  1. Dear Sister in Christ, You are a source of inspiration not only by the followers of Christ but to those who wanted to do right things despite irregularities and hardships. Just want to share to you The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapter 5). This is a great source of strength for you (and for me too), especially verses 10-12: 1 And seeing the multitudes, he(Jesus) went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: 2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. 13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. 21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. 25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. 26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. 27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. 33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: 34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: 35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. 36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. 37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. 38 ? Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. 41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. 42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. May the spirit of the Lord be with you always. Jai Sri Lord Jesus! Hare Krishna! Myra
  2. Am I lost??? Different Thread??? I thought this is about the 6th Commandment - Thou shall not kill. ??? Opppsss....... I remember something the 3RD Commandment!!! Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Please let's stick with the original topic. God Bless everyone! Myra.
  3. Dear Prabhu, Hare Krishna! The Bible was written in just such a way that any honest reader, who has carefully examined its message, has found it to be one whole from Genesis to Revelation; united in theme, consistent in concept, logical in development, and agreed in doctrine. It appears that all creation was vegetarian until after the waters of the Great Flood receded and Noah and his family were left to replenish the earth. Genesis 9:1-3 says: "Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. The fear and dread of you will fall upon all of the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, now I give you everything." A possible clue that comes to mind why did God now deem it fit for His creation to eat each other is: Man's wickedness had just reached its fullness, and God had destroyed almost all of the inhabitants of the earth because of it. After the flood, God continues to show His mercy, love and compassion. He knows that man always fall short to His commandments. But that doesnt made God stopped loving man. It was as if Noah and his family were like Adam and Eve, beginning things all over again, but without the innocence of Adam and Eve. The first world has been created in perfection but man ruined it. So, the meat-eating becomes the distinguishing mark on this particular era of history would be having to live with the blight of sin. In the New Testament, God wanted His people to be more Soul conscious rather than body conscious. After all, "the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17). Furthermore, great in the eyes of God those who respect life. But we the vegetarians can't looked down those who are meat eaters. Romans 14:2, "One man's faith allows him to eat everything...For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:" 1 Tim 4:4. Hope this helps. God Bless, Myra
  4. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In Genesis it is said that "I have given you plenty of herbs and seads, you need not devour the flesh of the dead" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I can't find the correct verse from your quote. I happened to bump with the words "devour", "flesh" and "dead" sometime ago but I am sure it's not exactly as your quotation above. The Bible says that in the earliest days of creation, all of God's creation (even animals) were vegetarian. When God blessed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, He said to them: "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be food for you. And to the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food. And it was so" (Genesis 1:29-30). Even Noah and his sons were vegetarian. Imagine when they were meat eaters, they probably had consumed most of the animals in the ship for 40 days! LOL!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also in the bible it is said that God said when jesus comes he will only eat milk and honey. Later on, someone offered him fish and honey and he chose one. NOw we can assume since God told Jesus to only eat milk and honey he chose honey instead of fish. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Haridramaji, this is what was written: Luke 24:42-43, "And they gave him (Jesus) a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them." The authority of God for man to the mother earth has been taken for granted. And we would not deny that man has messed up the earth and most would argue that it is our responsibility to fix it. Let's start "save the earth"! Well Hindu, HK and other communities and few Christians has started the cause though it will be a long journey. Well, it also has been said that "A journey to a thousand miles, begin with a single step".... I am a Vegetarian. Personally, I don't agree with the killings for the pleasure of eating meat or because of mere sports (but if it is a necessity - need vesus want, why not?). On the other hand let's be warned that there will be a host of doctrines that point man away from the truth, instead of towards it. One of these such doctrines, is the worship of the "deity of nature". Sometimes, a person become a vegetarian becasue it is a part of her/his beliefs--the idea that all of nature is God. Well, this may sound nice, but it simply is not true, and is a doctrine that prevents people from really knowing God as He is. NATURE IS NOT GOD. It reflects His creativity, His beauty, and many other things. However, it is only His creation, just as we are. Jai Sri Jesus Hare krishna! Myra. P.S. Haridrama, please don't get me wrong Prabhu but please choose and research the correct verses from the Bible (Vedas also), somehow, correct posting of verses may help avoid misunderstandings and wrong conclusions from readers.
