Maya has been created simply to blind the people who wish to be blinded from the fact that they are not masters, but servants to the Lord. And as Lord Krsna is absolutely merciful, He gives them the option to feel like they are masters. But there is only one true Master, and that is Lord Krsna. Therefore, existance of Maya is simply The Lord's mercy.

To me, the only thing that the uplisted verse from SBG states is a thing that was "re-discovered" in the 20th century by Albert Einstein. Relativity theory. From the standpoint of relativity theory, it doesn't make any difference if you say that the train is moving on the railroad or if you say that the railroad is moving under a train. Same goes for Earth and Sun. Haribol!

Ignorant people and fools can find anything written in any text, if they want to. Same goes for finding hidden messages in music if you play it backwards. They're all rascals, who claim of hidden messages in the bible. If God wanted to give them knowledge, why would He hide it in unrecognizable and undecyphrable forms ? Haribol!

in "The Path Of Perfection" it says nicely in one of the chapters: (Note, this is not taken from original English version) "Okay, if you wish to eat meat, worship goddess Kali and offer her meat by sacrificing a goat. Only afterwards you can eat meat. But do not eat meat that you buy in a butcher's store. You must respect the boundaries set for sacrifices. You need to sacrifice the goat to Kali on a specific day and utilize specific tools. A puja of this kind is only allowed on the night of a dark moon, once a month. Also, with sacrificing the goat, one must chant special mantras. The goat is told: "You sacrifice your life before goddess Kali, therefore you'll instantly proceed to human form." But the mantra also says: "You have a right to kill a human that sacrifices you." Now you should ask yourself "Why am I eating meat? Why am I doing this ? In my next life, I'll have to pay it with my own meat." And the purpose of all this is to revert humans from eating meat." Haribol!

Identifying oneself as 'Hindu' or 'Muslim' or 'Indian' or 'American' on the basis of identifying yourself with the physical body that you occupy proves your being caught up in mäyä... Only when one truly understands the Absolute Truth, he realizes that he is infact a spiritual, Krishna-conscious entity. Haribol!

Srila Prabhupada Himself has once said, that people who call themselves English, American, Indian, Muslim, Christian or Hindu, are bound by mäyä... From the top of my head, i cannot remember the entire list of what you'd call 'accepted scriptures', but check http://www.krishna.com/e-books/ Also, scriptures saying that the earth is a turtle, or that earth is flat or some other nonsense down the same lines, were written by people. The 'accepted scriptures' are pure transcendental knowledge, given to humans by the Lord Himself. Haribol!

I've had a weird dream last night, I was in one of the NYC temples (where Sri Sri Radha-Govinda is iirc), attending an evening program, when I've heard a weird sound outside. I stepped out the front door into a desert, and a black-skinned, 6-armed deity was standing there, sword in each hand, and said to me "I have unleashed all the destructive power of the universe. I have now become the destroyer of the world." Quite confusing.. And the line is iirc from Mahabharata, but a bit different .. Haribol!

I've looked into getting a serving tray like the ones we have at the temple, but a problem has arisen that they are impossible to acquire here, and the only advice i was given "if some of your friends go to india, you can ask them to get one for you". (The ones at the temple, of course, are not available) I've browsed the web a bit but all that I've found were round, yet i wish to find a square one, with divided sections, that looks roughly like this : So, if anyone can give me any useful advice, I would be most grateful! There's a lovely poster in our temple store, it says in huge letters "Bhagavad-Gita - The Greatest Dialogue Ever" and depicts image of Krsna being the chariot driver for Arjune on the battlefield of Kuruksetra war. Bhagavad-Gita comes from Lord Krsna directly. Therefore, the Eternal God (who in Christianity is called 'Jahve', the one who exists) has given mankind His exact desires.

Child, I cannot see why you insist on wasting your time with these posts. Is it because you question the strength of your faith? A true devotee, serving Lord Krsna, will not be turned away by your attempts of diminishing everything. Remember that, after all, you also were created by Lord Krsna, and you cannot undermine Him. Not to mention that the four Vedas have existed for way longer than any record of Christianity. Haribol!

"You say Maha-Maya, is it Maha-Maya or Yoga-Maya." Maha-Maya is the supreme Maya that covers us while we exist in this material world. Yoga-Maya covers the spiritual existance, even Lord Krsna himself, as He enjoys His transcendental pastimes in spiritual universe. Lord Krsna is absolute, He knows what has happened, and He knows what will happen. So you may ask yourself: "If Lord Krsna knows everything, how can He have a pastime/party when everything that will happen, He already knows?" That is the reason why there is such thing as Yoga-Maya. Yoga-Maya covers the bhaktas and Lord Krsna in the spiritual universe, keeping them in ignorance of presence of Lord Krsna. Even Lord Krsna knows not of Himself. (I apologize if the top post doesn't make much sense, but we had a lecture at the temple on this on Sunday, and my notes are kinda messy. Allow me more time, and I will elaborate the matter more thoroughly) Haribol!

Personally, I wouldn't have done this. The whole point of japa-meditation is to concentrate fully on the Lord Krsna, to submerse yourself fully in His Holy Names. Haribol!

I've heard another version of how Lord Caitanya disappeared. (though it might've been the deal of mis-translations by śudras) I read in a book written by one of the devotees, that Lord Caitanya, at a point before his disappearance, jumped into the Panca-Tattva of some temple and *poof* disappeared. "Utilizing technology is a form of material dependence, which is strictly against the beliefs of the movement." As I see it (and I had similar themed discussions with devotees from the local temple), using technology for personal material gain would've been material dependence, but using it to work for spreading Krsna-consciousness, it is not. Giving up material posessions does *not* mean not using anything material around us, for we are not able to leave the material world or loosen the grip of maha-maya without being granted so by Lord Krsna. Utilizing maha-maya so that it works for your cause of spreading Krsna-consciousness, however, is not work for personal material gain and as such transcends material existance. At least, this is the conclusion I reached after a discussion with one of the devotees from a local temple. Haribol!
