  1. Sri Sri Siksastakam Verse 8: "I know no one but Krsna as my Lord, and He shall remain so even if He handles me roughly by His embrace or makes me brokenhearted by not being present before me. He is completely free to do anything and everything, for He is always my worshipful Lord, unconditionally." === No idea what the above means, but it could help, what do you think?
  2. Ok then don't use the word Hindu anymore nuff said. Nice orginal post, bit icky for me, but there you go /images/graemlins/wink.gif
  3. Srimad Bhagavatam 1.5.11 PURPORT (exceprt) We are confident that if the transcendental message of Srimad-Bhagavatam is received only by the leading men of the world, certainly there will be a change of heart, and naturally the people in general will follow them.
  4. <font color="green"> Bhagavad-Gita As It Is Chapter 13 </font color> <font color="blue"> TEXT 26 </font color> TRANSLATION Again there are those who, although not conversant in spiritual knowledge, begin to worship the Supreme Person upon hearing about Him from others. Because of their tendency to hear from authorities, they also transcend the path of birth and death. PURPORT This verse is particularly applicable to modern society because in modern society there is practically no education in spiritual matters. Some of the people may appear to be atheistic or agnostic or philosophical, but actually there is no knowledge of philosophy. As for the common man, if he is a good soul, then there is a chance for advancement by hearing. This hearing process is very important. Lord Caitanya, who preached Krsna consciousness in the modern world, gave great stress to hearing because if the common man simply hears from authoritative sources, he can progress, especially, according to Lord Caitanya, if he hears the transcendental vibration Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It is stated, therefore, that all men should take advantage of hearing from realized souls and gradually become able to understand everything. The worship of the Supreme Lord will then undoubtedly take place. Lord Caitanya has said that in this age no one needs to change his position, but one should give up the endeavor to understand the Absolute Truth by speculative reasoning. One should learn to become the servant of those who are in knowledge of the Supreme Lord. If one is fortunate enough to take shelter of a pure devotee, hear from him about self-realization and follow in his footsteps, he will be gradually elevated to the position of a pure devotee. In this verse particularly the process of hearing is strongly recommended, and this is very appropriate. Although the common man is often not as capable as so-called philosophers, faithful hearing from an authoritative person will help one transcend this material existence and go back to Godhead, back to home. ===
  5. 'I wish you would reply more to my threads but all is forgiving. I love you all....including you hindu's hahahhaha.' Its not funny anymore, really its not. Ofcourse I love you because you are not hindu's but spirit souls. Thats it! saving grace! Can't you leave out the Hindu comments alone once in while, you basically offend somebody everytime you say it, like I said its not funny, jeez brother, take the advice. I am in no position to give out advice, but ahem. I gave it anyway.
  6. Hare Krsna There is also another one where if you cut your nails after 7pm, it falls into the food of God. Its pretty much a Hindu superstition. Don't know if its true, the walking over somebody maybe has something to do with thier chakras I think, not sure about it, cutting nails maybe has something to do with Cleanliness? No idea.
  7. I tried to tone my letter to minimum:) Srila Prabhupada, books are his life-force, and everybody elses, lets keep them Original. As It Is. Before I critisise I look at what they have done in their Krsna Consious life, and picture them bowing down before SRI SRI RADHA-KRSNA, then everything in me just stops dead, I cannot find fault, so easy to fault, Lets form a society called the International Society for Fault Finding ISFFF, we shall have many members, we shall proclaim it the 15th Sahajiya Sampradaya. Anyway I was not really trying to find fault, I just want to know that what I'm reading is PRABHUPADA'S words, look whatever way you see it, Prabhupada was Impowered by KRSNA, beyond any comparrison, by anybody, lets leave his books alone so we can enjoy them while we have life. Bass from me, I am tired now. Hare Krsna.
