Revealed knowledge may in the beginning be unbelievable because of our paradoxical desire to verify everything with our tiny brains, but the speculative means of attaining knowledge is always imperfect. The perfect knowledge propounded in the revealed scriptures is confirmed by the great acaryas, who have left ample commentations upon them; none of these acaryas has disbelieved in the sastras. One who disbelieves in the sastras is an atheist, and we should not consult an atheist, however great he may be. A staunch believer in the sastras, with all their diversities, is the right person from whom to gather real knowledge. Such knowledge may seem inconceivable in the beginning, but when put forward by the proper authority its meaning is revealed, and then one no longer has any doubts about it. http://caitanyacaritamrta.com/adi/5/14/en1

Lord Narayana on Indian soil in Humble Human Form
Pankaja_Dasa replied to a topic in The Hare Krishna Forum
http://srimadbhagavatam.com/1/3/5/en1 So all the incarnations of the Lord are mentioned in the revealed scriptures. There is no scope for an imposter to become an incarnation, for an incarnation must be mentioned in the sastras. An incarnation does not declare Himself to be an incarnation of the Lord, but great sages agree by the symptoms mentioned in the revealed scriptures. The features of the incarnation and the particular type of mission which He has to execute are mentioned in the revealed scriptures. this is why. -

Shiva-tattva: Lord Vishnu is nondifferent from the Personality of Godhead. Lord Siva is in the marginal position between the Personality of Godhead and the living entities, or jivas. Brahma is always a jiva-tattva. The highest pious living being, or the greatest devotee of the Lord, is empowered with the potency of the Lord for creation, and he is called Brahma. His power is like the power of the sun reflected in valuable stones and jewels. When there is no such living being to take charge of the post of Brahma, the Lord Himself becomes a Brahma and takes charge of the post. Lord Siva is not an ordinary living being. He is the plenary portion of the Lord, but because Lord Siva is in direct touch with material nature, he is not exactly in the same transcendental position as Lord Vishnu. The difference is like that between milk and curd. Curd is nothing but milk, and yet it cannot be used in place of milk. http://srimadbhagavatam.com/1/3/5/en1 All the revealed scriptures are prepared by the Lord through His incarnation in the body of Srila Vyasadeva just to remind the fallen souls, conditioned by material nature, of Sri Krishna, the Personality of Godhead. No demigod can award freedom from material bondage. ....Even Lord Siva and Lord Brahma are included in the list of demigods, but Lord Vishnu, or Vasudeva, is always transcendentally situated. http://srimadbhagavatam.com/1/2/28-29/en1 The summum bonum Krishna is one without a second. He Himself has expanded Himself in various parts, portions and particles as svayam-rupa, svayam-prakasa, tad-ekatma, prabhava, vaibhava, vilasa, avatara, avesa, and jivas, all provided with innumerable energies just suitable to the respective persons and personalities. Learned scholars in transcendental subjects have carefully analyzed the summum bonum Krishna to have sixty-four principal attributes. All the expansions or categories of the Lord possess only some percentages of these attributes. But Sri Krishna is the possessor of the attributes cent percent. And His personal expansions such as svayam-prakasa, tad-ekatma up to the categories of the avataras who are all vishnu-tattva, possess up to ninety-three percent of these transcendental attributes. Lord Siva, who is neither avatara nor avesa nor in between them, possesses almost eighty-four percent of the attributes. But the jivas, or the individual living beings in different statuses of life, possess up to the limit of seventy-eight percent of the attributes. In the conditioned state of material existence, the living being possesses these attributes in very minute quantity, varying in terms of the pious life of the living being. The most perfect of living beings is Brahma, the supreme administrator of one universe. He possesses seventy-eight percent of the attributes in full. All other demigods have the same attributes in less quantity, whereas human beings possess the attributes in very minute quantity. The standard of perfection for a human being is to develop the attributes up to seventy-eight percent in full. The living being can never possess attributes like Siva, Vishnu or Lord Krishna. A living being can become godly by developing the seventy-eight-percent transcendental attributes in fullness, but he can never become a God like Siva, Vishnu or Krishna. He can become a Brahma in due course. The godly living beings who are all residents of the planets in the spiritual sky are eternal associates of God in different spiritual planets called Hari-dhama and Mahesa-dhama. The abode of Lord Krishna above all spiritual planets is called Krishnaloka or Goloka Vrindavana, and the perfected living being, by developing seventy-eight percent of the above attributes in fullness, can enter the planet of Krishnaloka after leaving the present material body. http://srimadbhagavatam.com/1/3/28/en1

Shikshpatri, so your saying your own scripture is telling lies? Krishna is not Supreme? And why do you not follow Bhagavatam? Like the rest of the Sampradayas, every Bona-fide Sampradaya reads Bhagavatam, and Bhagavad-gita, why do you not? These are questions which you should be asking yourself. I believe Swami-Narayana to be a devotee, that is where your getting the devtion from [you know exactly waht I mean] Please don't mistake Guru for God, otherwise you will create the greatest blunder in your spiritual life. Hare Krishna.

"If You Love God...Why Disobey" Hyderabad, April 22, 1974 Prabhupada: Then how he can be pope? Pancadravida: "But how you can say he is not the best Christian? He is the head of all the Christians." Prabhupada: But that means you are foolish and pope is also foolish. If he does not follow the orders of Jesus Christ, then how he becomes a pope? Therefore you are foolish. You have elected some foolish, another foolish man as your pope. That should be the right answer, that "If he does not follow Christ, how he becomes pope?"

