Dear Anita ji,IVF and cloning are two entirely different issues. While IVF is kind of facilitating a natural process for those who have a problem in conception, while cloning is producing a genetically identical being, which is somwthing against natural selction.

Dear Neelam ji, You must be talking of cloning. But thanks to advances in science, many childless couples have been blessed with children through invitro fertilisation, artificial insemination, fertility treatment etc. SO the entire effort has not exactly been a waste. But if our scientists were to dabble with creating life in a laboratory, that would be a failure certainly?

Yes Gopi ji, all attempts, taken up for whatever reasons have been huge failures. Despite 20 years of research and 13 years of commercialization, genetic

engineering has failed to significantly increase the crop yields. Now the GM crops were dumped on developing nations like India by luring the poor farmers. Cotton growing farmers and their mass suicides are a result of this deadly experiment.

Fruit is being genetically engineered to stay fresh longer.  But this is a counterfeit freshness. The vitamins and

minerals are gone long before but the fruit stays healthy as

a regular, processed food, and appears very ripe. For animals, genetic engineering has brought in even worst catastrophes. A genetically altered fish was produced, which was 40 per cent larger than its normal counter part. Imagine if an organism was

so strong and took so many natural resources out of the environment

that it killed off all its neighbors!  This fish competes for the same resources as normal

fish, and wins.  Because it is growing so rapidly, it needs a lot

of food.  It would probably eat the other fish out of a habitat.

This, coupled with its size, could lead to the destruction of the

ecosystem. Now scientists are scared that this organism will lead to the extinction of others.  We can find hundreds of examples like this which are a threat to existence. This is not to mention ethics!

May be Gopi ji, such technologies like Genetic

Engineering have brought earlier civilisations to end!

Who knows, Dinosaurs could have been genetically modified creatures who then

ate up the entire earth millions of years ago!

And then died themselves of starvation?

Wild thoughts...!:-)

Adsolutely RR Ji,

Atom Bomb did not originate from an

experiment or research to produce atom bomb. The attempt was to produce energy

from atoms. However, at some stage the experiments were subverted for ulterior

motives and it resulted in the Bomb.

Similarly the fear is GE, closing etc will

result in something that might end our species. The fear is not unfounded. But

then we have history to learn from and global efforts should be to divert it to

the right direction rather than arresting it which might be really useful for

the human race in future.

Regards

Santhosh

Re: Venus and Jupiter

Dear All,

Please take this posting of mine lightly :-)

But sochiyay jara, it took mother nature some 100000 years of experimental

manipulation and what some may call (Neti Neti multifactorial experimentation!)

and still She could not produce a perfect human being. What is 20 or 200 (or

whenever Mendel started playing around with peas!) years! It is my belief that

genetic engineering (treatment of diseases and negative traits! [i do not mean

producing an entire clone! One step at a time!!] will become growingly

acceptable and I only hope the Biotechnology Industry does not jump in too

readily smacking their greedy lips and their hand counting the change in their

pocket books in their back-pockets!

Dear Bhaskar ji;

There are 2 interesting observations in lalkitab;

1. Native with Venus in 5th house should not marry against wishes of his

parents; if he does so; his will get great troubles from his own children

2. Native with malefic Saturn in house no. 11, if suffering from illhealth

should abstain from sex, otherwise the problem of illhealth/disease will

continue further for next 3 years.

This implies for both Natal horoscope and Varshphal chart according to lalkitab.

3. Indulgence in sex during day time invites problems.

4. Relations outside wedlock lead to conflict between the native and his

Dear Kulbir ji,

okay. There may be many more such interesting observations in the LalKitab, but

one needs someone to guide the logic behind all these observations. I do not

look for logic. I look for Logic. Its both ways. At times if Logic is available

then fine, at times if not, then Faith is what is matters, and I do have full

faith in the Lalkitab.

Indulgence in sex during daytime is of course otherwise too, a stupidity and

waste of day time which many do not realise, when actually they should have been

working. Even during a holiday period, this is not advisable. Neither in

Amavasya, Poornima or chaturthi. neither at grahana times etc.

Relations outside wedlock is going to create problems anywhich way, if the

person gets caught. If not, then still its going to be accounted for. But the

pleasure here, for those who have such oppurtunities is much more, for them to

override the problems which may arise in future.

regards,

Bhaskar.