  8. Caitanya Caritamrita: Madhya-Lila Chapter 11 TEXT 98 <font color="red"> "In this Age of Kali, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has descended to preach the religion of Krsna consciousness. Therefore the chanting of the holy names of Lord Krsna is the religious principle for this age."</font color>
  9. Any abductions? I think they are American UFO's but how did they get past the Radar, in these different countries? What if a plane flew into Iran? It would be blown to pieces. I think this is propaganda. So Nasa can fund there Raskal space programme, so the general mass wonder about little green men, how dumb?
  10. IF THE MEANING IS NOT CHANGED BY THE CHANGE OF WORDS, THERE IS NO HARM, THERE IS NO OFFENSE TO SRILA PRABHUPADA. -- So why change in the first place? Won't you just be confusing people? You said yourself for years you have been wondering about this, the method presented by Srila Prabhupada is so simple and sublime, for us to understand, anyway, I guess we have a choice, Jayadwaita Swami has done a great job, nobody here said he hasn't, but putting your FULL trust in one person, in Kali-yuga are you kidding me? Srila Prabhupada cent percent yes, that's without question, peoples are going to ask questions, why so many changes, the Original Gita made devotees, how many has the new version of Gita made? I do not know, but peoples are getting to know the situation and purchasing the 1972 Version. Personally I read the New version of the Gita First, but the 1972 version, is great as well, BUT PEOPLE ASK QUESTIONS WHY SO MANY VERSIONS! How can ISKCON progress with so many doubts? May sound like a little niggle, but I wonder how many threads are started on this subject everyday, and how many peoples talk about this everyday, and how many peoples leave ISKCON everyday due to complete delusion as to what the hecks going on, anyway Haribol! Huh I am tired now. Ps. Before His Divine Grace left, did he not give everybody things to do? He said not to change his books. I have seen peoples make excuses quoting reffs from years ago, to make it ok?..I don't buy it at all. Leave them how they are, we are not after Grammer we are after Prabhupada heart felt devotion, thankyou.
  11. 'A' Leader we need one, too may cooks spoil the broth. If only one person can become a Pure devotee he can change, the entire world, IF the Pure devotee desires to preach, sometimes time and circumstance, even KRSNA came after certain time period as Caitanya Mahaprabhu, so we should all work hard day and night to become PURE. The little changes don't really matter that much, as long as its not changed to suit different purposes, I feel this is again my view that the Line Devrish posted, is a step on to dilute the philosophy of the PURE GITA AS IT IS. Lord NITYANANDA grace we can get over it, how else did Prabhupada do so well? I have never read/heard/. or anything His Divine Grace say its all his own endevour. Rely on mercy, become Dog of Lord Nitai, heh its actaully not that bad, you feel like it!
  12. From my point of view, after carefull consideration, it looks like 'fear' to leave the Original line in. 'Pure devotee' is a Devotee 'Devotee' is more Safe. Confuced? /images/graemlins/smirk.gif That's Kali-yuga.
