    Well done flip chip prabhu,

A thousand pictures-one video is worth a million words. Forget all the other stuff, when was the last time anyone did sankirtan with your brothers and sisters for your father?

This is the Spirit of Krsna Consciousness. That which makes everyones heart, and some feet DANCE with absolute jubilation.

It is so nice to see the Krishna Consciousness film clips on youtube.com. Thank you for sharing this one with us.

    Hare Krishna!

That's a good point. Maybe the hell fire and damnation Christian need that fear to motivate them. Never thought of it that way. Only problem I see is sometimes that fear and hellfire causes them to get maybe too riled up and do things that possibly makes it worse for them in next life. Don't know for sure.

It has been said that way back when the church father's were deciding what to include in the Holy Bible as we know it now - the decision was made to leave out the part where Jesus teaches that there is no eternal damnation in hell and that we get to come back again after punishments have been served.

Why did they leave this out? The church decided that if the people knew they get other chances and don't rot in hell for eternity then they would sin all the more knowing they would come back and get other chances to redeem themselves. Basically, it was left out to control the masses.

I don't remember which book this teaching was in but apparently Peter asked Jesus why God who is our loving father and whom we are to love would punish His children so severely forever. Jesus answered him by saying that is the secret. Hell is not for eternity.

    Moderator's note:

We have merged two threads ( vaisnasa guru and what i've learned) as one seems to be a continuation of the other.

Most likely everyone has made any points they were going to make by now. At the end of this day we will close this thread. It is being left open so that anyone who wants to make any new points or summarize their points can do so. Please try to express your views without insulting others.

i hope the end of your day is sooner than here. IMHO it should be shut down many posts ago.

In the above quote you clearly blame others for your loss of interest in chanting.

No speculation, Babba, your words are clear. If your faith is broken don't try to break the faith of others. "Every wave is a favorable wave" - Sridhar Maharhaja. "I am a faith maker not a faith breaker" - Sridhar Maharaja

It is obvious from each post this person puts on this thread and all others that they had zero interest in chanting. They knew what would get other participants to pay attention, got the attention and now has gone for the throat.

responding with quotes and so on to this person only helps them to offend all the more.

i am still in wonder as to how this is person is being allowed to behave and offend so blantantly on a vaisnava forum.

this person had no faith to break in the first place.

However, Im not so concerned with his feelings or beliefs, because they are tainted with the actual reason he has come to these forums. His motives are clear, he is acting on true missionary concerns, that which makes him bring about his point that entirely everyone who uses these pages are in need of his liberating services. He has come to save us from slavery.

He rants and raves about homo gurus and slavemaster gurus, but there is no such thing. There are pedophiles and criminals, but those who have any sense at all can recognize non-vaisnava character, and do not go near such people (animals).

Actually, Srila Prabhupada told it to me, personally, that the devotee owns only three things, Krsna, Japa beads, and the Spiritual Master. In other words, cbrahma has it backwards, the diksa guru agrees to be the slave of his disciple, fulfilling every desire of the disciple. The archives of letters, teachings, books, tape ministries, all confirm that Srila Prabhupada is the servant of the servant, that he serves even his disciples. Perhaps this service attitude, when judged by mundane historians, can be viewed as a fault with Srila Prabhupada, that he provided service to some very unqualified persons, giving them everything, as he has confirmed in a stateme3nt made just 35 days before he ledft this world. In this statement of October 5, 1977, he tells his disciples that he has gioven them everything they have desired, but now they must protect the gift, or spoil it forever.

No, cbrashma, the resident servant and slave of the deprogrammers and christian superiority nazis who say all that Iraq needs is Jesus, is not speaking from actual knowledge of the wonders of diksa. Sri Narayana Maharaja has clearly stated fact, that the spiritual master owns nothing but Krsna, and his relationship with his disciples is rather unique in that he agrees to become their servants as well.

    Haribol, ys, mahaksadasa

Can someone explain to me why such people as cbrashma are allowed to rant and rave about each and everything that we as Gaudiya Vaisnavas hold dear? Are such things really considered spiritual discussions? And is it really to anyone's best interest to be subjected to grave offenses to our acaryas?

I honestly thought that this was a Vaisnava forum.

  7.

valid question, but perhaps it is all about cultivating a wrong perspective.

neither institution has failed as they produced thousands of wonderful devotees all over the world, advancing the mission of Lord Caitanya far beyond what many Gaudiyas thought possible. If you want to see failure you will find it.

would Lord Caitanya call GM or Iskcon a failure? or would He rejoyce at the many great things they have done? How would He se each one of us? a failure, or a success?

one is a failure as a devotee if all we see and think about is faults and failures of others.

    . failures of others.

I don't know anyone or heard of anyone like that, so why should I assume that you are telling the truth?

Games, like Sex, like booze, like drugs, like every stupid thing in this world IS ADDICTIVE. It depends on personal responsibility on how you indulge in it.

Like I said before, give up married life, family, your job, status and everything else in life because this too will make you want to sit on your fat butt and forget about Krishna.

Actually, I don't care whether or not you believe me. Just because YOU have not heard of such of person does not mean they don't exist. I wasn't talking to you anyway.

  9. I know someone so involved in these silly games that he quit his job and sits at home playing day and night. Not only that but he lies to his wife about looking for work and not finding any while she works to support him.

They live in his mother-in-laws house who is crippled and works all day. But a young healthy man sits on his butt playing games like a child.

