  1. << True but how come there are muslim countries where women are allowed not to wear a burkha if they please?..>> "--that is good, and therefore they should give up islam formally because islam does not allow it." Do you know this for a fact..I have spoken to muslim women rights activists..and they say no where in the koran does it say that the woman HAS to wear a burkha..it says that a woman has to dress decently, but nothing about a burkha. It's more of a cultural thing than a religious one. Just like some hindus had manipulated the caste system for their benifit, these muslim clerics have manipulated islam to control other people. Thats what a lot of muslims tell me. --"I said << --"and Xianity does not mind if women roam almost naked" >> because that is what i see in the xian countries. no church pastor has advised any better than that." Yes but that does not mean Xianity promotes nudity, it means that most people in the west have abandonned Xinaity and only pay lip service to it. ---"if a hindu voluntarily want to convert, then he or his parents or hindu society in general failed to help him realise what hinduism really is. besides there always will be some fools. they should be sent to live in pakistan" I am not a big fan of islam myself, but that means india would become a religious country. If we have total confidence in what hinduism is about then we have nothing to fear from any other religion. The problem is that most hindus don't know hinduism....thats why they convert. If all indians read the vedas and knew hinduism....then we would have nothing to fear from other religions..we could let the Xtian missionaries in and have total confidence tthat they would be unsuccesfull ..rather than prevent them from comming in.
  2. "Islam does not want woman to be seen out of burkha" True but how come there are muslim countries where women are allowed not to wear a burkha if they please?..ofcourse some do choose to wear it out of their own free will..that is different to name a few: Turkey, Lebanon,Morroco,Malaysia,Jordan. --"and Xianity does not mind if women roam almost naked" Do you have any quotes from the bible or X-tian clerics to prove this or are you just generalizing and stereotyping?? "i. Convince the Muslims of India to given up Islam if they want to live in India" I agree with you that it was an invaded religion, and has no relation to ours whatsoever, but what if a hindu voluntarily wants to convert..then what do you propose??
  3. I was wondering that if the vedic scientists were able to build vimanas are varoius other scientific inventions, how come they always used horse drawn chariots into war....how come they didn't have any kiind of automobile. And if kirhsna stood for ahimsa..how come he allowed people to use horses in battle where they might have gotten severely injured due to no fault of their own.
  4. Yes I agree look at this website http://www.ufoevidence.org/documents/doc107.htm
  5. If the indian government puts resources into finding the city of dwarka,I'm sure it can do so. What astonishes me is their lack of enthusiasm on this part. Look at the egyptians, despite being muslims they still put a lot of money and effort into their "pagan" history, yet we being hindus don't put that much effort into our own hindu history. Secondly it seems that the nasa pictures of the india lank bridge is not a bridge after all.. http://www.punjabilok.com/science/nasa_debunks.htm
  6. ....The Spanish crusaders thought they were doing them a favor and pleasing God by converting some of them into Christianity but in actual fact they have sinned against God by doing so and that is why Spain suffered under the Islamic rule. It is their karma to be born into trible group and when thier cycle is over they would go back to him. It is not for us to decide into which religion they should be. If God wanted he would have not created such tribes but as the law of karma works in mistries ways it has to be so. Who are we to decide who should be what and where?.. Could there have been any bad karma in the past due to which india suffered the barbarian invasion of islam just like spain did??
  7. Heres a good website that gives an account of tajmahal being a hindu temple... http://www.hindunet.org/hindu_history/modern/taj_oak.html
  8. "But it is never too late coz the Talibans in Afghanistan blew up the 1000 years old Buddha's statue. To teach the barbarians you must become one. The question now is who will initiate the move in India?" First of all it is very unfortuante what the muslim invaders did to india, that is truly barbaric, but you are asuming that all afghan muslims supported the destruction of budha's statue..thats stereotyping. I know many afghans who were very saddened by the destruction of their statues. Infact the people who took care of the budhist statues for so long were afghan muslims. Secondly the taliban were mostly arabs and pakistanis..only a handful of afghans supported the taliban. INfact they had more support in pakistan than in afghanistan. Look at the egyptians, how they take care of their history and heritage...even though its pagan to them.
  9. ....The Spanish crusaders thought they were doing them a favor and pleasing God by converting some of them into Christianity but in actual fact they have sinned against God by doing so and that is why Spain suffered under the Islamic rule. It is their karma to be born into trible group and when thier cycle is over they would go back to him. It is not for us to decide into which religion they should be. If God wanted he would have not created such tribes but as the law of karma works in mistries ways it has to be so. Who are we to decide who should be what and where?.. Could there be a possibility that it was also some of the tribal peoples karma to have been converted by the spanish conquistadors?? Secondly are you saying that if we see someone doing something wrong ..we shouldn't say anything to that person since its their karma do do that?? So if you notice that your child is doing something wrong, won't you correct him/her?? or would you say its his/her karma to commit sinful acts?
  10. We believe that we have to suffer karma for our actions...do our intentions for those actions ever make a difference? Does god make a difference based on intentions and knowledge? How about some of the isolated tribes all over the world such as the amazon...a lot of people lead a sinful life according to hindu standards. But a lot of them don't know any better, they are brought up that way..is that fact considered by god at all? In other words. Does god differentiate between someone who commits sinful acts unkowingly and another who leads a sinful act despite having known the truth?
  11. One of my chrisitan friends asked me this question about hinduism...any suggestions?
  12. Yes I agree, I don't hate chrisitans or look down on them in any way but they have to stop these conversions. The reason they convert is because they look down up on other religions. I don't blame some of the ministers either because they have been brainwashed..thats the way they have been brought up. The reason is that when christianity was formed they were sorrounded by people who wanted to presecute and torture them for their beliefs, thats why they needed a way to preserve their belief against these hostile forces. But hinduism never had this problem untill now. Another way to stop this conversion is to educate the so calle dhindus about real hinduism...once they know about the real hindusim they wouldn't want to convert to any other religion..but the problem is that a lot of indians don't know much about hinduism and can be easliy converted by certain ministries.
  13. I do agree that we have to stop false prophets, but as far as preaching hinduism goes we all do it to some extent. Think about it, how could you have ever found out about hinduism unless you were exposed to it as a child. If no one had ever told you about it you would have have been in the dark and so would we all. Imagine hinduism had been in the hands of a few swamis who had refused to spread the word to the rest of the people...none of us would be here discussing about hinduism. Now on the other hand I am in no way suggesting that we should market our religion the way many christians have done on tv..that would be against hinduism, but there are many people there in the dark who need help and don't know how to get it. For eg. If i get rejected by 10 people but if even one persons life is changed because of me telling him/her about hinduism ..i'll feel like i have accomplished something.
  14. Finally I got a username. Yes I agree with you all the way madhav. Thats why I disagree with people who say never to preach about god to people who are not interested. Thats how a lot of people got ignorant in the first place. A lot of yogis were keeping their knowledge to themselves..like you said "selfish yogis". These selfish yogis are one of the reason that led to hinduisms decline. Secondly,I don't care what people say..we should never look down upon other people. Some brahmins..(especailly during the middle ages) would look down upon the dalits or untouchables...thats how the caste system became based on race rather than based on profession. God never looks down upon us..he always has compassion for everyone....if he the almighty cares about everyone ..who are the brahmins to look down upon the dalits. Instead we should try and uplift them..we should try and uplift society in general and help everyone..instead of ostracizing and alienating them. That will only generate more hate.