  5. You said it so well. Now, I understand more and more about Jesus in HK's perspective. God Bless and may the Holy Spirit of Yoshua be with you always. Myra.
  6. Hare Krishna Everyone, I am currently doing a project for my 3rd grade neighbor. Her assignment is about Dinosaurs. According to what I have researched: "The oldest dinosaur types are known from rocks in Argentina and Brazil and are about 230 million years old. The most primitive of these types, Eoraptor, was a small meat-eating dinosaur. Because Eoraptor's skeleton shows some advanced skeletal features, older dinosaurs may yet be found." According to Peeyush Agnihotri, "Central India was the largest dinosaur nesting site in the world" Ashok Sahni, an eminent palaeontologist from Panjab University, Chandigarh, who has been associated with dinosaur studies in India, has an interesting anecdote to narrate. "In October 1982, when I was attending a seminar in Ahmedabad, a young Geological Survey of India (GSI) officer came to inquire about a spherical 18 cm object from me. Such objects were apparently unearthed during the blasting operations of the then existing ACC cement factory at Balasinor and the "cannon balls", as they were commonly known, decorated the shelves of the mine manager’s office. We recognised the "cannon ball" to be dinosaurian egg and within a year’s time, GSI unearthed several hundreds of them from the area," he recalls. Sahni observes: "India has the largest number of eggs and nests from a single time interval (68 to 65 million years ago) representing the Lamenta Formation sediments which are believed to have been deposited at the time of Deccan volcanic activity. Other countries, such as China, Mongolia and the USA have several horizons from which dinosaur eggs have been isolated, but not from a single formation, as in India. What actually counts in the preservation of eggs is really not how many eggs were laid but how many of these were preserved as fossils. The process of fossilisation is selective and as we all know eggs tend to rot easily. For preservation of the Indian dinosaur eggs, it is believed that frequent flooding and covering of nests and eggs by sediments led to better preservation. There is evidence of flooding in the Lamenta sediments where nests have been found. On the surface on which the nests and eggs are exposed, we find pebbles of fairly large size, which could only have been brought there by flood waters." Prithiraj Chungkham, a gold medalist geologist and Senior Basin Researcher currently based in Singapore, avers that dinosaurs could have travelled thousands of miles to nest or lay eggs in India. Since studying and appreciating Hinduism, especially the Hare Krishna community I have learned that this community t allows science and God to co-exist. I have learnt that the Universe was created with the primal sound OM (or AUM?), which is similar to the big bang theory. QUESTION: Dinosaurs' bones and eggs that have been found everywhere in the world especially in India, but why never heard about the existence of Dinosaurs in the History Hinduism or in Vedas? Sorry Prabhujis, matajis just curious... God Bless, Myra
  7. "Be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove" First of all I am thanking the Lord Jesus and theist for this very good quote which is full of wisdom. Thanks for sharing theist.... Shiva, this time your effort has been paid up. I visited the site you gave me. I read some links but SORRY!!! find them UNSCRAPULOUSLY INTERESTING. However, I checked the background of the authors though. ACHARYA S. Who is she? Well, upon doing some random research I found that she is not a scholar. The Christ Conspiracy by Acharya S is published by "Adventures Unlimited," (1999) not exactly Harper and Row, or Yale University Press, but at least they know where to buy ink. Do you have this book Shiva? If you have and when you are done, you can buy the ones listed in the back on time travel and Atlantis. It is written by one who piles on the professed credentials like they would disappear if not referred to in a hurry: "...archaeologist, historian, mythologist, and linguist." Did they forget con artist, amateur logician, angry and irrational person? We didn't. Achy S is all of these things; The Christ Conspiracy is a tedious, boring compiliation of some of the silliest arguments, some of the broadest and vaguest generalizations, drawn from some of the most outdated and unreliable sources, that I have yet seen composed. Achy S didn't begin her Christ-myth career with this book: She's had a page on the Web for quite some time, and has been peddling her myth-theory on it. Let's summarize by noting that Achy holds the banner for the thesis that Christ as a human never