According the manufacturer Miracle Gro contains potassium, phosphorus, boron, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum and zinc. This looks like natural minerals but how they produce for example phosphorus? If they use animal waste (what they will never put open) like bones which contains a lot of phosporus it's surely offensive to use for Tulasi. Another disadvantage comes from the fact that these quick to dissolve nutrients are also quick to leave the soil and thus must be applied frequently, usually every 2 weeks. In fact the soil is disabled to store water anymore, water just runs through the soil very fast. So those who are interested in sense pleasure, they are called asuras, and those who are interested in unending spiritual pleasure, they are called devatas. Devata and asura does not mean that asuras are very ugly and devatas are very beautiful. Even the ugly man can become a devata, or even a beautiful man may become asura. That is due to his mentality. Because, after all, the soul is pure. When he is in unnatural condition of life, wants to enjoy simply the material senses, he becomes asura. So asura can be turned into devata. Dear Mr Kumar, thanks for your kind post, indeed, present material advancement of human society is as such that there would be actually no more suffering in this world if the leaders of all the nations would adopt bhagavat-dharma or God-consciousness in their daily lives. Since Krishna is unlimited He can also provide everything unlimitedly whatever human society requires to live happily and peacefully. Whenever we notice scarcity it should be clear it is only scarcity in our knowledge, love and faith in Krishna and never in God's inability to provide for everything within His own creation. Vaishnava forums surely have the power to create worldwide communities with the goal to eliminate ignorance of Krishna's position as our eternal Father and give prosperity and opulence to all His children, materially and spiritually. This story how Srila Prabhupada didnt want to hear more details cant be true either. When a sannyasi would ask what to do when fallen down, Srila Prabhupada wouldnt have him left without listening to everything what he said: "re-engage in devotional service is enough for atonement". Btw, did they leave Visnujana's body in the Ganga? Is this possible, that those sadhus left a dead body of a devotee in the Ganga?

"Visnujana's Disappearance" This is the story of Visnujana Swami's disappearance from this material world, back to Godhead. I have talked to witnesses that heard and saw some of the things that led up to Visnujana's alleged suicide. Visnujana Maharaja was a very advanced sanyasi and he enlivened living entities moving and non-moving all over America and beyond. Before Visnujana joined the Hare Krishna Movement back in the 60's he had separated from his wife and daughter. He talked to them at the 1975 San Francisco Rathayatra for about an hour. Visnujana heard that it was considered a 'falldown' for him to talk to his ex-wife since he was a sanyasi. Although I'm sure Visnujana was pure in his intentions; he still felt guilty as charged. This bothered him for quite some time. He came to India for the 1976 Goura-pournima festival. Visnujana Swami approached Srila Prabhupada who was walking on his rooftop and asked him what a sanyasi should do if he 'falls down'. Srila Prabhupada answered that like Chota Haridas he should commit suicide. There were quite a few devotees crowded around Srila Prabhupada as he walked. Srila Prabhupada hesitated for a moment and continued; but in this age the atonement is to just re-engage in devotional service. Visnujana Swami didn't hear this part. He thought Srila Prabhupada had already answered his question and he faded to the back of the crowd. That night Visnujana disappeared. He went to where Chota Haridas, from Chaitanya lila, committed suicide at Prayag and paid a few sadhus to help him with the ultimate sacrifice. They chanted special mantras so that he would not talk a 'ghost body.' Then rocks were tied to his cloth and he jumped off the boat into the Holy Waters. The Sadhus went to the New Delhi temple and told them about the 'white sanyasi' and what had happened. As the news spread around the world we were/are all deeply saddened by the event. "Srila Prabhupada's Reaction" Srila Prabhupada was sitting in his new quarters in Bombay when Tamal Krsna Maharaja entered. He began to tell Srila Prabhupada about the disappearance of Visnujana Maharaja. TKG said that Visnujana had not applied for a new passport to leave India and he was sure the 'white sanyasi' that the sadhus who went to the Delhi temple, talked about was Visnujana Maharaja. At this point Srila Prabhupada appeared to weep. He turned his head and gazed out the window. He said, "He did not have to do that". TKG asked if Srila Prabhupada knew where Visnujana was. Srila Prabhupada said, "Visnujana