Don't pretend it is Krishna enjoying the games to rationalize wasting your precious time when it is just you wallowing in maya.

    Dear prabhu,

    PAMHO

Here's the mantra you requested. Be well, and God bless.

    yus, Bhakta Raj Prabhu das

    The mantra . . .

sarira abidya- jal, jodendriya tahe kal,

    jive phele visaya- sagore

ta’ra madhye jihwa ati, lobhamoy sudurmati,

    ta’ke jeta kathina samsare

krishna baro doyamoy, koribare jihwa jay,

    sva-prasad-anna dila bhai

sei annamrta pao, radha- krishna- guna gao,

    preme dako caitanya- nitai

    Jaya Nimai, jaya Nitai!

    Bhagavad Prasadam ki jaya!

    Srila Prabhupada ki jaya!

    Hare Krishna,

Yes, the above is the prayer that you would say if you are following the instructions of Srila Prabhupada.

On these forums you should state whose teachings you follow or you will get what has happened here, a huge variety of prayers from all sorts of traditions. This will cause confusion to newcomers. This is one of the problems with combining these forums. They used to be separate on their own pages but now we have this huge mish-mash of teachings. I can only imagine the confusion this is causing for newbies.

  11.

Even Prabhupada showed by example that one should submit to the GBC (I don't have the quote here, but it's in the lilamrta, where he is talking to his GBC men regarding families in temples).

As far as I can see regarding "rubber stamping gurus" etc, it's not that someone is not Guru until the GBC gives them the OK, but rather they are not an official ISKCON guru. The GBC is there to check that the 'gurus' aren't bogus, are following Srila Prabhupada's teachings etc. If someone gets declined, they are of course free to be a non-ISKCON guru.

The Lilamrta is not a proper source of reference.

  12.

Krsna was quite wrong when Mother Yasoda chased Him. He thought by the influence of Yoga Maya that she was going to beat Him and He was very scared. She would never beat Him. So this is how God is wrong. Now try to forget that Krsna is God.

Lord Krishna is not influenced by maya. He plays these parts to please His devotees who want to be His parents, friends etc.

He played the part for the benefit of Mother Yasoda and then when He saw that she had become so disturbed by His tears He allowed His pure devotee to capture Him much to her joy.

It is impersonalism to believe He is influenced by maya like we are.

  13.

Ah, yes. This is so true. That is why SP published the Krsna Book or the forbidden Tenth Canto of SB right away when he came to Western countries. And that is why he had people go out to airports and into the street and give the Tenth Canto of SB to people who had never read or heard of Bhag Gita.

Just gave them SB even while they are eating meat smoking cigs drinking etc so that half of the SBs ended up in airport garbage bin afterwards. And that's why SP said, "If they just look at it or touch it, it will purify them." And that is why when SP asked his disciples to read aloud Krsna Book for him, he told them just open it anywhere and read, "Because anywhere you taste sugar candy it is sweet." So yah this is really true. SP made sure that every single one of then five billion people in the world read BG before he even dreamed of publishing SB. And you had to write in to a monastery the only authorized dealer of SB and prove you were initiated and had read and understood Bhag Gita first plus received dharma transmission and from which lama before anyone would even send a SB to you, like the Tibetan Buddhists do for their more esoteric teachings. So yessiree bob all of these stringent checks and balances were in place to keep the neophyte kanisthas from making offenses.

What is your problem? I only repeated what I learned from Srila Prabhupada plus it was in answer to a particular question by some other unnamed guest.

Theist, please accept my humble apologies if anything I may have said in your thread has caused any disrupture in the nectar. This was not my intent as I am only repeating what I learned from my spiritual master which is to start at the beginning and follow thru so we have an understanding of who is Lord Krishna. Also, to read Bhagavad-gita first.

  14.

If i were you, i would read Gita first. Because it is the essence of the Vedas. So first understand Krsna's personal message, then study the scripture which speak about Krsna. Although thats my opinion.

    hari bol

It is prescribed by Srila Prabhupada that we read Bhagavad-gita first (not just read but study) before we go on to the Srimad Bhagavatam.

Prabhupada then tells us to read the Bhagavatam from the beginning; not to jump here and there. If we do not read from the beginning but jump to other parts of the Srimad Bhagavatam we are in danger of misunderstanding and commiting many offenses by speculating and concocting.

  15. Can you please provide the reference to Shankaracarya's mission being to fool people into creating unwanted progeny?

My understanding is that Shankaracarya's mission was to trick people back to the Vedas and to the understanding that they needed to take shelter of Lord Krishna's lotus feet. At that time Buddhism was taking over India.

Shankaracarya's followers have twisted his teachings to suit their needs....sound familiar.

  16. Srila Prabhupada gave permission for his murti to be placed in the temples.

"The photos of my murti are very nice. The murti of the Spiritual Master should be treated as good as the Deity. Saksad-dharitvena samasta-sastrair, uktas tatha bhavyata eva sadbhih/kintu prabhor yah priya eva tasya, The guru should be treated as good as God. This is stated in all the sastras. The difference is that God is master-God and guru is servant-God. So the installation ceremony for such a murti should be similar to that done for other Deities. All Temples can have this Deity if they like."

    Srila Prabhupada letter

    Mayapur, January 29, 1976

Did he ever give permission for others to do the same? Did he even give permission for the pictures of these other gurus to be placed on the altars?

I find this whole thing most distressing. So many deviations, so many changes.
