  1. Hi.. I was searching for the namavali of Narasimha swamy and thanks for posting that. Regards Shyam
  2. I hope you know the ten avathars of Lord. Meena, Mathsya, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parasurama, Rama, Balarama, Krishna, and Kalki. So the name Krishna referring to Lord came into being according to puranas is in use only later. Its nice that you people are posting nice information and spread Shree Krishna's philosophies, but please dont change the puranas and the hierarchy of the appearance of the Lord.Regards Shyam

  4. Although both Krishna and Narayana are one and the same, in Narasimha avathar, prahaladha prays to the Lord as Narayana and not as Krishna. The Lord is being called as Krishna only from Krishna Avathar and not before that. Shyam

  6. It is nonsense to think that cats are evil. A learned person especially someone who reads GITA will not think any animal as evil. It is unfortunately portrayed by people as evil. Poor cats, they are just another jeevan created by Shree Krishna. If alone they can talk human language they will portray the group of humans as evil who call them evil. I would suggest people to skip these nonsense ideas and thoughts on any creatures. Try to look at anything with love and compassion if at all anyone is trying for any spiritual upliftment. With humble regards Shyam
  7. From my understandings of Bagwatgita, Atma refers to Paramathma and jeevathma. Jeevathma is that part of Paramatma which descends down as differnt souls to come into this universe. Paramatma is Bagwan or the most Supreme which we call as Shree Krishna. This paramatma once realised by jeevathma that jeevathma is part of it, we start worshiping the Paramathma. Paramathma is the most loving any jeevan can think off. Whether the jeevathma realises it or not depending on our actions called karma we reap the benefits. that portion of jeevathma which descends to this materialistic world goes back to HIM after attaining the realisation when it takes birth as soul in the human form. IN human form every soul is given the oportunity to realise the Paramathma since we are given the exclusive sixth sense to think and analyze anything. In my understanding and strong opinion after analyzing GITA very much and not just blindly accepting what the author has interpreted I feel the following as law of karma for jeevathma to go back to Paramathma. A human soul is given all best opportunity in its first birth as human. If the soul in human form does all kinds of atrocities by spoiling other's life, hurt others and kill other jeevathmas for its personal benefits, then the soul is made to pay back in some form for its hurtful actions. If the soul does not realise it until death or if it realise the faults at the end in death bed, then the same soul takes only a human form only, to pay back for all the evil actions it performed so that it clear off the debts and know the sufferings what it incurred on other jeevathma. This is the reason I strongly feel why many good people suffer for nothing. Probably they would have been a hurting force and realised their faults at their end of lives. Krishna/GOD does not accept a soul in its impure form just because it realised at the last minute and started chanting krishna krishna in death bed. The soul takes another human birth and remain good as it alreadly realised the good, but yet pay for all the actions and get purified and go back to paramathma. This is how the law of karma operates. the time the soul takes to pay for its actions depends on how early it realises that by creating hurtful actions its going to suffer for all actions. If you hurt an innocent, you will be hurt by someone later or by the same person. So its better to apologise to the same person whom you hurt so that you dont get hurt later with a much bigger magnitude. once can call the paramathma in any form you like, talk to HIM in any language you know and worship HIM in form you wish. He is beyond all these things created by the jeevathma's for our convenience and easy way to think of HIM. Regards Shyam
  8. In this Kali yuga, law of karma hit on eveyone irrespective of whether he/she is going to take next birth which we are not aware. I have personally seen the other individual paying for his hurtful actions against another individual especially if that affected person happens to be really innocent or kind and good. It just takes time for the reaction to take place and bounce back to the one who hurt other but it certainly takes place. We normally tend to look at broader level when it comes to questioning the sufferings of sholdiers in war, congenitally malformed children etc. I would like to put it this way the reason as to why they suffer for nothing. Well. we think they are innocent, but as an individual we are not aware what that individual sholdier or his family member did to anyone in their life out of which they suffer now. We never know what the individual father