Madhya 1.197 Purport There are two kinds of meat-eaters—one who is born in a family of meat-eaters and one who has learned to associate with meat-eaters. From Srila Rupa and Sanatana Gosvamis (formerly Dabira Khasa and Sakara Mallika) <font color="red">we</font color> can learn how one attains the character of a meat-eater simply by associating with meat-eaters. At the present moment in India the presidential offices are occupied by many so-called brahmanas, but the state maintains slaughterhouses for killing cows and makes propaganda against Vedic civilization. The first principle of Vedic civilization is the avoidance of meat-eating and intoxication. Presently in India, intoxication and meat-eating are encouraged, and the so-called learned brahmanas presiding over this state of affairs have certainly become degraded according to the standard given herein by Srila Rupa Gosvami and Sanatana Gosvami. These so-called brahmanas give sanction to slaughterhouses for the sake of a fat salary, and they do not protest these abominable activities. By deprecating the principles of Vedic civilization and supporting cow-killing, they are immediately degraded to the platform of mlecchas and yavanas. A mleccha is a meat-eater, and a yavana is one who has deviated from Vedic culture. Unfortunately, such mlecchas and yavanas are in executive power. How, then, can there be peace and prosperity in the state? The king or the president must be the representative of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. When Maharaja Yudhishthira accepted the rule of Bharata-varsha (formerly this entire planet, including all the seas and land), he took sanction from authorities like Bhishmadeva and Lord Krishna. He thus ruled the entire world according to religious principles. At the present moment, however, heads of state do not care for religious principles. If irreligious people vote on an issue, even though it be against the principles of the sastras, the bills will be passed. The president and heads of state become sinful by agreeing to such abominable activities. Sanatana and Rupa Gosvamis pleaded guilty to such activities; they therefore classified themselves among the mlecchas, although they had been born in a brahmana family. “Birth after birth you have been My eternal servants. I am sure that Krishna will deliver you very soon.” Madhya 1.215

I recieved this from a devotee: </p>Sri Bhaktivinoda Thakura: According to the pancaratrika-guru-parampara, the diksha-guru of Sri Bhaktivinoda Thakura is Sri Vipina Bihari Gosvami, who is situated in the pancaratrika-parampara of Sri Sri Jahnava Thakurani. </p> From our other viewpoint, no one can deny that Sri Bhaktivinoda Thakura’s life is imprinted with the stamp of Srila Jagannatha Dasa Babaji Maharaja’s anugatya (guidance). Vaishnava Sarvabhauma Srila Jagannatha Maharaja is a disciple of the famous Madhu-sudana Dasa Babaji Maharaja in the parampara of Sri Baladeva Vidyabhushana. It is not necessary to say that Vaishnava Sarvabhauma Srila Jagannatha Dasa Babaji Maharaja is superior to Sri Vipina Bihari Gosvami in tattva-jnana, bhajana-siksha, etc. </p>

Pure Devotional Service in Krsna Consciousness : How can I get It ???
Pankaja_Dasa replied to krsna's topic in Vedic Verses
Srila Narottama dasa Thakura (Prarthana 1): ara kabe nitai-candera karuna karibe samsara-vasana mora kabe tuccha ha'be "When will Lord Nityananda have mercy upon me so that I can realize the uselessness of material pleasure?" vishaya chadiya kabe suddha ha'be mana kabe hama heraba sri-vrindavana "When will my mind be cleansed of all material dirt so that I will be able to feel the presence of spiritual Vrindavana?" rupa-raghunatha-pade haibe akuti kabe hama bujhaba se yugala-piriti "When will I be attracted to the instructions of the Gosvamis so that I will be able to understand what is Radha and Krishna and what is Vrindavana?" These verses indicate that one first has to be purified of all material desires and all attraction for fruitive activity and speculative knowledge if one wishes to understand Vrindavana. -Prabhupada http://caitanyacaritamrta.com/madhya/8/138/en1 -
What are the qualifications for wearing a Brahmin thread?
Pankaja_Dasa replied to a topic in Spiritual Discussions
I understand that you must always respect your Gurudeva, that I see. Though Bhaktisiddhanta said that His Gurudeva was not so qualified, even went as far as to say He was Kanisthi-adhikari [caste goswamis etc]. So on one side Bhaktivinoda respected His Gurudeva, but on other side Bhaktisiddhanta saw that He wasn't as qualified, hence Jaganattha dasa babaji was His MAIN Guru. Though I did read about that Bhaktivinoda special orders for Bhaktisiddhanta was to establish Daivi Varnasrara System, but I'm not sure what that is. -
Difference between humans and animals

Animals never inquire 'who am I?'. I learn that from Srila Prabhupada. -

Can I ask one question for you, Bhaktivinoda is eternally liberated, so was Bipini Vihari rejecting him of any substance or value. It doesn't make any sence to me.
-
Prabhupada [bhaktisiddhanta] did reject, though Bhaktivinoda was still initiated by Bipini Vihari. Also though if you read from those links, that Bhaktivinoda took this Diksya out of Formality, because [caste goswamis u know the story], so He did that. And most amazingly is that Gauranga Mahaprabhu told Bhaktivinoda in a dream to take this Diksya. So indeed this is some plan Mahaprabhu contructed and here we are talking about it. Gaura hari!

What are the qualifications for wearing a Brahmin thread?
Pankaja_Dasa replied to a topic in Spiritual Discussions
I haven't seen any evidence that Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura received a sacred thread, or that he ever wore one. I have never seen a picture of Bhaktivinoda Thakura with a sacred thread (which has raised a question in my mind about a picture I've seen of Lalita Prasad Thakura wearing a sacred thread). Have you? Anyone? -- In the Guru Paramapara thread [last posts] I did some links. It says in this [sorry i dunno want to paste its far to complicated affair], that Bhaktivinda accepted initation as formalality, because in those days because of the caste goswamis [i'm sure u know all this lol], so they would respect. Also in that same thread it says that dikya you need, but siksa is main substance.