existed, but goes down the fork of the road that even G. A. Wells abandoned some time ago: That Christ as a figure was derived from pagan mythologies. I would begin here by recommending to the reader Glenn Miller's work in progress on Copycat Myths. Beyond that, I will take some time to refute some ideas in detail (especially in a new series on pagan comparisons). Between numerous essays, much of what Achy has to say has already been asked and answered on this page, and beyond that lies a world of Biblical scholarship that leaves her and her outdated and irrelevant sources (like the works of G. A. Wells, Barbara Walker's Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets, and Lloyd M. Graham's Deceptions and Myths of the Bible) groaning in the dust. Readers of this book have told that Achy gets a lot of respect from certain quarters, and I can believe it: Just look at reviews of her book on Amazon.com!!!!! What this shows, of course, is that critical thinking ability has sunk to a new low... Poor Acharya S. ROBERT M. PRICE And who is this Robert M. Price???? I have done you a favor again. I researched on this guy and I think most of you will change your mind. He is also the Author of not only the "Christ a Fiction" but also the "Deconstructing Jesus". And I want to share a splendid review of his book by Earl Doherty. Institute for Higher Critical Studies JHC 7/1 (Spring 2000), 126-140. Please refer to URL http://www.depts.drew.edu/jhc/doherty_price.html "Post-Deconstruction Price offers a splendid summing up of what this vast deconstruction of the Christian Jesus has led to, and I'll quote the final two paragraphs of his last chapter, The Historicized Jesus? [p. 260-61]: Traditionally, Christ-Myth theorists have argued that one finds a purely mythic conception of Jesus in the epistles and that the life of Jesus the historical teacher and healer as we read it in the gospels is a later historicization. This may indeed be so, but it is important to recognize the obvious: The gospel story of Jesus is itself apparently mythic from first to last. In the gospels the degree of historicization is actually quite minimal, mainly consisting of the addition of the layer derived from contemporary messiahs and prophets, as outlined above. One does not need to repair to the epistles to find a mythic Jesus. The gospel story itself is already pure legend. What can we say of a supposed historical figure whose life story conforms virtually in every detail to the Mythic Hero Archetype, with nothing, no "secular" or mundane information, left over? As Dundes is careful to point out, it doesn't prove there was no historical Jesus, for it is not implausible that a genuine, historical individual might become so lionized, even so deified, that his life and career would be completely assimilated to the Mythic Hero Archetype. But if that happened, we could no longer be sure there had ever been a real person at the root of the whole thing. The stained glass would have become just too thick to peer through. Alexander the Great, Caesar Augustus, Cyrus, King Arthur, and others have nearly suffered this fate. What keeps historians from dismissing them as mere myths, like Paul Bunyan, is that there is some residue. We know at least a bit of mundane information about them, perhaps quite a bit, that does not form part of any legend cycle. Or they are so intricately woven into the history of the time that it is impossible to make sense of that history without them. But is this the case with Jesus? I fear it is not. The apparent links with Roman and Herodian figures is too loose, too doubtful for reasons I have already tried to explain. Thus it seems to me that Jesus must be categorized with other legendary founder figures including the Buddha, Krishna, and Lao-tzu. There may have been a real figure there, but there is simply no longer any way of being sure." DEAR READERS PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE LAST TWO SENTENCES AND I QUOTE: "Thus it seems to me that Jesus must be categorized with other legendary founder figures including the Buddha, Krishna, and Lao-tzu. There may have been a real figure there, but there is simply no longer any way of being sure." He is indeed an atheist. Krishna is a legend? And Buddha? and Lao-tzu? and he wanted to deconstruct Jesus? Well, if you believe with this ROBERT M. PRICE, it's like exchanging Srila Prabhupada with these rascals. Shiva, do you have a TRUE Paramatma in you? Please for God's sake, "BE WISE AS A SERPENT..." And you continue to attach these URLS from the Unbelievers? Chant Hare Krishna instead! With prayers, Myra P.s. Don't want to continue researching with the rest of the writers in the link, I am sure they all have the same feathers.
