  1. Just as your relationship was growing with BB and Valaya.

Don't worry JR you won't be asked to join the front line neither will Valaya.

But I understand what you are saying about the young some tend to see it as the preceeding generations playing with their future existence, it's a daunting thought that these maniacs if their back is up against the wall, may resort to chemical means or annthrax, ebola etc. Remember they don't play by any book, it's the no rules squad. Not valiant Kings facing off on the battlefield.

In one sense the Rainbow family have their heads in the clouds. But then again that's gotta be better than face down in the mud. As devotees we're taught to have our everything, mind, heart and soul in Vrndavan our only recourse is to remember our sweet Lord in all circumstances, whatever we do. Both choices need to be accepted and respected. If the Ksatriyas are fighting for freedom of choice. That's what the rainbow clan are choosing- peace over war. Personally I don't think anyone can rest in peace untill these destabilizeing influences are eliminated. And War is no peace at all. They haven't been able to do it in the Middle East since Cain and Able. And I don't think America has a magic wand or bullet. Also I don't see anything short of Divine Intervention that will solve this dilemna. It will take a massive call from the whole heart of Humanity for the Lord to intercede. Will it be answered by Balaram with His club, Jesus from a cloud, from Radha with love or Krsna in His Viswa rupa.

I'd say the invisible computers in our hearts right now are recording every souls stand, working overtime to sort the databanks as to what we all give our consensus to. Stay focussed the wave is peaking.

It is certainly a shame that we end up losing the company of old friends when we choose to associate more closely with one group. The same thing has happened in my life. I wonder if we can find ways to minimize this occurence. Any ideas?

The first thing I did when I read your post was scratch my head and that's what I've bin doing for 18 years since I left. They shut the door on us, what can I do prabhu? I see my beloved Master as the Guardian of the whole Gaurdiya families devotion. How can I go where his siksa is not welcome.

The difficulty is this, that with every splinter group under the Gaudiya umbrella everyone claims that anyone is welcome to come to their kirtan, just don't bring your teachings because it may upset the faith of those who are aspiring to follow that line, so how does one separate us from our heart and soul, our master, it is akin to saying to Valaya you can come but don't talk about Radharani. For me Guru Maharaj s' vani is my everything.

I find this kind of attitude really divides us from the rest of the environment. Altho it's suppose to be non-sectarian when you get down to it, it's you do it our way or we don't want you. It's hard enough giving KC to the rest of the world without all these seperate factions broadcasting There's no other way, there's no other way, there's no other way, but ours.

This is my understanding of how harmony and unity prevails From His Divine Grace SSM.

The only origin of fear is lack of harmony. Fear is born through disappointment resulting from lack of harmony. If that does not exist, then there is no place for fear. “Undesirability” is represented in sanskrit as “apprehension” or “fear”, and is regarded as something secondary to the Absolute. But how does it reach and become transformed into perfection? If we can introduce many interests into one common interest then there is harmony, no fear, and all is perfect.

At present we are suffering from the mania of separate interest, only because we have deviated from our common master, our common guardian, have we come to suffer the disease of apprehension. If one master is common to all then no apprehension can arise, we will feel true unity amongst ourselves. If we fall on the ground, then with the help of the same ground we can again stand. So forgetfulness of our guardian is the cause of all the disastrous situations in which we find ourselves. The only way to get out of that disaster is to be reinstated in the idea of common guardianship and that is to be affected by the true sadhus who have not deviated from God-consciousness. With their help we have to appeal to the all-controlling agency, then we can be reinstated in that echelon where we have our master under whose holy feet we are to take shelter. If we can accept this, harmony will again be installed in our lives. So we are always to be conscious of our guardian, the highest harmoniser, and that is true God consciousness.

There's a far reaching reason why Srila Swami Maharaj (Prabhupad) directed all his disciples to Srila Sridhara Maharaj for further guidance and direction and some have caught that, while others just totally reject it, they won't even consider it and this is where you find many differences from Iskcon and others to Paramadwaiti Maharaj, Tripurari Maharaj, Narasingha Maharaj, etc Then we have Ashram Maharaj (mexican) Janardan Maharaj, Giri Maharaj, Sudir Maharaj all strong preachers who have caught SSM's vani from another perspective. It's all in how one hears and acts on the words of our Gurudev and oftentimes we all hear with slight variations. So who can bring them all into the one Kirtan, where there is true affection and respect all round for each others contribution to the centre. Does anyone really want that or would they all just as soon do it their own way and take their followers in that direction with them?

