  1. Your reply was very informative. Thanks a lot for that. It also convinced me to worship Lord Subramanya to clear this dosha. The astrologer has informed that a person needs to undertake vratam for a period of 90 days. He needs to worship the Lord with full of devotion and faith. Thanks for the support!
  2. --------------------------- That the lord is formless only means that he pervades throughout the universe and cannot be restricted to any one place or form. --------------------------- Vishnu means "All-pervading"...So, you're right.
  3. Govindaram, --------------------------- Who chants Hare-Krishna and becomes a devotee, is freed from the malific influence of planets automatically --------------------------- I'm trying to become a devotee by chanting Hare Krishna mantra and Gayathri mantra. Though I'm not very faithful in my chanting, Krishna has blessed me in so many ways. I know that if I'm a DEVOTEE, then there are no Doshas at all. But still, I'm on my way....I'm not yet there. Sometimes, I find it very difficult to worship other deities than Lord Krishna. I'm in such a dilemma and thought that I could take some advice. This is the first time I have been informed that there are some problems in my birth chart and I was disturbed by that information (That's Human Tendency I think..) I was thinking about solutions and I thought about this forum.
  4. Shyam, Thank you for the detailed explanation. I consulted few astrologers this week and they have informed me that I need to worship Lord Subramanya also. I will also ensure that I pray to Lord Krishna. The astrologer also tallied the 'Jataka' (Birth chart) of few famous personalities who had this dosha. Some of them include: Bill Clinton Mahatma Gandhi Atal Behari Vajpayee Do you know of the exact reason to get this Dosha? What sins will lead to this Dosha? Any information is appreciated... Thanks again.
  5. Long time ago I met few of the Brahma Kumaris during Shivarathri festival (Shiva's night). They are sort of confused souls who speak lots about 'Nirguna' form of the Lord. These days they have started preaching at government offices of various states in India. They also contend that Krishna and Rama were common men. They concentrate completely on the formless aspect of the Lord. I have also heard few of them preach against God. So, it's confusing as well as boring philosophy.
  6. Hello Everybody, Does anyone here have information on the 'KaLa Sarpa Dosha'? I would like information as to the reason for this dosha and the remedy. This is a serious issue that's really bothering me for a couple of days. I would really appreciate your help. PS: Please post if you have any scriptural quotes related to this topic. Thanks.

  9. ------------------------- Annamaya, Meerabai and every one else? ------------------------- I have heard that Annamaya was initiated by Narada Muni. (He came in a different form and initiated Annamaya). I will be very thankful if anyone could shed more light on this.
  10. I feel that the attitude of loving everyone and loving God is more important here. Jesus loved everyone and loved God. He sacrified his life for the sake of preaching the glories of God. So, Jesus (that loving and sacrificing attitude of Jesus) is the only way.
  11. Jesus is love-yes. Jesus is the only way can be written as... Love-yes is the only way. Loving all the living entities without enmity and Loving Lord Krishna and His devotees is the only way. Infact loving Lord Krishna should automatically result in all of us loving all the living entities. So, Jesus is the only way.
  12. I just finished all those...and 2 years back I have started my cow life.
  13. Hi LivingEntity, I am also with you. I have started barking when I'm still in cow's life /images/graemlins/smile.gif Many a time, I also repent about that because I hurt so many on my way.

