  1. Oh thanks, this is great news for my cousins out there in the US.
  2. I eat root vegetables also but I have relatives who look funny at me when I do so I was just wondering why.
  3. Are you allowed to eat root vegetables..?. I know about onions being not allowed but what about patatoes, carrots and other stuff....? And has anyone seen this site : http://www.vegetariansareevil.com/
  4. I didn't mean you should become God, but I mean you should strive to lead by his example. I'm not doubting you or anything.
  5. Nope. It is false statement. See: http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/sperm.asp
  6. Because he was an Indian guru, yogi and a fakir. Famous phrase of his is "Allah Malik!"
  7. Thank you for the Arti...one I can actually remember of by heart as well.
  8. I fail to see why he has to prove anything to anyone. He came to share his beutiful experience, not to be told that what he thought happened didn't really happen. He knows what he experienced more than anyone.
  9. Worship your ideal role model of a Good person because that is what you want to strive to be like. For some it could be Sirdi Sai Baba, for others it could be Buddha. It’s pointless to worry about what others think of your God.
  10. Okay I know this is a weird question but my aunt seems to think its kanku and darshan from Goddess.
  11. I am wondering if milk registers as meat considering how cows are treated in the industry.
  12. When in confusion, I recomend that you have a look at other translations: http://www.bhagavad-gita.org http://bhagavata.org/gita/contents.html
  13. Thanks ARJ Thanks. I just don't know where to find one but for now I'll have to do without.
  14. [...] Sorry please delete. I gave wrong info. [url="http://vedabase.net/sb/10/42/1/"]
  15. Was there a specific name and time given? I always wondered about this. I am asking out of curiosity because Mahaveer, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, had a simular mission to Buddha. Mahavir came a little before Buddha but they were both contempories. So I am asking because it could have been either one of those but Mahaveer isn't that well known. Neminath, the 22nd Jina was Krishna's cousin. Not sure if they lived during the same time though but he was mentioned in Rig Veda along with the first Tirthankara. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neminath
  16. Whichever one is uplifting for you spiritually, and it sounds as though Gaudiya Math is the one for you.
  17. Can anyone suggest one? I know the Maha Mantra, but I'd like ones which include an OM. These are two I am interested in but can they be used for ordinary japa or not?: Om Namo Bhagavate Vāsudevāya - I really like this one but can I do it everyday as a japa mantra? I'm not sure on how to use this. Om Kleem Krishnaya Namah - I heard Kleem shouldn't be used unless initiated by a Guru. Is this true? Om Sri Krishnaya Namah
  18. Not at all! I think you may have misunderstood. Some of the terms you used in your post were scientific and I am not familiar with science on the same level as you. Everyone experiences spirituality differently and there is nothing to say your experience is any less valid than anyone elses. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
  19. I did not meditate on them for material benefit but for mental peace. I cannot decide which mantra to settle on so I am wondering if I can chant both. Is this possible? I heard that one must settle on one mantra.
  20. You are lucky to have seen clear visions of him . For me it was my mind which kept getting diverted to him. So for now now I'll continue with both mantras. I'm not really sure where I'm going right now. It was so long ago that I cannot remember. But the thing you said about a new addition to the family, well it may have been the case. But I can't really remember exactly how old I was when I had the vision.
  21. Wow! I actually had no idea we were once Hindus by faith until recently . I have just been trying to find out my family history.
  22. Thanks suchandra, thats the one. Also my mums side had Chamunda mata aka Sachhiyay Mata.