  8. Dear Kulapavana Prabhu, Correct me if I am wrong but I guess you misunderstood me. Did you open the URL attachments of Shiva? I bet you didn't becasue if you did you will understand me. Those attachments were written by unknown atheists that I also considered as lost souls. Why should I give time reading them? When instead somthing that will help me strenghten my faith with Krishna and Jesus it will make my mind wonder of disbelief? They are waste of Shiva's time and my time if I will read and contemplate on it, I would rather read, hear, understand and appreciate God's past times and of Jesus. Furthermore, I am not sure if Shiva has a good point, maybe he does but expressing it in a wrong way. Sorry to say, his feedback is very dogmatic and sectarian for me. Shiva, hope you understand that not all Christians are ignorant and uneducated and not all Krishna followers are self realized and pure devotees. We are all doing our best to be worthy of Krishna's abode and be a friend of Jesus. Forgive me if I may sound stubborn, just want to make a point here in behalf of those good, straight and pious Christians. Please don't judge us based on what other "false" christians have done, but through the eyes of Krishna in you. Hare Krishna! Myra
  9. If "most christians believe the Jesus is God,incarnate" let them be, it's none of your busines. Don't let your brain believe that God will think same as you because of the reason that they don't have the beliefs like yours. God will not de-merit or merit these christians based on your faith but based on the measure of faith He has been given to them. "secondly i dont think they are evil, just ignorant, emotional, and uneducated." --- And you think you are the opposite? Then, you are boastful, feeling superior, you are a false devotee... Faith means believing the unbelievable. If you claim yourself as self-realized but you don't have the faith, pity on you, you have a false realization. And you can't force anyone to believe what you are believing right now...If you feel you are self realized well, good for you. Yes, I have faith in the Bible and in the Gita for each teaches the right way to reach God. I think it's better if you will forward me those links and I will really give time to read them than wasting your effort attaching those nuissance links written by doomed/atheist souls. These irrelevant links you posted only bring inauspicious to my day and my work. Apologies. God Bless you! Myra
  10. The World Health Organisation has just issued an urgent warning about BARS (Beer & Alcohol Requirement Syndrome). A newly identified problem has spread rapidly throughout the world. The disease, identified as BARS (Beer & Alcohol Requirement Syndrome) affects people of many different ages. Believed to have started in Ireland in 1500 BC, the disease seems to affect people who congregate in Pubs and Taverns or who just congregate. It is not known how the disease is transmitted but approximately three billion people world-wide are affected, with thousands of new cases appearing every day. Early symptoms of the disease include an uncontrollable urge at 5:00pm to consume a beer or alcoholic beverage. This urge is most keenly felt on Fridays. More advanced symptoms of the disease include talking loudly, singing off-key, aggression, heightened sexual attraction/confidence (even towards fuglies), uncalled for laughter, uncontrollable dancing and unprovoked arguing. In the final stages of the disease, victims are often cross-eyed, and speak incoherently. Vomiting, loss of memory, loss of balance, loss of clothing and loss of virginity can also occur. Sometimes death ensues, usually accompanied by the victim shouting, "Hey Fred, bet you can't do this!" or "Wanna see how fast it goes??" If you develop any of these symptoms, it is important that you quarantine yourself in a pub with fellow victims until last call or all the symptoms have passed. Sadly, it is reported that the disease can reappear at very short notice or at the latest, on the following Friday. Side effects for survivors include bruising, broken limbs, lost property, killer headaches and divorce. On the up side, there is one, and probably only, a permanent cure, by chanting the Lord's name! Do you know how? (I am suppose to post this to the "jokes section", but this is reality, sorry, please bear with me). Myra.
