THe book “New Techniques of Prediction” by Shri Sheshadri Iyer. In that book he has proposed some fundamental rules for judging divisional charts. I have not used all these rules and not tested all of them. In fact, I am no expert in using Divisional Charts. I personally prefer mixing Krishnamurthy Paddhati with classical astrology for judgment. Nevertheless, I tried quite a few of them and found to be very useful in predictive astrology. Here are those rules -

    1. The most important and necessary condition for a planet to give beneficial effect of the D chart is its relative good position from the lagna of that D-chart irrespective of other factors such as being in inimical or debilitated sign or aspect or conjunction with other planets. Thus under this theory primary factor is its position from D-lagna. If the planet be in places other than 3,6,8, and 12 (Dusthanas) it gives good results, its magnitude depending on other factors. But if they are in Dustnanas they always give bad results whatever their other results be.

But there are some exceptions to this:

a)Kuja even in 6th in all D charts does good for he aspects lagna from 6th.

b)Budha even in 8th in D-4 only gives good. Note the general theory of Budha being in 8 as being exceptionally lucky. It is only here and not in other D charts.

c)Shani though in 8 does not kill, is the general say. This holds good only in D-8 chart when Shani is in D-8 lagna and not elsewhere. Thus the above 3 exceptions have to be remembered.

    2. Consider both the Rasi chart (D-1) and the divisional chart to weigh an effect. As stated above, position in D chart surpasses that in D-1 chart. Even though a planet is in bad bhava in D-1, he gives good effects of a D chart if he is there in good position from D lagna. Likewise however powerfully and favorably a planet is situated in D-1, if he is in Dustana in the D chart he gives bad effects of that D-chart.

    3. Having concluded the good or bad effects as per Rules 1 and 2 above the magnitude of the effect has to be judged from both D-1 and D-charts as follows:

a.If the planet has any kind of Shadbalas [Temporal (Kalaja), Motional (chesta), exaltation (uccha), Directional (Digbala), Declinatory (Ayanabala), or positional (Sthanabala)] in D-chart and favourably situated from its Lagna it gives good effects of a higher magnitude, the more the quantum the more the simultaneous varied strengths. If in addition to this the planet is also powerfully situated in D-1 also excellent results of a superior degree happen.

b.Even a mere ordinary good position in D-chart coupled with strong position in D-1 (though in Dustana in D-1) gives effects of a higher order.

c.But, however strongly and favourably situated in D-1 if the planet be in Dustana in D-chart he does bad to that chart portfolio even if he is exalted or in his own house in that D-chart. All these establish the necessity of a planet being in good positions from the D-lagna to give the good results.

    4. A combust or vanquished planet (in planetary fight) in D-1 is of no avail in D chart even if he is well placed and powerfully situated in D- Chart. He will give worst results to that D-effect if he is also badly placed in D-chart. It precisely amounts to dealing with a dead object.

    5. If a planet situated favorably in D-chart is debilitated it gives good effect if it attains Neecha Bhanga.

    6. Of all the powerful positions the most important are (a) Exaltation (b) Vargottama © Own house (d) Digbala. All these have to be applied to all the D-Charts. In this connection remember that a planet situated in the same sign both in D-1 and any other D-Chart must be construed as being in Vargottama with respect to that D chart and the effects of that D-chart read thereon. Unfortunately this aspect is being judged only by Navamsha position. (D-9) when you apply this theory you get convinced.

    7. For reasons stated above exaltations in 3,6,8 or 12 in D-Chart are of no avail.

    8. See if any of the general Yogas exist in the D-chart. If so gauge the magnitude by their strengths as stated above.

    9. The effects of planets in the D chart get modified by conjunction or aspect of other planets in the D chart. Here only the natural benefics and natural malefics are to be taken and not the functional ones. Among benefics, Guru is the only planet to alleviate evil indicated by a planet in bad position in the D-chart. If that Guru is powerfully situated in that D chart his aspect is certainly of effect, but a debilitated Guru cannot be banked upon.

    10. The birth Yogi and Avayogi have to be noted here. If the birth Yogi is in a good place in D-chart, he gives yoga to that effect but in a bad position he is lost. Similarly, birth Avayogi in a favorable position in D-chart will create hindrances, anxieties and trouble.

    11. Lordship of Bhavas are to be considered only in D-1 and not in D-charts except lord of D-lagna.

    12. A debilitated planet in D-Chart though in good position gives bad, if there be no Neecha Bhanga.

    13. D-Lagna becoming Vargottama is itself an indication of the effect of that D-Chart going very high provided its lord is well placed there. If he is in Dusthana in such a D-chart, only dreamy effects are felt by the native. In addition to D-lagna being Vargottama, its lord be also likewise or otherwise powerfully and favourably situated in D-chart, he gives excellent results.

    14. 3rd and 8th places are deathlike places. A planet in 8th or 3rd in D-chart causes death to that effect. In D-9 to wife, in D-10 to profession. Death may be construed as also severance. A planet in 3rd in D-10 causes retirement from service. Please note the exception of Shani in 1st house in D-8 and Budha in 8th in D-4.

    15. 2nd house is said to be a neutral house. A planet in 2nd house in a D-chart also behaves likewise.

    16. A planet in 6th house in D-chart in a powerful rasi gives good first and bad later on.

    17. It is said in general astrology that the more the number of planets aspecting Lagna, the more powerful the native becomes. The same theory applies to D-chart also.

    18. Benefics on either side of Lagna is said to confer Yoga. True even in the case of D-chart. But in such a situation if any malefic joins the benefic, the Yoga gets marred. Similarly, malefics on either side though spoils first, gets better if any benefics joins them. What is said of Lagna holds good with respect to the 7th house too. Here one thing has to be noted. In the case of malefics if they are Birth Yogi or in their own house in D-chart they give modified good effects.

    19. Just as the 2nd and the 12th places from the lagna were dealt in point 18, if planets are placed equidistantly from lagna such as 2-12, 3-11, 4-10, 5-9, 6-8, 1-7 they cause effects as stated above depending on their natural benefic or malefic character. This is a special mention of Jaimini known as Sankhya Yoga.

    19. In D-12 if moon is with Kethu invariably the native's mother becomes a widow.

    20. Planets or bhavas hemmed in between malefics goes bad. Similarly a planet in a D-chart or a D-chart lagna hemmed in between malefics becomes bad.

    21.Malefics in 12th, 1st and 2nd houses in a D-chart is not good. Benefics in 12th, 1st and 2nd houses in a D-chart is good.

    22. An incident such as marriage day, commencement of profession or fresh undertaking, birth of an issue, etc happening during the period of a planet situated badly in the respective D-chart may not end happily.

    23. Accession, election and other positions of conferrable nature are to be read from D-11.

[D11 is Labhamsa (profit & loss) (2 degrees, 8 mins and 11 secs) He gave this quite a lot of importance. For even if one's status is not good a happily situated D11 chart will confer on the native financial felicity tending his balance sheet towards profit side even without the least exertion for the same due to his past good karma. D10 represents earned income, while D11 represents unearned income as patrimony, easy income, side income, lottery, gambling etc. The formation of this chart is peculiar. In all rashis start from Mesha only and go in reverse order. Thus you see that the sign Vrishabha goes without any Amsha as the last eleventh Amsha closes with Mithuna.]

