"Wilson" means "Son of William". "William" comes from the Germanic "Wilhelm". "Wil" meaning 'desire, will', and "Helm" meaning 'protection, helmet'.

 

In Sanskrit, "will, desire" would be "Ichcha". "Helmet" might be "Kirita". "Son" would be the suffix "-ya".

I appreciate your knowledge & zest for accurate translation

but wilson is a noun. Let language be any the name remains the same.

It is not translated, only transliterated i.e. written phonetically in the other script.