  11. Hare Krishna Haridham! Can you please help me? I badly needed the contact number of the Customs (Clearing) Department of Durban South Africa. Thanks so much in advance! God Bless, Myra
  12. I will surely remember your advice theist. God bless you! Don't worry, I know that the Holy Spirit enveloped my heart as I constantly praying His continuous guidance for me and my love ones. And at this moment I will say a simple prayer for the Lord to speak from the silence of your heart, whoever you are... God Bless always! Myra
  13. Hare Krishna theist, Thanks! /images/graemlins/smile.gif Yeah I know. I just can't understand why Shiva is so "against" or so anti with Christ - ians. Is he a HK devotee? As what I have said, I am conscious that Krishna is no other the God the Father. God Bless! Myra
  14. Shiva, You are no difference to those you claimed "fanatic" christians. This fanatic x-tians are very literal, hate and thought that other denominations are of Evil, and so you are. Sorry I should have not be telling this. You were asking what is "accept"/"accepting Jesus"? It means believing Jesus as the Son of God who came here in earth to bring Goodwill and Good news to those who want to hear. If you don't want hear about Jesus as the avatar of God and and believe...so be it. God Bless you! Myra
  15. Because He loves His sincere devotee so much and don't want him to leave His side. The more we are in-need the more we feel the presence, help and love of the Lord. God wants His sincere devotees grow in the knowledge of Him and prosper in soul. For it is true that "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Matthew 6:21). Hare Krishna! Jai Sri Jesus! Myra. P.S. Lacking of Material things is also part of purification.
  16. Hare Krishna Everyone! PAMHO. Anybody who is currently living/staying near or in the Bhaktivedanta Swami Circle in Durban, South Africa? Kindly let me know please? Thank you, Myra
  17. ...Because I realized that my joyous heart can't find enough words to show how much it would be to feel the love of God within me. ...In this forum, as I watch and read, His lips I can see whispering unto me... and I can't help but to touch the keyboard and share my thoughts to Thee. Myra.
  18. Dear Prtha Devi Dasi, Perfectly stated: The most important love is love of God. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Moreover, I can fully understand the scenario you were talking about, the older male seeking for younger female. I'm living in a thirld world country and almost everyday, when I go to the church or office I've seen this reality. They are obviously very worldly couple. You can see it in their body (lots of tattoos), their PDA or public display of affection, and the way they dress. Mostly, women who get involved in this kind of situation are those very desperate and are willing to risk their future in expense of "False" security. They thought that these older men are good catch, and could help them in their future or augment their income; while, these older men wanted to be with these girls becasue they feel young and could boast their false ego. It's middle-age crisis. Note however, that I am speaking to a union that is bounded with love, respect and commitment to grow in spirit for God with each other not because of worldly reasons. This may sound so idealistic (based on my own experience), and besides, God expects His devotees and followers to be idealistic and righteous for His sake, right? Sometimes, we can't really understand the connection between two people, they may look odd, but spiritually they are very matched. As what I have posted in one of the threads here and I will quote it again. The union between man and woman is a portrayal of the divine romance between God and His devotees. The only reason man and woman are attracted to each other and desire to build a life together, is because this principal is true in a spiritual sense. The natural realm is an illustration of the spiritual realm, and all spiritual truths existed long before the natural ones were manifested. In the same that way men and women seek each other to become one, so our spirits are also seeking oneness with God----and He with us. /images/graemlins/smile.gif I know you are very realized person and I understand what you mean. I am not trying to negate your statement, just we are speaking in a different shadow. Hare Krishna! Myra.
