  3. If you have real player-8 or above you can hear Lalitha Sahasranamam from the following links: http://www.malayalavedhi.com/Music/Music.php?q=m&m=%2FHindu____Devotionals%2FLaLitha_Sahasra_Naamam_1____VENMANi_ViSHNU_NAMBOOTHiRiPAADU.ra http://www.malayalavedhi.com/Music/Music.php?q=m&m=%2FHindu____Devotionals%2FLaLitha_Sahasra_Naamam_2____VENMANi_ViSHNU_NAMBOOTHiRiPAADU.ra http://www.musicindiaonline.com/p/x/3UC9It8.dt.As1NMvHdW/ and soundarya lahari from:(you may need realplayer and java-runtime-environment J2SE installed) http://www.musicindiaonline.com/p/x/NJC9kYtVzd.As1NMvHdW/ http://www.musicindiaonline.com/p/x/NUC94uBXzS.As1NMvHdW/ SoundaryaLahari was written by "Jagat Guru Adi Sankaracharya" Sahasranama by Vasini and others. Soundarya Lahari describes the Mother in such a way that even a cow-lad should know Her greatness after reading it(if he knows Sanskrit). And it contains other hidden meanings also, which common men cant understand. Each verse of the SoundaryaLahari has its own Upasana rituals and its corresponding Yantras.......words are not enough....

  5. "....Krishna is very clear that we shouldn't worship devatas for material benefits. If at all you want to worship them, you may do so to attain Uttama Bhakti for Krishna..." could you tell this to people before Krishna? and if deities could not help us,what is their use! the purpose that lord Vyasa gave us them is not fulfilled then.
  6. Lalitha Sahasranama chanting as a daily practice gives relief from the perils in life .The unparalleled greatness of this hymn, which is full of the power of mantras, is capable of fulfilling all desires. Among the many hymns, mantras and devotional songs available, this Sahasranama is specially suitable for worship in the morning and produces quick results. While Sahasranamas giving material well-being and salvation are prescribed for all castes and in all stages of life, Lalita Sahasranama is especially suitable for householders. The aim of the Vedas and other scriptural texts is to inspire the love of God and dispassion in human beings and to raise them step by step to the realisation of the Self. The object of the phalashruti -- the description of the benefits accruing from a certain form of worship -- is to strengthen the sense of devotion in people and to make them qualified for higher forms of sadhana, by pointing out the way to remove the hardships of life and to gain prosperity. The main items in the phalashruti on Lalita Sahasranama given in the Brahmanda Purana are summarised below. 1. This Sahasranama, which is most secret, is most pleasing to Lalitha Parameshvari(Supreme Goddess). There is nothing to equal this in the Vedas or Tantras. 2. The daily chanting of this hymn gives the same merit as that obtained from bathing in holy rivers and giving gifts of wealth, food, land and cows. 3. Barren women get the gift of children by taking ghee that has been made potent by chanting Lalita Sahasranama. 4. By daily chanting of the Sahasranama, the effects of evil spells are removed. Devotees doing archana in a brahmasthana festival 5. All the faults arising from not completing puja rituals or from not observing various rites on time are removed by the chanting of this hymn. This hymn may be chanted instead of various expiatory rituals. 6. If this hymn is chanted while picturing Lalita Devi as residing in the ocean of nectar, one obtains relief from the effects of poison. 7. Relief from afflictions due to the influence of planets or evil spirits can be removed by chanting the Sahasranama while holding some water and then pouring that water over the head. 8. Chanting this prevents untimely death and grants long life and good health. Relief from fever is obtained if this hymn is chanted with a hand held on the head of the one who is suffering. The person who is suffering can do this himself. Depending on the severity of the disease, it may be necessary to chant the hymn several times. The holy ash used for Sahasranama archana brings immediate relief from all diseases. 9. Devi protects those who chant this hymn daily from dangers and from attacks by enemies. Victory in battle is gained through the chanting. 10. Daily chanting of the Sahasranama augments prosperity, eloquence and fame. Chanting on Fridays is especially good for prosperity. 11. The Sahasranama may be chanted by those who are in any of the four stages of life (brahmacharya, grihastha, vanaprastha and sannyasa). Chanting it while wishing fame brings fame and wishing wealth brings wealth. Chanting this hymn with love and without any desire brings the knowledge of Brahman. 12. One name of Shiva is equal to a thousand names of Vishnu. One name of Devi is equal to a thousand names of Shiva. Of a thousand Sahasranamas dedicated to Devi, Lalita Sahasranama is the most exalted. 13. By holding yagnas of Lalita Sahasranama (worship in large groups), the consolidation of dharma becomes possible in the Kali Yuga. Chanting this hymn is most beneficial for individuals also, for eliminating the ill effects of Kali Yuga. There is no barrier of country, caste or religion in this regard. 14. It is difficult to please Devi without the chanting of Lalita Sahasranama. Through this hymn, the sins accrued in many births are removed. 15. There are many Sahasranamas dedicated to Devi. The following 10 are the chief among these: Gangastava, Bhavanistava, Gayatristava, Kalistava, Lakshmistava, Sarasvatistava, Rajarajeshvaristava, Balastava, Syamalastava and Lalitastava. Of these, the most exalted is the last one, Lalita Sahasranama.
