There is nothing like the bagavat gita. If you read it, read it with a humble state of mind. Also once you have finished reading it, its not the end. Read it again a few months or days later. Everytime you read the gita you learn something more. As krsna says, as you surrender unto me I reward them accordinly. hare krsna everyone. I definatly didnt mean to ruffle any feathers discussing this topic. I have always considered George a devotee despite what he might have done. Heck how do you know that I am ammune to any of the desires and urges that he had. Now, I am glad there are people in the same wavelength as me but I do opologies for causing a lot of stress to people over this post. Man, it was just a light post. I am still wondering how many famous devotees are out there. I am surprised nobody has mentioned Boy Georges's crazy escapades but why only George Harrison. I think a lot of people are envious because krsna consciousness has a lot of support from famous people. George harrison was more of a devotee then I will ever be. Lets not commit Vaisnava Aparadha. Wow, I started this post as a light thing. I didnt mean everyone's blood pressure to rise up and this subject made into something big like this. However I am glad to know where everybody stands. I still love George Harrison and so does "My sweet lord" Anyways I am glad there are devotees out there who appriciate what he has done instead of fault finding with what he should have done according to them. I never mentioned anything about iskcon. However The Sampradaya that Iskcon does belong to is eternel. The Brahma Madhiya Gaudya Sampradaya is handed down by krsna. I am expressing to devotees how I feel. I am not humiliating my wife. I never said my wife was bad. Iskcon is following Caitanya Mahaprabhu's teachings. He is non other then krsna. I know that iskcon doesnt have the only devotees but without iskcon and Srila Prabhupad most people woudnt even have heard of krsna. Srila Prabhupad taught the actual proper way of the vedas. You should read Srila Prabhupads books and I my original post to figure out what I was actually saying. I wasnt posting anything to challenge you weather you know the sastra or not. So why dont we drop this because I was asking devotees who can relate with this subject. My wife knows that I am getting advice from devotees. She loves me as her husband and because I chant Hare Krsna and follow Srila Prabhupads movement. She had the opportunity to marry many people but she chose me because I was sinsere in my dealings with her and she knew that krsna would be the centre of our relationship. Hare Krsna I dont know if any of you remember or saw the episode of Xena where Krsna was there. I thought that was such a cool episode and whoever did that episode had it quite accurate. However from what I remember there was some sort of uproar from the indian community. What was up with that. Let me know what you guys think Hare Krsna Haridham

From what you wrote I could understand that you werent from iskcon. However I do value and appriciate your point. You are right in many ways, however I was talking from a perspective of someone who is the mode of serving krsna and not allowing his spiritual life be destroyed by being with someone materialistic. I was hoping someone who could relate answer this question. My wife chants and such but helping your wife in her spiritual life is a husbands duty. According to the Srimad Bagavatam a person shoudnt become a husband, a wife, father, a mother, a guru or worshipable demigod if he cant liberate his or her dependants. You have a big responsibility in the ashram that your nature has assigned you. You have to keep krsna in the centre. That is my point of you and of our shastra. I didnt get married just to enjoy my wife rather I got married so i can serve krsna with my wife. Hare Krsna Haridham

Hare Krsna everyone. This is everyones favorite poster(I hope)hahhaha Last night I was thinking something regarding my wife and marriage life to someone who is not a devotee. I was thinking that I am missing out on marrying a devotee. When I was a young boy, I always thought i was going to marrry a devotee girl practice my krsna consciousness with her. However that didnt happen as most of you know the story so i wont go into it now. A part of me was kinda sad, what if she doesnt become a devotee, what if we cant agree on things. I wish she would dance like the devotee girls dance in the kirtan and embrace krsna conscioussness and its wonderful lifestyle like many others have done. I feel like I am missing out. Surely I know it is great to make a new devotee. Thats what prabhupad wanted anyway. Frankly I think this is an insult to my wife. I guess I answered my own question but please reply if you like. Actually, George was a devotee. Yes and Paul was prabably weird at every stage of his life. However, I know george was a devotee because he always chanted. He read prabhupads books, he gave Bhaktivedanta manor to the devotees. That was John Lennons house. So it could be John Lennon that gave that I am not sure. Every picture I have seen with George is that of him chanting, and with association of devotees. Many devotees have had close association and dealings with George and know for a fact that he was a devotee. Now you said you heard this and heard that. We dont go by what people heard, rather we go by facts. There were devotees at his bedside when he passed away. Prabhupad had great discussions with George Harrison. WHen George asked for initiation Prabhupad said you are already Initiated, You are Hari's Son. So lets not discredit this great devotee Srimad George Harrison. A devotee is someone who uses everything for krsna's service. Everything is krsna's energy so why cant you use big budget hollywood films for krsna's service. She can use that money that she got in service of krsna. I mean there are series such as Ramayan and Mahabarat which were good for people. So krsna has a plan for everything. My object in this discussion wasnt to put people down but rather find out how many more famous people were devotees. So any other points of view are welcome Hare Krsna

Hare Krsna. I Know George Harrison was a devotee, and I also heard Boy George was a devotee. What about the rest of the beatles, Paul, Ringo and what about John Lennin? Wasnt John kinda weird at the end of his life. What about that singer Stevie wonder? I heard he was favorable. How many more famous devotees are there? There was this girl named Radha Mitchel in a movie called Pitch Black with Vin Diesal a few years ago, was she a devotee? I also heard that George Harrison's son was a devotee. However since the question is how about you haridham Well, I consider myself to be an uneducated spirit soul who some how or other stumbled into the guidence of srila prabhupads movement. I am up for the soccer tournement. We have great soccer stars out there. Why not. Once at our temple, Us iskconb boys were playing basketball and some hindu guys challenged us and we destroyed them. Hare krsna everyone. I just have an interesting question, atleast I think its interesting. ANyways, yes we know that when we accept a guru he helps us go back to godhead. So now I am wondering what happens to the guru and your relationship once you go back to godhead. Is He forgotten? Do you have any responsibility towards him? Or is He dumped after you see krsna. How many of you consider yourselves to be followers of isckon. How many are Prabhupad Disciples. How many are initiated by prabhupad disciples. How many are just guests.
