shame, such a broad and intelligent movement and such narrow minded thinking. After all, with this logic should we label ever Hare Krsna as a demon after the events of the late 1970's and 1980's? These men and women are thirsty for the nectar of Bhagavad-Gita. Who here has the right to take the cup of nectar away, that would relieve their thirst? With all this said, I ask all the devotees to look past politics, to look past their personal opinions and for a chance be supportive of one another. After all, as Srila Prabhupada said "the dogs may bark, but the caravan will pass. Please forgive me for any offenses I have made. It is not my desire to upset anyone. I fall at each of your feet repeatedly and beg for your forgiveness. yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada, Partha-sarathi dasa
  5. What the founder spiritual master of the Hare Krishnas, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada would mention is, 6. Thou shalt not kill. On one side Christians say animals have a soul on the other side they say, "Thou shall not kill" refers to one should not murder. Thats what Vaishnavas find a little contradicting. Next, what is the soul, the Bible somehow sits on the fence and doesnt want to say clearly what is the soul. Just like you have a math book for elementary school, you won't find in that book, explanations about linear algebra. This doesnt mean that this school book is useless, no, but it is not meant for higher studies what is the constitutional position of the soul. This knowledge we find in the Vedas. Again, the Bible is not inferior, but it explains nowhere what is the immortality of soul. Even the very word "soul" is not mentioned not to be found in the biblical vocabulary but rather the term is being used, "living entity". Therefore we find so many different camps among Christians who say, the soul is identical with the material body, the soul dies after this life when one doesnt become a Christian, the soul is made of material elements, in sum the soul is not immortal but what is said is, God created man in His image. His image, God is eternal but his children are not eternal? So this is no critizism but clearly there is knowledge missing what we dont find in the Bible. The Vedas say: For the soul there is never birth nor death. Nor, having once been, does he ever cease to be. He is unborn, undying and eternal. He is not slain when the body dies or is killed. Bhagavad-gita 2.20 For example, the Mundaka Upanishad (3.1.9) explains that the living being is the soul, and that: “The soul is atomic in size and can be perceived by perfect intelligence. This atomic soul is situated within the heart, and spreads its influence all over the body of the embodied living entities. When the soul is purified from the contamination of the five kinds of material air, its spiritual influence is exhibited.” The Chandogya Upanishad (6.11.3) also states that although the body withers and dies when the self or soul leaves it, the living self does not die. Further enlightenment is given in the Srimad-Bhagavatam (7.2.22) wherein it explains that the spirit soul has no death and is eternal and inexhaustible. He is completely different from the material body, but because of being misled by misuse of his slight independence, he is obliged to accept subtle and gross bodies created by the material energy and thus be subjected to so-called material happiness and distress. The eternal nature of the self is also explained in Bhagavad-gita by Lord Sri Krishna where He specifically says that there was never a time when He did not exist, nor any of the living beings, including you. Nor shall any of us cease to be in the future. The embodied soul continually passes from boyhood to youth to old age in this body. Similarly the soul enters another body at the time of death. But for one who is self-realized, there is no bewilderment through such a change. Certainly this knowledge can relieve anyone from the anxiety that comes from thinking our existence is finished at death. Spiritually, we do not die; yet, the body is used until it is no longer fit to continue. At that time, it may appear that we die, but that is not the case. The soul continues on its journey to another body according to its destiny. The indestructibility of the soul is also explained. The individual soul is unbreakable and insoluble, and can be neither burned nor dried. The soul is everlasting, unchangeable, and eternally the same. Knowing this, we should not grieve for the temporary body. So, the body dwindles and dies but the soul does not die: it simply changes bodies. Therefore, the body is like a shirt or coat that we wear for some time, and when it is worn out, we change it for a new one. Therefore, the Vedic literature, such as the Chandogya Upanishad (8.1.1), mentions that knowledge of the self within is what should be sought and understood by all. Realizing one’s spiritual identity solves the problems and mysteries of life. The more we realize our spiritual identity, the more we will see that we are beyond these temporary material bodies, and that our identity is not simply being a white body, or black, or yellow, or fat, skinny, intelligent, dumb, old, young, strong, weak, blind, etc. Real blindness means not being able to see through the temporary and superficial bodily conditions and into the real person within. Seeing reality means to recognize the spiritual nature of everyone. The Srimad-Bhagavatam (11.28.35) explains that the soul is self-luminous, beyond birth and death, and unlimited by time or space and, therefore, beyond all change. The Bhagavatam (11.22.50) also points out that as one witnesses the birth and death of a tree and is separate from it, similarly the witness of the birth, death, and various activities of the body is within but separate from it. The size of the soul is also described in the Svetasvatara Upanishad (5.9): “When the upper point of a hair is divided into one hundred parts and again each of such parts is further divided into one hundred parts, each such part is the measurement of the dimension of the spirit soul.” So considering that the diameter of a typical hair is about three-thousandths of an inch wide, then to divide that into one hundreds parts, and then divide one of those parts again into one hundred parts means that it would be microscopic. And since it is spiritual and not made of material substance, to perceive the presence of the soul is not so easy. It is invisible to our material vision. The Katha Upanishad relates that within the body, higher than the senses and the sense objects, exists the mind. More subtle than the mind is the intelligence, and higher and more subtle than the intellect is the self. That self is hidden in all beings and does not shine forth, but is seen by subtle seers through their sharp intellect. From this we can understand that within the gross physical body, composed of various material elements, such as earth, air, water, etc., there is also the subtle body composed of the finer subtle elements of mind, intelligence and false ego. The psychic activities take place within the subtle body. It is also within the subtle body wherein exist the memories of past lives, however deep they may be. Yet, the living being has his spiritual form that is deeper than this subtlety, otherwise he could not have repeated births. A person actually sees his spiritual self as well as the presence of the Supreme Being when he perceives that both the gross and subtle bodies have nothing to do with the pure, spiritual self within. Therefore, it could be asked that since we are separate from the gross and subtle bodies, why do we so strongly identify with the material body? It is explained that though the material body is different from the soul, it is because of the ignorance due to material association that one falsely identifies oneself with the high and low bodily conditions. It is further elaborated that only because of the mind and ego that we experience material happiness and distress. Yet, in actuality, the spirit soul is above such material existence and can never really be affected by material happiness and distress in any circumstance. A person who truly perceives this has nothing to fear from the material creation, or the appearance of births and deaths. Thus, he can attain real peace. The Chandogya Upanishad (8.1.5-6) goes on to explain that the self is free from sin and old age, death and grief, hunger and thirst, lamentation and sadness, and all forms of bodily identification. It desires only what it ought to desire, and imagines nothing but what it ought to imagine. Those who depart from this life without having discovered the self and those true or spiritual desires have no freedom in all the worlds. But those who depart from here after realizing one’s genuine spiritual identity and those spiritual inclinations have freedom in all the worlds. So, to summarize, the soul is a particle of consciousness and bliss in its purified state of being. It is not material in any way. It is what departs from the body at the time of death and, in the subtle body, carries its mental impressions, desires and tendencies, along with the karmic results of its activities from one body to another. To understand and perceive this self, which is our genuine spiritual identity, is the real goal of life. Such a realization relieves one of further material existence. As it is explained, those who have purified their consciousness, becoming absorbed in spiritual knowledge and absolving any impurities in the mind, are liberated from karma that frees them from any future births. They are free from any more births in the material world and are delivered to the spiritual atmosphere. How to do this is the ultimate accomplishment of human existence.
