1. and this is the reason I have always felt a bit uncomfortable with t-shirts etc with Prabhupada's or Lord Krsna's image. On one hand, it is a great way for everyone to see Them but then there is so danger of so many offenses.
2. I have had two dreams of Srila Prabhupada and they are as clear to me today as they were the morning after. Dreams of Guru and Krishna are not like any other dreams. I hold the dreams that I had of Prabhupada very dearly and treasure them deeply. I am containing myself here - I tend to become very animated and will go on and on about the dreams of Srila Prabhupada! I have also experienced the facial expression changes in deities and I know of devotees that have told me of having the same experience. Why not? These are not "statues"! The deities are non-different, right? So, the same paragraph touched me also, about Srila Prabhupada's murti being non-different from His flesh body.
3. how interesting! Please tell me how you came to this revelation.
4. Is this predicted in the vedas? Show me where so I can read more about this great revelation.
5. I am not vegan but I do not use silk products because of what I have read about the silk farms. Makes me think of the inhumane treatment of cattle. Also, I do not condone the use of pearls (not that I can afford them!!)
6. PRABHUPADA: The change is taking place in this material world. There all tastes are fixed up, rasa, eternal, eternal rasa. Every one of us has a different taste of associating with Krishna, and that will be realised when one is liberated. HANSADUTTA: So that's fixed already. PRABHUPADA: Yes. When you are liberated, you will understand in which way you are related with Krishna. That is called svarupa-siddhi. But that is attained when you are actually perfect in devotional service. Just like in our family we enjoy different rasas. We have got one kind of relationship with wife, one kind of relationship with sons and daughters, one kind of relationship with friends, one kind of relationship with servants, one kind of relationship with property. So similarly, Krishna... The whole creation is His family, and He has got relationship in that way. So why the son will change his relationship into husband and wife? HANSADUTTA: I see. PRABHUPADA: Yes. Because every relationship is very palatable. The gentleman, the head of the family, his relationship with wife and his relationship with servant is as much palatable. There is no question of changing. Not that "I am tasting this rasa at the present moment. Then I will get better rasas." No. That is not... Everyone thinks, "My rasais the best." Although there is comparative gradation, but everyone thinks. These things are explained in Chaitanya-charitamrita. Why don't you see? HANSADUTTA: And Nectar of Devotion. PRABHUPADA: Yes. Everyone thinks, "My relationship with Krishna is the best." HANSADUTTA: So it's not a matter of aspiring to some-- PRABHUPADA: No, there is no question of aspiring, because he is already situated in the best of relationships with Krishna. Even the trees in Vrindaban, they want to serve Krishna silently in that way, supplying fruits and flowers. That is their ananda. Everyone enjoying the supreme bliss. When Krishna comes, takes a flower or fruit, that is their enjoyment. (Srimad-Bhagavatam lecture, 10 February 1971, Gorakhpur)
7. Are you sure you have the Vicco product? I do not see these items listed on my bottle.
8. I found the part where they talk of Krishna and they are extremely confused. They even say that December 25 is the birthday (?) of Lord Krsna!!!
9. that Krishna was crucified? So much misinformation on the web in the guise of expertise!! It is amazing!!
10. Chocolate can be very addictive too. Too much attachment.
11. Sometimes I am very focused and attentive but then there are times when I am not even realizing that I am in the room - like you said "asleep in our sadhana." One day I was particularly distracted by mundane problems etc and totally "asleep". I snapped out of it when this image came into my head of Lord Krsna walking out of the deity and leaving!!! I was so ashamed of myself and realized just how fallen I had become. I began wondering then if it would be less offensive when we are so distracted to not go before the deities and go through the motions. But then I also wonder if that is the time to go and work harder to focus and fix ourselves on the Lord.
12. I have not read through this site yet but I thought it looked interesting and informative. Guide to Understanding Islam
13. that Islam means submission. That Islam is not a religion but a way of living your life.
14. thought provoking questions!! Not sure if I totally understand the question and I am certain that I would not be able to properly answer but if one is sincerely performing loving service to an authorized representation of the Supreme Lord then the Lord reveals Himself to the devotee in this form. However, if someone only sees the form as wood, plaster, or some other material substance and goes through the motions of service without sincerity in the heart then wouldn't that be just idol worship? The Lord would not reveal Himself in that case.
15. Yes, chocolate contains caffeine. Acts like a speed type drug on me - I bounce off the walls and my heart goes 100 miles an hour. Not a very pleasant experience. Causes too much of a disturbance on the mind. Carob is indeed the best thing to use if you desire that taste without the side effects.