    24. Uccha with Neecha or one with his enemy – Not good.

    25. Of the 2 planets on either side of lagna or equidistant from D-lagna if one is benefic and the other malefic, then bad results are felt only during the malefic period.

    26. A planet, though in the 8th house in D-chart, does not harm if aspected by a powerful Guru.

    27. Female horoscope is specially treated by classics confining at least to our Indian womanhood. As marriage and married life is held sacred in India D-9 is held very important for females. If this Navamsha chart is good, all the rest are good.

    28. A karaka in bad position in D-8 kills the relative connoted by the karaka. Sun in 8th house in D-8 kills father, Moon - Mother, Shukra -Wife and so on.

    29. Any yoga in a D-chart is no doubt operative through out life but is particularly felt during their periods.

    30. Even a debilitated planet in good position in a D-chart does good if he is a Yoga Planet.

    31. In D-11 the effect of the Bhava occupied by the planet counted from D-lagna happens, one in 7th house causes marriage, in 4th property etc.

    32. Parivartana Yoga (mutual exchange of grahas) existing in D-chart has its due effect.

    33. What are all said of the planets in D-charts will be felt during their periods.

    34. If the lord of the D-lagna is Birth Yogi or Duplicate Yogi he gives Yoga effects even in ordinary position.

    35. If the lord of the D-lagna is in Dusthana the result will be bad on or after its Dasha.

    36. Karaka in Bhava is bad as per general astrology. How to apply it to D-charts? Karaka in the corresponding D-lagna is bad. Example: If Budha is in lagna in D-24 education gets spoiled. Shukra in D-9 lagna affects the wife. Sun and moon in D-12 lagna affects father and mother respectively. Kuja in D-3 lagna affects the younger co-born and so on.

  5. <TABLE class=post cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=row vAlign=top align=left width="100%">Dear seekers and learners , Listed below is an example as to how to evaluate D9 chart.

    EXAMPLE: XYZ LADY

RASHI CHART: Leo Ascendant –Virgo, Rahu in 2H – Scorpio Ju, Merc, Moon in 4H – Sagittarius, Sun, Saturn in 5H, Capricorn Venus in 6H - Pisces, Ketu in 8H – Aries, Mars in 9H.

NAVAMSA CHART: Cancer, Jup in Ascendant – Leo, Moon, Rahu in 2H – Libra, Sun in 4H – Scorpio, Mars in 5H – Aquarius, Venus, Ketu in 8H – Pisces, Merc in 9H – Gemini, Saturn in 12H

ANALYSIS:(I have taken only those areas which will involve different “relation mechanism” between the two charts)

I SUGGEST THAT YOU WILL BETTER UNDERSTAND THE FOREGOING EXPLANATION ONLY IF YOU ACTUALLY DRAW THE CHARTS AND SEE. Please do not read it theoretically:

    (1) Her Rashi chart Asc Lord is Sun, placed in 5H and its dispositor Jup in Scorpio in friendly sign but in its 12th house. In Navamsha, her Rashi chart ASC lord Sun is debilitated in 4H. Her navamsha chart ASC lord Moon is also debilitated in 4th house of rashi chart. This indicates that she is a pious/religious person (Sun placed in 5H), but will limit her bhakti in tune with other responsibilities (Jup in Scorpio in friendly sign but in its 12th house), She will lack opportunities to prove her personality or her house-mates (4H) will not value her virtuous qualities (Rashi chart ASC lord Sun is debilitated in 4H and navamsha chart ASC lord Moon is also debilitated in 4th house of rashi chart)

    (2) The 7L + Asc Lord is in 5th house. Her D9 7L is also Saturn and is in 12th house and the D9 5L aspects it. Venus is in Saturnine sign in and in bad houses in both the charts. This shows that the native will have a love marriage. (There are many other combinations that may also lead to love marriage).

    (3) Her 5L and 2L in rashi chart are in 4H with Moon, indicating that she is a musician. This also indicates that she will earn (2H) through tuitions (5L) at home (4H) and the students mostly women (Moon). In Navamsa, Jupiter is in Cancer. Assume that this Navamsa Jupiter is “as it is, along with the cancer sign”, kept in the rashi chart - on the cancer sign. Then the “guest Jupiter” will be opposite to the natal Venus in RASI CHART. This also indicates that she is musician and will teach. – Mahesh, this is what exactly Shri K.N.Rao is indicating you to do. He is NOT asking us to change the lagna (rashi chart or navamsha chart). All he means is something like – Lift the NAVAMSA CHART and keep it on the RASI CHART in such way that rashis in both the chart come on each other and then see! (Technically, this means that ASSUME the lagna in Navamsa is that of Rasi Chart)

    (4) Planets in her 4H house of rashi chart are in scorpio and scorpio is the sign in her 5th house of Navamsha. This also indicates “teaching at home”. Again, this is also the same exercise what Shri K.N.Rao says. BUT THIS TIME IT IS OTHER WAY - Lift the RASI CHART and keep it on the NAVAMSA CHART in such way that rashi in both the chart come on each other and then see! (Technically, this means that ASSUME the lagna in Rasi chart is that of Navamsa Chart).

  6. The Rashi Chart and the Divisional charts

( Rashi Chakra and Varga Chakra )

By Tanvir Chowdhury The Rashi Chart

The Rashi Chart (Also called - Rashi Chakra) is the chart showing mere placement of the planets in the sky in reference to Rashis (Zodiac Signs). The natal Rashi Chart shows which planet was in which Rashi (Sign) on the time of the birth of a native. In Rashi Chart a Rashi is marked as natal ascendant (Janma Lagna) and that sign is counted as the first house. Thus the 12 different signs become the 12 different houses, where each house controls a set of matters. Depending upon the nature, rulership, strength, relationships among the planets placed in different Rashis, the good and bad of the native is derived by the astrologer.

    The Divisional Charts

On the other hand, a Divisional Chart (Varga Chakra) is not the DIRECT chart of planets in the sky. The Rashi Chart is a sort of Direct Snapshot of the sky at a moment. That is why it is a 'True chart' which exists in physical level of material creation. On the other hand a Divisional Chart is not a direct chart of placement - a Divisional Chart does not exist in the true astronomy, but it as a 'Virtual Chart' derived from the Rashi Chart, and there is the glory of Vedic Astrology!

    Making a Divisional Chart

When we will make a Divisional chart, Each Rashi will be divided into equal parts, the number of the parts depending up on which Divisional Chart we are going to create. Suppose, we are going to make the Navamsa Chart, which is a 9th divisional or harmonic chart, also called D-9. Now, Each Rashi in the Rashi Chart will be divided in to 9 equal parts, and each of the 9 parts will represent a separate Rashi in the Navamsa (D-9) Chart, that way the 9th Divisional Chart will be made.

As an example, let us suppose that Moon is in Aries in one's Rashi Chart. We want to make the Saptamsa (D-7) Divisional Chart for the native. Now we will divide Aries in to 7 equal parts, and as per the rules of Vedic Astrology, each seventh part will denote some separate 'Rashi'(s) in the D-7 chart. Now if the part of Aries where Moon is, denotes Gemini in D-7 chart, the Moon will be in Gemini in D-7 Chart. All other planets will change signs the same way and make a complete new chart for the native.

That is why, the Moon is not in Gemini in the sky in real, it is in Aries. However, it is in the "D-7 Gemini part" in Aries that is why in D-7 Chart Moon will go to Gemini. A Divisional Chart is completely different from the Rashi Chart, however, one planet may occupy same sign in Rashi Chart and in other Divisional Charts, that is only a co-incident.