  6. This might be the crux - we try to understand with our tiny brains what is the situation in the transcendental world - an attempt which is an antagonism in itself. Therefore we find the great acaryas quite reserved to encourage such proceeding. Or as it is said, such things can only be understood when it is revealed to you be genuine spiritual mercy, by chanting the Holy Names it will be finally revealed. "This knowledge is the king of education, the most secret of all secrets. It is the purest knowledge, and because it gives direct perception of the self by realization, it is the perfection of religion. It is everlasting, and it is joyfully performed." BG 9.2
  7. Looks like Prabhupada's lectures were ahead of time and presently more up to date than ever - speed is ruling. "We are running so fast for going to hell. This is our position, because we do not know what is the destination." "[...]The dog is also running, and a man is also running. But a man thinks he is very much civilized because he is running on motorcar. Both of them are running, but a man has got a particular type of body by which he can prepare a vehicle or cycle, and he can run on. He is thinking that “I am running in greater speed than the dog; therefore I am civilized. This is the modern mentality. He does not know that what is the difference between running on fifty miles speed or five miles speed or five thousand miles speed or five millions miles of speed. The space is unlimited. Whatever speed you discover, it is still insufficient. Still insufficient. So this is not life, that “Because I can run in more speed than the dog, therefore I am civilized.” panthās tu koti-śata-vatsara-sampragamyo vāyor athāpi manaso muni-pungavānām so ’py asti yat-prapada-sīmny avicintya-tattve govindam ādi-purusam tam aham bhajāmi [bs 5.34] Our speed… What for speed? Because we want to go to certain destination, that is his speed. So the real destination is Govinda, Vishnu. And na te viduh svārtha-gatim hi vishnu. They are running in different speed, but they do not know what is the destination. Our one big poet in our country, Rabindranath Tagore, he wrote an article—I read it—when he was in London. So in your country, western countries, the motorcars and the…, they run in high speed. So Rabindranath Tagore, he was poet. He was thinking that “These Englishmen’s is country so small, and they are running on so great speed they will fall in the ocean.” He remarked like that. Why they are running so fast? So similarly, we are running so fast for going to hell. This is our position, because we do not know what is the destination. If I do not know what is the destination and try to drive my car in full speed, then what will be the result? The result will be disaster. We must know why we are running. Running means just like the river is running in great tide, flowing, but the destination is the sea. When the river comes to the sea, then its destination gone. So similarly, we must know what is the destination. The destination is Vishnu, God. We are part and parcel of God. We are… Somehow or other, we are fallen in this material world. Therefore our destination of life will be to go back to home, back to Godhead. That is our destination. There is no other destination. So our Krishna consciousness movement is teaching that “You fix up your goal of life.” And what is that goal of life? “Back to home, back to Godhead. You are going this side, opposite side, toward the side of hell. That is not your destination. You go this side, back to Godhead.” That is our propaganda. by Drdha Vrata dasa http://www.drdhaarts.com/ So we have not manufactured this; this is the standard. Just like Krishna says, sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇam [bg. 18.66] “Why you are unnecessarily running just like dog?” That street dog, we have seen just now on the beach, he has no master. So sometimes he is running this way, sometimes this running way, and he saw us. He knows—after all, he is a living being—that “There are some Vaishnavas. So let me go with them if they will give us shelter.” That is the purpose. He was coming. You were making, “Hut!” But he wanted some master, because a dog without master, his position is very precarious. Without master… So we are all servant. Every one of us, we are all servants of māyā. Māyā means we are servant of our desires. We are servant of our different desires. Somebody is thinking, “I shall be happy in this way”; somebody is thinking, “I shall be happy in this way.” In this way we have got different desires, and we are servant of the desires. So servant of desire means just like the street dog. He is also desiring: “If these gentleman will accept me as his dog?” But he is going there, and he is driven away: “Hut! Hut!” He is going to some house, moving his tail, “My dear sir, will you give me some food?” “No, no. Go away.” We are also going also: “My dear sir, will you give me some service?” “No vacancy. Get out.” This is our position. Hana māyāra dāsa kori nāna abhilāsa. Because we are constitutionally servant of God, but we have given up that service, we have now become the servant of māyā. Therefore our life is frustrated, because you do not know “What is my actual position.” Caitanya Mahāprabhu teaches, jīvera svarūpa haya nitya krishna dāsa [Cc. Madhya 20.108-109]. Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s teaching, that “Why you are going door to door like a dog: ‘Will you give me some food, give me some duty? I am prepared to serve you,’ and refusing, nāna abhilāsa, and desiring again and again, this way, that way?” But I do not know what is my real destination, how I shall be happy. That information is given by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, that “You are suffering in this way for a permanent service to become happy. Why you are going here and there? You are servant of Krishna. Go there. Then you will be happy.” Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.1.45 - Laguna Beach, July 26, 1975
  8. Thanks Sarva gattah, yes, Prabhupada and all the great acaryas of our sampradaya and all the other sampradayas surely explained things in such way that it is meant for the understanding of everyone - easily to be understood. Why things should be complicated?