Yes, I believe cloning is not a wise thing to attempt. The thing is, when they clone, the stem cells which they take from the parent for cloning, is as old as the parent. SO the offspring which is derived from cloning is not a day old biologically and physiologically but as old as the parent from whom the original cell was taken. Eg: If Amitabh Bachan were to be cloned tomorrow and there is new amitabh bachan, the new bachan will not be a baby biologically and physiologically but will be 65. The clones biological , physiological processes will function as if it was 65 years old and not a new born. That is the difference between IVF and cloning.Love,Anita--- On Wed, 16/12/09, neelam gupta <neelamgupta07 wrote:neelam gupta <neelamgupta07Re: Re: Venus and Jupiter Date: Wednesday, 16 December, 2009, 4:01 AM

Dear Friends,There are nice discussions on number of important issues in these mails. I will like to express my views to my best of ability :I. The nativity of Ahmedabad Jatak She was lucky to have Rahu dasa.In D-7 chart , Jupiter, Venus , and nodes are in debility. On account of Jupiter influence on rahu and 5th lord Vargottama Saturn in D-7 chart is with MARS (A MALE PLANET), she was blessed with one Son.All indications in the nativity do not favor a child in major period of Jupiter.2. Karka Bhava Nasho - This dictum has limited validity. When ever a planet is placed in a bhava as Karka , it has some adverse effects , but same planet do have to play other roles also. If Jupiter is in 5H ,Anita ji do not have Son ,but obviously it has some adverse effect for male progeny , because in Kalpurusha Kundli , 5H is owned by Sun - a sign of Agni Tatwa.Chapter 7 sloka 10 of Bhavartha Ratnakar says:Jupiter in 5H reduces the longevity of the Son.Venus in 7H makes the wife short lived"But Dr. Raman appended following comments:'Jupiter in 5H makes the eldest son long lived and Venus in 7H MAKES THE WIFE BEAUTIFUL, FAIR AND PASSIONATE. If these planets are under the influence of malefic , then these create bad effects. This rule may be safely applied to other Bhava karka(s). This is a dosa which gets amplifiedif afflicted and then gives visible bad effects.Jupiter Bhava nasao- This dictum is applicable when Jupiter and Saturn are in exchange (or for that matter with any malefic ) , Jupiter will not be able to promote the bhava , but Saturn will enhance the results of bhava where it is placed , on account of Jupiter's inluence. With regrds, G. K. Goel

Dear Anita ji,//May be guru in 5th restricts the number of children//There's Rahu also in 5H in the example you gave. Any other aspects? What about the Fifth Lord? The dasha in operation. More daughters would be born in the dasha of a female planet, is what the classics maintain! Also the saptamsha would have a lot to contribute. One can only say something with full details in hand. Quite a bit of moderation needed before fixing!RegardsNeelam

Dear Neelam ji,It is not my observation but I was told so by our family astrologer, In fact, a doctor I know has guru and Rahu in 5th in Dhanu and she has 1 son. He is her only child and she is desperately trying for a second child since the boy is almost 9 years old but without success. May be guru in 5th restricts the number of children. May be the reason for this belief to arise is that in the days when astrology developed as a science children especially sons were treated as a mans greatest asset and "hum do hamare do" was considered a deficiency and therefore guru in 5th was considered an undesirable situation to have in a persons horoscope. I have guru in 5th and I have only 1 daughter but she is a remarkable child and I consider her as Gods greatest gift to me. I am very proud of her. So much for karako bhava nashaya.Regards to

Dear Anita ji,//guru in fifth causes daughters to be born in most of the cases.//Is it just a hearsay or your observation? Some astrologers have been propagating baseless myths like Karako Bhav Nashaye and Bhava Hani Karo Jeeva, etc. Several researches done at BVB have proved their fallacy beyond any doubt.RegardsNeelam

First born begetting will be problemetic. The person/native will be under Jupiterian influence first. Child next.