was very advanced; he's still chanting Hare Krishna. He's very advanced"! It was obvious that Srila Prabhupada did not want to talk about it anymore as he tearfully gazed out the window. About two weeks later Srila Prabhupada told us that Visnujana was chanting to him in his dreams. (Just like Chota Haridas who chanted for Lord Chaitanya.) I felt good hearing this from Srila Prabhupada. Later I also had a dream about Visnujana. I was following him up a mountain trail when he stopped and turned to me and told me to wait. He said I was not ready to go yet. I stood and watched as my first spiritual mentor disappeared up the trail like Maharaja Yudthistira.For Visnujana; Jayananda and then Srila Prabhupada to leave the planet was a great loss for all of us. According to a Muslim chronicle, the mosque of Benares was built by the Mughal Emperor Alamgir Aurangzeb on the site of Bisheshwar Temple. That temple was very high and held as holy among Hindus. On this very site and with those very stones he constructed a lofty mosque, and its ancient stones were rearranged after being embedded in the walls of the mosque. It is one of the renowned mosques of Hindustan. A non-saffron and secular Christian evangelist called Mathew Atmore Sherring wrote Benares, The Sacred City Of The Hindus which was published in 1868. He belonged to the London Missionary Society. He wrote: If there is one circumstance respecting the Mohammedan period which Hindus remember better than another, it is the insulting pride of the Musalmans, the outrages which they perpetrated upon their religious convictions, and the extensive damage of their temples and shrines in Benares. It is right that Europeans should clearly understand that this spirit of Mohammedanism is unchangeable, and that, if by any mischance, India should again come into the possession of men of this violent creed, all the churches and colleges and all the mission institutions would not be worth a week's purchase. The ISKCON Temple in Moscow was functional from 1989 till June 2004 when it was moved to a new location in the city, with the consent of the Temple authorities. Subsequently, the Moscow Prosecutor General’s Office issued a ruling that the relocation order for the ISKCON Temple was not legal. It is understood that ISKCON representatives are working with the Moscow City Government to find a solution to their property related issue. The matter was taken up by the Government with the Russian authorities and consequently, it has been referred to the Moscow City Government. The Minister added that promotion of Indian culture and development of cultural interaction with the host country is an integral part of the activities of all Indian Missions abroad. The Government recognises the importance of cultural diplomacy in the attainment of India’s foreign policy objectives. It shall be the endeavour of the Government to further strengthen and expand the infrastructure and activities of Indian Cultural Centres abroad. Shri Sharma further informed that the Indian Council for Cultural Relations has established 18 cultural centres and 2 sub-centres for the promotion of Indian culture abroad. Exclusion of Holy Cows from Alleghany Village BY: JYOTIRMOY DATTA /images/graemlins/smile.gif The Voiths, with calves Radhe and Shyama Feb 16, ANGELICA, NY (DESI TALK) — Hidden from the outside world by the Alleghany Mountains, the picturesque Village of Angelica in western New York is the scene of a test of American's traditional religious tolerance, a test reminiscent of the earlier struggles of religious groups such as the Amish, the Mormons and Jehova's Witnesses to find a place in the nation's multifaith quilt. Elevations range to over 2,000 feet in the hills that surround Angelica and feed a stream that makes its way past the village to the nearby Genesee River. Attracted by its charms, American Hindu couple Linda and Stephen Voith chose to make it their home, complete with their children and their hooved family members - the cows, Chintamani, Radhe, Shyam, et al, named after characters of Hindu song and legend. Stephen and Linda Voith and their children are followers of the Bhakti Hindu Tradition brought to America by AC Bhaktivedanta Swami, Prabhupada in 1965. Srila Prabhupada instructed his followers to find ways and means to inaugurate the Hindu tradition of protecting cows in America, because without protection of the cow, Brahminical culture cannot be maintained. Their neighbors, however, were taken aback by their treatment of the animals, whom the Voiths treated as if they were on the same footing as humans. The Village got an injunction expelling Chintamani and her brood from Angelica. The family's attorney, Ross Scott, told Desi Talk that the Voiths were denied Due Process and their right to a fair trial in 2003 when State Supreme Court Judge Michael Nenno refused to allow them to raise a First Amendment defense and dismissed