1. Englighted me. The nectar just keeps on flowing...
2. If I have shelter of Guru, I would be more than happy to serve and listen, the q's I ask here are for the special devotees on this forum /images/graemlins/wink.gif Actually what I meant by the question was, here in this world being whiteish is considered to be beautiful, so in spiritual world might be diff, KRSNA being Original /images/graemlins/smile.gif
3. Everything in the Spiritual world is opposite, so is KRSNA being blackish in colour one of these opposites?
4. Krsna Consious Scientists: Have come-up with a new concept Sleep Chanting. For the New Age Lazy Trancendentalist.-
5. Its desires which cause unrest, your so right, when we desire love of god, then peace will follow, haribol
6. Theres more to the story, I am being pesimistic. The person must have had contact with a pure devotee in his life at some point, these stories are great, but we must no neglect, I mean what are the chances the same thing would happen to me?
7. Peace so we can get on w/ sense gratification?
8. Trying to get ya! Prabhuji., it is so apparant, that you dislike Hindus, frankly you should get rid of this, as it looks like its in seed form-turning into a tree, Vaishnavas do not have hate for anybody.
9. Hare Krsna Just my opinion, but the western world looks down upon religion, etc, but mostly they the western world, is just a haven of sense gratification, nothing more, so for them to look down upon even Muslims etc, I am not trying to generalize, by mentioning Muslims, but they are in the news right now. So Religion V sense Gratification, its never easy being religious in this world, so much scope to be allured into Gratification stool style. Anways, these are my thoughts, what do others thing.
10. I am still looking, could you narrow down the search? Did find this.. Srimad-Bhagavatam 2.9.11 Tokyo, April 27, 1972 (excerpt) Prabhupada: So...(someone calling in Japanese) It is Japanese language? Why? He wants to see. Hm. So eternal life, yad gatva na nivartante [bg. 15.6]. Eternal life, such nice, always youthful, such nicely dressed, and four hands. Now you are eating with two hands. You will get four hands. (laughter) So you can voraciously eat also if you like, with four hands. How much you can eat, two hands? So these are the facilities. Why don't you try for this? And Krsna assures, mad-yajino 'pi yanti mam. -- /images/graemlins/laugh.gif
11. Not sure why, but would like to know/
12. Hare Krsna SB:4.8.57 PURPORT (excerpt) Devotional service comprises nine prescribed practices-hearing, chanting, remembering, worshiping, serving, offering everything to the Deity, etc. Here Dhruva Maharaja is advised not only to meditate on the form of the Lord, but to think of His transcendental pastimes in His different incarnations. -- You can try thinking about the Lord, its difficult to do that without chanting loud, at work/ etc, what I did was: look in mirror and chant as softly as I can, and see if ppls could percieve me chanting, so the chanting is so silent, nobody can see or hear except you, and the mind even though the hearing is not loud will still pick it up. Thats just temp, I listen to headphones as well, amazing how you can come-up w/ stuff when trying to help ppls heh.
13. Can you read it on-line? The Lilamrita.
14. You could keep a diary, I normally just see if I can remember, but writing things down would help, see where your going wrong, back-track, could help who knows. My opinion: (nearly spelt onion there lol) To be truthfull, giving up is like to use a very crude analogy, being an Alcoholic, you HAVE to WANT to give-up. So you HAVE to WANT to start again, don't be looking around for somebody to say some Magic Mystical words to you, Your in the stage where you can find a Billion excuses to Not chant/offer food/flowers, but can't find any reasons {Maya} to start serving Krsna. If you deside to wait it out, months/years could roll by, then you'll of-cource, become more materially engrossed and then find it very difficult to start again. The above are from my own experience, the only reason I have Not stopped KC, is by Krsna Grace meaning His Devotees|
15. Sadhu-Sanga and Sat-Sanga [ by Sri Gour Govinda Swami Maharaja ] A lecture given in Bhubaneswar, India on September 28, 1995. If you are very greedy, very eager to have sadhu-sanga, sat-sanga, the association of grantha-bhagavata and bhakta-bhagavata, first of all you have to give up duhsanga or asat-sanga. What is association? One may say that to come in close proximity to a person is association. But that is not the fact. Association takes place in the mind, in the heart. As long as there are desires for material enjoyment, desires for liberation, desires for mystic perfections, and other desires in your heart, then you are doing asat-sanga. Even though you may come and sit here, and even though you may be staying in the temple, if all these thoughts and desires are in your mind, you are doing asat-sanga, duhsanga. You are not doing real sadhu-sanga. If your heart is not crying how to have the real association of grantha-bhagavata and bhakta-bhagavata, then you cannot get their association. Even if you don't go anywhere, if you just sit in one place, still you will have duhsanga. The example is Saubhari Muni. He entered into the water of the Yamuna and stayed there for thousands of years, but still he had duhsanga. In our minds there are hundreds and thousands of desires giving duhsanga to us. Is your stupid mind thinking about