I could just be assuming here, so if I am please tell me.

But seeing the words " pro-life " in this, it seems to me as if it were

more of a No Abortion protest than the stem-cell research itself

The majority, if not all (dunno), of embryos used are from abortions

as opposed to still-borns etc

Ok, I want to know the name of the embryo that was able to speak and

say it felt no pain!

Sorry! But uh, how do you know?

After all, not 3 months ago I thought it was ok to eat meat because

the animals weren't tortured.

Whether you believe in God er not, you shouldn't get to play him.

nikki :) just my two-cents

funny

when did afghanistan invade the US?? i don't recall seeing afghani crop dusters

dropping cluster bombs on DC

i don't remember hearing about buchastani's spreading uranium depeleted

munitions over the landscape of kansas...

wot i do know

the US started destabling the Afghani regime in 1978..so that the Soviets would

invade(they had to keep their semi-puppets going there), then the US pumped

money and weapons into the area...just to make the russians bleed

then, when the soviets withdrew...we walked away laughing...

Afghanistan spent a few more years in civil war before the Taliban came to

power..the taliban being one of the groups we supported...just like a certain

saudi named bin laden...

shall we talk about the Taliban coming to the US to talk about a possible

pipeline? shall we talk about poppies and opium?

blah

Hi Nikki

I didn't know that! The really funny thing about the American taxation

system is who benefits from it. The IRS is actually a private company, owned

by a small group of European families!! Quite a bit of American tax goes to

lining their pockets. I wonder how many Americans would be happy to pay tax

if they realised this!

> My words almost exactly! Nazi propaganda! Who gives anyone the right

Exactly. Of course, the UK doesn't have any similar foundation to go back

to. But one of the things that really makes me laugh is that most British

people still refer to the Norman conquest in 1066 as " them coming over and

conquering us " - like there's going to be anyone left in the country not

descended from the Normans!!! (Although, at least I could make this claim,

as my surname pre-dates the Norman conquest!!!)

Hi Nikki

> so can ya have another discussion, because I am unsure too

MK Ultra is the main US brain-washing programme. It's used primarily for

programming people as assassins etc - they get programmed with a trigger,

and then sent to live a perfectly normal life until the trigger is pulled.

There have been suggestions that David Koresh was a failed MK Ultra

programmee.

No, they are spare embryos deliberately created in the laboratory,

not ones that have been conceived naturally and aborted.

If an embro dosn't feel pain, then it probably wasn't design to at that stage in it's life,as it wouldn't in normal circumstance probably need to, in the safety of the womb, who knows'

I knew a elderly bloke a few years ago, who was born slightly disabled, he said it was due to his mother trying to abort him using a knitting needle.

She must of felt very guilty to have told him the truth.

Why would anyone want to prevent > that? Cells can't feel pain.> > CathyNo problem with stem cell research per se, I agree, it's great if ETHICALLY obtained stem cells can replace animals. There is no problem getting stem cells without controversy as it is possible to get adult stem cells, and stem cells can also be obtained from the cord blood from live births. This stem cell collection which is totally ethical is already being done in many hospitals. They were asking about it when I gave birth to Lucy and I was OK with it, but they had to check if the blood was suitable because of our rhesus incompatibility, and they never got back to me, so I don't know if they were able to use ours or not, but in most normal births they surely can if the mother gives permission.Stem cells are not people or animals and they can't feel pain, but if they are obtained from human embryos which are created and destroyed for research, this is a taking of human life and a form of vivisection. We are not sure when the unborn human starts to feel pain, but it is still a human being at the start of life.We all wore t-shirts with the words FORMER EMBRYO on them, to make the point that these were tiny human beings who were being killed here. Even if they were too undeveloped to feel pain, they were each still a person who was being deprived of their life. Aside from the pain issue, I believe that is still a loss as we are all valuable. We all started out as embryos including the thousands of people who died in the World Trade Centre attack, so there is really no huge difference between voicing concern against war and terrorism and doing the same against abortion and embryo experiments. One of the other pro-lifers I know is considering going vegan because of my influence :) I hope he follows through with that or at least goes veggie. If I can work on pro-lifers to become more consistent and also respect animal life, I think it's worth me getting involved for that reason too.LesleyTo send an email to -

Hi Simon

> Are you in princible for , or against abortion?

First off - everyone...be careful, and remember to keep polite. I've seen this discussion kill lists way too often, as it's very highly charged!!

I would have to say that I would be shocked if anyone was actually "for abortion". I would think a better way to put it would be to use the generally accepted phrases for the two sides: pro-life or pro-choice.

Hmmm...

I dunno the entire story, but I can tell you this

Russia may or may not have had US influence, but what they did in

Luthania did not have a US flag attached to it

my Grandfather, birth Grandmother, Ma, Aunt & Uncle fled fer their

lives there into Germany of all places

my Grandfather was part of the Luthanian government and was almost

killed numerous times - he was not proud of all the things he did and

many were done fer his family to survive, but their was a lot that

the Russians did to them

and I do not want to go into it, but I blame the Russians fer their

own moves on that one!

the grandma that came from Germany to the US with my grandfather is

not my birth gramma but the only I have known because the birth

gramma went nuts from the war and was committed in germany

we finally found her a year ago and it was 6 months too late as she

had just passed

and i won't even go into the stories of the Nazi's and my gramma!

but I can tell you this, no matter what the US did or did not do

the Russians were evil on their own terms

my family had to hide even here in the beginning

changed their names

all the brothers split up between countries to ensure survival of at

least one part of the famnilies

and who helped them over?

the US

who saved my grandfathers life because he was Luthanian military and

many other lives?

the US

part of my pride for this country comes from their helping my family -

er i would not be here ranting today

Twasn't me who mentioned the parents in the bible,

but I am against abortion

it's taking a life and I promote life

part of the reason I became a vegan

now........

i can understand the frame of mind of a person who was raped and/or

incest related not wanting to carry the child

but otherwise I think if you are old enough to play you are old

enough to pay so to speak

and it is a parents responsibility to teach their child about sex

there are lots of families who will adopt a baby

unfortunately there are alot of older children without homes

and yes i know, someone who are not fit to be a parent shouldn;t be

i agree with that

but i think abortion is murder

and here we have opened a whole new can of worms

and i didn;t do it!

Simon asked - so plz be nice :)

first book of the Bible.Funny , after that it's basically down hill

all the way through-out the Bible!

I've seen this discussion kill lists way too often, as it's very

highly charged!!

actually " for abortion " . I would think a better way to put it would

be to use the generally accepted phrases for the two sides: pro-life

or pro-choice.