  9. Somehow this seems a topic for many Vaishnavas, what is the Vaishnavas opinion concerning preaching of the Holy Name in war zones like Iraq? Should the Holy Names of Hare, Krishna and Rama or acaryas not be associated with any army for the time being? Machine gun in one hand and prasadam in the other! How will Muslim children and women observe such a contradiction? The US Army is despised all over the world for this war, including in the USA, as it is a war for stealing the petrol/oil of Arabic countries, of controlling this region of the planet, and not really to implement democracy which could be somewhat used to establish travelling Kirtan parties. It's a very serious matter for the future reputation of ISKCON and Srila Prabhupada, and all senior devotees should give their opinion about this issue. Those who know the despicable history of Christianity (followed by Islam),when the Vatican spread this "religion" all over the world by using military force and killing any opposition from South America to Africa and Asia, should be careful not to associate military force with the Holy Names of God and His representatives. Our main weapons should be the Maha Mantra, free distribution of prasadam to all the afflicted areas, telling the recipients that it's food offered to God, whose Names are multiple, according to customs and countries. There should be special funds to support such preaching, that should not be done by soldiers in uniforms. Soldiers mean violence and abuse of most horrible kind due to weapons made of depleted uranium, which is contaminating the whole world with dangerous radioactive effects, provoking a special kind of cancer to soldiers and populations. If any preaching is organized in Iraq it should be done by fearless devotees who would distribute the Holy Names and prasadam with the great benediction of the Founder/Acarya, who said he would worship such devotees by putting the dust from their lotus feet on his head by preaching to the Muslims. In South Africa, the only white people who could walk safely in black areas were ISKCON devotees who were doing Food For Life, thus promoting ISKCON and Srila Prabhupada in a very positive way.
  10. Which "great sinister movement" caused Iskcon's degradation? Srila Prabhupada said, this movement, Lord Caitanya's movement cannot be defeated from outside but only from within.
  11. "Sannyasis, eating separately from other devotees is totally forbidden", should be introduced in ISKCON. Rules For The Temple BY SRILA BHAKTISIDDHANTA SARASVATI PRABHUPADA We who have come to the Sri Chaitanya Math are all surrendered to Sri Chaitanya Deva, therefore we do not have any other goal besides devotional service to the Supreme Lord. If we lack in our service, then our mentality will become like that of a materialistic person and ultimately devour us. In order to protect the math, however, we have to abide by some rules. 1. It should be the duty of a sannyasi that they should never use shoes, rather they should go everywhere on foot. 2. They should never accept service from anyone. Neither should they never ask someone to massage their body or feet with oil. 3. Eating nice food and eating separately from other devotees is totally forbidden. 4. One should never go to a physician and should never take medicine according to their own wish. Note: (When a sannyasi needs something then it should be the duty of residents of the math to nicely take care of him. It is the duty of a sannyasi to serve the ones who are not sannyasis. The living entity invites difficulties by criticizing others, scandalizing others and unnecessarily talking about others. One should always desire auspiciousness. A devotee can easily control his mind and destroy his desires by steadfastly serving the Holy Name. 5. The Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krsna is residing in every spirit soul, therefore one should not consider himself worshipable and that others should serve him. When a sannyasi is free from false ego then the residents of the math should enthusiastically serve him, otherwise he should go back home. 6. Excessive foppery, excessive drinking of milk, eating luxuriously like a big man, should be totally given up. We don't want gymnasts (body builders) in our math. This is the place for the devotees of the Lord. 7. Strengthening the senses by taking excessive medicine and trying to spread one's domination in order to attract other's wives should be given up totally. 8. Sri Krsna is the only Lord and Enjoyer of everybody and everything. One should remember that all the time. One should serve according to the degree of their devotion. There cannot be any auspiciousness unless we become free from the evil desire to use the devotees in our service. The fire of lust that burns for material sense gratification should be given up. But that doesn't mean one should speak uncivilized language and dress in an uncivilized way in order to mix with dignified society. A bramachari should not desire to become a sannyasi simply in order to have greater sense gratification. The desire to dominate is detrimental to devotional service. To consider a sense enjoyer to be a sannyasi, and wanting to become a sannyasi with that ideal should be totally rejected. When one begins to enjoy his senses and becomes deceptive, he cannot serve the Lord nor His devotees. One should be very careful that no mood of foppery enters into Sri Chaitanya Math which will to ruin the sannyasis and bramacharis. The examples we are having about should not be tolerated, the householders also, like a sannyasi, should overcome the urges of lust, anger and greed. Everyone should consider himself to be very low and serve the residents of the math and the other Vaishnavas with all humility. Those who are not residents of the math, but are staying in the math for some business, or wanting some favor from the math should always be willing to serve the residents of the math and the math itself. The residents of the math should never behave indecently with a guest of the math. The residents should reject the mentality that the math is their personal property and that the guests are merely objects of their mercy. A guest should be treated with the highest honor - actually everybody in this world should be respected. Otherwise we may land up in the same extreme distress the materialists are suffering. A resident of the math should remember all these things very carefully. One should always serve Sri Krsna, there shouldn't be any mistake in that and more indispensable is the service to a Vaishnava. If a sannyasi must go to the shop or the dispensary for some reason other than service to the math, then he should go on foot. Let the car be sitting empty, but still they will not get into it. What everybody else gets, they should receive only that. Never should they use any conveyance, but with the excuse of going to the doctor, they take the car. They buy medicine and eat luxurious food. If they again behave properly for one year, then their eligibility can be considered. The math is not the place for foppery or staying in a hospital. One should not display his foppery. They can better behave that way by staying at home. Instead of saffron cloth they may be clad in white with a tail and send them back home. The ones who desire foppery, luxurious food and medicine they can go back to their homes and take care of their families, then they won't have to identify themselves with the math. Everybody should be reminded that cars, horses, launches and indeed men, are all meant for the use of the math, not any individual's