Kindly convey my regards to V.M.Prabhu.

  3. Dandavats to the duelling devotees.

    Dear Maitreya and Brahma Prabhus,

Just flew through your posts here and would like to share a few observations that came to mind regarding adjustment and preservation of the teachings of our acharyyas.

It appears our views and our conditionings often stem from our associations and influence our thinking. I may be wrong but it seems both of your stands are relevant and both can be practiced within the Krsna conscious preaching field for instance, if you take Siddha Swarupananda's presentation and application you will find that he may well have been concerned and sensitive to public perceptions of forceful book distribution, therefore he chose many other means to propagate the holy names, these could well be seen as major adjustments taken to the extreme where at one point the holy names were practically omitted due to being painted with the same brush. In those early days when this experiment was tried I also was in his camp and felt quite embarrassed by the bombastic measures how some Iskcon devotees were pushing Krsna consciousness to the public. Still I was trying to have some respect for the book distribution programme that Prabhupad wished all his disciples to engage in.

Now on the other hand Tripurari Maharaj with his enthusiastic and outfront propagating campaign in his way was no doubt getting books into the homes of many who may never have had a chance otherwise. From what I can see and understand Tripurari Maharaj appears to have followed Prabhupad's instructions more to the letter than making adjustment like Siddha Swarup. But both were generals in those days doing their best to help the suffering animation get some thread of Prabhupad's mercy as we find even up to this day their followers are still out there on the battlefield which is to their credit, at least they haven't left.

I find myself in a mixture of these two applications coming in the line of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math which hasn't compromised the form and still holds the substance at heart. Although Srila Sridhar Maharaj was considered a form breaker, his personal example was non-different from Srila Rupa Goswami, and as Brahma Prabhu would know his adherence to the essence and the core values of our sampradaya were never compromised. It's true as Maitreya has stressed that the Paramahamsas can make adjustments to suit time and circumstance but unless we're on this platform and divinity unquestionably empowers us to do so, it may cause some confusion for the aspiring devotees and the general public. We can see even in so many spiritual persuasions be they Christian or Islamic where the present priests and acharyyas are adjusting and interpreting that causes sheer anarchy and confusion for all.

I left the line of Siddha Swarup to take shelter of Srila Sridhar Maharaj precisely for this reason. Unfortunately I lost many friends in the process of doing this, another sad reflection on the accommodating ability of this Gaudiya family.

Actually mate I think it's like there are always elements in all countries that are envious of anyone that stands tall.

But ever since I got m' first Davey Crockett hat, my two musquets and a set a' the only levis in Oz 45 years back it became hamburger heaven to this young grommet and I had nothing but awe and admiration for the U.S. from then on.

There might have been some perception of infallible arrogance from some nations around the world some time back but i think that has shifted somewhat nowadays.

Yeah I've bin hearing some very moving eulogies, some a' the nicest humanity pouring forth from all nations over the past few days. It's a little hopeful, but how sustained it is remains to be seen. Giving honor softens everyones heart if only they could drop their guard and express what they truly feel more often, instead of letting the pressure build up till it erupts. Why do people wait for a funeral before the good stuff emerges?

Just saw a flash on the other side of the Indian continent in Calcutta of a bunch of very angry Bengalis burning an efigy of Binny.

I don't have the intelligence at my disposal the U.S Gov. has, but I'm not 100% convinced he's the culprit yet (in this one that is) Does anyone have any more solid evidence yet?

  7. This whole event that is now coming to pass is just a more tangible and visible picture of what Srila Bhaktisiddanta Saraswati Thakur declared as the all-out Totalitarian War against Maya. And how each devotee chooses to fight that is their own personal preference. I wish them all victory in conquering the enemy, however they perceive it.

May all obsticles on the battlefield be removed from each souls journey to divinity.

Actually, it is more of an awakening through the agency of His Divine Grace. Believing we are in control leads us to view both ourselves and others in a critical light, since we're thinking how much better we could all do.