  7. "...its GOD himself hasnt come forward to let people that others r fake and are not great..." You may be saying about the unmanifest BRAHMAN. but GOD himself came in several forms like Krishna,Rama etc We have many options to reach the unmanifest through these deities(manifested). Lord Vyasa had given us so many deities that even chanting those holy names help us break the bondage.
  8. The most probable answer is: GOD (or ISWAR),whatever they say You havent given that option.
  9. "....You cannot find a single name of Vishnu to misrepresent and sacrifice..." I searched for that in the Vishnu Sahasranama. Could find only two of them.but they dont directly refer to sacrifice since Vishnu pujas are sattwik. i found: name 680: Ranapriya meaning: Fond of wars. name 114: Rudra meaning: One who makes all beings cry at the time of cosmic dissolution. Rudra surely likes sacrifices. last name: Sarva_praharana_ayudha meaning: All sorts of weapons to assault. I wonder why this name is the concluding name in the hymn. In Lalitha Sahasranama,it is Lalithambika --quite reasonable. In Vishnu Sahasranama, more than 70 names repeat. here and there many conjunctions are pushed into. Anyway the Vaishnavas justified it in their definitions.
  10. "...You interpret the Bali priya term to give your own explanation. But in cases like this the direct meaning does have much implication..." anyway it was not my definition as i had read it in the books. to know what it really means, one has to consult the Vag-Devatas who composed it. "..........You cannot find a single name of Vishnu to misrepresent and sacrifice. And very simply why sacrifice is always involved with Shiva and Kali? Why these tamasic men get attracted to them always? Why they dont bother Vishnu?..........." and sacrifice or bali of the animals is the tamsik form of worship. the three forms of worships are meant for the three sorts of men. The deities are also of three sorts--sattwik,rajasik and tamasik. As we all know Vishnu, Krishna etc are Sattwik deities. As given in the puranas: Rudra, with the tamsik aspect performs samharam, Vishnu, with the sattwik aspect performs sthithi, and Brahma with the rajasik aspect performs srishti. these three gunas reflect in their worship also. That is why Vishnu pujas doesnt include sacrifice while some of the Kali puja does. Also, Kali,Siva can be worshipped in the other ways --sattwik/rajasik. They treat all sorts of creatures alike--whether tamsik or rajasik or sattwik. They are the parents---hence no partiality. ===================== Similar is the case with the divine mother. She cant be confined to a particular Gunam like the other deities Vishnu,Indra etc.. She is an all-rounder.That is why Samaya as well as Dakshina Tantras are used to worship Her. Kaula worships include sacrifices and gives instant effects. Ask any of the tantriks why they dont perform sattwik tantras--the answer is simple--it is very hard and slow to bear fruits.
  11. ".........But as it would have it,there are certain flaws like Bali priya,Rowdra Rupa and other terms along with mention of Left hand tantric path(Dakshinaa dakshina rupini)...." it is not rowdra rupa. it is rudra-roopa. The hymn praises mother in all aspects. the name you notified goes like this ..SRISHTI_KARTRI, BRAHMA_ROOPA, GOPTRI , GOVINDA_ROOPINI, SAMHARINI,RUDRA_ROOPA ,TIRODHANAKARI, ISWARI, SADASIVA ,ANUGRAHADA........... saw that? they are the pancha brahmas. the five manifeatations of the supreme one. viz BRAHMA,VISHNU,RUDRA,ISHWARA,SADASIVA. they do the five karmas of the supreme one. viz SRISHTI,STITHI(GOPANAM),SAMHARAM, TIRODHANAM,ANUGRAHAM. now once more read the hymn. it describes the mother as "srishti kartri" in the roopam(form ) of Brahma ..Goptri(stithi) in the form of Govinda "Samharini" in the form of Rudra.and so on......
  12. u didnt spare the opportunity to defame mother. what is this?=========== "....The concept of Divine Mother where we attribute all the above said good things to a deity Laitha devi can be found in Lalitha Sahasranamam. But as it would have it,there are certain flaws like Bali priya,Rowdra Rupa and other terms along with mention of Left hand tantric path(Dakshinaa dakshina rupini).Hence that very resepctable book even cannot attribute all perfect things to a Divine Mother......" ======== they are not flaws. Bali= one who has the Balam(strength). and that balam is the sattwik balam that a devotee possess. that sattwik sakthi prevents him from doing sins even though he is in a circumstance or surrounding where he could do it. balipriya=one who is fond of the balis. the name indicates that Devi is pleased with such Balis. The tamsik worshippers only interpret the way you did. They offer Balis(sacrifice). We can also offer vegetables as bali.
