Guest guest Report post Posted May 18, 2006 When writing Elizabeth in Hindi, you used Hindi equivalent of 'jh' sound for 'z'. It will be better to use Hindi equivalent of 'j' sound instead. Avinash

Guest guest Report post Posted May 26, 2006 Hello I was just wondering if it could be possible to get my name translated from english to hindi for a tattoo plz, my name is damien
Guest guest Report post Posted May 28, 2006 Hindi is a phonetic language. So how you write a word in Hindi depends on how you pronounce that word. How do your pronounce Damien? For example, how do you pronounce 'Da' (which comes at start of your name)? Is it pronouced as me in men? Or as fa in father? Or as ma in man? Or something else? How do you prnounce i in your name? Do you give stress on it? In other words, is it a long sound (as ee in see) or short sound (as i in pin)? How do you pronounce en? Is it like en in men or like un in sun? Guest guest Report post Posted June 2, 2006 This thread is outstanding. So much help offered. My question isn't about my own name, or anyone's for that matter. Rather, my question is whether Sanskrit either: 1) has a 'John Doe' type term for the anonymous; not necessarily featuring the morbid connotations of the English 'John Doe', but something along those lines, such as a term to describe the average person or 'Everyman'; or 2) if a similarly suitable name i.e. a "John Doe" or "John/Joe Everyman" can be created from Sanskrit. Ideally I'm seeking a transliteration. I am grateful for any help. RBonander@aol.com
Guest guest Report post Posted June 3, 2006 রাজা Thanks so much for this - sorry to be a pain, but would you have any other fonts in bengali? I was looking for a program with various bengali fonts, but they all seem so expensive. I need to blow it up a bit. If not, no problem. Thanks again Sarah

Guest guest Report post Posted June 6, 2006 sorry me again! The name DAMIEN The "Da" in the start of my name would be pronounced as (me in men), and i do give a bit of stress on the "i" (as ee in see) and the "en" would be pronounced like (en in men) if that makes any sense and can be translated i would be very thankful,

Guest guest Report post Posted June 6, 2006 Can somebody tell or show me how to write my name Michel and also the sentence; love is eternal
Guest guest Report post Posted June 7, 2006 How do you pronounce Michel? "Love is eternal" can be translated into Hindi as "Prem shaasvat hai". I understand that I have used Hindi language but Roman script. Later, I will post how to write the same in the script used by Hindi.