    Uses of Divisional Charts

The most respectable authority of Vedic Astrology, Maharishi Parasara, speaks about 16 Divisional Charts. They are The Rashi itself (D-1), Hora (D-2), Drekkana (D-3), Chathurthamsa (D-4), Saptamsa (D-7), Navamsa (D-9) and so on. Maharishi Parasara goes upto Shastiamsa (D-60) which is made dividing a Rashi in to 60 parts and the level of accuracy Vedic Astrology allows us to go to, can be imagined easily by this. Even Ashtottaramsa (D-108) is used by some most experienced astrologers to look into most subtle and accurate events possible!

Maharishi Parasara also speaks about the use of these Divisional Charts. He has said to see the body of the native from Rashi Chart (D-1) itself, whereas he has suggested to look at other Divisional Charts for other affairs, such as wealth from D-2, siblings from D-3, profession from D-10 etc. Some of these indications are similar to house significations like 3rd from ascendant deals with co-borns, and the D-chart dealing with siblings is D-3. We see profession from 10th house and the D-chart dealing with profession is D-10. However it is not always true, like D-12 deals with mother and father though we look at 4th house for mother. Sometimes it is a bit similar like the 7th house is a secondary house for progeny and for the same matter we look at D-7 chart. However the main house dealing with progeny is of course the 5th house.

As per Maharishi Parasara's advice, we can understand easily which house is to be looked at for which matter. Suppose, someone got an infection in the body. What would say this? Since it is about the body and self, the Rashi Chart (D-1) itself has to be seen. Infection is seen from the 6th house, so we should look at the 6th house and lord in the Rashi Chart. Now different houses denote different body parts, they will have to be looked at for more details. Like influence of 6th lord (infection) on 2nd house (face) in Rashi Chart (Chart of body) might cause infection in face.

Suppose, we want to know about native's education. Should we look at the Rashi Chart again? Logically, No. Because it has to be seen from Chaturvimsamsa (D-24) since this D-chart deals with education. Now if we look closer -

    * 4th house in D-24: Formal education itself. Reason - 4th house is of formal education.

    * 5th house in D-24: Original knowledge the person owns. Reason - 5th house is of knowledge. An 'ordinary student' might have a better knowledge than a 'better student' than him in the same class. I have seen in my personal experiences that many students have good knowledge about the subject but don't get the best marks or stands first always. He is weak in 4th house (result of education, mostly) but not in 5th house (knowledge).

    * 6th house in D-24: Competitors in studies. Reason - 6th house is rivals. For a first boy in the school, this will signify the 2nd boy, 3rd boy and so on, whoever among the classmates compete with him in studies. It will not signify an ordinary student of his class since the first boy does not have to ever compete with any ordinary student for his place.

Note - A student with strong 6th house in D-24 might stand 'Always first' in his class, defeating his enemies (6th) in education (D-24) if it also also supported by houses 4th, 11th etc.

7th house in D-24: Stands for the joint activities in the student life / acquiring of knowledge. Reason - 7th house rules joint activities. It might be group studies, making hand-notes in a group of fellow students etc. In my early student life I used to make notes and reference materials and exchange them with other students against notes written by them. Which else among the houses would signify this since 7th house is the house of trading?

    * 8th house in D-24: Hidden or spiritual knowledge the person owns. Reason - 8th house is the house of hidden things and spirituality. It might also cause a sudden 'change' in student life.

    * 9th house in D-24: The knowledge related to religion and the role of the teacher in relation of acquiring knowledge in the person's life. Reason - 9th house signifies religion, teachers etc.

    * 11th house in D-24: Awards and prizes in student life. Reason - 11th house is achievement. Not all good students get awards, scholarships and medals in a standard way.

    * 11th house in D-24 will also stand for the friends in his class or educational life. A first boy might like an ordinary student in his class to be a good friend of him. He might not have a good friendship with other good students.

    * 12th house in D-24: Knowledge of foreign matters such as foreign languages, foreign cultures etc. Reason - 12th house rules the foreign.

So, logically we see that for the matters which are not directly related to body and health, we should not be looking at the Rashi Chart for the answer. Parasara hinted this clearly and this is the real way of Jyotish.

    Logical inapplicability of Rashi Charts

When we think logically, we see it clearly that Rashi Chart becomes totally illogical for using. Let me give a little example. In around 1990 or 1991, there started broadcasting educational programmes in our TVs about population growth and problems created for this - to aware the illiterate people about it. It was shown that in 1990 about 5 babies used to take birth in each minute in this little country (Bangladesh).

Now, this is 2003 and each minute at least 7/8 babies take birth in our country.

The Rashi Chart is based on the Lagna (Ascendant) which keeps same for continuous two hours for a place. So, a Rashi Chart is basically SAME for the total two hours. So, when we are reading a Rashi Chart, we are reading the person's fate + more 7X120=840 people's fate same time - who ALL have almost SAME Rashi Chart!!!

Now, I was born on 24th Dec 1982, 12.30 AM, Dhaka. In the same 'Specific two hours' that night, at least 3X120=360 babies were born who have all the same Rashi Charts like me. Now, whatever result I take out of my Rashi Chart, should be applied to them also!! I started studying Jyotish in 2001, when I was running my exalted 8th lord's period (Spirituality) who is in the 5th house (Knowledge) in my Rashi Chart. That time it gave me a lot of spiritual insight and I also wrote some Jyotish Articles (Mars is 3rd lord-writings) and created a website for it. I was also a lonely the whole time - all these are clear significations of an exalted 8th lord in 5th. That really matches and proves to be really worthy.

But what about those other 360 kids who have the same Rashi Chart of me? They have the same sequence and Vimsottari Dasa and they all ran the Dasa almost same time - so they ALL should learn astrology and make website like me, almost same time in around 2001! But today from my country I see no one of my age to study astrology on the net like this and open website like me! But logically, they all should study astrology at the same level of me, open same standard websites like me and own forums like me... WHY... because we derive all these results from the Rashi Chart, right??

A few months ago I visited India for 2 days intending only to buy some Jyotish books which I did. Now, all those 360 clone-boys should be going to India for the same reason. Forgetting about 360 boys, at least 20/25 boys of them should REALLY study Jyotish to my level and if at least ANY ONE of them did, I would meet him on the net because he would be having a site and forum like me on the net! But no, I did not! As we are deriving all the results from the Rashi Chart, at least SOME of them should be having a forum like me! But no, no such forum on the net than mine is owned by someone of my age. What do all these say about the Rashi Chart?

All the basic and major events of my life can be explained well with the Rashi Chart and Vimsottari Dasa, but all the clone boys have the same Rashi Chart positions and they all would have the same major events in their lives and basically we all should have a same life! All their family background, social status, educational status, talents, professional status would be same! But in real even the twins who were born 2 minutes apart have so much major differences in lives, and live complete different lives, then what is about people born in the same two hours, and having the same Rashi Chart?

If Rashi Chart would be indicating the results accurately / reliably then there would be at least 10/15 SAME COPIES of each people because at least 10/15 people would be born the same day in the CLOSE same two hours having almost same Rashi Charts. And then there would be 10/15 W Bush(es) ruling 10/15 powerful countries like the U.S.A. But in practical life, there is only U.S.A. possible and not 10/15. There would be at least 10/15 more Bill Gates with same huge wealth who would own 10/15 same big separate software making companies like Microsoft and each step of their lives would be same and SIMULTANEOUS because we explain all these by the Rashi Chart, right?