display of foppery. Luxurious eating should be totally stopped. The sannyasis who do not indulge in foppery, should be recognized as Gaudiya Math sannyasis. The rest should be sent back to their respective homes. If our man power decreases due to that, that is still better. The ones who have taken shelter of the math, but are simply motivated by their bellies and genitals, if they are driven away, then the expenses of the math will be reduced. The pleasure-loving, sense gratifying managers should not be allowed to waste money rather everyone should earn for the math. It is important to make a list of how much one earns. It is not necessary to eat, buy medicine and display foppery more than one earns. The ones who come to render devotional service are bramacharis, grhasthas, vanaprasthas and sannyasis. To the ones who do not render any devotional service, the math will not give them shelter, because they do not deserve it. One should never think: "I have rendered a lot of service to the math so I will use their car." This is the mentality of a materialist. One who is serving the math should do that without any expectation of return because everyone has come to serve the math. If anyone takes anything in return of his service to the math or serves himself, he will become a sense gratifier. When one is a guest, then he cannot demand, he should eat according to the wishes of the host. One who is busy seeking sense gratification should be asked to leave. Your ever well wisher, Sri Siddhanta Saraswati

  13. Let's assume that the Old Testament is somehow influenced by the Vedas as mentioned in this book, But though Adam's lips said Eve, but his soul always echoed Lilith." then Lilith is clearly the archetype of a vedic woman who meets a materialistic minded man, Adam. When she saw the first man in Creation, Adam, she could only do one thing, to run away for good. Adam, who was offered a second wife, Eve, behaving like a conditioned soul: " This pretty much unknown woman, Lilith, created by God before Eve, must have somehow roughed up the situation of the church, God created a rebellious woman who left Adam? 14. Since the path of Bhakti includes the understanding of always acting under superior authority, becoming a devotee of present Vaishnavism surely implies to perfectly master the obstacle of being mislead by "superior authority" without diverting from your vow of strictly following the path of Sri Gaudiya-Vaishnavism as inaugurated by Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Quite some might have found themselves in a state of being broken-hearted due human error of their leaders within a spiritual society. Now, Lord Caitanya says in His Sri Siksastaka, Srila Prabhupada, commeting on marma-hatam, brokenhearted: "And You make me brokenhearted by not being present before Me. Because lover wants to see his lovable object. But if the lovable object does not come he becomes brokenhearted. So Lord Caitanya says, “I am trying to see You, but You do not come. That’s all right. I am brokenhearted, but still, I shall continue to love You. I cannot detract Myself from this love.” This is pure love. This is pure love. So Krishna says, ye tu bhajanti mām bhaktyā. One who is, I mean to say, entrapped in such love affairs with God, don’t think that God is forgotten. God is also thinking in that way. Although you do not see, but you see. Those who are advanced in spiritual consciousness, Krishna consciousness, they always see Krishna, always see Krishna. Similarly, as the devotee sees always Krishna, similarly Krishna also always sees that devotee. This is reciprocation. Although He is neutral… He says, “I am neutral, but still, I cannot deviate Myself from My devotee. He is always thinking of Me.” This is His admission. In sum, Prabhupada is saying, "although you do not see, but you see". Any suggestions? Bhagavad-gita 9.27-29 by His Divine Grace A. C. 15. This is quite some money spent everyday, but somehow even the US Vaishnavas conjointly support this war so it will probably come out successful. War Costing $720 Million Each Day, Group Says By Kari Lydersen Washington Post Staff Writer Saturday, September 22, 2007; Page A11 CHICAGO, Sept. 21 -- The money spent on one day of the Iraq war could buy homes for almost 6,500 families or health care for 423,529 children, or could outfit 1.27 million homes with renewable electricity, according to the American Friends Service Committee, which displayed those statistics on large banners in cities nationwide Thursday and Friday. The war is costing $720 million a day or $500,000 a minute, according to the group's analysis of the work of Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph E. Stiglitz and Harvard public finance lecturer Linda J. Bilmes. Comments that include profanity or personal attacks or other inappropriate comments or material will be removed from the site. The estimates made by the group, which opposes the conflict, include not only the immediate costs of war but also ongoing factors such as long-term health care for veterans, interest on debt and replacement of military hardware. "The wounded are coming home, and many of them have severe brain and spinal injuries, which will require round-the-clock care for the rest of their lives," said Michael McConnell, Great Lakes regional director of the AFSC, a peace group affiliated with the Quaker church. The $720 million figure breaks down into $280 million a day from Iraq war supplementary funding bills passed by Congress, plus $440 million daily in incurred, but unpaid, long-term costs. But some supporters of the Bush administration's policy in Iraq say that even if the war is costly, that fact is essentially immaterial. "Either you think the war in Iraq supports America's national security, or not," said Frederick W. Kagan, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. "If you think national security won't be harmed by withdrawing from Iraq, of course you would want to see that money spent elsewhere. I myself think that belief, on a certain level, is absurd, so the question of focusing on how much money we are spending there is irrelevant." The war's unpaid long-term costs do not include "macro-economic consequences" described by Bilmes and Stiglitz, including higher oil prices, loss of trade because of anti-American sentiments and lost productivity of killed or injured U.S. soldiers. In 2006, Bilmes, who was an assistant secretary of commerce under President Bill Clinton, and Stiglitz, a former chief economist at the World Bank, placed the total cost of the Iraq war at more than $2.2 trillion, not counting interest. The American Friends group used cost breakdowns and interest projections from the Congressional Budget Office to calculate the daily cost of war emblazoned on the banners flown in Boston, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Chicago and other cities. The banners show what this could buy in terms of health care, Head Start programs, new elementary schools, free school lunches, renewable energy and hiring new teachers. Protest organizers say they hope to turn more people against the war by laying out its true financial impact. "I think people are becoming more aware of these guns or butter questions," said Gary Gillespie, director of the group's Baltimore Urban Peace Program, which displayed the banners in the Baltimore suburb of Bel Air on Friday. "But when you talk about $720 million a day, even people who work on this issue are shocked by the number and shocked by what could have been done with that money. War has no return -- you're not producing a product."
