I agree with you. Unless hindus learn about their past and learn abou their religion nothing can be acheived. The revival of hinduism among hindus is much much more important than tackling islam. Once hinduism is revived ampng hindus islam can be easily defeated...but trying to defeat islam without trying to revive hinduism among hindus is a total waste of time. Sending soldiers(hindus) into the battle field without any arms or equipment ( the true knowledge of hinduism) is a waste of time...the enemy will find it easy to slaughter them...but once you arm the hindus with hinduism then it is so much easier to defeat the enemy. Thats why it is important to first teach the hindus about hinduism second tackle islam....not the other way round. I agree with you , you cannot artificially build pride and love for hinduism...it only comes from the study of scriptures and the knowledge of hinduism. During the times of ramayan and mahabharata....hindu sages and sadhus through intense tapsya gained enormous spiritual strength and they could defeat armies of asuras...unfortunately we don't have hindus like that anymore because of kali yuga..if there were hindus like that asuras would not have a chance.....so we have to strengthen the hindus first before tackling the asuras...of course this is difficult to do in practice as a lot of hindus eat meat and drink alchohol...and that is not the fault of the muslims...it is our own fault.

At present the usa has enough nuclear weapons to blow the entire world 200 times over, yet they are developing nuclear weapons at a faster rate than any other country in the world...iran, iraq, n-korea put together... Yes hindus just think about dharma..because in this life you can be a fair skinned northerner, in your next life you could be an african or chinese...your atman has no race. Also the mentality of most hindus is that the mahabharata is nothing but mythology. Look up any website, or any indian history book or ask any proffesor about the golden age of indian history and they all say the same thing; the gupta dynasty is the golden age of indian history...the gupta dynasty existed around 270-325 AD..now according to the mahabharata this falls under kali yuga..the age of decline...yet most indian historians and books talk abou tthis as the golden age. Now i have no doubt that the during the gupta age...india was doing well, but by no means was it the golden age of indian history.. Look up any website or book on indian history they always have 2-3 pages on the mahabharata and ramayana era....and a 100 pages on mediaval india..why is that??? Everyone seems to concentrate on the age of ashoka and gupta(which as I have said before was a good era for india but not a golden one) and forgets about ancient india(ramayana and mahabharata)...thats the kali yuga mentality. Our ancient hisotry holds the key all our problems not our mediaval history. I personally think india was way more advanced(scientifically as well as spirituality) during the mahabharata and ramayana era than the gupta or ashoka era..Most so called academics trained along western lines of education(which are the majority in india now) don't share this same view. Our own people have abandonned our ideology and past...the british also played a role..they really suceeded in infiltrating the indian education system and spreading false information about our history to our own people.

The question should not be how to defeat islam, but how to revive hinduism. If all the hindus knew what their religion was and what it really meant, the threat from islam and conversion to xniaty would be greatly reduced. Most hindus laugh and their own religion is that islams or xniaty's fault..NO..its the hindus own fault and unless we realize this I am sorry to say hinduism is on the decline. Defeating extremism is islam and xniaty is good, BUT it will IN NO WAY bring back the so called hindus to hinduism. Hindus always compain about how other religions have attacked hinduism which is true upto a very great degree but hindusim was already on a decline when the muslim invaders got to india. Who was responsible for that decline?? After krishna left this earth the downfall of hinduism started. I found this question on a website....can anyone answer this? What does it mean to say that the Self or God is free? Does He have free will? Free will implies multiple options and freedom to choose. Does He have several options? Why does He choose one of them? In that case is He so ignorant of the future to have to choose from his options? What governs His choice? Nature or Prakriti? Is He a slave to His Nature? What desire makes Him choose? If He is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent, why does He have to have options, choices, freedom to choose or not to choose? Why? why? why? Does it not all add up to saying that such a God is a bundle of contradictions?

Yea dubai is one of the more liberal muslim countries, it's not as liberal as india or usa though..you can't chant hare krishna down the street, but yea you can have a temple. I spent many years in a middle eastern country too, we had a krishna temple there but it was out of the way. They allowed us foreigners to practice our beleif but in a extreemely muted way and as long as we kept it behind closed doors it was fine, but if we became a bit open about it they would threaten to shut us down.

I agree with madahv on certain issues, and with barney on other ones but look at it this way before we begin to talk about anti-hindu elemnets like X-tians and Muslims we must teach real hinduism to hindus first. Most hindus have forgotten about hinduism themselves and have never read the vedas. Thats a more important problem to tackle than the anti-hindu elements, although I do agree that Muslims and X-tians are more anti-hindu than parsis,sikhs, budhist or jains. You never see them trying to convert hindus or kill hindus. But on the other hand banning Xtianity will not help, because like someone pointed out before hinduism is permitted in many x-tian countries although hindus in those countries don't try aggressively to convert xtains to hindus. From 1843 to 1846 10,000 Assyrian Christians including women and children were massacred by the Muslims. From 1915 to 1918 750,000 Assyrians were killed in the name of Islamic Jihad. Who condemns them for it?? no one. Secondly iraq, america bombed the hell out of iraq killing more than 3000 civilians for what? No weapons of mass destruction either. The isreali army kills palestinian babies on a daily basis, no news organization reports it only when a suicide bomber kills israelis do we hear about it. THe media is biased, I have "christian" palestinian friends who hate the israeli govt for what they are doing. Israeli army bulldozes houses of palestinian farmers on a daily basis, you only hear about that in the arab press no one else reports it.