So logically and practically, Rashi Chart becomes something that we can not depend on at all! And that IS the truth, that is why we will have to consult different Divisional Charts for different purposes.

Even then, WHY do Rashi Charts work?

Even after all these discussion, we see that Rashi Charts do work. Almost all the Jyotishas use ONLY Rashi Charts and make successful predictions. I also very rarely use Divisional Charts - I can not use them much. In practice the Rashi Chart always shows the past, present and future very well. Even though the other 360 kids do not have the same fortune of me, (Though the Rashi Chart is same.) my Rashi Chart matches to my life very exactly and so is about others lives. But then, how come is that possible?

I have thought a lot, a lot about it since from no one I could get the answer till today. And the only one answer that I could find out is 'Divinity'! And that IS the only true answer. It is true that the Rashi Chart is same for a lot of people and they all do not have the same fortune. But even then, in practice, Rashi Charts indicate the life and Karma very well. This is possible only for the divinity of the creation. Yes, a lot of people would have the same Rashi Chart, BUT ONLY THE ONE / A FEW WHO'S LIFE WILL MATCH TO THE RASHI CHART will have their charts made by a Jyotisha and thus it will come true. Other people will never have an opportunity in their lives to get their reading - because their reading will not match as per Rashi Chart. Because some 90%+ people never truly believe Astrology and among the people who do, very few people of them have the chance to get their charts made by an Astrologer. Only because it is the divinity and his life will match to the Rashi Chart then only his chart can be made. Not of the other people.

This again leads us to the fact that we have no kind of will power over our Karma, and basically all kinds of deep spiritual discussion leads us to the same conclusion. So Rashi Chart is basically a divinity, just like the Prasna or Horary Chart is. Even Horary Chart actually shows the failure sign of our so called free will. Thus our thoughts and acts being fully and strictly controlled by the divinity are keeping the creation balanced and thus everything is being possible to happen in a planned way and only for that reason we are able to know the full life of someone at his or her birth with this divine Hora Sastra.

  7. HOW TO JUDGE DEBILITATED PLANETS IN ASTROLOGY" <TD>One of the vital aspects of predictive astrology is the strength of the planets. The planets in their own planetary sub-periods give the results of their general and particular significations as per their natal and transit strength. Debilitation is a measure for ascertaining the strength of planets. While in its sign of debilitation, a planet is considered weak. When the planet is weak on account of its placement in its sign of debilitation, the planet delays its results, fails to protect its significations fully and causes stresses and strains when under the close affliction of functional malefic planets. During the period of a debilitated planet one meets with sorrows, unhappy events, is timid, miserable and faces worried conditions. So, this is a negative factor as during its sub-periods, it denies, delays and/or deteriorates the opportunities and significations in life of an individual. The operational period of a planet whether strong or weak, whether benefic or malefic etc., is of great importance and the same is very pertinent in this case also.

Saravarth Chintamani indicates that the native lives by despicable and low means, forsaken by people and suffers from disease. As per Saravali a debilitated planet during its main/ sub-periods will trouble the native through his enemies, defeat and poverty, even if he were a king.

Saravali declares the debilitated planets fully inauspicious. Such planets lose their capacity to do well in addition to becoming capable of bestowing malefic effects, in full.

A lot can be read on the subject in print in clear contravention of the hints given by ancient astrological writers in the name of Raja Yogas arising out of cancellation of debilitation of debilitated planets. It does not appear to be true in all cases. The so-called rise in life around the age of 33 years is experienced by an individual only in cases where there are other Raj Yogas in the horoscope and the main periods of the Yogakaraka planets are in operation. This in itself shows/supports the applicability of delay caused by the weak planets due to debilitation. The inference of some modern writers or the ancient commentators that the Neechbhanga Raj yoga gives rise in life after the age of 33 years shows the truth of the classical dictum on results of debilitated planets.

A debilitated planet in angular position to the Moon aspected by benefics, its dispositor being strong by exaltation or occupying own house or in an angular position to the Moon/lagna etc. are the factors advanced by the proponents of the concept of Neechbhanga Rajyoga as the basis for these so called cancellation of debilitation. In a way this gives a little strength to the planet that is weak due to debilitation and can reduce the malefic effects of the debilitated planet to a limited extent. In no way this can match the Raj yoga (combinations of fortunes) caused by a Yogakaraka planet. A debilitated planet gives its results for the houses ruled, its significations and the planets/houses it aspects/occupies close to the most effective point. In case it is further afflicted by way of placement in dusthanas, in conjunction with malefic planets/combustion, it damages all sectors mentioned in the earlier sentence.

If two debilitated planets mutually and closely aspect each other and one of them is a functional malefic planet, the said planetary influence produces disastrous results pertaining to the weak functional benefic planet. During the sub-periods of these debilitated planets the natives suffered so much that the indications of both the houses where these planets are located almost got destroyed because in the sub-period of any planet, problems in the relative areas are indicated.

The author has closely observed such combinations and have found that in case the period of such a planet operates, it gives overall negative results through delays, denials and sufferings caused by the transit planetary influences. In case the main period of such a planet does not operate, its sub-period in the main periods of other planets results in delay in the general growth of the individual. Of course, it goes without saying that whenever the sub-period of debilitated planets, even with so called debilitation cancellation in operation, is clubbed by unfavorable transits or in the main periods of functional malefic planets, it really gives very bad results. It does not promote or protect its own general and particular significations. On the other hand, it can cause sufferings to the native. The learned readers would find the efficacy of this point of view in the analysis of horoscopes. It can and acts as a very powerful predictive tool because one rarely finds a horoscope without debilitated planet(s). In the sub-periods of functional benefic planets, which are in the state of debilitation, the significations ruled not only lack protection but the same are also delayed, denied or face deterioration.

To augment the strength of the debilitated planets the natives are recommended to wear planetary Kavach in auspiciously elected times to (i) protect the significations ruled by these planets during transit afflictions; and (ii) to promote the significations of these planets.

During the sub-period of debilitated Sun one finds that social circles are ignoring the person. Some conflict springs up with government authorities. The person develops fear of unfavorable action from government. The son, father or husband may find trouble. One has to put in lot of efforts for success and recognition. One gets little time and peace for attending to one's spiritual pursuits.

During the sub-period of debilitated Moon, the mental peace of the person is lost. One's mother or wife may not enjoy good health. The property matters may give unfavorable results. People try to avoid the person. If such a debilitated Moon is under the close influence of Rahu or the lords of the eighth and twelfth houses, the person gets involved in many vices and loses mental peace. One is vulnerable to epileptic fits.

During the sub-period of debilitated Mars one is angry and suffers from injuries due to rashness. One suffers from blood impurities, hypertension and multiple boils. If such a debilitated Mars is under the exact or close affliction of Rahu one becomes vulnerable to Cancer. One incurs losses in property matters and disputes.

During the sub-period of debilitated Mercury one is confused, sensitive, slow in decision making and one suffers from lack of confidence and nervous pressures. The peace of mind is disturbed. One becomes vulnerable to convulsions, paralysis and skin diseases if the debilitated Mercury is under the influence of Rahu, especially from the malefic houses.