or mother of a congenitally malformed child did to anyone in their past for which they are paying through the sufferings by looking at their malformed child. Then why the child is suffering. Actually the malformed child with mental retardation or blindness is taken care off properly by the parents and by taking care of such a child the parent pay off for their mistakes. A retarded child does not recognise whether he/she is suffering from their mental point of view. All that they know is they have someone to take care of them. The suffering and agony are more for the parents byall means. Law of karma operates at every level. An innocent girl who does not commit any hurt to other, but sleeps with someone out of wedlock, then it is still her mistake out of which she pays for it through childhood pregnancy. An innocent guy who does not hurt others if takes drugs and goes to prostitues but never hurt others still has to face for it by contracting severe diseases. He or she need not wait until next birth for their actions. I have also personally seen the law of karma operating in one's life after decades, where a man whose daughter was ditched by her husband which was a big disaster to her father and that father fell sick bedridden for two years. That father did lot of atrocities and spoiled many girl's life during his youth for which he is paying now. The girl was accepted by her husband only after two years during which time that girl's father incurred heavy loss in several ways and underwent so much of emotional torture. He may have realised his mistake as he grew up, but still what he did in past, he paid for it. What is the fault of the girl and why she has to suffer. She in turn ridiculed many people during her teens and never had respect for anyone for which she paid for her actions after her marriage. So what we do by hurting someone irrespective of whether we realise at a later stage or not we still have to pay for it. In most of the instances we always see good people suffer and people who does hurtful and atrocious deeds enjoy their life. Probably the one who is good and paying for it must have realised his faults at the time of death or in the old age after doing so many atrocious things in his previous births (I use prebirth since Shree Krishna has stated it in GITA). But since he realised at the last minute of his life, his soul would have got purified and realised GOD, and yet GOD would accept the soul to HIM only after getting the soul paid for it. Its being wrongly interpreted that anyone who says chants GOD's name at the last minute will also be taken. Then in that case after murdering so many people for one's convenience, raping many girls for one's wish and spoiling many people's life if an individual says krishna krishna at the time of death, then where is the question of paying for his karma. Such are the souls who realise finally take birth as good people and suffer inspite of the fact they remain good to everyone. This is how in my strong opinion after understanding GITA, i feel Law of Karma operates. Thats the reason its better to realise GOD in the early stage so that we minimise our bad karma and pay for the past actions in this birth itself rather than taking rebirth. Krishna will not accept some soul to HIM just by saying Krishna Krishna at the last minute of death after performing so many atrocities. One has to pay for their actions at anytime and the time depends on how early we realise our mistakes and rectify ourselves to clean ourself. KRISHNA/GOD SEES THE TRUTH BUT WAITS. TRUTH ALWAYS WIN. SO ITS BETTER NOT TO HURT OTHERS BY ANY MEANS THINKING THAT I AM NOT GOING TO BE AWARE WHAT I AM GOING TO SUFFER IN NEXT BIRTH. Regards Shyam
  9. Well said and nicely written.. shyam
  10. In case if you have commented about Krishna out of your childishness without reading or understanding GITA, still you will be blessed by the Supreme power Shree Krishna because he resides in you also and He is the one who is making you to talk like this for you to realise HIM at some time point in your life. Regards Shyam

  12. As most of the earlier replies to already explain the principles of Sanathana Dharma which was later named as Hinduism, I am just giving you an idea how free and wonderful it is to practise. Yes you will find truth in Sanathana Dharma, because the Dharma does not force anybody for anything right from your beliefs in GOD itself. We never force anyone to convert like you christians converting people by exploiting their poverty. We are not asked to kill others if they dont have beliefs in Krishna/GOD Himself like how it is said in Qaran. One has to realise GOD by him/herself to get renounced. We dont have to register in any temples right from birth and we dont have to strictly follow any rules and regulations. It is upto the individual to remain good, kind and be helpful to every other life including the animals if he or she is interested in realising the Supreme Power. It is certainly truth by all means about which you can comment only after properly reading Bagawat-GITA. If you have not read, and blindly comment, it just shows your childishness irrespective of your age. Regards Shyam

