World War III .....

Is it possible anytime in the future?????

Should we be prepared?????

Will Nostradamus' predictions come true?????

Nobody knows and it seems a lot of times things have a way of working out. I have watched some stuff about the Mayan calendar on the History Channel and they seem to think the Earth is undergoing a major transformation in coming years and humans will be battling each other for resources like oil etc.

Look at the state the world is in and you'll realise we are probably living in its onset. And yes, brace yourself and be prepared because we're almost heading for complete disaster by the looks of it . And I am scared religion is probably whats going to be the reason for it.

When did it occur to you that the end is near?

WWI? WWII? The Tsunami in 2006?

The end of the world is viewable on the Media News every day.

"There is danger at every step in the material world" --so we must become Krishna Conscious as soon as possible, before we loss the oppurtunity that our human form of life has afforded us.

Every death is extreme and for the soul it is many times an 'embarassment' --a type of death that is telling of ones lack of regard for the precarious and preciousness that is walking on a razor's edge of existance.

Krishna is exhibiting the grand cosmos and we are lost until we can constantly remember Krishna as the resorvior of all personal experiences--lest we are eligible only for seeing the ghastly manifestaions

This past Saturday March 15, 2008 a construction crane fell atop a four story residence and reduced it to a pile of rubble--there was a visiting woman from Florida asleep in onme of the apartments, she died.

There was a cleaning man in the ground floor Pub who was found alive with only a broken leg. The Name of the Bar was "FUBAR" [this name is an old Army acronym: "F**ked Up Beyond All Repair" or, "F**Ked Up Beyond Any Recognition"].

This mortal Irony is what you must guard against.

Now, while in the human form of life, let us inquire unto the absolute truth which is indeed the very transcendental personage Krishna.

"Before enlightenment chop wood and carry water --after enlightenment chop wood and carry water." --so the best we can self-protect ourself and soul is to perform our own alloted duty at all times.

It seems that we are at the mercy of fate and the incompetence of others who must preform their duties resposiblely or others will not be protected.

Nobody knows and it seems a lot of times things have a way of working out. I have watched some stuff about the Mayan calendar on the History Channel and they seem to think the Earth is undergoing a major transformation in coming years and humans will be battling each other for resources like oil etc.

animal slaughter = war, pestilence, famine and calamities.

SB 1.4.10

. . . To kill cows means to end human civilization.

……………………………………………………………………………….

Bg 14.16 Purport

. . . Slaughtering poor animals is also due to the mode of ignorance. The animal killers do not know that in the future the animal will have a body suitable to kill them. That is the law of nature. In human society, if one kills a man he has to be hanged. That is the law of the state.

. . . One has to pay for it. So indulgence in animal killing for the taste of the tongue is the grossest kind of ignorance. A human being has no need to kill animals, because God has supplied so many nice things. If one indulges in meat-eating anyway, it is to be understood that he is acting in ignorance and is making his future very dark.

. . . Cow slaughter is an act of the grossest type of ignorance. In the Vedic literature (Åg Veda 9.4.64) the words gobhiù préëita-matsaram indicate that one who, being fully satisfied by milk, is desirous of killing the cow is in the grossest ignorance. There is also a prayer in the Vedic literature that states:

. . . “My Lord, You are the well-wisher of the cows and the brähmaëas, and You are the well-wisher of the entire human society and world.” (Viñëu Puräëa 1.19.65)

The purport is that . . . the brähmaëas and the cows, must be given all protection—that is real advancement of civilization.

………………………………………………………………………

JSD 7

Çréla Prabhupäda: . . . A God conscious brähmaëa would never advise opening slaughterhouses. But now, the many rascals heading the government allow animal slaughter.

. . . Nowadays, unqualified men have taken the presidential post. And although they may pose themselves as very religious, they are simply rascals.

Why? Because under their noses thousands of cows are being killed, while they collect a good salary. Any leader who is at all religious should resign his post in protest if cow slaughter goes on under his rule.

Since people do not know that these administrators are rascals, they are suffering. And the people are also rascals because they are voting for these bigger rascals.

……………………………………………………………………………

TQE 7:

. . . Meat- or fish- or egg-eating—any nonvegetarian diet—is simply an attachment of the tongue. Nobody dies from not eating meat. That’s a fact.

When we were babies we depended on milk, either our mother’s breast-milk or cow’s milk. Therefore the cow is also our mother. Just as we drink breast-milk from our mother, we drink milk from mother cow. You must not kill your mother; that is a great sin.

Therefore meat-eating is prohibited. But people have become so sinful that they do not consider, “When I was young this cow supplied her blood in the form of milk to feed me, to keep me alive. But now that I am grown up, I am so ungrateful that I am going to kill her and eat her flesh.” This is the advancement of modern education: that people have learned how to kill their mother.

…………………………………………………………………………

MG 3:

. . . One may kill an animal to enjoy eating it, but he will be bound by such an action. Thus in one’s next life he will become a cow or a goat, and the cow or goat will become a man and eat him. This is the Vedic statement, and as with all Vedic statements, one may believe it or not.

Unfortunately, at present people are educated in such a way that they do not believe in the next life. Indeed, it seems that the more “educated” one becomes, the less he believes in God, in God’s law, in the next life and in sinful and pious activities. Thus modern education is simply preparing men to become animals.

………………………………………………………………………….

MG 4:

. . . the second question put by Parékñit Mahäräja to Çukadeva Gosvämé is very important: How can one ultimately become free from all contamination brought about by the material modes of nature? If one cannot achieve liberation, what is the use of atonement?

In answer, Çukadeva Gosvämé said that merely counteracting karma, fruitive activities, by other activities cannot bring one’s miseries to a final end. For example, the United Nations is attempting to establish peace in the world, but they cannot stop war. War breaks out again and again.

