1. Well as I see it in your scenario the objection would be eggs are not offerable. Milk from protected cows is considered offerable. Otherwise they are pretty much the same. Eggs are a transformation of chicken blood and milk is a transformation of cows blood as all bodily tissues are. They are both gross in my eyes. The Masai in Africa herd cattle and goats and periodically tap into their juggular veins and drink the blood. Otherwise they treat them well until slaughter. From an animal rights viewpoint your proposal seems rather benign as far as I know. Personally I have no objection is one wants to collect roadkill and eat that as meat, it is the suffering caused to the animal that I object to.
2. This age of kali is characterized by quarrel and confusion. We here are not immune no matter how we may pretend to be above the fray of the world. We are mostly beginners no matter how many books we may know or how long we think we have been involved in spiritual study. What we see here and elsewhere on the internet should not be called debatesIMO. They are arguments mostly which lack the sophistication of debates. I have read that an honest debate in the vedic tradition held that the loser of the debate become a student of the winner. That takes immense humility. I have never seen any thing close to that. Generally we are reluctant to even admit we are wrong on a single point let alone submit to another for instruction. A problem I have and bring to as such disccussions is I have never been a good listerner to the views of others. if someone has a problem in theirlife I am a great listerner but if they have a belief different from my own on spiritual matters I display little patience. It's a deeply held problem that I am aware of and working on overcoming but it may take a couple more lifetimes at the rate I am going. When two or more people like me get together and disagree well...
3. Yogesh. Thank you for such a wonderful post and thread. Opening this thread first this morning has to be a most positive omen.
4. Pesco means fish right? Is poyo a reference to chicken? Is that a real term they use? LOL OMG it's crazy out there. Meat eaters are even proud of themselves now for just eating organic cows. Never mind the cows still suffer they are treated better before their throats are cut. Vegetarians do this with milk also.
5. She is probably referring to the fact that the eggs are unfertilized and so won't produce chicks. Even so it is the product if a chickens mentsrual (sp) cycle and therefore disgusting as a food product. It is also as much as a part of the chicken as chicken blood. I also see animal milk in the same way. I'll bump suchandra's thread on eggs being meat for you. You may find it interesting. Even vitamins sometimes have animal origins. Like vit. D. D2 is from fish livers whereas D3 is vegan. I boycott everything that is not specifically vegan. Works for me. But we can never become pure through this method. Something will always slip by no matter how careful we are. So we do our best without becoming too obsessive and going nutso . Believe me I have been there. In the 70's I was trying to replace ever particle of my body with prasadam and obtain a 'prasadam body'. That seemed to be going OK until one day I was walking past a fast food chicken place and smelled the cooking chicken corpses. I then realized to my horror that minute chicken parts molecules were entering my system through my nostrils and defeating my efforts of developing a prasadam body. I was horrified ....and defeated . Do your best and forget the rest with mind fixed on Krsna. He promises to "preserve what His devotees have and carry what they lack" so we will try to hang with His devotees and we may be accepted also by being in their proximity.
6. Yeah that's the problem with the word vegetarian. There is a group of people that call themselves lacto-ovo-vegetarians meaning they eat dairy and egg products. I've met people who call themselves vegetarian because they don't eat meat except chicken and fish. I have found the only safe way is to look for the word VEGAN. That is the only sure bet.
7. Clearly we have no more to talk about Ganeshprasad. I am happy to leave you to your polytheistic view of reality and ultimate Advaita.
8.

Here is the online dictionary's definition.

Main Entry:

demi·god

1 : a mythological being with more power than a mortal but less than a god[God] 2 : a person so outstanding as to seem to approach the divine The problem Gangeprasad is that you are not accepting of the Vaisnava conclusion and many of us are. We wll never accept what you say nor you what we say.
9. Krishna says: Hardly an endorsement. No such thing as a Half God. We agree here. The demigods are much much less than that. There is no comparison between the finite and the Supreme Lord.
10. As I have already said I cannot understand most of your posts. Can I be more clear?
11. Yeah I am not educated either and have forgotten most rules of grammer that I may have learned. Here is another example. From this I can only conclude you are a little crazy. Of course everyone is but your sort of crazy expression does not track well with my crazy sense of comprehension. Sorry.
12. Could I ask you to use a more orthodox sentence structure please. This stream of thought, one running into another is just too difficult for me to follow. An example: "poison to necter poison krishna has his hand in the butter jar all the time ,". ????????? I do notice the one point COMMERCIAL milk drinkers never address is the fact that they are responsible for suffering to so many cows.
13. Doesn't sound like milk calcium is working for you either. I don't know what to say. I have never heard of osteopenia indulekhadasi. I wish I could be more helpful.
14. You entered the thread. I am not at your doorstep. "Adverse effect on me" is exactly the same response meat eatters give when they have no desire to stop their cruel ways and no good arguments to defend their actions. Yes I criticize animal abusers and feel no shame in doing so. "blame capitaism". You can't hide from your own personal responsibility by trying to hide yourself in society or claiming "the capitalist's make me do it." You personally make the choice to buy their products of violence and support their efforts. Time to man up and admit responsibility for your own actions.
15. Such nonsense. You selfish fools think your brains will rot if you don't slaughter some cow for milk. At the same time you claim to be big vedic cow protectors. What a joke. Calcium citrate for me as a supplement and no cows die for my precious brain.
16. yeah right. Why not use your brain and start protecting the cows then? You can start by not drinking milk from UNprotected cows.
17. Your right. Many people are trying to practice what they conceive of as being a brahmana by imitating religious practices from a past era...often with embarassing consequences. Better then concentrating on the external trappings of what we think of as a brahmana is to take the essence on braminical life by concentrating on developing the qualities of a brahmana which are transcendental to time place cultural and religous tradition. Forget about the thread and concentrate on this sloka from the Gita. Chanting itself is complete and these qualities will help us in our chanting.
18. Calcium for the brain huh. Please explain the effect MILK derived calcium has on the brain vs. calcium for other sources. You are willing to torture and slaughter cows so your brain can have their calcium. Also please back up your claim that bhakti and commercial milk go together.
19. Some seem to consider drinking milk more important to spiritual life then developing compassion. Makes no sense to me.
20. Through intelligence we can see the futility of being attached tothis body and any of it's paraphenelia. So accepting the inevitable why not die to it now and remain detached?
21. Only Mahaprabhu could deliver them by His mercy. Only Mahaprabhu can deliver them today.
22. This thread is a perfect example of what a hodge podge bowl of confusion this hinduism is. These people will accept anything and everything except the reality they we are the eternal servants of the Supreme God.
23. I have no interest in your shiksa or studying Advaita in any form. I am only interested in the vaisnava conclusion. You mock Vaisnavas in your posts so who are you to lecture anyone about appreciating anothers path.