the family's counterclaims against the Village for deprivation of religious rights. Scott, 68, an attorney who had worked for the government as a defense analyst till his retirement 11 years ago, said that he was appearing for the Voiths pro bono because he felt that the values that he had helped to defend from foreign enemies were at risk from insidious enemies at home. The judge did not allow even the mention of the word religion at the hearing on May 2 and 7, 2003. Judge Nenno said "if he heard one word about religion, he will hold be in contempt of court." "The Village of Angelica has no objection to the Amish going through the town on their buggies, or tying up their horses and stopping, but the Voiths were harassed for their oxen cart crossing a 10-foot lane," Scott said. "The former mayor, among others, seemed intent on running the Voiths out of the village for just their odd way of treating their animals." His main brief had been filed on Dec. 16, the Village brief on Dec. 20, and his answering brief has tobe filed by Jan. 25. The opening oral hearing was set for April 3. He was convinced of winning the appeal because the Voiths were "well within the local law which says that if your property comprises 10 acres or more, you can have as many farm animals as you like." The Voiths, however, were regarding their appeal as a return to battle for their religious rights, not just a reassertion of their compliance with local laws. "We are trying to show an example of a simple Vedic lifestyle centering on nonviolence and the sanctity of all life," Linda Voith, told Desi Talk. "Our practices are meant to show a humane, responsible example of cow protection." "The Village allows a beef farm to operate right across the street from our home," says Steven Voith, "If they allow cows for secular reasons within the Village, they should allow religiously revered cows too." And I’ve been close to them for more than twenty years, since the days when we first computerized our typesetting. They save lots of work, and make the impossible possible. But they’re dangerous, devilish machines, and we use them at our peril. I’m not talking about low-level radiation, or the computer’s role in weapons of mass destruction. What I have in mind is its role in mass distraction. Here I am with a short human lifetime, and somehow, by good fortune, I’ve discovered it’s meant for spiritual realization. But for spiritual perfection one needs to focus tightly. One has to mold one’s life in such a way that one constantly remembers the Supreme, or Krishna. In the present age, therefore, the Vedic sages have recommended we focus our minds on the Absolute, on Krishna, through the chanting of transcendental sound, as found in the Hare Krishna mantra: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. As soon as we say “Krishna,” we’re at once in touch with Krishna, so meditation becomes very easy. We can chant Hare Krishna, talk about Krishna, hear about Krishna, remember Krishna, serve Krishna. And in this way we can absorb ourselves in Krishna consciousness and attain the perfection of life. But Maya says no—Maya, “the illusory energy,” the force whose job it is to distract us from what’s real and enchant us with what’s false, to draw us away from spirit and keep our eyes on matter. “Here,” she says, “have a computer.” And a wonderful thing it is. You can calculate, simulate, innovate, communicate. The French were perhaps the first to discover you can even use it to fornicate. (When France got its homes all wired up with the Minitel, a little box that tells you train schedules, checks your bank account, and whatnot, the clever French soon found more colorful uses—they came up with “la messagerie rose,” a sort of online brothel.) But even apart from la messagerie rose, the computer is an invitation to illusion. The Vedic sages say the main illusions we get hooked on are two: “I am the enjoyer” and “I am the controller.” And for being the controller, the computer is great. You give it instructions, commands. You figure out how to make it do things. You point and click. And soon, as with the television, as with the car, you think you’ve got a computer, but in fact the computer has you. Soon our minds are there, deep in silicon, preoccupied with chip speed, disk drives, memory, modems, operating systems, applications, upgrades, viruses, bugs. We meet with our friends and talk hardware, software. And what happened to spiritual realization? What happened to Krishna? Forgotten. For hours at a time, days at a time, entire lifetimes … Computers are great—like everything material, we can use them for Krishna. Then they have spiritual value. But as with everything material, we should use them with constant mindfulness of Krishna, or we’ll end up used by Maya. We need to stay focused undistractedly on Krishna, the ultimate goal of life. At the end of life, our computer won’t save us. Krishna will.