  16. For Vaishnavas it might be something like a tightrope walk, is it more important to awaken the conditioned souls to understand their eternal relationship with Lord Sri Krishna or to go back home to Krishna's eternal abode for one's own spiritual sake? "One's aim of life should be to go back home, back to Godhead, and not be subjected to repeated births and deaths in the material world by getting good or bad bodies for temporary existence. Herein lies the intelligence of human life, and one should desire the activities of life in that way." (Srimad Bhagavatam 2.10.4) Of course when a Vaishnava is a great preacher and siksa-guru he will be missed badly when leaving this world untimely. The mood of us, the left behind, yes, we should be surely happy when a great devotee returns to Krishna, but still I find we should be also seeing it as a loss when a devotee leaves untimely and not stop to mourn about the departure of great Vaishnavas. Lately it seems that this is somewhat missing and the emphasis like in text below reads onesided, "please remove any obstacles on his path back to Godhead." Or are we pushed to be victims of perplexity that so many great Vaishnavas are leaving? All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I am writing to ask for your prayers for the safe departure from this world of a very wonderful devotee, Nirguna das, disciple of Srila Prabhupada since 1975. He was a major book distributor for many, many years, based mostly in Atlanta. He has preached to and made many devotees. In April this year a large tumour was found rooted on his spine. The doctors declared it inoperable due to its proximity to his heart and spine. They suggested chemotherapy to shrink the tumour to make him more comfortable. He started this in Bhaktivedanta Hospital, Bombay but it made him so ill he could not continue. Thinking to fight the tumour with natural medicines he came to reside in Sri Dham Mayapur. He has taken herbal remedies, followed the Budwig diet, homeopathic treatments have been given but all to no avail. He has been in tremendous pain for the last few months (though he bore it staunchly, never complaining and not taking any medication for it) but was still able to get around by himself, at least within his home. Unfortunately, a few days ago, he began to find it almost impossible to walk. Two days ago his legs finally became paralysed. He still has some sensation in his legs but cannot move them at all. However, he did make it to the temple for Radhastami. He was carried downstairs and put in his reclining wheelchair. At the temple one devotee carried him up on to the platform in front of Sri Sri Radha Madhava where Their pujaris showered him with the maha flowers from Srimati Radharani’s abhisek. This was followed by a gigantic hug from Jayapataka Maharaja! Though still in lots of pain, he is in a very clear and happy frame of mind. He is preaching to his caregivers, hearing and chanting all the time. He is surrounded by big beautiful photos of Sri Sri Radha Madhava. Sri Panca Tattva and Srila Prabhupad. He has deities of Srila Prabhupada and Haridas Thakur by his bedside and in the middle of them, one beautiful Giriraj sila has come to give Mercy to him. Although devotees are constantly bringing him all kinds of maha prasadam, he has stopped eating and is gradually reducing his water intake. From tomorrow he will only take Srimati Radharani’s caranamrta 3 times a day for a few days then nothing. Our request is this. If there should be any last minute test ahead of him, please pray to Srila Prabhupada and Lord Nrsimhadeva to give him good intelligence and remove any obstacles on his path back to Godhead Yours in the service of the vaisnavas, the caregivers of Nirguna das. <!-- end .post-middle --><!-- the bottom of the post, the background graphic gets applied here --><!-- Blink It • Del.icio.us • Furl • Spurl • Technorati • BoingBoing • Slashdot • Digg --> <!-- end .post-bottom --><!-- <rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:trackback="http://madskills.com/public/xml/rss/module/trackback/"> <rdf:Description rdf:about="http://www.dandavats.com/?p=4360" dc:identifier="http://www.dandavats.com/?p=4360" dc:title="A prayer for Nirguna das, ACBSP" trackback:ping="http://www.dandavats.com/wp-trackback.php?p=4360" /> </rdf:RDF> -->
  17. This could be true if we examine from grammatical point of view by looking a the verbal roots. But since the essence of hladini sakti is love of God, prema, things start to once again merge into getting simultaneously one and different. Krishna becomes attached and controlled by hladini sakti - something what can be also said about devotional service. To say hladini sakti is not cognate with devotional service is rather quite daring. "Prema-bhakti is so powerful that it attracts and controls even the all-attractive Supreme Controller, Sri Krsna. We are controlled by attachments: we become attached to that which gives us pleasure. Only self-satisfied people can remain detached and independent. The Lord is self-satisfied (atmarama), but is attracted to His own internal pleasure potency (hladini-sakti). Thus He becomes attached to and controlled by hladini-sakti. The essence of hladini-sakti is love of Godhead (prema). Therefore, one who has prema can attract and control Krsna. No other process of self-realization has this potency, as confirmed by Lord Krsna’s statement to Uddhava (see NOD, p. 16)."
  18. Is chastity a symptom of a spiritual advanced society or "just" a quality in the mode of goodness? Examples of Extreme Chastity, Bhagavad-gita 1.40 - London, July 28, 1973 "[...]Her husband became so poverty-stricken. He was king, but he became later on so poverty-stricken that he had no sufficient cloth. The husband and wife was putting on the same cloth, half and half. So still, still there was no divorce. You see. Still the woman did not consider… She was also king’s daughter. But the husband has fallen down to so much poverty-stricken condition. “So why shall I live with him?” These are some of the extreme examples of chastity. Not to speak of olden days, I have seen in Bombay, in 1935 or ’34, on the roadside, there was a beggar. The beggar, the face was defaced. Might be some accident. His eyes and everything became defaced. He could not see, everything became useless. So he, he was sitting on the roadside, and his wife also, also sitting. But I saw that beggar was neat and clean. The wife was also neat and clean. The wife’s business was that to keep the husband always neat and clean and fresh and bring him there and again take him at home. Young woman. So I could understand that the wife is so chaste. She has not left such ugly husband. Because his face was defaced. And helping him. Because they require some money. So we have seen. There are many stories of chaste woman. Many stories. There was one disciple of Rāmānujācārya, a very poor. So Rāmānujācārya came in that poor disciple’s house and he saw there was no one in the house. So he thought: “What is this? This is my disciple’s house. He’s family man. Why there is none?” That means he could understand that the door is not locked. Door was closed only. Then he could understand that within the door his wife is there. Therefore he knocked the door, and there was response also, knocking, but she could not come out. That means she, she was so poor that she had no garment. She was keeping herself within the room, naked. So Rāmānujācārya could understand that “There is his wife. Maybe she has no sufficient clothing.” So immediately, his own cloth he gave her, within the room, and the woman came out, putting on that… And then offered obeisances. So he could understand the position. They were very, very poor. Even no clothing. So after putting on the cloth, she went to the grocer’s shop. Because Rāmānujācārya is there. She must receive. Grocer shop. The grocer knew that this woman is very woman, uh, very poor, so his business was to entice her. But she never agreed, although she was young. Now this woman went to the grocer’s shop that: “You know that I am very poor. I require immediately some grains, ghee, and other things. My Guru Mahārāja has come at home. I must receive. So tonight I agree with your proposal. Please give me. Even at the sacrifice of my chastity I want this.” So the grocer was very glad. “Oh, this woman, I have canvassed her, I have tried to induce her. She never agreed. And now she’s agreeing.” So: “All right, you take, whatever you like. Take.” So she was given all kinds of food grains, as much as she wanted. And she cooked and gave to the spiritual master and his associates, his servants. Everything was very nice. In the meantime, the husband came, working whole day. And he saw that everything was nicely done. “Guru Mahārāja is fed, and his associates, they’re fed.” So he asked his wife: “How did you get all these things?” Then she narrated the whole story. Then husband also said: “Yes, you have promised. All right. Take some prasādam and go to him. Because you have promised to meet him this evening. So go.” Then the grocer heard the whole story and his mind became changed. “Oh, such a chaste woman. Such a faithful… You are my mother. You take more ingredients, grains, as much as you like, you shall…”[...]
