In the attempt to understand itself, mind combines and recombines mnemonic

self-

referential thoughts in to new configurations.

When It finds the new patterns unfomfortable......it has a tendency to attack

what it

considers the source of its dis-ease.

When that appears to fail....it will either berate the assumed messenger or in

a last ditch

effort to dissipate the anxiety caused by the confusion........it will resort

to humor.

What do you suppose Krishnamurti or Nigargadatta would have said to a smart ass

in the

back row who continually berated them or scoffed at what they had to offer?

Yes, clarity certainly does seem to be an 'issue' for you.

Projections are pretty fun things. :)

Werner's a sneaky little devil, isn't he. I like him. And I also

like his tactics. It's good to have someone around who knows how to

push the right buttons. Werner is the smartest guy on this list, in

my opinion. Without his input, we might never get to see certain

sides of individuals.

How's that for stroking someone's ego? Now let's wait for his

reaction. I'll bet he has no idea I'm setting him up. Boy, I'm

clever! He'll walk right into my little trap and then, WHAMMO!

We'll all get to watch him try to squirm his way out of it and

possibly make a fool of himself while he's at it. Wonderful

entertainment!

;)

I don't think any of us would have behaved like smart asses in their

presence because what they had to offer was very profound and

merited our complete attention and respect.

Huge difference between them and you, Toomb. I think you think way

too highly of your little comments. You're not that profound that

you should be treated with reverential respect as if you were

someone like Nisargadatta. You really don't have that much to

offer. Thus, it's very easy to scoff at yur remarks. Take it like

a man, buddy. Same goes for all the stuffed shirts in here. Loosen

up a bit, people. Nothing wrong with humour. It's the best

medicine, remember? Some of you think you're gonna' say something

so profound and utterly wise that you'll create a following for

yourself or something. ROFLMAO at you!!!!!!

The 'ego' is the struggling.

There is no 'It' to see itself.

Oh........you still believe that those little brown men were the source of all

that wisdom.

........That they were somehow special.....more elevated then the rest of us

little meat

monkeys.

As long as you believe that...........you are lost.

Lol. I appreciate your sense of humour. " Meat monkeys. " Hehe. I

don't believe " those little brown men " [LOL] were sources of

wisdom.

Listen. You know what I like to do sometimes? I like to drive out

to a completely unfamiliar city and deliberately try to get myself

lost. It's a blast. Try it sometime.

Wonderful

entertainment!

;)

Hehe. Yes, let's hide and watch. If he only knew! ::::: Rubbing hands

The 'ego' is the struggling.

There is no 'It' to see itself.

toombaru

And yet it can be seen, which apparently makes the concept faulty. The

reason this is so is, that which is seeing seems to be other than that which is

seen. That the seer and the seen are the same does not prevent seeing from

occurring. This is a marvelous event called experience. Mind can use it's

wonderful abilities to deny it's own creations, but the value of such denial in

the

search for Truth is questionable and debatable by that same mind.

Can you see where this is going?

No concept can be seen.

This is the 'split mind' out of which the dream emerges.

There is no seer.

There is no seen.

There is seeing.

This is a marvelous event called experience. Mind can use it's

'Mind' is merely another post-it......It is a flowingness that can see every

thing....but itself.

Admittedly, getting lost on purpose doesn't appeal to everyone.

Some people prefer to stay on familiar ground all the time. Others

have no choice but to stay put due to physical limitations and

challenges. No prob.

And some of us believe purposely getting lost is akin to jumping out of a

perfectly good airplane........And loquacious on top of it all! Hehe.

Yes, Silver,

It's a good thing to experiment with trying to get lost in a

completely unfamiliar city. It shows that you love living.

An addon: Next time you do it, before you start concentrate on a

question you want to have answered and which is of importance for you

and then start walking. It doesn't matter if you forget the question

after a while.

My son went to Europe after college.

He was traveling with a young woman that he had met at a youth hostel.

Late one evening after several misguided attempts to return to their

hotel.......My son sat

down on the curb.....put his head in his hands and said in desperation:

" We are lost! "

The young lady sat down next to him.......put her hand in his.......and

whispered:

" No we're not lost.......we are in Copenhagen " .