Dear Deepenji,Just a thought. If Ju as the 12th lord signifying all that you said lord and as 9th lord of the natural zodiac signifying guru, dharma etcc, is situated in 5th house, another dharma house signifying children, would it make the person religious / spiritual or will it make the first born religious / spiritual? Some how, I think it will make both the the parent and the child religious and spiritual. What do you say?Regards, Anita--- On Sun, 13/12/09, deepen thakkar <justcoolout@ > wrote:

manoj jipisces is the place where the Rishis reside ,its the place of ultimate knowledge ,calm and serene , jupiter doesnt like it as compared to dhanus rashi bcoz he likes to do the day to day religious work ,looking after the temple, giving offerings ,pujas ,anushthans and yagyas ,also the administration work which makes jupiter more happy than the ownership of pisces that is moksha sthana ....the combo you are referring with aries ascendant and 12th house venus is in Abhishek Bacchans chart ...--- On Sun, 13/12/09, Manoj Chandran <chandran_manoj@ > wrote:

Dear Deep Ji, Vidya Ji,

Very nice thoughts from Deep Ji, but, unfortunately Pisces is not a totally Pious sign of Jupiter. Infact it is the "negative" sign of Jupiter and THAT is one of the primary reasons Venus is exalted there. I have seen many charts with Aries rising, Venus in Pisces with Low SAV/BAV have deviant sexual behaviour (ofcourse with other afflictions) .

Dear Vidya ji,In first case , when Venus is in exaltation in Lagna isLord of *th house. In second case , Venus is the lord of the 6th house placed in 11H.Whenever Trick (6,8 and 12 ) houses , it creates problems. This is the reason that exalted Jupiter in angular houses giveproblems also. There is a rule ,if trick lords are in exaltation in Sign or Namvamsa chats they do harm in some respects , if they are in debility , give good yogas also.Regards,G. Dear Manoj Ji,

You maybe right about the affliction part as I personally came to know 2 people with exalted Venus.

First person has Venus exalted in Lagna with moon's aspect from 7th house and has no affliction to Venus. He is 32 years of age and actually a very pious, dharmic man but he is still struggling to find a wife with "good character". Must be a hard thing in this day and age.

The 2nd person has exalted Venus in 11th house but with rahu's malefic aspects from 4th house. He is married but very unhappy in marriage..He's had several other failed relationship in life before and after marriage.

Vidya

Infact it is the "negative" sign of Jupiter and THAT is one of the primary reasons Venus is exalted there. I have seen many charts with Aries rising, Venus in Pisces with Low SAV/BAV have deviant sexual behaviour (ofcourse with other afflictions).

Dear Santhosh ji ,Moon is cosmic and Venus is materialistic energy. Both of them are of famine nature but body of male.In case of female , Venus is Karka of Sex , Jupiter is legally wedded husband , and Mars is sex partner(including husband). The karka of dara pada ( sex and business partner) is Venus and Upapada ( pada of 12th house - husband)is Jupiter.Karka of 7H is Venus.regardsG. Dear neelamji,We know brihaspathi and sukracharya were gurus of opposing camps. But is there any stories of enemity between the 2? I dont think so. I think sukracharya was assigned the duty of being guru to asuras (dont know by whom!!!) Further my understanding is venus represents husband in a wifes chart and wife in a husbands chart. According to some in addition to venus, ju and mars are also given karaka for husband. We cannot explain everything in terms of legends i think. Because, for example venus is a female planet but sukracharya was not female.Similarly, moon is a female planet but moon is said to have 27 wives the nakshatras. How will we reconcile all this?RegardsSanthoshSent from BlackBerry® on Airtel neelam gupta <neelamgupta07 >

Samdhees? That's interesting! They're said to be Samdharmees (as per Laghu Parashari). Being both great benefics do they club together for a cause? In any case, we cannot say they're both inimical to each other. No planet is inimical to GURU.

Dear B. Bhai

They are 'samdhees!' :-)

It was never about Shukra or Brihaspati, but their children who were sent over to meet and got married! Of course I could be entirely wrong! What do I know? ;-)

Yes there is a story, and quite an interesting one, involving Guru and Shukra. Its in "Shiv Mahapuran". Once there was a great war between Asur and Devata. Asurs had an advantage over Devatas as Shukracharya would revive the dead asurs by his yogvidhya whereas Brihaspati could not do it. Finally Brihaspati sent his Son (forgot his name) to learn this vidhya from shukracharya. Inspite of knowing from where the boy has come and what is the intent behind his learning, shukracharya taught this to the boy. The story goes further that asurs kill the boy and shukracharya revives him and so on. One must read Shiv mahapuran to know more and precise.
