This whole thing is structured around self-protection. We would not recognize this world if it was populated by egoless beings. I think that is not possible - probably not. But there is another aspect of the world that seems independent of the fact of existence or not of the ego. Our human bodies, once they exist, they must live in a human world. I would go even further and say that our human consciousness - or other name to it - in an egoless world, would have to fit those fundamental " supra-human " needs. Would those supra-humans call their world as illusion? Perhaps they would walk through the gardens of the world perfectly aware of their illusional nature, nonethless....carefully not to harm its perfect beauty(??) -geo- ..... of course, it's up to this your imaginary entity (ego) to enjoy the imaginary world....or not. there is nobody else beside this your ego who could enjoy it. Why is that ? I think it is because you are unable to give up your old ideas about it. Again: Such a thing as consciousness does not exist. There is no part in the brain where consciousness is sitting. But: There is a network of neuron cells which constiute memory. When a memory cell is active and firing then this firing is experienced as consciousness. When it is inactive and not firing then it is just memory. Do you understand ? Consciousness is memory. There is no " growing " consciousnes, there is no transcending consciousness time and space. Thats all romantic rubbish. There is just memory, more or less active.
