  1. Oh man, Christian Science is BAD times. How in the Holy name can anyone practice spirituality with any kind of calmness if they are constantly in horrible physical pain? If you get your leg cut off you don't say "oh God will heal this for me, I don't have to worry about it" you go to a hospital. Why cut your life short when you could have use so many more years to try to spread Krishna consciousness.
  2. Well I have no idea who this Emma Curtis Hopkins person is, but if she teaches Krishna Consciousness than great. I just wanted to say that religion is religion, it means nothing if there is no connection to God. Krishna Consciousness is pure and perfect in its 100% real form, and it is only our selfish foolish egos that makes us think it isn't perfect. Hare Krishna
  3. Good analogy, just trust in Krishna and He will show you the way.
  4. I don't know if there are any Hare Krishnas in Hollywood off hand, but I was just thinking about this the other day. You know how Mel Gibson made the Passion Of The Christ movie. Do you think there would ever be a movie about Krishna's life on such a big level as The Passion was? and do you think it would do good or bad for our movement?
  5. Or.. if you can't find a comfortable place to sit or find your mind racing you can get up and walk around whilst chanting Krishna's Holy Names. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
  6. Happy new year everyone! may it be a good one for all of us, spiritually and otherwise. Hare Krishna
  7. Lord Krishna came to earth later as Lord Chitanya Mahaprabhu and He in that form instructed humanity the best way to liberation, chanting the Holy Names.
  8. I just wanted to wish everyone that reads this board a nice holiday season, and may Krishna grant you all the mercy to not get caught up in the materialism of this time of year in the Western World. Keep safe everyone. Hare Krishna
  9. I want to try to better understand Radha so I can be closer to Krishna. Hare Krishna
  10. It's a destructive cult that should have never been considered a religion. They base their "truths" on no real facts what so ever. The "religion" was made up by Hubbard in the 60's(I think) just as a means of making MONEY, it is a horrible cult. My mom's cousin got involved with them and his father was never able to find him again. /images/graemlins/frown.gif
  11. Oh, for some reason I thought this thread would be about the evils of downloading music... weird. I've downloaded like 100 Shelter songs in the past few months...
  12. So I've been kicking the idea around for a long time now. To make a metal band along the lines of Stratovarius / Blind Guardian but with Krishna Conscious lyrics. I like Shelter and 108 and all that but hardcore music doesn't really run in my veins like EuroMetal does. Anyway if anyone plays: drums, keyboard, vocals(and can actually sing, preferably a unique Power Metal type voice) you can contact me at the following address: spacechild2@hotmail.com Hare Krishna
  13. And if I may ask, is it ok that I wear mjollnir (hammer of Thor) around my neck? more as a cultural than religious symbol I mean.
  14. Thank you for those verses and explanations, you've put me at ease. Hare Krishna
  15. Then why do I feel so far away from him? /images/graemlins/frown.gif
  16. Norse/west Europeans had a deep faith in the old Germanic gods. Manifested in the forms of Odin, Thor, Freyja, Tyr, etc. To the point where the warriors simply cared the rune of Tyr (a great war-god in the myths) and considered themselves invincible. Now if Europeans come from India or not isn't the issue here. Unfortunately due to the Christian invasions of Europe a lot of the old religions were lost, and it didn't help that Christians spawned the viking age and gave the old ways of the people a bad name. But for the most part they were very peaceful and well balanced. The real conflict of interests is in that the old religions of Europe are all polytheistic in nature. But looking at the similarities of the Ragnarök and Kali Yuga you'd be shocked.
  17. Zeus, Odin, the European gods. Just give me your opinion on them and the European religions.
  18. Maybe fyers or something, but I haven't ever heard of someone just giving away free Gitas or anything. LOL it costs money to get them so it's no surprise people will ask for a donation of some kind when they are distributing them. Hare Krishna
  19. Of course, I should hope everyone here realizes that Krishna is not a "Hindu god" He is the Supreme Truth, it's really as simple as that if you have faith. Also like you seem to have explained nicely on your own sudipkumar the very word "Hindu" is pretty much nonsense, and to name all the Vedic literatures "Hindu" was and is a slap in the face to these Holy books. It tries to somehow pigeonhole them into being only for East Indian people when in reality these were and are books for all HUMANITY, not just Indian humans, Asian humans, but everyone. You seem to understand well that Lord Krishna is in everything, and cannot be understood by our simple minds an inch if we do not surrender unto Him, take shelter of Him. Hare Krishna
  20. Coming Back: The Science Of Reincarnation page. 129; 7. Krishna conscious persons should not engage in illicit sex, i.e. sex outside of marriage or sex not for the purpose of conceiving a child. It should also be noted that abortion carries a special karmic reaction -- those who participate in killing unborn children may be placed in the womb of a mother who chooses abortion and themselves be slaughtered in the same horrible way. But if one agrees to no longer commit such sinful acts, one can become freed from karmic reaction by in-offensive devotional chanting of the holy names of God.
  21. Argh I thought it was in the Science Of Reincarnation but I can't find it now. I know if an animal is killed before it's natural death then it comes back as the same animal until it finishes its meant number of days in that type of animal body. But I'm not sure if the same can be said of humans who are killed, and killed while still in the womb none the less.
  22. The only difference is onions and garlic don't make you spaz out like coffee and Coke does.
  23. No why would it? I'll type out the lyrics or something.
  24. Yes, yet another do add to the gigantic pile of KC bands. If the madness doesn't end soon someone will have to make a Krishna only record label! haha. But it's grindcore so that means no one at any given time will have any idea what im screaming or playing, It'll be fun.