  19. This gets even more obvious when visiting temples like Bhaktivedanta Manor, they behave like, "we are the European headquarter". But what happened to the European Vaishnavas, how the European yatras were destroyed, looted, raped and exploited, millions stolen and thousands of devotees cheated by handful of "genuine gurus", this they suddenly never heard about. The only thing what they are greatly worried about that these "gurus" didnt seek shelter at their place but were welcomed with red carpet as guests of honour at Alachua, Florida. Yes, Krishna save world, coz world it is in the hands of these people now... hari bol
  20. This is what I like so much about American Vaishnavas, they're so straight and honest. Murali Mohan, but thats what I did, to simply present the work of a qualified scientist, J. Marvin Herndon, see beginning of topic, who presented the proof that there's a natural nuclear plant in the center of the Earth. I did nothing but said, look how wonderful is Krishna to create Lord Brahma who created all the planets. On the other hand I have no problem to be called by US Vaishnavas a fool - in fact I can live best with it. The Nuclear Heart of the Earth The science behind 'The Core' including an interview with J. Marvin Herndon, Ph.D. <table align="right" border="0" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0" width="200"><tbody><tr><td> out of the box and into space</td></tr></tbody></table> by Wayne Smith Brisbane - September 22 2007 What would we find if we were to dig a hole all the way down to the centre of the Earth? According to high school science books we would discover a liquid iron alloy core and a smaller solid inner core at the center. For ten years, geophysicist J. Marvin Herndon has presented increasingly persuasive evidence that at the very centre of the Earth, within the inner core, there exists a five mile in diameter sphere of uranium which acts as a natural nuclear reactor. Dr. Herndon likes to term this beast the "georeactor". Think of the early Earth as having been like a spherical steel hearth. A hot ball of liquid elements freshly formed out of the primordial disc surrounding our sun. The densest metals sinking down by force of gravity while lighter materials "floated" outwards. Uranium is very dense. At about 19 grams per cubic centimeter, it is 1.6 times more dense than lead at the Earth's surface. But deep within our planet density depends only on atomic number and atomic mass. Uranium, having the greatest atomic number and atomic mass, would be the most dense substance in our planet and will ultimately end up at the center of the Earth. The implications of this relatively new georeactor hypothesis are far reaching indeed. Not only does it threaten to change the way we view our own Earth and planetary formation in general but the very origin of the stars might need to be rewritten. Recently returned from the red carpet World Premiere Screening of "The Core", I caught up with Dr. Marvin Herndon for an interview. Wayne: Dr. Herndon, I have read that you believe Mars to have a dead georeactor as evidenced by its not possessing any electromagnetic field. Can you speculate on other planets in the solar system including the Gas Giants? Dr. Herndon: I first came upon the idea of planetary-scale nuclear fission reactors by considering the Gas Giants. When I went to school, I was taught that planets don't produce energy; they just receive energy from the sun and re-radiate it. But in the late 1960's astronomers found that Jupiter radiates about twice as much energy into space as it receives from the sun. Later, Saturn and Neptune were also found to radiate prodigious amounts of internally generated energy. For twenty years planetary scientists, believing that they had considered and eliminated all possible planetary-scale energy sources, pronounced that the extra energy being radiated was from the original gravitational collapse some 4.5 billion years ago. When I started thinking about the problem around 1990, that explanation did not make sense to me. Jupiter is 98% hydrogen and helium; both of these gases are extremely efficient heat transfer media. Then I realized that each of the Gas Giants had all of the necessary ingredients for a planetary-scale nuclear reactor, an energy source that had not been previously considered. Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune each radiate prodigious amounts of internally generated energy and have very turbulent atmospheres; Uranus radiates little if any extra energy and its atmosphere appears featureless. [speculation: Has Uranus' nuclear reactor shut down or died?] After the paper on the Gas Giants was published in Naturwissenschaften, I realized that hydrogen was not necessary for slowing neutrons; that bit of insight lead me to begin developing the concept of a nuclear fission reactor at the center of the Earth, which I first published in 1993. We have no direct evidence (yet) that Mars has or had a nuclear reactor. However, Mars has the largest volcano in the solar system, Mons Olympus. There was at one time a source of energy needed to form that volcano. Now it appears that the interior of Mars may not be frozen. Interesting. Jupiter's moon, Io, has volcanic activity. I have read recent reports suggesting that tidal interaction with Jupiter may not supply enough energy. One might SPECULATE on the possibility of a nuclear reactor being involved, but at present it would only be a speculation. There was a recent report suggesting that the interior of our own moon may not be entirely frozen. There is paleomagnetic evidence to support the idea that the moon had its own magnetic field during its first 500 million years of life. What is needed is hard evidence. Wayne: This aspect will I know interest the readers. Could a georeactor possibly "blow up" destroying its surrounding planet? Dr. Herndon: No. For an explosion one needs very pure "weapons grade" uranium or plutonium. The impurities in natural uranium, including U-238, would rule this out. (Too bad for reader interest.) There is some nonsense on the web about global warming causing the georeactor to explode. Nonsense. Pseudoscience. Wayne: Except for a georeactor winding down, are there any other dangers posed to life? Dr. Herndon: The only elements that can escape from the core are very light elements. Light element fission products are low in abundance and, if radioactive, typically have short half-lives. Unlike other potential planetary-scale energy sources which can change only very gradually in one direction over time, a nuclear reactor is capable of variable energy production, as I pointed out in my 1994 Proceedings of the Royal Society of London paper. Questions that scientists should begin thinking about are whether such variable energy output for the earth can be detected and how might it affect the surface regions of our planet. Is the El Nino, for example, affected by such variability??? Ice ages??? I am not suggesting that they are, but one should keep an open mind. For example, in models of global warming, the heat flux from the interior is ASSUMED to be constant. Is it? These are questions that scientists should address. Wayne: What would control this energy output variability if it does exist? Dr. Herndon: In a nuclear fission reactor, the nuclei of uranium and other actinide elements are caused to fission in a chain reaction, splitting typically into two pieces. These fission products absorb neutrons and, if left in place, will slow the neutron chain reaction