18. the other day in this thread Two Regulative Principles
19. Cc Madhya 1.41 The Laghu-bhagavatamrta is divided into two parts. The first is called "The Nectar of Krsna" and the second "The Nectar of Devotional Service." The importance of Vedic evidence is stressed in the first part, and this is followed by a description of the original form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead as Sri Krsna and descriptions of His pastimes and expansions in svamsa (personal forms) and vibhinnamsa. According to different absorptions, the incarnations are called avesaa and tad-ekatma. The first incarnation is divided into three purusavataras--namely, Maha-Visnuu, Garbhodakasayi Visnu and Ksirodakasayi Visnu. Then there are the three incarnations of the modes of nature--namely, Brahma, Visnu and Mahesvara (Siva). All the paraphernalia used in the service of the Lord is transcendental, beyond the three qualities of this material world. There is also a description of twenty-five lila-avataras, namely Catuh-sana (the Kumaras), Narada, Varaha, Matsya, Yajna, Nara-narayana Rsi, Kapila, Dattatreya, Hayagriva, Hamsa, Prsnigarbha, Rsabha, Prthu, Nrsimha, Kurma, Dhanvantari, Mohini, Vamana, Parasurama, Dasarathi, Krsna-dvaipayana, Balarama, Vasudeva, Buddha and Kalki . There are also fourteen incarnations of Manu: Yajna, Vibhu, Satyasena, Hari, Vaikuntha, Ajita, Vamana, Sarvabhauma, Rsabha, Visvaksena, Dharmasetu, Sudhama, Yogesvara and Brhadbhanu. There are also four incarnations for the four yugas, and their colors are described as white, red, blackish and black (sometimes yellow, as in the case of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu). There are different types of millenniums and incarnations for those millenniums. The categories called avesa, prabhava, vaibhava and para constitute different situations for the different incarnations. According to specific pastimes, the names are spiritually empowered. There are also descriptions of the difference between the powerful and the power, and the inconceivable activities of the Supreme Lord. Sri Krsna is the original Supreme Personality of Godhead, and no one is greater than Him. He is the source of all incarnations. In the Laghu-bhagavatamrta there are descriptions of His partial incarnations, a description of the impersonal Brahman effulgence (actually the bodily effulgence of Sri Krsna), the superexcellence of Sri Krsna's pastimes as an ordinary human being with two hands and so forth. There is nothing to compare with the two-armed form of the Lord. In the spiritual world (vaikuthha-jagat) there is no distinction between the owner of the body and the body itself. In the material world the owner of the body is called the soul, and the body is called a material manifestation. In the Vaikuthha world, however, there is no such distinction. Lord Sri Krsna is unborn, and His appearance as an incarnation is perpetual. Krsna's pastimes are divided into two parts--manifest and unmanifest. For example, when Krsna takes His birth within this material world, His pastimes are considered to be manifest. However, when He disappears, one should not think that He is finished, for His pastimes are going on in an unmanifest form. Varieties of humors, however, are enjoyed by the devotees and Lord Krsna during His manifest pastimes. After all, His pastimes in Mathura, Vrndavana and Dvaraka are eternal and are going on perpetually somewhere in some part of the universe.
20. SB 1.3.25 - Thereafter, at the conjunction of two yugas, the Lord of the creation will take His birth as the Kalki incarnation and become the son of Visnu Yasa. At this time the rulers of the earth will have degenerated into plunderers. PURPORT Here is another foretelling of the advent of Lord Kalki, the incarnation of Godhead. He is to appear at the conjunction of the two yugas, namely at the end of Kali-yuga and the beginning of Satya-yuga. The cycle of the four yugas, namely Satya, Treta, Dvapara and Kali, rotates like the calendar months. The present Kali-yuga lasts 432,000 years, out of which we have passed only 5,000 years after the Battle of Kuruksetra and the end of the regime of King Pariksit. So there are 427,000 years balance yet to be finished. Therefore at the end of this period, the incarnation of Kalki will take place, as foretold in the Srimad-Bhagavatam. The name of His father, Visnu Yasa, a learned brahmana, and the village Sambhala are also mentioned. As above mentioned, all these foretellings will prove to be factual in chronological order. That is the authority of Srimad-Bhagavatam.
21. looted and burned today. He either has made it to Syria or he is one of the next for us to get. He is a pathetic but entertaining character.
22. "One should simply follow the instructions of the Lord and His empowered servants. Their instructions are all good for us, and any intelligent person will perform them as instructed. However, one should guard against trying to imitate their actions. One should not try to drink the ocean of poison in imitation of Lord Siva." (Bhag. 10.33.30)
23. Someone with the funds to do these things will do it first. Anyway, I have heard nothing about Baghdad Bob at all. I am sure if it was true - we would have heard it about 50 thousand times today already.
