  1. That depends on the person. I do not think it is something that krishna makes us decrease or increase our speaking abilities, but krishna does say to Narada that he does not want to be in Vaikunta, nor does he want to be where people offer him yagnas and everything. All he wants to do is sit near his devotees who are talking about him. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

  3. We are brahmanas= We read scriptures and chant "Hare krishna Maha Mantra"

We are Kshatriyas= We have protected atleast one person in our life...let it be other people's children, or your own child...

We are Vaisyas= We protect cows by not eating meat and protesting against the slaughtering of animals.

We are Sudras= Because we do all the dirty work also... there are no maids to do our dirty work unless we are extremely rich. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

We are untouchables... because we are not touched by krishna's grace ?- /images/graemlins/frown.gif Yet.

So, I think we are above everything, because we are fans of krishna. /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/grin.gif

  5. People go out in search for spirituality and krishna and end up in a place like that.

But they don't use their judgement and their brain or buddhi... if only the society could have the discriminatory ability to distinguish between a materialistic scheme and the spiritual quest for enlightenment, then I think these false gurus would vanish just like a dream.

It is amazing really, how the very drive to fulfill the senses would take a person to such an extreme. That too, they have no shame or fear of using God's name to do it. /images/graemlins/mad.gif

  7. "and still they can not answer something so simple.Isn’t that weird?"

Actually, who cares what it is when you can cross it(may be thats why they still don't give any answers)

The best way to cross it is: chanting Maha mantra. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

  9. Mind is just like a river through which the thoughts flow.

So, we can compare mind to the river of thoughts. Mind is our friend when it is composed of the satvic thoughts and the mind is our enemy where it is composed of many tamasic thoughts.

I think thats a good explanation of it.

  11. Lets say you have a Genius who has all the qualifications of making people get attracted to krishna, but the only problem is that the individual is not a he but a she...then would that be fair to limit her into only the activities such as cooking, etc. when she could have done so much more?!

This is about raising the whole conscience of the society, it is not about respect.

Actually, no one here nor any where else deserves respect due to what bodies they are in. The respect one deserves should be based on how close he/she is to Krishna.

But please R prabhu, kindly answer this question : If you have a genius who can raise the conscience of the society to a whole new level but she happens to be a woman, would you still think it is fair to limit her to the steriotypical duties which the people think what Manu was explaining women should do? /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I ask this question due to the fact that with out the liberation of women, we wouldn't be typing on these computers today, because one of the major contributors to the early programming launguages of the 20th century is a woman named Grace Hopper.

  13. I think krishna forgives one who sins and then suffers the guilt, but I think if the guilt is not really "pure" guilt then you suffer karma.

But I don't think you should be afraid of your past bad karma, because they help you in seeing the real nature of this world, which is failure, pain and misery.

So, sins help us in search for the almighty... (maya is also a servant of Krishna)