During the sub-period of debilitated Jupiter one suffers from liver disorders and fevers. One cannot concentrate on studies. There are obstructions in one's spiritual pursuits. One becomes selfish. One suffers on account of problems to one's male progeny and husband. If such debilitated Jupiter is badly placed and is under the severe affliction of Rahu/Ketu or the lords of the eighth or twelfth houses, one becomes vulnerable to liver cirrhosis, jaundice and diabetes.

During the sub-periods of debilitated Venus, one faces loss of comforts. One's wife suffers from ill-health. In the case of females they suffer from urinary infections, malfunctioning of uterus and fallopian tubes. One becomes vulnerable to skin problems, eye-diseases and renal problems if debilitated Venus is severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet.

During the sub-periods of debilitated Saturn one has to struggle more for success. One may suffer from bone fractures, pain in legs or spinal problems. One may get involved in leading the low class people or laborers. One does not enjoy good social respect.

During the sub-periods of debilitated Rahu one is vulnerable to vices and loss of reputation. During the sub-periods of debilitated Ketu one confronts many unfavorable incidents and failures.

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the first house one suffers from health problems and loss of status. The debilitated lord of the first house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to addictions and loss of status.

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the second house one loses wealth, status and harmonious relationship. The debilitated lord of the second house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to the diseases of eyes, thyroid, problems to teeth, problem of speech and results in sorrows on account of tragedy to male relations.

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the third house one faces isolation and one's younger brothers face troubles. The debilitated lord of the third house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to the breathing problems and financial losses through business ventures.

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the fourth house one loses mental peace and properties and one's mother and education suffer. The debilitated lord of the fourth house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to the loss of assets, loss of parents, cardiac disorders and unhappiness through marital discord.

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the fifth house one's concentration is lost and one suffers unhappiness on the performance of children. The debilitated lord of the fifth house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to the loss of children, losses through speculative investments, liver cirrhosis, stomach disorders, spinal inflammations and gall bladder problem.

During the sub period of debilitated lord of the sixth house one suffers from ill-health arising out of acidity, inflammation of intestine, renal disorders, etc. The debilitated lord of the sixth house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to losses through thefts, fires, litigation and cheatings.

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the seventh house one suffers from problems in marriage, partnerships and in foreign lands. The debilitated lord of the seventh house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to marital discord, cheating in partnership business and suffers from severe difficulties in foreign lands.

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the eighth house one suffers from obstructions and delays and one's life is threatened. The debilitated lord of the eighth house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to fatal accidents and one's father may suffer financial setbacks and severe health problems. One also faces divorce in marital relationship.

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the ninth house one's father suffers from problem and the person gets setbacks in life. The debilitated lord of the ninth house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to physical handicap and prolonged health problems.

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the tenth house one gets professional setbacks and has to move away from his native place. The debilitated lord of the tenth house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to arthritis, government action, loss of reputation and sufferings on account of one's child(ren).

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the eleventh house one faces loss of income and trouble to friends and elder brother(s). The debilitated lord of the eleventh house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to blood Cancer, isolation and penury.

During the sub-period of debilitated lord of the twelfth house one faces separation in marital relationships and loss of comforts. The debilitated lord of the twelfth house when severely afflicted by Rahu/Ketu or the most malefic planet makes one vulnerable to drug addiction, imprisonment and prolonged hospitalisation.

It is imperative to seek astrological help through preventive horoscope analysis and strengthen one's debilitated and other weak planets to avert setbacks in life. It is also necessary to perform propitiatory astrological remedial measures for the afflicting planets to enjoy a peaceful life.

  8. "HOW TO STUDY DIVISIONAL CHARTS IN ASTROLOGY" <TD>

Although ancient astrological texts mention how to work out the divisional charts and importance of their study, nowhere is an integrated approach for study of the divisional charts available. Solitary principles (sutras) indicating that if a particular planet is in a particular sign in a particular divisional chart then the results would be so and so, find place in the text and commentaries of ancient astrological writers. These texts and commentaries are suffering from both omissions and interpolations because of the absence of recording facilities in ancient times. Therefore, we have to be careful in adopting only such classical principles, which have stood the test of time. These classical principles have to be read in conjunction with one another and not in isolation.

    1. First of all, the birth-data should be correct for study of any divisional chart. In D-charts we take into account the analysis of position changing with a difference of even one minute in the time of birth.

    2. As there is every possibility of some amount of error in recording the time of birth even in cases where utmost care has been taken to record the correct time of birth, it is imperative that divisional analysis is taken up only up to (D-XII). For divisional analysis beyond (D-XII) only the position of lord of the corresponding houses and the natural significator planets should be considered in the concerned D charts. The ascendant as well as its lord in the divisional charts beyond D-XII could prove to be unreliable.

    3. The longitudes of ascendant and planets should be correctly worked out along with divisional charts.

    4. The study of the divisional charts should be taken up along with the main chart. The divisional charts are used for trying the strength of the planets. In the divisional charts the strength of the following is studied:

    (i) the lord of the house of a particular significations in D-I;

(ii) the significator of the particular aspect of life; and

(iii) the lord of the ascendant of the concerned divisional chart if it contains an MT sign is examined.

    5. A planet that is weak on account of debilitation or for that matter on any other account in D-I until and unless strengthened, during the course of its sub-periods, would hardly be of any help to the significations of its concerned divisional charts. In this connection the readers may please refer to Chapter 4 on 'Analyzing Debilitated Planets' for detailed study.

    6. A natal planet that is weak due to combustion lacks power to protect or promote the houses and significations ruled by it. In this connection, the readers may please refer to Chapter 5 on 'Analyzing Combust Planets' for detailed study.

    7. Whenever the slow moving malefics in transit come in degree conjunction with the natal position of planets or the most effective point of ascendant and other houses in D-I they cause prolonged stress signified by the houses involved or the planets.

    8. Occupation of the ascendant of divisional chart by the nodes or the eighth lord of the D-chart in case a moolatrikona sign is rising in the D-chart ascendant creates stress for the significations of the D-chart. The good placement in D-chart of the lord of the relevant house of D-I and significator helps in promoting the significations of the D-chart. The bad placement of the lord(s) of the relevant house(s) of D-I and significator of the particular aspect of life in D-chart causees stress regarding the significations of the D-chart.

    9. The strength of planets in rasi chart should be given due consideration.

    10. The planets influencing the ascendant, angles and trines of D-charts and with the significator by conjunction/aspect touch the significations of the concerned divisional charts in their sub-periods.

11 Occupation of angles/trines by nodes in D-charts do not bless the native with good results in the relevant fields.

    12. Any planet which is exalted in Rasi chart and debilitated in the D-chart will give ordinary results.

    13. For timing specific events, the strength of the lord of the sub-period is examined in the birth chart, D-chart, and transit. The relationship of the sub-period lord with the main period lord and its strength in D-chart is of paramount importance.

    14. When both the lords of the main period and sub-period are functional malefics, they denote destruction and loss in contrast to the benefics, which do no harm and promote their significations.

    15. The functional malefic lord of a house if closely related with another functional malefic planet and is placed in inauspicious houses, produces tension in its own sub-period and sub-periods of other malefics in its own main-period.

    16. The transit influences are considered only in D-I.

    17. The planetary aspects are considered in the D-charts.

    18. Those planets, which are placed in the malefic houses in a D chart, also turn weak but this weakness is milder than the weakness of planets placed in the malefic houses of D-I. This weakness is considered only for the significations of the relevant D-chart only.

