Vedic Cosmology – The Planets of the Material Universe

The cosmology and cosmography of the ancient Vedas is awe inspiring to say the least. The more “modern” of the Vedic texts are known to originate from approximately 3000 B.C., thus being the oldest scientific and religious doctrines known to man. The descriptions of our solar system and what modern astronomy has discovered of the visible universe corresponds with the ancient Vedic knowledge, proving that man has had advanced knowledge of astronomy for thousands of years before our modern civilization began. This article describes the Vedic version of planetary systems from the topmost, eternal planets down through the temporary planetary systems within innumerable universes of this material world.

The Nakshatras’ Relationship to the Sushumna Chakras

chakras-02

“…of the lunar mansions [the twenty-seven nakshatras] I am Abhijit.” – Krishna speaking in Srimad Bhagavatam, Canto 11, ch.16, v.27

I am an amateur astrologer who has been meditating for twenty-five years and studying Maha Yoga under the guidance of Sadguru Sri Vasudeva. I have been researching the nakshatras for a number of years and want to share an amazing discovery that to my knowledge is unknown, namely that the nakshatras relate to points of energy and consciousness along the sushumna subtle channel.

Introduction to Nakshatras

Jyotish

The nakshatras are the apparently fixed bodies in the Zodiac, where the planetary system moves with them placed in the background. Among the Rasi and the nakshatras, the former is overlorded by the Sun, whereas the latter is overlorded by Moon. This implies that the Rasi shows the environment we would be placed with at different times in our life and what we get out of it, on the other hand, the nakshatras govern the different state of mind we shall be having at various times. Even the actual events are important in our life, taking a person-centric view point; our reactions to them also matter equally. Hence the study of the nakshatras is well warranted.

Principles of Tithi Pravesh Chakra

Tithi

Tithi pravesh chakra is one of the cornerstones of Vedic astrology and was hidden in tradition of SJC until the knowledge was given out by Pt. Sanjay Rath. Vedic astrology widely uses the solar return chart or the surya varsha pravesh chakra to predict the event of a year and this is widely known as Varshaphala. However, from time immemorial the scholars and pundits of India used the Tithi based calendar to reckon time, since the time needs to be reckoned from both the luminaries, as they represent two different aspects of our self.

How Vedic Astrology Works

Jyotish

The knowledge of Vedic Astrology has come down to us from the Vedic slokas. These slokas have been deeply studied and realized by our Siddhas in ancient times. Hence, through them we learnt about the Universe, and the waves of energy that impact our lives. They suggested practical ways to diffuse negative energies of planets in our lives and how to seek blessings of good energies.

Don’t Blame Your Spouse

Spouse

Being an astrologer, most frequently, I come across shouting and quarreling couples. They are not happy in their married life. In almost every case, the person who is seeking astrological guidance; is the one who finds faults with the life-style, habits, attitude etc. of his/her spouse. Though the joint family system is on diminishing count, many times the in-laws are also instrumental in creating disharmony. In Indian scenario, when such persons approach astrologer, they have big bothering Question mark: “Why to Me?”, “Why is she/he so blunt?”, “Why this is with us? – Our horoscope were got matched”. There issues with youngsters e.g. they have been in relaitonship and now the other person is turning face.. whether they will ever be able to get married, whether they will have happy married life if they get married etc. To analyze such situations, we need to understand the causes that bind persons into relationship or a wedlock.

How To Make Correct Astrological Predictions?

“I have studied it, you have not!”, is the famous retort of Sir Isaac Newton when confronted by Edmond Halley, his student on the master’s belief in astrology. There are those who protest that astrology is not a science since it does not conform to the principle of falliability. Every hypothesis is true till it is proved otherwise. Yet, there are people who swear by astrology. They would consult the stars endlessly on each and every issue and would let themselves be driven by their astrologer guides.

In the Service of Vedic Astrology

Vedic astrology influences a very broad spectrum of life in Indian society. It endeavors to correlate the inner spirit of a person with the higher cosmic spirit. In this way, Vedic astrology happened to be a tool of exploring the state of evolution of the spirit. This is the reason that it is regarded as ‘an eye of the Vedas’. With the passage of time, Vedic astrology has been attuned to physical temporal objectives of life.

Naadi Dosha and Ayurveda

In Indian contemporary life, we have either forgotten some of the concepts or have lost their real and original meaning. ‘Nadi’ is one such concept. To understand its meaning we have to go to the historic era. The Vedic philosophy enjoys the glory for its magnanimous approach. The vedic concepts were built upon cosmic system and its interlude with the human individual system. The concept of ‘Yathaa Pinde Tathaa Brahmaande’ (whats in the cosmos is equally represented in every living body) influences the fundamental rules of Ayurveda, Astrology, Vastu, Spiritual and Religious practices. Ayurveda considers that the five prime elements namely – Fire, Earth, Air, Water and Ether make up a human body. These major elements when combined with each other, create three patterns – combination of Air & Ether makes one constituent called ‘Vaata’; Fire & Water makes ‘Pitta’ and Earth & Water makes Kapha. A healthy body should have balance of these three combinations. However, each body holds an imbalance in favour of one of the combinations. This imbalance is called Dosha. The resultant variants of this imbalances are known as Tri-Dosha. The excess of Vaata is called Vaata Dosha; excess of Kapha creates Kapha Dosha and excess of Pitta creates Pitta Dosha. Depending upon the basic Dosha of a human body, the Prakriti (constitution) of a person was marked as ‘Vaata Prakriti, Kapha Prakriti or Pitta Prakriti.