and, ultimately, will shut down the reactor. But the fission products have roughly half the atomic number of the uranium fuel and half the atomic mass. At the pressures that prevail in the deep interiors of planets, density is a function of atomic number and atomic mass. The fission products will therefore be less dense than the uranium fuel and will tend by gravity to migrate radially outward while the uranium fuel re-concentrates inward. One might imagine in the ideal case something of an equilibrium being established. But if, for example, the rate of production of fission products exceeds their rate of removal, the output power of the reactor might be reduced until the fission products have a chance to migrate by gravity away from the reactor zone. Then the power will increase. Wayne: I was thinking about how this georeactor planetary theory if proven must apply to most if not all planetary bodies throughout the universe. I'm certain you are familiar with Drakes equation for trying to guesstimate the number of intelligent civilizations which might exist in the universe. Much revered by SETI. Wouldn't a new value have to be added representing the expected lifetime of a georeactor at any Earthlike world? Dr. Herndon: I think that people would very much like to find evidence of life elsewhere in the universe. But the fact remains that Earth is the only planet where life has been found. I do not think that one can assign a probability to an event that has only been observed once. I am not in any way against efforts to find evidence of life, but I think that people need to be objective in that pursuit. Wayne: Do you envision any strange examples of natural fission? Physicists have theorized about all manner of peculiar things such as miniature and even doughnut shaped black holes for instance. Could an unusual type of natural fission reactor exist somewhere in the universe? Dr. Herndon: I try to build science step by step, one insight leading to another. I have had no reason to expect unusual types of reactors to exist in the universe. On the other hand, I think there is much that we still do not know about "ordinary" planetary-scale nuclear reactors. And who knows what we may ultimately learn? Wayne: I hope you had fun in Hollywood rubbing shoulders with the stars. Dr. Herndon: I found to my surprise that, not only did I get to rub shoulders with the stars, I was treated as a star and paraded along the red carpet at the World Premiere of THE CORE. That's quite a boost for science. Wayne: Dr. Herndon thank you for taking time out from your hectic life to speak to us. Dr. Herndon: It has been my pleasure. I find that people want very much to learn about their world. I am glad to have the opportunity to make this knowledge available. Thank you. Natural Reactors. On June 2 1972 a French analyst named Bougzigues discovered spent uranium in an ore sample later found to have originated from the Oklo deposits of Gabon in South West Africa. A number of ancient natural reactors were consequently discovered in the middle of this ore deposit. Scientists investigating the site confirmed that fission had taken place there approximately 2 billion years ago. U-235, the fissionable isotope of uranium, was more abundant in natural deposits of that era than at present. So ancient ores were in fact quite similar to enriched uranium and could fission under the right circumstances. With water acting as a moderator on particularly porous ores a sustained reaction became possible. The existence of natural reactors such as these had been theoretically predicted by P. K. Kuroda in 1956; Oklo was the first actual evidence of them to have been found. Inside the Earth. What we do know about the deepest regions of the Earth is largely deduced from meteorites and rock samples. Lava and basalt contain small amounts of helium-3 not predicted by traditional planetary theory. There was no known natural production method to account for this isotope being present in such high quantities so scientists could only conclude that it originated from the Earths formation around 4.5 billion years ago. Rather incredible to believe but with no other obvious explanation available other than cosmic dust it has remained the generally accepted theory for over 30 years. To make it fit the evidence roughly 10 times as much helium-4 from radioactive decay had to have been mixed with the helium-3 and in a fashion enabling very narrow ranges of composition. Results of the first numerical simulation of a deep-Earth reactor were published in 2001 by Marvin Herndon and Daniel Hollenbach. Confirming everything Herndon had published in the eight years prior to it, the calculations showed for the very first time how a deep-Earth nuclear reactor would produce both helium-3 and helium-4 in similar ratios to what is actually found in volcanic lavas and basalts. This is extremely strong evidence for a deep earth reactor. Recently, nuclear engineers and scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory made further numerical simulations which refine and extend the original findings of Herndon and Hollenbach. A 4.5 billion year old planetary scale georeactor with a heat output of approximately four terawatts looks increasingly likely as more evidence keeps mounting. The variable energy output expected with such a natural reactor has some supportive evidence also. Earth's geomagnetic field has over the course of history weakened, increased, reversed and even temporarily shutdown. Activity which makes very little sense if you ascribe to the traditional assumed heat generation from an assumed cooling and growing nickel iron inner core. A five-mile-wide spherical reactor of mixed uranium 235, uranium 238 and self made plutonium is what nuclear engineers would call a fast-neutron breeder reactor. The nuclear fission produced heat warms the nickel silicide inner core and supplies energy to the mechanism that produces the geomagnetic field. Many people think that the heat from the inner core then heats the fluid core causing convection motions which act like a dynamo to produce the geomagnetic field, although the true mechanism is not yet known with any certainty. One argument raised by other geophysicists is to ask how all of that uranium could have reached the center. Many people think that uranium combines with oxygen and becomes part of the silicate mantle. Herndon's answer to this thorny question came to him from space. From stony meteorites to be exact. Chondrites are rubble left over from the creation of the solar system. "Most of today's geophysics is based on the idea that Earth is like ordinary chondrites, which were formed under relatively oxygen-rich conditions," says Herndon. Enstatite chondrites which were created in conditions of low oxygen show much closer similarity to Earth's composition and do contain uranium. "These are like the inner planets, the oxygen isotopes in enstatite chondrites are identical to what we find inside Earth. When there is plenty of oxygen, all of the elements that like to combine with oxygen would go with the silicates. But when there is limited oxygen, elements such as uranium and magnesium would in part go to the Earth's core," he explains. Dark Matter and Stars. If natural fission is commonly found at the hearts of planets then it might also be found in metal rich protostars. This might then be the actual trigger mechanism for fusion. Thus rewriting the theory of how stars ignite and challenging the traditionalists among astrophysicists 'and' geophysicists. The