There is a great need at this time to unite for the coming battles and this means forging a strong sense of common identity as us vs. them; not the way most of us, as devotees, would prefer to see things. Please do not think that those such as Bhuta-bhavana das are not devotees or acting in anything other than Krsna conciousness. They are simply doing the needful. That is our duty and it must be done right now! No time for questioning our motives or contemplating philosophical points.

Soldiers train for these times and are ready to take charge. While we still have the luxury of communicating together here on these forums, it would be good to bear that in mind and try to understand the seriousness of all this. Firm resolve will be necessary and faith in ourselves as well as each other must be strongly fixed. If that requires vilifying the `enemy`, so be it.

Try to imagine the quality of faith and surrender, however misguided, that those terrorist `martyrs` must have---we must have more! Please know prabhus, though this probably appears overdramatic, that you are my only family at this time and my heart is with you, whatever happens. valaya

Once again I find myself agreeing with Valaya in his perspectives here not that what Leyh is saying doesn't hold Truth. It's just that the overwhelming majority of the world views our predicament has moved from diplomatic and political solutions of these ever-occurring problems to the need for action.

We all, as vaisnavas like peaceful solutions and truly abhorr war and killing, our life is the salvation Army of Sankirtan and if that could be effective in bringing a change to the whole planet we're ready to dance at any given moment, instead of spending billions of dollars and sacrificing lives in the lesser option.

I invite Lord Chaitanya to return if He wishes, to scoop up everyone in his prophesized campaign. But of course once again we may not recognize Him or His preferred medium, but I certainly hope we will by Their Grace.

Before the inevitable at Kuruksetra, Krsna gave so many chances to the deluded demoniac players, still they persisted against perfect council and righteous direction, Krsna could have prevented and harmonized it then, and He can now, and if He excercises divine intervention I'm sure He has the ability to swing every heart on this planet to see His way. Otherwise it will play out accordingly, He is the Supreme Director and we ain't seen nothing at the movies yet. Krsnas glory is usually illuminated against a dark backdrop.Jesus, Krsna, Rama, Even Mahaprabhu to some degree.

Terrorising fanatical crimes appear infinitely worse than those that set the stage for Kuruksetra. We are dealing with absolute insanity these days. What was undressing a chaste women in the days of righteous kings, today is throwing acid into a womens face because she dares to show it. If anything, on the scales of value, there is cause for a war on that single issue alone. What to speak of incinerating thousands of innocent civilians, women, children and loved ones into a pulverrized mass of stinking chemicals in one fell swoop. This is the pits of dispicable cowardness. And it truly should be obliterated from the face of this earth.

I've also become of the mind that there must be a common will and determination to fight this common enemy. Not that I can't see the peaceful solution, on the contrary I've espoused it with all my heart and soul since Viet Nam, in my Guru Maharajs teachings 'to see the environment as friendly'.

We despise war as much as we are sickened by this disease of hatred afflicting these cursed souls who have misused their freewill to the ultimate extreme. Drastic crimes need drastic corrections. I think if I were in one of these corrupted hearts I would be praying to be put out of my misery. And it seems by their apparent lack of a trace of respect for others lives, that that is the death wish they seem to exhibit.

Now to get back to addressing the point that is that there are some souls prepared to literally lay their life on the line so this horror MAY be erradicated. We don't know for certain where it may raise it's ugly head again, but if at least there is a concerted effort to stem its growth in my book (BGita) it sure beats inaction. If we choose not to partake in this course of action like Uddhava that's fine, but I think we should be fully supportive in whatever capacity we have, wishing those well who are prepared to take on this dirty work. And I don't think the people who've taken this job on board need their conviction undermined or erroded considering the beast they are facing. Perhaps tempered with very clear consciousness so that sobriety and certainty are assured in the duty they are called to do. In the words of the bible "Be ye wise as serpents." For the hour is at hand.

Considering the overkill we've wittnessed in the last week your response is goswami prabhu. Even tho i suppose everyone in a sense is a victim I find it hard to see those guys as Martyrs. More like the passengers and people in the two Towers qualify for that distinction.

I just realized The Lord of The Rings. (Inc Two Towers) is due for a timely release shortly. I just saw a preview of it and it looks quite profound.

This was a hurried response please forgive any errors or offence I may have committed.

