krsna
When Ravana came to kidnap mother Sita and she saw him, she took shelter of Agni. The fire-god covered the body of mother Sita, and in this way she was protected from the hands of Ravana. The fire-god, Agni, took away the real Sita and brought her to the place of Parvati, goddess Durga. An illusory form of mother Sita was then delivered to Ravana, and in this way Ravana was cheated when he kidnapped the false Sita. The original Sita went to the abode of the fire-god. When Lord Ramacandra tested the body of Sita, it was the false, illusory Sita that entered the fire. At that time Agni brought the original Sita from his abode and delivered her to Lord Ramacandra. -CC. Madhya: 204, 205,

hindustani
ARJ This episode is not in Tulsi Ramayana known as Shri Ramcharitmanas. The Agni-Pariksha of Mother Sita is an interpolation by casteists & sexists Vaishnavas like Tulsidas.
ARJ
To ARZ,Even Valmiki has written about agni pariksha. This incident is mentioned in Uttar Kaand, which was never written by Maharishi Valmiki f.y.k.i. besides Vaishnavites like Tulsidas also don't forget that Hindu scriptures were subject to heavy interpolation during Mughal & British raj for obvious reasons. ranjeetmore
ARJ,your a complete rascal. Please do not speculate on such matters. Stick to your areas of expertise viz brahm and maya.Don't utter any words besides these....they just show your 3rd class state of mind. tulsidas is not to be scorned. address to the thread starter: Ramanandi acharyas have confirmed that Valmiki incarnated as tulsidas. Besides Lord Gauranga confirms that Sita travels to Her friend,Parvati's place by way of fire.Further Gauranga consoled the Rama bhakta,"Sita has a spiritual body.Ravana's eyes couldn't even see Her orignal form of Opulence and All Maintaining power, let alone kidnap Her."