popular explanation has long been gravitational collapse heat as being the trigger for a fusion reaction. Such a reaction requires temperatures of about one million degrees celsius. Herndon's idea of fission providing the trigger is experimentally proven by the detonation of hydrogen bombs. No experimental proof on the other hand exists for gravity being capable of achieving the same result. In fact, calculations indicate that it may not be possible to attain a million degrees by gravitational collapse because energy is radiated away as a function of the fourth power of temperature. Using step by step logical reasoning we can therefore assume that stars not containing a critical mass of fissionables can't ignite. Astronomers seem to be slowly coming to the same conclusion, having observed that dark matter appears especially plentiful near stars with low amounts of metal. No significant level of fissionable metals means no fission and therefore no fusion. So the bulk of that missing 90% of the universe labelled 'Dark Matter' which astronomers have been scratching their heads over for decades, might simply be accounted for by non-ignited stars. The end of the georeactor's lifetime is approaching. Nuclear georeactor numerical simulation results reveal increasingly higher ratios of helium-3 to helium-4 fission products occurring as the world ages. A sign of uranium fuel depletion at the core. This trend combined with the high helium ratios observed today in fresh lavas from Hawaii and Iceland indicates the end of the georeactor's lifetime to be rapidly approaching(geologically speaking). Dr. Herndon is now working to narrow down a more specific date for this event currently estimated to happen anytime from the next century to a billion years in the future. Beryllium-9 and beryllium-10 samples from the core, if locatable, might contain vital information to help with predictions. When combined with other data it could provide us with an answer to 'when'. After the georeactor does die, the Earths magnetic field will follow, having no source of energy to power it. This collapse will have an adverse global effect on animal and plant life, from birds getting lost to solar radiation stripping off our atmosphere. It's questionable if life could in fact survive at all. We do know that the sterile looking surface of Mars presently has no geomagnetic field. This theory undoubtedly deserves serious scrutiny from the scientific community. Like so many other 'earthshaking' new ideas in science it has sadly been largely ignored to date. Plate tectonics suffered the same 'pariah' status for fully half a century with experts refusing even to consider it. Radical new ideas in science frequently face hostility because scientists themselves are only human. Geophysicists who have spent the better part of their lives writing papers on the dynamics of Earth's inner structure do not want to hear about how they might have been wasting their lives chasing the wrong theory. Building up a reputation as being an authority on a subject is extremely difficult. It requires enormous dedication and long years of study with little pay and perhaps mounting debts. Many of us imagine the scientific community to be extremely logical and fair-minded in assessing new ideas. We see these people in their spotless white frocks taking exceedingly precise measurements of the universe and its easy to think they must administer themselves in the same way. Following the demandingly stringent doctrines laid down by the scientific method to judge any new theory on its merits alone. This would be the action of a robot. In truth, science is just another belief system that can be corrupted by ambition, jealousy and fear. Dr. Herndon discovered this the hard way and has paid for much of the research done so far out of his own pocket. However, as evidence builds in favour of his "georeactor sub-core", the walls of opposition are now finally starting to crumble. People everywhere are beginning to realise that it makes sense. The Earth is not yet a dying planet, but a World that is alive with a nuclear reactor heart. 21. Bhaktivedanta Institute: Einstein argued that because of its permanence, gravitation must be a feature of space-time. He made the revolutionary suggestion that gravity is not like other forces. A mass does not create a force field around it that will cause another mass to accelerate. Instead, it distorts the structure of space-time around it. Let us describe the phenomenon of the earth moving in an elliptical path around the Sun in both Newtonion as well as the GTR frame-works. In the Newtonian framework, one would say that the earth is constantly attracted by the Sun. But in the GTR framework, we would say that the Sun has influenced the structure of space-time in its vicinity. It has distorted the space-time in its vicinity and the earth freely moves along a geodesic in this curved space-time. The light rays, too, must follow the geodesic path and thus bending of light is expected near a massive object like the Sun, which was verified experimentally in 1919.
  22. No you don't agree, please admit! The concepts of a spiritual sky in Vaikuntha and a spiritual sky who is NOT in Vaikuntha are so far totally different, how you can say this is agreement? What is a spiritual sky NOT in Vaikuntha? This can only mean one thing, the heavenly planets - not Vaikuntha=kuntha=material sphere. So, the living entities are created in the heavenly planets, that's what Siva prabhu believes. "The material planets, they are not Vaikuntha; they are kuntha. Here, in these planets, anyone living, he is always full of anxiety, kuntha. In the Vaikuntha planets there is no such thing as anxiety. That is the difference between the spiritual and material planets. Vaikuntha planets means without any anxiety. Here everyone is full of anxiety, whatever he may be. He may be Lord Brahma or he may be Mr. Ant, small, very insignificant. Everyone is full of kuntha. Sada samudvigna-dhiyam. Samudvigna, fully anxious, "What will happen next? What will happen next? How things will go on?" This anxiety. He may be very rich man or very poor man. The anxiety must be there. Why? Sada samudvigna-dhiyam asad-grahat: [sB 7.5.5] "Because they have accepted this material body." Srimad-Bhagavatam 3.26.28 Bombay, January 5, 1975
  23. The force is towards the outside when for example a carousel rotates. Since Krishna created the Earth to rotate not only around its own axis (day and night) but also around the Sun (four seasons), the Earth's mass is also forced to the outside, just like a child sitting on a carousel is not forced towards the center of the carousel but towards the outside. source: scielo.br This illustrates the complexity of just three rotating planets: For the centrifugal force the expression is (Prado, 2002): Now, it is necessary to develop an equivalent equation for the gravitational force of the Sun (). From Fig. 3, it is possible to find the following relations, where stands for the radial component and stands for the perpendicular component: Those equations can be used to find analytical equations for the radial and perpendicular components of the gravitational force of the Sun.
  24. May be it won't get so far since meanwhile ISKCON NA has accomplished to change and isnt actually listed anymore as Vaishnava preaching movement but rather as "Hindu Temple Shop.org" or "Hindu Temple Restaurant.org"- the Gaudiya sampradaya being returned to where it came from in West-Bengal. Or is there something else?
