Do you want to surrender to Krishna or do you want to be Krishna's beloved?

In the company of one who is living Love (a devotee), you also can’t but spring into that Love (Devotion).

You have just been overshadowed by the events in your mind---that is all that has happened. A cloud has covered the sun. What can any cloud do to the sun? Can it destroy it? Remember your nature. You are the only Soul, only Being.

You build a world in your mind only through your intentions, your own thought processes. You go on building a castle: what the other person is thinking about you---they may not even think about you anything. You may simply not exist in other person's consciousness, for they are worried about themselves. But you build a big castle about what they are thinking about you in your mind.

I have collected these quotes from various devotees from all the Sampradayas. Many of the quotes can be found indirectly in the hymns of the Alvars. Some of them are from great devotees like Sri Lakshmi Thathachar (Melkote - Sri Sampradaya), Sri Bannanje Govindacharya (Udupi - Sri Madhva Sampradaya) and Sri Sri RaviShankar (Advaita philosopher). I have many other quotes about devotion to the Supreme Lord by various teachers from the Advaita, Dvaita and Vishistadvaita Vidya peethas (study centres).

Dear Srivats, I think you should not feel bad about the reply of the 'Guest'. Maybe, he has not understood the poem. Many of the westerners are still in the learning process. We need to be tolerant. Well, if he has understood and pretends to be ignorant, you need not worry about it. He will learn in future that he should not degrade any teachings. "If you find somebody who has misunderstood, you need to educate and ignore. These are two words you must remember. Just ignoring is not good; that's arrogance. "I'm just trying to educate and see whether they have got it," is also no good. Because then you put all your strength to make them understand---that never happens. So, these two should go hand-in-hand. You should educate and ignore."