. . . Çukadeva Gosvämé said that one kind of war causes a disturbance, and another kind of war stops it for some time, but that is not the ultimate solution to the problem. Çukadeva states that these troubles happen due to ignorance: avidvad-adhikäritvät. Avidvat means “lack of knowledge.”

. . . Real atonement is performed in knowledge. Why is there fighting and why are there miseries?

. . . These questions must arise: “Why am I suffering? Wherefrom have I come? What is my constitutional position? Where shall I go after death? Why am I put into a miserable form of life? Why are there birth, death, old age and disease?”

How can these questions be solved? Çukadeva Gosvämé says: [sB 6.1.12]. If one wants to actually stop diseased life, he must follow a regulative principle. If a person does not follow the program given by a physician to cure his disease, he cannot be cured.

. . . Similarly, if one does not think or act wisely, as Vedic knowledge prescribes, how can he stop the problems of life? Simply by atonement there may be a temporary suppression of difficulties, but they will arise again.

Çukadeva Gosvämé says that in material or sinful life we act in a way in which we are forced to commit sins and suffer as a result. This is so, and if we want to stop this cycle of suffering and victimization, we have to advance in knowledge.

Ordinary people, or karmés, are fruitive actors who work all day and night to get some enjoyable results and then again suffer. Thus the problems of such karmés are never solved. It is suggested therefore that one elevate himself to the platform of knowledge as prescribed in Çrémad-Bhägavatam.

The first necessity is tapasya, or acceptance of austerity. If a doctor advises a diabetic patient not to eat but to starve for some days, although no one likes to starve, the patient must voluntarily accept starvation if he wants to be cured.

This is tapasya: voluntary acceptance of a miserable condition. The ability to do this is good, and human life is meant for that purpose. Indeed, Vedic culture prescribes tapasya . . .

………………………………………………………………………………

SB 1.7.37 Purport:

According to Manu, the great author of civic codes and religious principles, even the killer of an animal is to be considered a murderer because animal food is never meant for the civilized man, whose prime duty is to prepare himself for going back to Godhead.

He says that in the act of killing an animal, there is a regular conspiracy by the party of sinners, and all of them are liable to be punished as murderers exactly like a party of conspirators who kill a human being combinedly.

He who gives permission, he who kills the animal, he who sells the slaughtered animal, he who cooks the animal, he who administers distribution of the foodstuff, and at last he who eats such cooked animal food are all murderers, and all of them are liable to be punished by the laws of nature.

No one can create a living being despite all advancement of material science, and therefore no one has the right to kill a living being by one’s independent whims. . . . eating meats supplied by organized slaughterhouses . . . are ghastly places for breeding all kinds of material afflictions to society, country and the people in general).

The material world is itself a place always full of anxieties, and by encouraging animal slaughter the whole atmosphere becomes polluted more and more by war, pestilence, famine and many other unwanted calamities.

………………………………………………………………………………

SB 1.10.2 Purport . . . This world is compared to a forest fire caused by the cohesion of bamboo bushes. Such a forest fire takes place automatically, for bamboo cohesion occurs without external cause.

Similarly, in the material world the wrath of those who want to lord it over material nature interacts, and the fire of war takes place, exhausting the unwanted population.

Such fires or wars take place, and the Lord has nothing to do with them. But because He wants to maintain the creation, He desires the mass of people to follow the right path of self-realization, which enables the living beings to enter into the ffice:smarttags" />laceType w:st="on">kingdom of God.

The Lord wants the suffering human beings to come back home, back to Him, and cease to suffer the threefold material pangs.

The whole plan of creation is made in that way, and one who does not come to his senses suffers in the material world by pangs inflicted by the illusory energy of the Lord.

………………………………………………………………………………

SB 1.10.4 Purport . . . The basic principle of economic development is centered on land and cows. The necessities of human society are food grains, fruits, milk, minerals, clothing, wood, etc. One requires all these items to fulfill the material needs of the body. Certainly one does not require flesh and fish or iron tools and machinery.

During the regime of Mahäräja Yudhiñöhira, all over the world there were regulated rainfalls. Rainfalls are not in the control of the human being. The heavenly King Indradeva is the controller of rains, and he is the servant of the Lord.

When the Lord is obeyed by the king and the people under the king’s administration, there are regulated rains from the horizon, and these rains are the causes of all varieties of production on the land.

………………………………………………………………………………

SB 1.10.4 Purport: To be nonviolent to human beings and to be a killer or enemy of the poor animals is Satan’s philosophy. In this age there is enmity toward poor animals, and therefore the poor creatures are always anxious.

The reaction of the poor animals is being forced on human society, and therefore there is always the strain of cold or hot war between men, individually, collectively or nationally. . . .

………………………………………………………………………………

SB 1.12.26 Purport:

. . . Mahäräja Parékñit wanted to kill the personified Kali, who was attempting to kill a cow, the emblem of peace and religion. The symptoms of Kali are (1) wine, (2) women, (3) gambling and (4) slaughterhouses.

Wise rulers of all states should take lessons from Mahäräja Parékñit in how to maintain peace and morality by subduing the upstarts and quarrelsome people who indulge in wine, illicit connection with women, gambling and meat-eating supplied by regularly maintained slaughterhouses.

In this age of Kali, regular license is issued for maintaining all of these different departments of quarrel. So how can they expect peace and morality in the state?

………………………………………………………………………………

SB 1.16.4 Purport:

. . . Human civilization means to advance the cause of brahminical culture, and to maintain it, cow protection is essential. There is a miracle in milk, for it contains all the necessary vitamins to sustain human physiological conditions for higher achievements.

Brahminical culture can advance only when man is educated to develop the quality of goodness, and for this there is a prime necessity of food prepared with milk, fruits and grains.