  14. Working with a teacher in the materialistic world is different from teacher in the spiritual world. This cannot be compared in the first instance. Spiritual knowledge can be gained only in course of time and not just by your attachement with a particular person in that field alone. Actual spirituality comes only in course of experience due to your interactions with different kinds of people and not just with the one who has learnt vedas, bible and GITA alone. GURU not necessarily meant only a learned person on any particular aspect. A totally uneducated person may open up your eyes for something which a learned person may not be able to do. So in this instant he assumes the position of GURU. Unfortunately people other than the real acharyas like Sankara, ramanuja, madhva many followers of them read their work but not properly understand their essence and simply blindly follow thinking "yes yes guru is essential to show spiritual path" What is spirituality in real sense. Spirituality does not rely just in vedas of different religions. Spirituality lies in understanding the truth in anything. Whether a person actually worship jesus or Krishna or not, as long as he keeps perfoming his duties without fail and rise up to the occassion when he find injustice and raise his voice and actions against injustice, yes he is renounced spiritually. Whether one belives in Krishna or not, when one realise him or not HE is still there and make the soul to perform the duty ascribed to every soul. Some soul realise it in religious version, some they realise it in non religious way by devoting themselves to their regular ascribed duties. Howmuch ever this is explained in many small stories in our puranas, this concept has not reached many people including the ones who really claim they are well learned. In sankara's life itslef this is explained as an incident that anyone at anytime can be your spiritual guru and not just a learned one alone. Shankara once while going in his path met the dogeater with four dogs and shankara asked him to leave way for him. That man asked shankara "you want me to give u way by leaving this body or the soul" Shankara realised a spiritual renunciation from that dog eater and he saw Lord Shiva in that dog eater. In course of time people fabricated it and said Lord shiva appeared like that. Yes i do agree that Lord Shiva appeared, because He whether we call HIM as Shiva or Vishnu or KRishna is in everyone and this is the essence of GITA. What is the requirement of eligibility to attain this stage. Everyone and anyone is eligible to attain this spiritual stage of realising the truth in course of his life. Spirituality does not mean only realizing GOD in the religiously described form. Spirituality lies in realizing the TRUTH in anything. When you realise the truth that every individual is equal as another human and every life is equal only then we will stop hurting the other person, and other lives for our personal benefits. Realising this is the highest form of spiritual renunciation as per GITA given by the Master of Universe Shree Krishna. Regards Shyam
  15. Hi..I am giving your paragaraph and my answer below: "Krsna says, "Don't try to limit the Acarya! You may have come up to a high position, but will you then think that you have surpassed that Acarya through whom you received your initial instruction in spiritual life? No, navamanyeta don't think that there is less in him, don't consider him to be of lower position. Navamanyeta - I Myself was there! I was there in your primary teacher, in your 'college-level' teacher, and I am there in your 'post-graduate professor' also! So navamanyeta, don't look at only the outside. I Myself am your guide in different forms. It is I." Yes this is the same thing I mentioned in my reply saying that Krishna comes to us as teacher in every form in every walk of life and teach us something. Its not just reading the scriptures alone will make one gain experience to realise GOD. You realise GOD in many ways. Yes He comes in every GURU irrespective of their standards. We have to see only the KRishna portion of the individual and through every individual we meet in our lives at different times, we realise HIM. There is no question of eligibility for this. this is what i meant. regards Shyam