    19. If a planet is a functional benefic in D-I but turns out to be a functional malefic for the D Chart, its malefic impact would be limited to the respective D Chart only. The influence would be applicable only in a milder way in case it is influencing the ascendant or the fourth house of the D Chart.

    CONTROVERSY

There has been a controversy whether the varga charts should be read independently or as a supplement to the main chart. Some opine that the divisional charts could only supplement what was shown in the basic chart and that the intensity of benefic and malefic results pertaining to any particular D-chart depends upon the strength or weakness of the planets in D-I. However, some others advocate that the divisional charts should be read independently.

The study of various charts together with their divisional charts shows that divisional charts have to be read only as a supplement to the birth charts. The rasi charts and the divisional charts are inter-related and have to be read in conjunction with each other. The apparent strength acquired by the planets by being in own mooltrikona sign or by being in exaltation in the birth chart may produce ordinary or negative result if these occupy the debilitated sign in divisional charts or are afflicted in the divisional charts. As against this, the weakness of planets due to debilitation, combustion, etc., in the zodiac at any given time cannot be made good even if they occupy exalted amsa in any particular divisional chart. This is as per the views of the propounder of Astrology, Maharishi Parashara. We can safely infer that the natal weakness of planets cannot be made up even by joining benefic houses in divisional charts, or by not being debilitated there, or by obtaining maximum benefic points in Ashtakavarga.

As our stress is to make the study of astrology scientific, we have to test each and every dictum provided to us by classical works in our laboratory, I mean, sufficient number of charts are to be analysed for empirical studies. The weakness of planets arising due to the sources of weakness mentioned in chapter 2, until and unless strengthened, is permanent. If the combust planet becomes the lord of the ascendant of the divisional chart, the significations of the division concerned suffer further.

For timing the events, the sub-period of a strong planet or a strengthened planet, which is auspiciously placed in the divisional chart, with reference to the ascendant of the divisional chart, should be selected. The weakness or affliction should be guarded by using astrological remedial measures. In D-charts, the close conjunction/aspect of the D-chart functional benefics with the ascendant, relevant significators and trines regarding the ascendant boost the significations of the divisional charts. The D-chart functional malefics in such a state damage the significations, in their sub-periods.

Needless to emphasize the importance and necessity of studying the divisional charts as it helps us in accurately analysing the horoscope to meet the requirements of complexities in modern life. For progress, each and every step in life has to be planned ahead from the very beginning. The questions astrologers have to face are specific in nature for the specified time, which can only be answered after due consideration of the divisional charts. Quite often we come across horoscopes where rasi charts promise a good future in some particular sector, yet the results may be totally different. I am citing also a few charts which show that the study of rasi chart and divisional charts is inter-dependent. Sometimes, the natives suffered because of weak combinations in the birth chart, itself, of sometime due to planetary strengths and afflictions emerging in the D-charts. However, as indicated earlier, the divisional charts have to be read always as a supplement to the birth charts.

    TIMING THE EVENTS

For timing the events, the sub-period of a planet which is auspiciously placed in the divisional chart, with reference to the ascendant of the divisional chart should be selected. The weakness or affliction should be guarded by using astrological remedial measures.

The close conjunction/aspect of benefics with the ascendant, relevant significators and their trines in the divisional charts boost the significations of the divisional charts whereas malefics in such a state destroy the significations, in their main/sub-periods.

Needless to emphasize the importance and necessity of study of divisional charts as it helps us in accurately analyzing the horoscope to meet the requirements of complexities in modern life. For progress each and every step in life has to be planned ahead from the very beginning. The questions astrologers have to face are specific in nature for the specified time, which can only be answered after due consideration of the divisional charts. Quite often we come across horoscopes where rasi charts promise a very good future in some particular sector, yet the results may be totally different. I am citing a few charts, which clearly show that although the divisional charts do not show problem for relevant significations, ruled by them, the natives suffered because of weak combinations in the birth chart, itself. However, as indicated earlier the divisional charts have to be read as a supplement to the birth charts.

  9. . How do you interpret the transit effects with regards to the divisional charts?

No. Transit impacts are seen in the Divisional charts.

    2. Are the planetary aspects considered in the Divisional charts?

    Yes.

    3. As per 's books, the ninth house, in general denotes father, preceptor and general fortune. How would one define general fortune? The fact that D-9 or Navamsa is used for assessing marital significations (spouse) inter-alia other things, I was wondering as to how come ninth house and it's lord does not have any say in accessing marital significations in the Rasi chart?

Before marriage fortune is linked with parents (especially with father) and after marriage the spouse comes in. That is why both general fortune and marriage is seen from navamsa. But in rasi chart both has separate houses and the incidence of the spouse is seen from the second and fourth houses (besides the seventh house), which rule the house of family and parents, respectively

    4. Do we consider the navamsa chart even for questions other than marriage. Is it correct? Why not use the relevant divisional chart?

In navamsa the strength of the planets is seen. If some planet, which is strong in rasi chart and it is in the sign of its debilitation in navamsa, that planet becomes weak. We study main chart, then try strength of planets in Navamsa besides studying the navamsa for marital happiness and general fortune. For other aspects of the life in addition to the main and navamsa charts, the concerned divisional chart is also studied. For example, the Panchamsa is used for analysing the level of intelligence and learning while Ekadasamsa is examined for identifying the income.

    5. How do you interpret the transit effects with regard to divisional charts? Example - the Sun may be exalted in Rasi, but debilitated in Navamsa. In this case will the Rasi chart over ride navamsa chart effects?

No transit impacts are seen in the divisional charts.

    6. The divisional ascendant lords (when containing an moolatrikona) should be looked at to see if they are badly placed or not, and in which house. So if there is no mooltrikona in the divisional ascendant, then do you look to the Sun as in the Rasi for the Self?

You have to look for the strength of all the significators as per the natal rasi chart in the divisional chart.

  10. Bowing at the lotus feet of The Lord of the three worlds, the omnipotent and the omnipresent Sri Sai Nath of Shirdi. I would like to share with you (with due humility) my understanding with regard to divisional charts.

Astrologers of maturity have quite often said that a shastri is one who can efficiently use the shodashvarga as given by Mahirishi Parashara. It is further said that a person who uses the birth chart and Navamsha for predictions, is an ardhshastri. Readers using only the birth chart may at some point of time miss the finer picture.

It has been a habit among recent astrologers to completely ignore the divisional charts while giving predictions. The following reasons can be cited for this practice:

    a. The time of birth required should be correct for the effective use of such divisional charts. (This is generally difficult to come by, nowadays).

    b. The calculation and interpretation of such charts require much skill and only a genuine astrologer can justify it.

    c. This slows the speed of analysis and predicting as lots of data has to be filtered before an astrologer can reach a conclusion. Normally, this does not suit stereotype predictions. Also, those who come for consultations normally have no patience for a detailed analysis.

The secret of reading any divisional chart is to read it as an independent chart and examine the Avashtha of the various Karakas therein. In the absence of the exact time of birth in some exceptional cases, divisional chart can be examined from the birth lagna itself (rashi – tulaya). The applicability of the divisional charts is given below:

    1.Birth Chart:

This chart is of considerable importance since this is where the analysis of a horoscope starts. All other divisional charts have to show effects subject to the overall promise of the birth chart. In short all divisional charts are supplementary to the birth chart. Even analysis of the birth chart is enough for giving predictions. However, it is always advisable to consult other divisional charts to verify the replication of a promise.