  13. there is a name in the Vishnu Sahasranama "MUKTHANAM PARAMA GATHI".(I think the 12th name) the meaning of the name is somewhat like "the ultimate destination for the liberated souls". This praise is written by Veda Vyasa. All the puranas are also supposed to be composed by Him. Then why several puranas proclaim various deities as supreme? Can anyone explain why Lord Vyasa did so? if Vishnu is the aim, what is the significance of the other puranas? With only one deity people could avoid these fights and confusions.
  14. "...The four wives of that heroic son of Sura ascended the funeral pyre and were consumed with the body of their lord....." it is clearly given that they ascended the funeral and there was no compulsion. now, shall i ask how many of the ordinary women could do this? so please stop worrying about those divine wives of the Lord. by burning our body in fire, it divides back into the pancha bhutas(five elements) by which it was made of. the soul is not harmed in any way.
  15. What about a solution for this weakening of the culture?
  16. I have seen hindus shy away from bowing to the temples and deities. They may even abuse their own religion and deities. Most of the atheists in india are hindus. while muslims and christians are very much adhesive to their religions. why only hindus dont believe their religious stuff?
  17. "..why does god follow indian culture? .." it is just the reverse. India follows God's own culture.thats why.
  18. you are correct. We can surely find shelter on the feet of divine persons. At Jesus' time the fishermen instantly believed at His divinity when He walked over the sea. also he used to cast out the evil spirits. His followers didnt abuse Him by saying that He is some maha purusha and not a purushottama. the people in kali yuga are fond of false stories about the avatars.i also heard many about Sai,Ammachi etc but disbelieved them not without a reason.
  19. ============ do all who do labor are slaves, child? your mother did labor to get you in this world. was she a slave? some US presidents also cut wood by an axe sometimes. are/were they slaves? ============= here you are comparing two completely different entities. you compare a mother's labour at birth and a president's cutting of a tree with the life-long suffering of slaves. if the president held axe for some time, it is in no way similar to doing slavery for the uppercastes the whole life just bcoz one was born in a family which the prominent men say 'is the backward caste'. instead of abolishing such caste systems, your mythic hero supported them, isnt it? suppose you were born in such a family which krishna classified as sudras. will u be happy to do slavery till you die? what is the basis of that classification? i know it is wealth. ============== if you are a hater of krishna, coming as a child, then it wont help any one. if you have sincere desire to learn, we would help. else it would be waste of time. =============== i dont have prob with a mythological super-star. but when people justify even the most henious things did by that hero, then i begin to think against it. the same way i dont believe in odin, thor,or osiris nor support their deeds.
  20. "...If I told you I had the wisdom for eternal life in this physical body, would you ask for it?.." I am asking for it. Now your part. I also will be here.
  21. "...........Ram and Krishna are God but assumed human body for their lila, we are jivas who're trapped in samsara. In Ram and Krishna, it is the case of voluntary descent or avatara to protect dharma. Get it?........." what is the proof? how would you know that? if god can assume human forms, then why you ignore when he is before us as Sathya Sai baba? How did you judge that He is not an avatar? I understand that you got the ideas that krishna/rama are gods from the puranas right? your problem is preassumptions about avatars. if you were at the time of Krishna/Rama(when the puranas were not composed) will u accept that krishna/rama is an avatar? or would you say that they are some maha purusha but not the Purushottama? so if it is not said in some scripts about an avatar, you cant believe right? after some days, a new script may be prepared for Sree SaiBaba too. then the Sai devotees may come and say that only sai is god. Also, the more ignorant devotees(like you) may also denounce the upcoming avatars also.(the same way you do)
  22. "..Krishna asked arjun to kill men brutally with arrows. wont they feel pain?.." dont you know that Krishna is a sattwik deity and is free from brutality. the earlier avatars of vishnu also killed liberally. so why blame krishna.it is the nature of Vishnu.
  23. "..Rama and Krishna did not become God. They ARE God. ..." How could we know? is there any proof? cant they also be jivas? "...A jiva can never become Isvara.." your own opinion! i cant follow.you are saying that a jiva with a human body cant be god and at the same time saying that krishna/rama (who were also humans with body) are god! "...You're failing to grasp the final distinction, the one between Jiva and Iswara. .." then i should distinct krishna/rama(jivas) and god(iswara). "...Pancha-bheda is the basis of Hinduism, but most Hindus are not aware of it, hence the confusion..." please quote from where you got this idea? your creative imaginations are appreciable.
  24. your purana link is full of mythical stories surely man-made.all people are not too stupid to be amused by such fairytales even if they came from day-time fantasies of ancient sages. you said: "...Only bigots will keep fighting on who is superior. First pray at the Lord's feet. Once the feet is visible you can look up and see if he is wearing bhasma or pundarika..." yes! it is true. Those who are fighting are not only bigots but fools also. first we have to verify the trueness of these stories.then only we can conclude that these characters really exist.
