Nothing is inside or outside anything else. Yes, it's a nice figure of speech. Something only has an inside when it's been designated with an outside. And something can only be designated with an outside, if there is someone outside of it to give it that designation. This isn't just an intellectual thing because so much of human emotion is involved with protecting the inside against what is coming from outside. So much fear, anger, resentment, etc., is involved with this, countless wars and manipulations, all kinds of relationship dramas and struggles.