  19. "the age difference does not determine worldliness or godliness of a marriage." ________ Yes that's right. I agree with you. One most important thing too is the consciousness of both parties. Regardless of age difference, they will always attain unity, spiritual growth and god conscious offsprings as long as they truly love each other and the center of their lives is Krishna. For the most important common denominator for every succesful marriage is the presence of God in their relationship. Couples must be God conscious in order to survive in this tricky worldly age. But of course it will be ideal to marry a man or a woman of the same age. How could you stop the feelings and hoping when among these people around, but this old guy or this old lady is the one you knew would "complete" you? God may have chosen this person to extend and let you know His love for you. It's up to you to reciprocate that Love. Personally, I believe that only FALSE WITNESSES will say that love fades as gray hair appears.
  20. May the Good LORD will bless you always Prabhu Ji! Keep up the good work!!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif Hare Krishna! Jai Sri Jesus! With prayers, Myra.
  21. Hello Guest /images/graemlins/smile.gif, How are you? Hope you are having a nice day! As I said, it's quite long and it might end this thread. Hare krishna! Myra.
  22. Haridham Prabhu, Always remember, behind the clouds the sun is still shining. Everything will be all right, Krishna is with you, I know that you know it, given in your auto-signature. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Haayyyyyyyy...this crazy world.....what to do? Oopppss by the way, I have a very nice readings, and it's very uplifting. I want to share it with you. It's quite long and I don't want to bored devotees if i'll post it here. So, how could i send it to you? Hare Krishna! Myra
  23. Dear Shiva, Thanks for the attached URL's but sorry I can't find it interesting to read those messages coming from an Author who is Unbeliever (won't care if he has the Ph.D). I would rather be more interested reading claims from Vedas or Geeta or HK Pure-Just devotees that will speak more about Sri Jesus or Sri Krishna. How much do you know about this author(Gordon Stein)? Can you tell what consciousness he has? I can say upon reading the outline of his Biography that he is also a lost soul. You and me, and the most of the people around are searching for the inner voice (Paramatma) within us. I know that I also have a very poor spirit, and why should I based my faith on the claims of this "blind searcher"? "...Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?(Luke 6:39). This is my conviction: The Bible is full of MISTAKES… .....when Eve doubted the Word of God (first mistake) .....when her husband did, too (second mistake) .....And mistake after mistake is still being made because people insist on doubting God's Word. The Bible is full of contradictions BECAUSE… .....it contradicts pride and prejudice .....it contradicts lust and lawlessness .....it contradicts sin, yours and mine The Bible is filled with failures BECAUSE… .....it is the record of people who failed many times There was Adam There was Cain There was Moses There was David and many, many others .....But it is also the record of God's never-failing love God DID NOT write the Bible… .....For people who want to play games with words .....For those who like to examine good without doing it .....For the man who does not believe because he does not want to Modern man has discarded the teachings of the Bible BECASUE… .....For the same reasons other men have discarded it throughout history… .....Woeful ignorance as to its true message and content .....Determined apathy in refusing to consider its claims .....Parroted pseudo-scholarship posing as honest criticism .....Secret conviction that this Book is right and men are wrong It is clear that only an IGNORAMUS or PREJUDICED person would believe that Bible… .....Teaches outmoded, irrational, unreasonable and archaic principles .....Is filled with hopeless discrepancies and unacceptable statements .....Could only be the undirected, irrelevant, uninspired and unaided work of mere men The Bible is, after all, ONLY JUST another religious book… .....For thousands who do not dare be honest with themselves and God .....For those who are afraid to accept God's challenge to an honest examination .....For those unwilling to look, in case it tells them what they are really like inside And YOU CANNOT understand or trust what the Bible says... Unless you are willing to consider the evidence and face up to the Author… The Bible does not attempt to defend its claim to Divine inspiration—it simply states it. The writers of Scripture continuously claim their message was not human opinion, but divine revelation. ...Genesis opens with the words, "And God