    2.Hora:

Generally seen for ascertaining the quantum of wealth and the way the person is going to make his earning. Male planets in the Sun's Hora are seen as beneficial while female planets are effective in the Moon's Hora. If maximum planets are in the Sun's Hora it is said that the native earns money as a result of hard work but the quantum of wealth may be very good. If Moons Hora predominates, the earning will be relatively easy. However, this is subject to the Dhan yoga formed in the horoscope.

    3.Dreshkona:

Generally seen for knowing the happiness and promise from siblings of the native. However, it becomes very important for longevity analysis. As it is normally said that the lord of the 22nd Dreshkona is not good for the general health and longevity of the native. Apart from this, the planets falling in Sarpa Dreshkona and Phasha Dreshkona is not considered good for the native.

    4.Chaturthamsha:

Generally seen for ascertaining the overall happiness of the native, mainly with regard to the possibility of having immovable assets, particularly property. This chart can also be seen for the possibility of foreign immigration or change of residence. Marriage of a girl child (as it normally makes the girl change her house) can also be read from this horoscope.

    5.Saptamsha:

This is to be seen for confirming conception of children and the pleasures derived from having children. The Karaka and the avashtha of the fifth lord of the birth chart and the placement and influences on the fifth house and the fifth lord of the said divisional chart have to be observed.

    6.Navamsha:

This is the most important horoscope. This is used to see the actual strength of a planet. An exalted planet in the birth chart (if it debilitates in the Navamsha) may not give very good results or its effects can get diluted. However, a planet getting empowered in Navamsha by getting vargottama or by getting exalted will give good results. Apart from this, Navamsha is a horoscope that is used to find out about the spouse of the native. Some secrets of predictive astrology are hidden in the use of this divisional chart. Normally, no prediction should be made without confirming it from the Navamsha. The lord of 64th Navamsha from the Moon becomes highly important for the calculation of Longevity and the Maraka dasa.

    7.Dashamsha:

This chart is seen generally to get a clear picture of the profession of the native. The placement and avashtha of the tenth lord of the birth chart is important here. Apart from that the rashi rising in the 10th house of this divisional chart and the influence on the 10th house has also to be considered, to judge the profession and any professional growth or fall of the native. Like any other divisional chart this one has to be collaborated with the basic chart.

    8.Dwadashamsha:

This chart is generally seen for understanding the benefits arising out of parents. Respective longevity of both the parents can be understood from this chart. This chart is also said to reveal the Purva Janma Punya of the native. Here, (as in all divisional charts) the Avashtha of the natural Karaka has to be seen. Here, the Sun represents the father and the Moon represents the mother. Here, the influence on the ninth and the tenth house has to be understood. The Lord of the 88th Dwadashamsha is important in longevity analysis. This chart also is said to reveal whether a person inherits a disease from his parents.

    9.Shodhasamsa:

This is to see the promise of conveyances for the native and also accidents through conveyances. For this the Karaka for conveyance, Venus, has to be seen. Affliction to the 4th Lord and the 4th house has to be seen along with the affliction of Venus. This can lead to violent accidents if otherwise also promised in the Birth Chart.

    10.Vimshamsa:

This chart is seen for understanding the spiritual progress of the native. This chart is also said to give a clue with regard to the upasana of the native and the preferred deity of the native. The planet placed in the 5th and the 9th houses are important here. The overall exaltation or debilitation of planets holds a clue to understanding the overall growth of the native spiritually.

    11.Chaturvimshamsa:

This chart is said to give a finer picture with regard to the education of the individual. The house to be considered is the 5th house. Further, influences on the fifth house have to be seen along with the avashtha of the 5th Lord of the birth chart. The connection of 5th lord with the 6th, 8th and the 12th lord is supposed to bring disturbances and educational change for the native. If however, such planets are under benefic influence the change in education will be for the betterment of the native. Example of this can be that a person does Engineering and then does Management. This constitutes a change technically in astrological term but benefic association makes the change good for the general prosperity of the native.

    12.Saptavimshamsha:

This chart is seen to understand the general strengths and weaknesses of the native. It can sometimes be used to find the stamina, endurance and physical strength of an individual.

    13.Trimshamsha:

This chart is generally seen to ascertain the miseries, difficulties and diseases for a particular native. This chart in women horoscopy is also said to show the character of the native. It is said that in case of women if Trimshamsha of Mars is rising she is of questionable character. However, this chart can also be read to verify the character in case of a male native.

    14.Khavedamsha:

This is generally seen for studying the auspicious and inauspicious effects of horoscope on the native. But, it has to be noted that in prediction this chart cannot be used much as even few seconds of time difference can change the lagna. This should be used only on thoroughly rectified horoscopes.

    15.Akshvedamsha:

This is seen for ascertaining the character of the native and for general auspicious and inauspicious effect. Here, as in above case this chart becomes too time-sensitive, making it difficult to take it into account while giving prediction.

    16.Shastiamsha:

Maharishi Parashara has given lots of importance to this chart. This should be seen for every prediction. This chart makes the reading interesting and makes the analysis accurate. However, again the limitation of this is that it can be used on an astrologically rectified chart.

  11. <TABLE class=post cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=row vAlign=top align=left width="100%">FEMALE HOROSCOPES