  17. I guess you have misunderstood what I was trying to say. I never say that one should not try to learn to reach GOD, especially through a source who is GURU. What i tried to say is there is nothing like eligible and ineligible at any stage for an individual to feel God in different things and everywhere. Yes i do strongly say that there is no need for anyone to have a mediator to talk to GOD, neither he needs to know the scriptures. This is something portryaed in course of centuries that GOD can be reached only by certain means which is certainly foolish and actually reflect the ego of several GURUS in the past who actually did not realise GOD properly. This is clearly explained in one of the purana story. ONce Naradha asked Narayana if He knows anyone other than Naradha who think of Narayana more often to reach HIM. Narayana said anyone who think of HIM just for a second in a day inspite of his all commitments as a human, will reach HIM irrepctive of his background of anykind. He said that and showed Naradha a peasant living in a village who gets up in the morning, do his duties, go to field, have his lunch, in due course confronts his wife and children etc etc., and finally at the end of the day retires to bed. He calls Narayana only two times in the day. One is at the time he gets up and another is at the time he retires to bed. Narayana found that pesant to be the ardent devotee than Naradha and he said that to Naradha. Narada was not happy with Lord's answer and he said he can prove it that none is next to him. So Narayana gave a small cup full of oil to naradha and asked Him to come around the devaloka without any oil spill even one drop. So naradha concentrated all this thoughts and on the way Lord called him and naradha did not pay any attention, because he did want to spill the oil at any chance. Finally when he finished, Narayana asked Him how many times he thought abot the Lord during his journey. Naradha could not answer for this. Then he realised that one who is duty bound and as long as he fulfills his duty for what he commited and think of GOD in the rest of the time only whenever he can its more than sufficient. The principle behind the story is: it is not necessary for every human to keep thinking about self renunciation and spend his time uselessly. One who works for the development of the society is also working for GOD, because GOD destines every soul with particular commitment and some soul who are born with religious background they are able to realise it, some by reading the scriptures, most by performing their regular ascribed duties. Just because someone does not know to read sanskrit and not able to read the scriptures, that does not mean he is not going to get renounced. Just because some one does not join under a person who is considered learned in vedas, upanishads and shastras that still does not mean he is not eligible to reach GOD or see GOD in every form. Everyone of us are just another human right from you and me. No one is eligible to say that other person has no eligibility just because I have learned everything and the other one is in the process of learning or not even interesting in learning. An individual who considers hiself that he is the learned and look down at other person who does not know anything is actually not learned by any means and not realised the supreme. Realization comes from within and not because of the GURU. Howmuch ever a GURU can teach you, you have to realize by yourself. A GURU only shows his hands to different things -basically the sources whatever he know or learnt but still you have to read and realise and that shuld come from your self. No GURU in this world can honestly claim that they have realised everything and hence show the path to others. That means why so many confrontations and conflict arise among the same school with the desciples of the same GURU. Everybody is in the process of learing and renunciation only. There are many things in this world which a GURU cannot show to the student because he himself is a student at all times. ONe has to explore their inner capacity by themselves by constantly searching for the truth and that truth is GOD. If one has the ability, determination and tenacity he/she can certainly find out the truth. Well in that case whoever guides for any particular thing assumes the role of GURU only for that particular instance, This "GURU" may be another neighbour to you, or another peasant living in a village, or any one you come across in your life time out of which you ultimately realise its one's own life time experience in different aspects is his own GURU for his self renuuciation. Regards Shyam
  18. Finally what I would like tell you in essence is: nobody in this world is eligible to tell another person that he or she is eligible or ineligible to realise God if they dont do it in a particular said way as designed by us. Honestly from what I have understood Shree Krishna, everyone is eligible irrespective of your education of enlightenment in reading the scriptures, irrespective your cultural and religious background, and its irrespective of your faith and beliefs in Shree Krishna/GOD Himself. If someone tells you that you are not eligible at this stage and will become eligible later after reading so many things, under some guidance and only then renunciation will come, then he or she actually needs renunciation and it shows that they have not understood anything clearly. Nobody can guide anyone in this matter honestly. One has to realise by himself/herself which comes at any time with or without reading scriptures or from anyone. People can only tell you to read many things but how far you take it, analyze it and accept it is upto you and it has nothing to do with any eligibility. If you dont understand anything at anytime, but remain good and kind to all, that means you have realized everything and thats enough. Regards Shyam
