Dear Krishnaji, I am also going through Rahu mahadasha and as you know it lasts 18 years, a very long time, but the whole of 18 years do not necessarily go bad as often thought of. During any mahadasha of any planet there are sub periods called antar-dashas or simply AD. Even within these sub-periods (AD) there are sub periods called pratyantar-dashas or simply saying PDs. So I am sure that you have some basic understanding of the astrology and the dasha cycle. This is just to give you the clear picture of how it works ane let me tell you that even I am also going through Rahu mahadasha at the moment. Your Rahu mahadasha started on 16/3/2000 (this will end in 2018) if I am correct and right now you are going through Rah/Mer/Mon cycle, this means you are going through Rahu mahadasha-Mercury antardasha-Moon pratyantardasha. This period is still not good for you. So please wait until the Ketu antardasha (AD) starts, but I am not sure when it does. Good times will come back to you. Yes, transits do have effects, but one need to see what dasha were running at that particular time of event, say marriage, accident, business losses etc. This is very generalised to say that whenever Rahu passes through the 8th house from Jupiter in the birth chart something always goes wrong, but I would request you to please not jump to conclusions. People have different results during such transits and the skills required are also difficult to acquire. Thanks, Ravi....

I am sure that you can, your 7th lord Sani is in the 12th house, the house of foreign settlement, Ketu in the 9th house the house of short journeys to foreign lands. During Ketu's mahadasha or antar-dahsa you should be able to go abroad. Let us pray that things go the way you want them to. Hello Audacrs, I am still learning the finer points of astrolgy and this has been going on since 1995 when I had just finished my class 12. Books are good but many of them do not have birth charts to suport their predictions solidly. Magazines are also a good ref point, so they in my opinion are better. Internet does not have that many great sites, but in recent times there has been an increase in astro- related sites and articles, so hope that it goes on getting better and better. I am right now focusing on another important branch of astro which is called the Krishnamurti Paddhati or the KP system. It is much easier to learn and does not have much theory almost none. It is used for predicting timing of particular events in one's life and many people are adopting it. Here it is / Another key aspect is the study of D charts ie divisional charts. Your 3rd house (the house of entrepreneurship) lord Venus is in the 1st house with 2nd house lord (the house of income), you might be thinking of doing so. Your 7th house (the house of business and business partners) lord Sani is in the 12th house making it powerful. This might give you some chane but this is still a tricky issue. You can have your wife as your partner in terms of some legal issues, if you are already married. You have some good education yogas, I believe that you were in the US for the PhD. Mars rules electronics and it is a very yog karaka in your kundli as per the reason mentioned earlier in my replies. Guru aspects the 4th house the house of higher education ie masters, phd etc. 4th lord is in the lagna and yog-karak for the Leo lagna like yourself. I am sure that you will be able to settle abroad for good the H1B will not hurt you much, but you never know. I have the feeling that the foreign job and settlement will take place during the Ketu mahadasha after 2011. But you can be there in the US working even tomorrow morning, I am not God. Rahu and Moon together in the same house without the good aspect of Guru on both of them is not a welcome sign, but I have seen people studying a very interesting things particularly in micro-biology or physics and some branches of extreme science. They also become scientists and researches of some sort. But one has to be very careful with this combination as it can hurt you a lot mentally and can make you behave like a child sometimes. Hi, It lasts 10 years, its effects depend on the house it lords over and the aspects of other planets on it.

You have Leo lagna meaning that the lagna lord Sun, 4th and 9th lord Mars and to some extent Jupiter the lord of 5th and 8th houses together become the benefic planets for your lagna as per old books on astrology. Sun is a very important planet being the lagna lord as you know, it is in the 12th house and at 18 degrees this is good, I personally believe that whenever a planet goes into the 12th house it becomes very strong. Even though many will not believe so. Saturn is also in the 12th house with the Sun within 6 degrees at 13 degrees and the Sun is at 18 degrees as I mentioned earlier, this is not good in any sense, Sun and Saturn as you know are enemies despite being father and son as per astrology principles. Be very careful when it comes to spending and lending money to others, no matter who they are. Both Merucry and Venus (being a malefic planet for the Leo lagna and same goes for Venus) in the 1st house are not a good sign. Although both of them are accompanied by Mars in the lagna and Mars is a benefic planet for you being the lord of 2 good houses namely the 4th and 9th. Mars is yog karaka here but the presence of Mercury and Venus spoil the game for you. Moon is outside the axis of both Rahu and Ketu thus avoiding a major problem called the Kalsarpa yoga plus you have Jupiter in the kendra meaning in the 10th house. Hi, Generally speaking, combust planets lose their effects, if they are malefic then they lose their bad effects, which lessens the pain for the native and if they are benefic then they lose their good effects which does not give the native the full power of the planet or planets in question. The good or bad effects of malefic or benefic planets are lessened to an extent but not wiped out completely. During the dasha, antar-daha and pratyantar-dasha one has to go through the pains or gains of the concerned planets. Ravi

Very good and logical analysis, well done, if you work hard you will get a better understanding of the finer points of the astro system. I am also a self taught but I listen to everyone and make my own judgements based on my own personal experiences of life, this helps a great deal in deciding the exact effects of a malefic or benefic planet. Although as the original poster has clarified that you have made a mistake in putting the data into the horoscope making software, the analysis for the horoscope generated by mistake ie of Taurus lagna is quite good.