Krishna? Is your stupid mind thinking about the instructions of sadhu-guru-vaisnava? Is your stupid mind thinking about the instructions of Mahaprabhu and His dear devotees? If the stupid mind is not thinking these things, then you are doing duhsanga, asat-sanga. You are not doing sadhu-sanga at all. Externally or apparently you are staying in the temple but you are really doing asat-sanga. We should think about it: Are these thoughts pleasing to Krishna? Are these thoughts pleasing to guru and Gauranga? Krishna gave His most confidential instruction, man-mana bhava - "Only think of Me" [bg. 18.65]. Sriman Mahaprabhu gave the same instruction: ki sayane ki bhojane, kiba jagarane aharnisa cinta krsna, balaha vadane Whether asleep, awake, or eating your meals, think only of Lord Krishna day and night. With your mouths speak only of Him. [Cb. madhya 28.28] Day and night, twenty-four hours, cinta-krsna, balaha vadane - think of Krishna and utter His name - in all conditions, whether sleeping, waking, or even when taking food. This is Mahaprabhu's instruction. So we should analyze what we are thinking about. Srila Kaviraj Goswami describes what is duhsanga: 'duhsanga' kahiye--'kaitava', 'atma-vancana' krsna, krsna-bhakti vinu anya kamana Cheating oneself and cheating others is called kaitava. Associating with those who cheat in this way is called duhsanga, bad association. Those who desire things other than Krishna's service are also called duhsanga, bad association. [Cc. madhya 24.99] Duhsanga means desiring things other than Krishna and krsna-bhakti. That is atma-vancana, cheating yourself, not cheating anyone else. If we don't think of the happiness and pleasure of Krishna, if we don't think of krsna-bhakti, if we think of something else and try to fulfill that desire, then even though we may be staying in the temple it is duhsanga. With this frame of mind or heart one cannot have the association of bhakta-bhagavata or grantha-bhagavata and one cannot render service unto guru, bhakta-bhagavata, or grantha-bhagavata. Guru-pada-padma is very heavy, not light. Guru means heavy. He is gambhira-vastu - very grave. We cannot approach him. We cannot go to him. If we are fortunate and we can go, then it is to be understood that there will be no more material attachment, no more material world. Thereby we will enter into Vaikuntha. There will be no more dense darkness in our hearts, no more of these other thoughts in our minds, no more contamination. There will be no more duplicity, crookedness, and desire for name, fame, and prestige. We should think deeply about it. We should make a self-inquiry: "Have we reached guru-pada-padma? Have we entered into his heart? Is he really merciful towards us? Is he really giving his darsana to us?" If he gives his darsana then there will be no more duhsanga! We are only pretending that we have done atma-nivedana, that we have surrendered. But we have not really surrendered. We have only been pretending, pretending, pretending for so many years, and also for so many years to come in the future. As long as we continue to act artificially we cannot approach guru, sadhu or vaisnava. We cannot get their mercy at all and therefore we cannot see their real form. We will be cheated. We will get all external things.
16. 'Anyways, what should i tell this girl. No matter i say she keeps coming back with more nonsense. Its quite annoying. -- Sounds like you should change the subject. If she won't listen to you, not much point in going on about it, waste of time, just my opinion. Sounds as though your preaching to her ahem, Hindus don't like that {my opinion again} talk as a friend, maybe will work ok, I am using my Mother as an example, she not like it one bit.
17. Hare Krsna Here KRSNA and Lord Vishnu are one and the same. KRSNA is the Original candle from which all Vishnu Expansions take place, still they are one. -- The Path of Perfection CHP 7 If one candle is lit, one can light any number of candles, and there is no doubt that each candle is as powerful as the original candle. Nonetheless, one has to recognize the original candle as the original. Similarly, from Krsna millions of Visnu forms expand, and each Visnu form is as good as Krsna, but Krsna remains the original. Thus one who concentrates his mind on Lord Sri Krsna, the original Supreme Personality of Godhead, immediately attains the perfection of yoga.
18. There is a mantra which was given to Lord Ramachandra by Vishavamitra, orginally used by Lord Brahma, which when invoked nulifies Hunger/Thirt/Fatigue. If I ever locate it, you'll be the first to know-
19. which is why I mentioned Teachings of Lord Chaitanya -- Hare Krsna, The above book when I first came to KC, I read twice over, not sure why I did, but I did. 21. I must admit I did not think, about the fact that the parampara starts at the 'start of creation' of this Creation /images/graemlins/grin.gif, I always thought that the Parampara was started Five Thousand years ago, because the knowlegde was lost, so it was started again.. Don't confuce me further please! This Parampara system baffles me, now and again, but it awoke again, due to me watching a movie about Madhavacharya, from the Link a Guest gave to Mahabharata movies. Also.. I was looking for a figure, from the time Srila Vyasadeva gave Initiation to Sri Madhavacharya, how long before Vyasadeva had to wait for this? Looks to me like at least Three Thousand years or so..?? That link you gave me was great, about Tapsaya thankyou.