According to Sage Prashar all the effects which have been described in astrology and for horoscopes all are applied to females also. The physical appearance of lady should be determined from the Ascendant just similar to males but fortune and longevity of husband must be analyzed 7th and 8th house therefore in case of Manglik lady a lot of care has to be taken. It is the reason that grand parent disorder generally never comes to female and it usually get transferred to male child as Mars in the horoscope of a lady usually act as impacting planet to the males related to her. We are not aware how much weight medicine gives it but in Vedic Text females has been blessed with a cosmic shield against the malefic impact of malefic planet which can impact a male but not a female. Genetic disorders or health problem are usually part of it. it is also seen that if some malefic impact is there then it can go up to 3 generations. Similarly widowhood, genial problem etc also propagates like wise. And those effects which are impossible to be characterized to the female, must be declared to be applicable to her husband. In Brihat Jataka of Sage Varha Mihir it is said that the effects which had been described for male horoscopes, if all those that are found in female horoscopes, suitable to females should be declared as applicable to them alone, and the rest should be ascribed to their husbands. The problem and longevity of the husband is to be deduced through the 8th place, from the Ascendant or the Moon whichever is stronger. Matters relating to her appearance, beauty etc. should be determined from the Ascendant and the sign occupied by the Moon. From the 7th place, from the Ascendant or the Moon which ever is stronger, her welfare or happiness and the nature of the husband should be established. Similarly Sage Mantrewara's Phaldeepika it is mentioned that the effects, which are declared for men, they entirely applicable to women too. The woman's prosperity and happiness have to be decide from the 8th place and children should be declared from the 9th house and matters relating to her appearance, beauty etc., should be determined from the Ascendant. From the 7th place that her welfare, power of influencing her husband and the nature of the husband should be determined. Good planets in these houses produce good results but other planets and certain combination tells about stress in her life which can be of the much aggressive nature then the impact seen in normal horoscope. It is one of the most important as well as sensitive segment of Vedic astrology to which we wish to like to share with the visitor of Vedalink's family site. In Vedic astrology, whatever effects may accrue from the horoscopes of females that are applicable only to men, and most of them are impacting husband or family life only. The good and other impact must be calculated from the Moon or the Ascendant whichever of them is stronger. Stronger means comparing them in 16 charts, and which ever getting more time better house or friend house or exalted house is known as stronger. From the present package, which is giving you the free horoscope and 21 charts, you can easily identify it, for your help the comparison chart is also provided in the package. From the 7th house from the Ascendant or the Moon one can identify the happiness and the 8th house from it can identify the most hurting event in a female life. All this should be well analyzed and duly by the strength or weakness of the planets, benefic and malefic, before an announcement is made, of the Ascendant and the Moon, find which is stronger. Many astrologers has opinion that the well being or the reverses of the husband can be determined from the 9th Bhava. Some holds that the widowhood is found out through, the 8th Bhava; and the placement of lord of 8th house in 7th house or vice verse are the major component makes such disasters in lady's life. One of the very famous astrologer of modern age namely Shri V. subrahmanya Sastry, from the southern part of India described it in more specific manner by dividing the views in three parts. These parts are (1) Impacts which are to be applied to women.(2) Impacts which are concerning to men alone(3) Impacts which are applied to both.Suppose for instance that there is Adhi Yoga found in ladies horoscope and is not in husband horoscope then Adhi yoga losses its impact on ladies life. As it is related to family hence contribution of male planets impacts it more. So in the transit of time of 6 years when stars of both get mixed with each other then the husband use to get the impact of the yoga of wife's horoscope. Same is applicable to friends of opposite sex, it is much related to moon and moon is more related to sense of security or caring duly felt by the person. We think that as now social status has been changed but certain impacts still standing as it is, and we have seen that such impacts acts and many ladies gets lessor result in life compare to their stars. We admit that in present scenario the females has taken up various kinds of occupation and holding high positions and posts of responsibility. They are also occupying high political positions. Such women are not dependent on their husbands or parents. But as far as the sensing the glimpse of Venus and Moon is concern it still same. More over it is also seen that if a female has very high or king kind of yoga in her chart then it use to give her fame out side as well as in home dominating impact. Due to the same reason she use to get a person whose planets are much weaker to her and such person can not absorb the glitter of her planets. Usually such persons are almost isolated of very cool in nature. According to one yoga, if a lady is born in day time and her ascendant and moon are in at Odd sign then she is recognized as a blessed lady with a lot of potential and also get the blessing of domestic harmony. But such ladies are masculine in form and bearing also hence they are much short tempered and use to have much control on others. Similarly if the birth is in night and her Ascendant and Moon are in even signs, then such lady use to get blessing of a lot of excellent qualities, be of loyal character, beautiful and physically fit. If between Ascendant or the Moon, one is in even sign and the other is in odd sign then such woman concerned are usually have the tough determination and also have much habits like males.

    ...Mananacharya

    IMPACT OF TRIMASA

Trimasa is the Chart related to misries and happiness, which are much concerned to ladies as Navamsha is considered for general public. It is holding key of getting knowledge about the female horoscope and without reading or knowing Trimasa chart it is not possible to understand the fate of a lady. The impact of Trimasa, which has been described by Sage of Vedic astrology, in brief the analysis is as under (we can not give the exact translation as Sage has used much clear words and same is not advised to say in open). If a lady is born:-When the Ascendant or the Moon (whichever is stronger) is in a sign of Aries or Scorpio and:-a. 12. Dear all,

I am sharing a really good story , with you ,if in distress, bad times and in grip of negative influences of the planets , you keep your thinking process clean and working and don't let the shadow of doubt from rahu and err attic negativity of moon to creep in , you may still find the way out.

    Enjoy the story.

    A good story...

An old man lived alone in a village. He wanted to spade his potato

garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who would have helped

    him, was in prison.

The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation:

    Dear Son,

I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won't be able to plant

my potato garden this year. I hate to miss doing the garden, because

your mother always loved planting time. I'm just getting too old to be

digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be

over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren't in prison.

    Love,

    Dad

Shortly, the old man received this telegram: "For Heaven's sake, Dad,

don't dig up the garden!! That's where I buried the GUNS!!"

At 4 a.m. the next morning, a dozen FBI agents and local police

Officers showed up and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns.

Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what

happened and asked him what to do next.

His son's reply was: "Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad... It's the

best I could do for you from here."

    Moral:

NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD, IF YOU HAVE DECIDED TO DO

SOMETHING DEEP FROM YOUR HEART YOU CAN DO IT. IT IS THE THOUGHT THAT

MATTERS NOT WHERE YOU ARE OR WHERE THE PERSON IS.

    Regards

    J.s.sandhu

    Have a nice day

  14. Dear ,

    Pranam all,

I have been reading on the internet and also hearing from people interested in this divine science that they have seen a few horoscopes that look very ordinary but the natives rise to fame and a great deal of fortune in their later life. Although there is also a possibility of overlooking some really good ancient yogs in the birth chart etc., but this is really encouraging for people who just give up hope so easily. I would politely request all the seniors here to share such experiences of meeting people with ordinary birth charts and a great successul and happy life.

    Regards,

    Ravi

  15. Dear VK ji,

After starting the thread i have used quite a bit of information which was published earlier and at different web sites, i wanted a comprehensive and detailed infornation to be available at one place, as regards why i have refrained to comment on stationary motion,' the answer is that i know a very little of western astrology thus i left it to stalwarts like you and others to express themselves on this approach.

    Dear Sandhu ji,

You have just reproduced copies of the articles already published some where & that too in pieces, in the posts.

Please note that as per Indian astrology, staionary planet is considered as very weak.

    Further you have not clarified

"What speed (motion / day) is considered for a planet to be stationary."

In my opnion here you should contribute also. & not merely reproduce that too without comment. Wester astrology has so may mathemetical models.

I HOPE NOW THE POINT OF RELATIVE POSITION, IN TERMS OF DEGREES,BETWEEN THE OUTER PLANET & THE SUN HAS CLARIFIED THE ISSUE. IT IS NOT THEIR RELATIVE SIGN POSITIONS FROM WHICH WE CAN FIND OUT WHETHER THE OUTER PLANET IS DIRECT OR RETROGRADE.

    With regards,

Please enlighten us the source (Indian treatise) from where you have culled this data.

None of these planets remain in exact stationary position for the days mentioned against them.

  17. Pluto Retrograde

    * keeps their chin up during crisis because .....

    * they want to keep inner upheavals private

    * they get what they want by acting like they don't care

Pluto is the planet of complete transformation, upheaval, reversals, and bew beginnings, and spends on average, five months out of the year in retrograde. is also a time of destruction and rebuilding when intense situations and outside forces intervene. Be willing to go to extremes and prepared to cut away the useless in those areas of life represented by the house your Pluto is in, releasing what no longer serves you in order to regenerate your life.

Pluto retrograde in your natal chart indicates that you are here to learn karmic lessons about intensity, control, and struggles for dominance. While you are wrestling with you own inner conflicts, outside forces are likely to upset your life. You are likely to find public opinion can be fickle, giving you little outward reason for blind trust in others. The people who make up your world may revere you one moment and revile you the next. Part of your lesson is to refuse to get locked in a battle of egos. Penetrate to the essence of the situation uncovering hidden truth. Trust your instincts being completely honest with yourself. Forgive yourself and others, but do not forget the lessons as you learn that you are the final authority. You may not always be able to control what you face nor what is done, but you are in sole control of how you choose to respond or react

  18. Neptune Retrograde

    * feels guilty inside and so ....