    Sai Baba

It's best to know and understand that Sai Baba is a philanthropist. He has built big hospitals and also has free water supply to many places in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The latest teachings of Sai Baba that I saw in the newspaper - he recommended everyone only to chant the holy names of God, especially Lord Rama. He had also adviced all the people to cultivate good qualities such as honesty, tolerance etc. However, he is not God. He is not Bhagavan, simply because he does not possess those wonderful qualities of Lord Krishna.
  16. I also overheard that the Government of India has started training priests in Jagannath Puri temple and other important temples in Northern India inorder to protect the diety and themselves incase of any attacks.
  17. On the first day God created the cow. God said, "You must go to the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty years." The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. Let me have twenty years and I'll give back the other forty." And God agreed. On the second day, God created the dog. God said, "Sit all day by the door of our house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years." The dog said, "That's too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I'll give back the other ten." So God agreed (sigh). On the third day God created the monkey. God said, "Entertain people, do monkey tricks, make them laugh. I'll give you a twenty year life span." Monkey said, "How boring, monkey tricks for twenty years? I don't think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that's what I'll do too, okay?" And God agreed again. On the fourth day God created man. God said, "Eat, sleep, play, enjoy. Do nothing, just enjoy, enjoy. I'll give you twenty years." Man said, "What? Only twenty years? No way man. Tell you what, I'll take my twenty, and the forty cow gave back, and the ten dog gave back and the ten monkey gave back. That makes eighty, okay?Okay," said God. "You've got a deal." So that is why for the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play, enjoy, and do nothing. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain our grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit in front of the house and bark at everybody. Life has finally been explained.
  18. A 'black belt' temple priest PTI[ MONDAY, JULY 07, 2003 02:46:24 AM ] CHENNAI: Heard of a 'black belt' temple priest? Chennai has at least one in middle-aged Seshadri, who has been asked to train a group of young priests of the famous Tirupati temple in the art to protect the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Balaji. "Coming to know of my karate skills from press reports, the security adviser to the Andhra Pradesh government D R Subramani got in touch with me and requested me to train young priests to protect the most holy part of the famous hill temple," Seshadri said. Asked what drew him to acquire the art of 'Isshinryu' form of karate, Seshadri, who attained the Black Belt Dan I level last year, said he was inspired after seeing Bruce Lee movies in his youth. He said after meeting the security adviser, he attended an interview with chief security officer Dhamodran at Tirumala Tirupati Devsom (TTD), who offered him a two-year contract to train six priests. But he turned down the offer as he was employed permanently by Asthalakshmi Temple at Besant Nagar in the city. Asked why he had not accepted the offer, he said "I did not accept, as after two years, I would be rendered jobless". However, on his request, the TTD approached the Tamil Nadu temple administration to depute him to the TTD for two years. The TTD was awaiting clearance, the Karate expert, who hoped to achieve the next level 'Dan II' by November next, said.
  19. The relationship between the Master and the disciple is very beautiful. The best that I think about the relationship can be summarized in this nice thought: "A student comes to a master, a teacher, a guru, with tears in his eyes, there is so much problems. And when he leaves he carries the same tears, but the quality of the tear is different; it’s of gratitude. Still tears flow, but they are of gratitude, of love." I'm waiting to feel and show this gratitude towards the great masters.
  20. Living upto the dignity of the Master and Dissolving into the Master indicates that the disciple should follow the teachings of the Master perfectly. It can be taken in this spirit...."Dissolving into the teachings of the Master in such a way that our whole lifestyle (which includes character and social conduct) is based on the words of the spiritual master. It is to follow the words of the Master exactly and perfectly." With such sincere efforts I'm sure the love and devotion for God and Master can be awakened within our hearts. This is just a small thought. It might be incorrect too....and anyone can correct me incase it is wrong. I just wanted all of us to evaluate ourselves whether we are dissolving ourselves into the teachings of the Master. Self-examination and self-evaluation helps us progress on this path. Theist, I'm sorry if I confused you again. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  21. 'He has come into my heart,’ the Alvar cries, `There is nothing more to wish for’: --------------------------- He the divine cowherd So distant from us, He who changes his form so, That no one can near Him, He the infinite mystery Who on that distant day Measured the worlds with His feet, Has today come to me. How, I do not know, And life is Passing sweet. ---------------------------
  22. 'The world of man is sweet,’ says the Alvar, `but far sweeter the world of God’: --------------------- Sweet are the days of friendship, Sweet one’s family branching wide, Sweet is the love of kinsmen, Sweet are the uses of noble birth. Yet, my good heart, Do taste the limitless sweet of His praise, He whose divine bow is ever bent To protect those who love Him. ---------------------
  23. Nammalvar pleads with his heart to speak of God always even if it were in mockery: --------------------------- There is not a moment to rest, my heart. You could speak of Him in dispraise, Laughing if you like At the Lord of Mystery, He of the sweet tulasi wreath, At how he was beaten By a woman of the cowherds. You hang back even from that. That is your curse. ---------------------------