  19. I am giving my answer from whatever I have understood and following GITA in my life. You need not learn anything from anyone as long as you keep your mind and body pure and be helpful to others in your best possible way. You will see Krishna everywhere. There is no need to read hundreds of slokas of Gita to realise Shree Krishna. There are millions of people in this world living in places where there is not much beliefs in religion or GOD especially in some of the communist countries. Just because they dont GITA or Bible that does not mean they are not conditioned souls. They are also protected by the same GOD even if they realise HIM Or not. He gives HIS dharshan to them in a different form in the way they wish which we may not know. Being kind to all, humble, egoless, performing your duties with sincerity to which you are commited to, say if you are a teacher be a good teacher without any partiality to anyone, if a good nurse or a doctor, be at your best, if a scavenger then be a good scavenger etc etc.,. Work with commitment to your duties as professional, and if you have a family be sincere to your family with love and compassion, if you skip everything and go as a sanyasi, be really a good sanyasi with no desire for any materialistic aspect of life including going in vehicles for the sake of your followers. Again just because a sincere professional man is enjoying material comforts in this world that does not mean he is not renounced, or he is not conditioned soul. Renunciation relies on how far you perform your activities you are commited to as a human in this world. You will see Shree Krishna and You yourself will be Shree Krishna to others to whoever you helped at the times of their needs especially if you helped without any expectations from them in return. Many people read GITA, preach GITA to impress others, but how far they actually follow GITA in their personal lives God only knows. GITA is not to keep or to preach, it is to follow. If you happen to get a chance to read it, understand it, then its fine. If you dont, still its fine, none can say that you are ineligible to see Shree Krishna everywhere. There is no question of eligibility when it comes to the one-to-one relationship with Shree Krishna. You dont need anyone in the middle to reach HIM. Do you need a middle man to talk to your father and mother. Do you need any special language other than your mother tounge which you dont know to talk or write if you want to communicate to your father and mother. Talk to HIM in whatever language you know, whatever actions you are comfortable with, whatever ways you feel you can do to please HIM with your good and kind actions to other humans and other creatures. He will be with you always irrespective of whether you read or not the vedas, or its essence -the upanishads, or Krishna's life history the bagawatham and His gift the Bagawat-Gita, and even irrespective of the fact whether you have or not a GURU who can teach you all these things or not He will be with you always and you have all eligibility to see HIM, praise HIM and talk to HIM at any time and at any form. Regards Shyam
  20. Is there any thing like prematured thinking when it comes to realising Krishna. I guess and feel that none can claim that they have attained the matured stage because a person who has actually attained that matured stage will never talk about HIM, bur would rather live as what He asked in the principles of GITA. If that individual is an executive, he will be the best executive, if he give up the worldly comforts for sanyasa he will not even sit on flower arranged chairs even for the sake of people who liked him and accepted him as guru. One individual whom I feel attained that stage of self realization was only Ramana Maharishi of Thiruvannamalai in tamil nadu, India, who took sanyasa and always walked with his bare foot everywhere, was wearing only a langot (that he did because he did not want to be an eye sore for common people) never . on any arranged chairs decorated with flowers or went by vehicles (note that he too lived in the 20th century) like what the present day sanyasis do. Shyam