  13. Caitanya Caritamrita: Madhya-Lila Chapter 6 TEXT 254 TRANSLATION "Let me take shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna, who has descended in the form of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu to teach us real knowledge, His devotional service and detachment from whatever does not foster Krsna consciousness. He has descended because He is an ocean of transcendental mercy. Let me surrender unto His lotus feet." PURPORT This verse and the following verse are included in the Caitanya-candrodaya-nataka (6.74-75), by Sri Kavi-karnapura. TEXT 255 TRANSLATION "Let my consciousness, which is like a honeybee, take shelter of the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who has just now appeared as Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu to teach the ancient system of devotional service to Himself. This system had almost been lost due to the influence of time." PURPORT As Lord Krsna states in the Bhagavad-gita (4.7): yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati bharata abhyutthanam adharmasya tadatmanam srjamy aham "Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion-at that time I descend Myself." This is also the case with Caitanya Mahaprabhu's appearance. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu appeared in this world as a disguised incarnation of Krsna, but His appearance is confirmed in Srimad-Bhagavatam, the Mahabharata and other Vedic scriptures. He appeared in order to teach the fallen souls in this material world, for in this Age of Kali almost everyone has become attached to fruitive and ritualistic activities and mental speculation. Consequently there was a great need to revive the system of devotional service. The Lord Himself personally came down disguised as a devotee so that the fallen populace might take advantage of the Lord's example. At the conclusion of the Bhagavad-gita, Lord Krsna advised complete surrender unto Him, promising all protection to His devotee. Unfortunately, people are so fallen that they cannot accept the instructions of Lord Krsna; therefore Krsna returned with the same mission, but He executed it in a different way. As Lord Sri Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, He ordered us to surrender unto Himself, but as Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, He taught us how to surrender to Krsna. Therefore He is praised by the Gosvamis: namo maha-vadanyaya Krsna-prema-pradaye te. Lord Sri Krsna is certainly the Personality of Godhead, but He is not as magnanimous as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Lord Krsna simply gave orders for one to become His devotee (man-mana bhava mad-bhaktah), but Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu actually taught the process of Krsna consciousness. If one wants to become a devotee of Krsna, he must first take shelter of the lotus feet of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, following in the footsteps of Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya and other exalted devotees. TEXT 256 TRANSLATION These two verses composed by Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya will always declare his name and fame as loudly as a pounding drum, for they have become pearl necklaces around the necks of all devotees. TEXT 257 TRANSLATION Indeed, Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya became an unalloyed devotee of Caitanya Mahaprabhu; he did not know anything but the service of the Lord.
  14. Looks like we should not delay, chant away, Let the Japa be with you! ==== Caitanya Caritamrita: Madhya-Lila Chapter 22 TEXT 199 TRANSLATION Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu further advised Subuddhi Raya: "Begin chanting the Hare Krsna mantra, and when your chanting is almost pure, all your sinful reactions will go away. After you chant perfectly, you will get shelter at the lotus feet of Krsna. PURPORT The ten kinds of offenses should be considered. In the beginning, when one is initiated into the chanting of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, there are naturally many offenses. Therefore the devotee should very carefully try to avoid these offenses and chant purely. This does not mean that the Hare Krsna maha-mantra is sometimes pure and sometimes impure. Rather, the chanter is impure due to material contamination. He has to purify himself so that the holy names will be perfectly effective. Chanting the holy name of the Lord inoffensively will help one get immediate shelter at Krsna's lotus feet. This means that by chanting purely, one will immediately be situated on the transcendental platform. We should note, however, that according to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's instructions, one should not wait to purify himself before chanting the Hare Krsna mantra. Whatever our condition may be, we should begin chanting immediately. By the power of the Hare Krsna mantra, we will gradually be relieved from all material contamination and will get shelter at the lotus feet of Krsna, the ultimate goal of life.

  16. Hare Krsna, I find curious is, that 1972 Edition of the Gita, there are articles where it says that it is accepted in schools/colleges/Uni/ all around the world, so who are these changes actually aimed at? Is it an ego trip? I mean no offence, but I am getting sick of ppls questioning, can't we just have 1 Gita,???? Next the Christians/Muslims will be mocking our 'diff' Editions of the Gita, AND in one society? What is the need of 2 or 3 Editions of the PRABHUPADA GITA? I remember asking this on the phone to a devotee, I never got a call back, I was somewhat confuced as to why, I ask a lot of questions, when I should just be listening. No thats not a line from the Godfather, thats me.
  17. Thats the only good thing Bhavishya Purana says of him. -- #1 Hatred {kill them all} #2 Hate{for blasmphemy} Seems from the comments its No#1 your all after. Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu as someone said, that Cow-killing has been put into Muslim scriptures, should be taken out He said, There is No.1 For Preaching Priority, Chanting Allah-Holy Name, and at the same time killing cows, what is the benefit, you are commiting offence. Muslims who want 72 Virgins, don't they know about Sacrifice, if they so desire this, why not pray for this, after all its a Material desire, some individuals desire it, why kill innocent ppls and call it a Holy war, its like Abortions--killing poor babies, for sense gratification, basically doing the same thing but on a bigger scale. If you hate one person, that anger could root out your devotional seed, its very dangerous, and enjoyable, anger is great fun also, Otherwise why get angry so quick?