said," nine times in the first chapter. ...The statement, "…saith the Lord," appears 23 times in the last Old Testament book, Malachi. ..."The Lord saith," appears 560 times in the first five books of the Bible alone. ...Isaiah claims at least 40 times that his message was from God, as do Ezekiel and Jeremiah, 60 and 100 times respectively. At least 3,800 times in Scripture, writers declared their message to be divine in origin. The Bible is a Book written for careful, intelligent people. It will bear the closest examination by anyone. Honest scholarship by saint and skeptic alike has always resulted in overwhelming evidence of its authenticity. The Bible does not require blind faith, but it does ask complete honesty on the part of the critic. Thorough the study of its claims, origin, historical records, and fulfilled prophecy, as well as careful consideration of every challenge and charge of its critics, enough convincing evidence will be amassed for even the most cautious of scholars. Why has the Bible survived century after century of determined persecution? No other ancient book has such a vast number of surviving copies; there are thousands of Old and New Testament manuscripts. Variations between these are minor and insignificant and great care must have been taken in copying them. It is said that Jewish scribes would use a new pen each time they came to the word "LORD" and at that point they carefully compared everything they had written so far, with the original. Men in every century have been killed for owning copies. Each era brings a renewed attempt to stamp it out, but history shows it has been impossible to destroy the Scriptures. Voltaire said, "In one hundred years, this book will be forgotten." Voltaire is forgotten. One hundred years exactly after his boast, his house was being used as the headquarters for the Geneva Bible Society. And who is Gordon Stein? Jesus said, "Heaven and earth may pass away, but My Word will never pass away." (Matt. 24:35) God's Word is "quick" or living. (Heb. 4:12) It has stood the test of scholarship, centuries, and the trials of all enemies. No man on earth could make unified sense out of such a mess of outdated ideas, wild speculations, and hopeless contradictions. But the Bible was written in just such a way. And any honest reader, who has carefully examined its message, has found it to be one amazing whole from Genesis to Revelation; united in theme, consistent in concept, logical in development, and agreed in doctrine. In real-life illustration, parable, and prophecy, recording historical people who lived and died, the Bible is the love-story of history—God seeking rebellious man. Lastly, the greatest proof of the Bible is the difference its message can make in your life. As always everytime I open the Bible or Geeta or Krishna book I ask God the Holy Spirit into my heart the truth of His power in its pages. As I pray "God, I don't know if this is your Word or not, but if it is and you can help me, please show yourself to me as I read." God will meet us in a living demonstration of His reality. Please don't make the mistake of doubting God's love and His promises. Jai Sri Jesus! Hare Krishna! Myra.

  25. Wow! This is a very nice brainstorming for us so far. Vijay Prabhu: This argument falls under the branch of logic called Epistemic and you define it quite fairly. This Epistemic argument could only be interpreted and understand with an “implicit knowledge”. Implicit knowledge is called potential knowledge (which I believe is from God); while what a person actually knows is called his/her “explicit knowledge”(based on his/her day to day experience). The concept of implicit knowledge is used without any notion of persons/agents computing knowledge or having to answer questions based on their (person being asked) knowledge. Subala Prabhu: If you will be asked with the same question again, I think the safest answer to the person is: Before I’ll answer your query, can you tell me if you have higher implicit/potential knowledge? (you can add these questions also: Do you believe that God is powerful or Do you believe that with God nothing is Impossible)? If the answer is YES : then you will add that, then it’s not necessary for me to answer this since you have the potential (with God’s help) to interpret your own query, I may have ended telling you my personal interpretations which may not suffice your understanding. If the answer is NO : then you can say that you will be sorry to say that you cannot continue to discuss it further because he/she don’t have the POTENTIAL do understand it anyway. It will be just resulting to an unending discussion. But of course, personally I can’t answer this directly like this to my parents or else I will be in a BIGGGGG trouble. Well…just sharing what I have learned from the four corners of my classroom 5 years ago. Hare Krishna! Myra.