  21. HI..I could not find answers for why Krishna is black, but when i asked this question to my father when I was young, he told me quite convincingly. Krishna's color represents the mixture of blue sky and grey clouds, which implies that cloud does not give rain partially only for those who are good and kind, it gives rain for everyone. So Krishna's blessings are for everyone irrespective of whether we beleive in HIm or not whether we are good or bad. To represent that symbolically He is presenting Himself like the color of cloud. In my opinion, He appeared black to make the ignorant minds to realise that beauty is something to do with mind in realising yourself and GOD and not with skin color. Look at the attached picture. Does it not tell millions of stories especially the eyes which is filled only with Love for all creatues impartially. I am not able to take my eyes off from this picture. when i showed it to one of my chinese colleague who does not know anything about GOD, even he could not control himself exclaiming the beauty of this Master of Universe. Regards Shyam
  22. Hi..Its fine and absolutely fine if you see Shree Krishna everywhere. I keep chanting His name even while I take bath or clean up myself. God is not someone cruel to punish as many people portray especially when we keep thinking about Him all the time irrespective of time and place. Its a wrong concept to feel that GOD will punish or the act will displease Him to think of Him in every thing we do and see. Regards Shyam
  23. Andal is Ayonjja- born to no womb. It is astonishing, and reads more than a fantacy; right form the time of her emergence, to the moment of merging into the archamurthi Sri Ranganatha at Srirangam. She was found as an extremely enticing fully blossomed infant of Vishnuchitta, the hero of the above legand in his garden on one fine morning during his collection of flowers for worship. Deeming her as god sent though an inveterate brahmachari living in a hut surrounded in a flower garden, he determined to bring her up as his daughter, she was named Godadevi - means Bhudevi, like the sukla paksha chandra, She started growing and became an apple to the eye of everyone in the town. She imbibed , rather assimilated her father's dedication and so always engaged in singing the hymns of Lord Vishnu and assisting her father in gardening, and weaving of flowers into splended garlands. She was reverentally called the chip of the old block, she preferred solitude and had few mates. She was visitingapa Vatapatrasayi temple, alone or with her father in the morning and evening regularly, and made the neighbours and spectators raise their hands in veneration at site itself. Her father enlighted at the amazing spiritual evolution and unbounded devotion assisted and encouraged her in soulful involment in devotional activities. Her communion with God during ritualistic prayer services defied description. Finding that she was decorating herself with the garlands made for Sri Krishna at the temple deity, one day he was annoyed a little bit but made compromise himself comparing that unique act with peerless Sabari's offering of the fruits to SRIRAMA, after biting them to test their eat-worthiness. He also realised that her heart was leaning towards Sri Ranganatha and more so dreaming of marrying him alone. Finding it good but inpractible, he disuaded but in vain. She was also a Swacharya and composed two books of melodious music, beside gaining mastery over two languages Tamil and Sanskrit all from her father, who never had any schooling, but became proficient by intution and godly benediction. One day she declared her obsession of marrying Sri Ranganatha and pleaded with her father not seek any alliance for her with any young man. Learning her persistence the chief priest of Sriranga temple visited the Alwar's house behest of SriRanganatha in dream and sealed her desire with his approval. It was then the Pandyan king arrived there and hailed the decision as the most propituous and volunteered to solemnise the wedding at state's expense at Srirangam. The elated priest offered to Andal the costliest jewels and dress donated to the temple by bhaktas in the past. Adorned with them, she was taken to Srirangam in a palanquin followed by thousands of Vaishnava bhaktas with the king and queen on one side and Alwar and the priest on the other side, walking all the way. Soon after reaching the portal, She advanced into the Garbhagriha and merged into the Archamurthi and obtain Sayuiya mukti. It was a rare spectacle, a unique and unoccurred incident and will never get reenacted at any time in future. Her master pieces Tiruppavai and Nachiyar Tirumoli are being sung in all Vaishnava temples in the month of Margali since then with unparalleled spirutual fervour.
  24. The same kind of departure happend to Aandal also. I hope you all know about Aandal. She was one among the great Aalwars who lived in tamilnadu. She was born to a priest who was a devotee of Lord Krishna. She fell in love with Krishna and composed Thiruppavai on HIM. Its said that Aandal married Shree Krishna, and in every temple in tamilnadu Aandal has a separate sannidhi. Shyam
  25. Hi..A lovely experience. But a small correction. Krishna's birth star is Rohini and not krithika. shyam