  18. Hare Krsna, In 10,000 years I won't even be here! Not your nor all these Kings! Our children or the children will carry on the tradition, as Arjuna says in Gita, he was worried that the family tradition would be broken, KRSNA said don't worry about it, GITA AS IT IS, can change anybody, please don't change it. I wonder something though, as Kali-yuga gets worse in After 10,000 years, the tradition, disicplic succession would be lost? So what would happen then? Would Bill Gates manifest in as Sai 'Microsoft' Baba?
  19. You know my sense of humour.. You've seen Godfather right? Even they had a consere'eler(sp), thats a big bufoon establisment, but kidding aside, sometimes it works ok {hey} sometimes not so good, what ya' gonna do? Chai {indian for tea} Godfather is always in charge, but he has his minions, when the minions try to become Capa's, then they get 'taken care off' know what i'm saying? So work nicly for the boss, he will give you reward when he feels like, np. Just provide him with protection money, taken from the general public {i am talking about book distribution}, and he'll be happy, jaya!
  20. Hare Krishna, A pure devotee can see another pure devotee, perfectly. So if the GBC are nominating these Gurus, then they must be bona-fide, temp fall-downs happen, BUT...Can a pure devotee fall-down any other way except through gross Vaisnava-aparadha? This world is so puerile, its influence vile, even Vaishnava's succumb to its duality? Anybody know? Ps. The Thread is not intended to be a GBC thread this and that, just nice bright comments please, leave the negativity at the door.
  21. Adi.13.5 PUPORT (excerpt) The Caitanya-caritamrta (Madhya 22.31) states: krsna ----surya-sama; maya haya andhakara yahan krsna , tahan nahi mayara adhikara "Krsna is bright like the sun. As soon as the sun appears, there is no question of darkness or nescience." Similarly, the present verse also describes that by the illumination of all the moons, brightened by the reflection of the Krsna sun, or by the grace of all the devotees of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the entire world will be illuminated, despite the darkness of Kali-yuga. Only the devotees of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu can dissipate the darkness of Kali-yuga, the ignorance of the population of this age. No one else can do so. We therefore wish that all the devotees of the Krsna consciousness movement may reflect the supreme sun and thus dissipate the darkness of the entire world.
  22. Bhagavad-Gita As It Is, same verse, same conclution, double the nectar double the fun /images/graemlins/smile.gif === <font color="red">Bg: 4.23 Translation and Purport by BR Sridhara Maharaja </font color> All actions are perfectly dissipated when performed in the spirit of sacrifice by the detached, liberated, and enlightened soul. (The actions of the worker on the path of selfless action do not lead to the consequence of apurva as postulated by the karma-mimamsaka section.) Commentary: According to their ethical but atheistic ideology, the karma-mimamsaka philosophers (mundane rationalists) claim that pious actions produce an unseen, subtle potency known as apurva, which must fructivy at the appropiate time after death. Their conception that this fruit can later be shared by others is meant to show the eternality of karma, or action, but it neglects the presence of the Supreme Autocrat. So the statement of Sri Krsna, samagram praviliyate, "All actions are dissipated", should not be misinterpreted to mean that the actions of liberated souls will cause some remote worldly consequence, or apurva. Rather, the Lord clearly points out that the pure actions offered to Him by the pure, selfless karma-yogi do not cause any subsequent reaction to be either enjoyed or suffered by others in this mundane plane. <font color="red">Bg 4.23 Translation and Purport by Bhaktivendanta Prabhupada </font color> TRANSLATION The work of a man who is unattached to the modes of material nature and who is fully situated in transcendental knowledge merges entirely into transcendence. PURPORT Becoming fully Krsna conscious, one is freed from all dualities and thus is free from the contaminations of the material modes. He can become liberated because he knows his constitutional position in relationship with Krsna; and thus his mind cannot be drawn from Krsna consciousness. Consequently, whatever he does, he does for Krsna, who is the primeval Visnu. Therefore, all his works are technically sacrifices because sacrifice involves satisfying the Supreme Person, Krsna. The resultant reactions to all such work certainly merge into transcendence, and one does not suffer material effects. ===