    Hopefully, your aspiring servant

  10. One can simultaneously fight for (serve) Krsna and the vaisnavas and ones family and ones country at the same time. Some may fight with words in a brahminical spirit others will utilise all their energy in a ksatriya spirit. It is not that one is more noble or honorable than the other. But rather it is the mood of saranagati to Bhagavan that is to be recognised. And then the outcome is all in The Lords hands. I may be wrong but I think everything is in Divine control and the inevitable outcome is a forgone conclusion. How it pans out we will have to wait and see. But not for too long.

  12. Yes it is true I live in OZ, I was born in Sydney where the largest Gay festival on the planet takes place each year 'The Gay Mardi Gras' possibly attracting more people than the Ratha Yatra in India. It is highly organized, extremely disgusting, and lowly decadent not exactly a family outing that you would like to take your children to as it is more like a Babalonian Ball or Fellinis Satiricon that espouses all sorts of sick and depraved activity in the uttmost pomp and pride. Many are delluded by the robust oily bodies undulating on their floats in various unthinkable postures, that these people are celebrating freedom and that somehow they represent a joyous minority movement of humanity, little or misunderstood. But many things are not apparently what they seem in this world. Sadly peoples lives are so empty of real God-centred pleasure that they are ready to join any dance that looks vaguely like the happiness they so desperately are missing out on. Emmersed in intoxication they can't tell the difference between decadence and divinity, so long as it feels good.

So you'll find Ausralia is very Homo tolerant and that one ****ananda is already propagating the same stand you espouse in Sydney.

To be on a Navy ship going into Aden or Cairo is a military blunder. The enemy is not elsewhere, the enemy has successfully infiltrated all segments of amerikan society, so, what to do???? How do we fight an invisible enemy? We need to invoke the power of Vibhisana, the brother of Ravana, who came to Lord Rama's aid to help spot the invisible and invincible enemy Indrajit.

This war is unlike all others. Civilians are the targets, the weaponry is as unsophisticated as a box knife and a bottle of liquid purchased at a hardware store. The military may patrol all they want waiting for the next 757 going the wrong way, but that was just how this war was started, there are many more surprises, many more shock waves to hit the denizens of Kali Yuga.

  14. I tend to see both sides of this debate. i.e.

I like the all-accomodating mood, But it also depends where it leads to if homosexuals are accepted into the fold. If you see some of the sahajiya movements in India that SBST warned against you will see some of this unpalitable persuasion within them, there is a place for them within vaisnavism but not connected to the line of Srila Bhaktisiddanta Saraswati Thakur if they continue to propagate their seperated cause, as it does send a mixed message to the newcomers. But there's nothing new under the sun, India has seen it all, and Bhaktisiddanta Thakur set the foundations for our line, taking everything into consideration for our ultimate good and highest welfare. It's merely a matter of us adjusting to his design.

I find it nessacary to referr to present day acharyas who you can confidently trust, who are in the line of the Rupanuga acharyas, I have personally found Srila B.S. Govinda Maharaj to be a very nice blend of both Srila Sridhar Maharaj And Srila Swami Prabhupad, with his finger on the pulse of modern present day issues but one has to recognize his authority and then accept his verdict on such matters. This is where the difficulty comes in with the western sadhakas, we take what fits in with our thinking and sentiment and reject what does'nt. Whereas if we are truly accepting a person as our Siksha guru their every word is our life and soul, there is no room for speculation, but then if we find contradiction it can make it a little more confusing.

Prabhupad knew of some of his disciples sexual preferences, but I personally feel he would have never condoned homo marriage within the movement. But then maybe Brahma Prabhu is extending Prabhupads mercy further, there's no harm in experimenting if he feels it will bring souls under the banner of Nitai and Gauranga and give others a chance for purification. But my feeling is these sorts of revolutionary changes according to time and circumstance should be kept as his own responsibility and only connected to a line where the previous Acharya is known to agree, then the fruit will speak for itself.

  15. That's the beauty of Deity seva it keeps one focussed in a world of softhearted beauty. Untill Muslims and Christians see you doing it I have various simple straight people visit our house but we have an 'in your face' altar that tends to change the mood somewhat. Unfortunately T.V. is a double edged sword it can occasionally enlighten if utilized correctly but it can also numb you to the core if used otherwise, esspecially powerful in moulding childrens emotions and thinking. As SSM has said "This world is not a fit place for a gentleman or woman to live".