  23. Hare Krsna, Everybodys knows about the pastime, in which the Hunter shoots the Arrow at KRSNA, but what happended straight after it, why did it happen,? I would love to hear explanations, HARIBOL! Ps. I have heard it was Bali {from Lord Ramachandra pastimes, Bali--Surgriva's brother}
  24. I have no idea about this text, I go by what Srila Prabhupada said, that Mohammed was a bona-fide messanger of Allah {God}. Also in that link it says, that Mohammed did this by order of God: "Still I am going to establish a terrible and demoniac religion by the order of the Lord. "
  25. <font color="green"> The Ten Offenses to the Holy Name </font color> The ten offenses to the holy name are listed as follows in the Padma Purana, as quoted in the Caitanya-caritamrta (Adi 8.24, purport): satam ninda namnah paramam aparadham vitanute yatah khyatim yatam katham u sahate tad-vigarham 1. To blaspheme the great saintly persons who are preaching the glories of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra is the worst offense at the lotus feet of the holy name. The Nama-prabhu, who is identical with Krsna, will never tolerate such blasphemous activities, even from one who passes as a great devotee. sivasya sri-visnor ya iha guna-namadi-sakalam dhiya bhinnam pasyet sa khalu hari-namahita-karah 2. In this material world the holy name of Visnu is all-auspicious. Visnu's name, form, qualities, and pastimes are all transcendental, absolute knowledge. Therefore, if one tries to separate the Absolute Personality of Godhead from His holy name or His transcendental form, qualities, and pastimes, thinking them material, that is offensive. Similarly, to think that the names of demigods such as Lord Siva are as good as the name of Lord Visnu is also blasphemous. guror avajna 3. It is offensive to consider the spiritual master material and therefore to envy his exalted position. sruti-sastra-nindanam 4. It is offensive to blaspheme the Vedic literature such as the four Vedas and the Puranas. artha-vadah 5. It is offensive to consider the glories of the holy name exaggerations. hari-namni kalpanam 6. It is offensive to consider the holy name of the Lord imaginary. namno balad yasya hi papa-buddhir na vidyate tasya yamair hi suddhih 7. The greatest offense at the lotus feet of the holy name is to think that since chanting the holy name can counteract all sinful reactions one may therefore go on sinning and at the same time chant the holy name to neutralize the reactions. One who thinks in this way cannot be purified by any program of sense restraint and severe austerities, nor by the various punishments of Yamaraja. dharma-vrata-tyaga-hutadi-sarva- subha-kriya-samyam api pramadah 8. It is offensive to consider the chanting of the holy name equal to the performance of ordinary religious ceremonies or fire sacrifices, the observance of austere vows, or the practice of renunciation, all of which are materialistic auspicious activities. asraddadhane vimukhe 'py asrnvati yas copadesah siva-namaparadhah 9. It is an offense to preach the glories of the holy name to those unwilling to hear, to atheists, or to those who have no faith in chanting the holy name. srutvapi nama-mahatmyam yah priti-rahito 'dhamah aham-mamadi-paramo namni so 'py aparadha-krt 10. If a person has heard the glories of the transcendental holy name of the Lord but nevertheless continues in the materialistic concept of life, thinking, "I am this body and everything belonging to this body is mine," and if he thus shows no respect or love for the chanting of the holy name, that is an offense. api pramadah It is also an offense to be inattentive while chanting. Every devotee who claims to be a Vaisnava must carefully guard against these ten offenses in order to quickly achieve the desired success, Krsna-prema
