"always be present before the husband in a happy and joyous mood." wow, always in a good mood for their husbands? what if the husband makes the wife mad and breaks the good mood??? what then? i dont not understand why a wife cannot laugh without while their husband is away? what is the reasoning behind that? just wondering.

as with all things, happiness and despair come in cycles. the only advice i can give you right now is just look for the light at the end of the tunnel. I know that you may feel the despair growing more and more, but, that is when you need to stand tall and be strong. do not let bad fortune hurt you relationship with bhagavan. if anything, it should make it stronger. i did not go through the same thing that you are going through, but, i have been fighting with depression for many years. at the worse point of it all, i gave up on bhagavan. now, i regret that decision. dont make the same decision that i made. if anything, bhagavan will show you the way. if not today then tomorrow. best wishes trupti

i always , always ask, "HOW COME NO ONE NOTICED A PLANE CHANGE ITS COURSE SO DRASTICALLY!!!! come on...a comeplete 180. no one noticed.. it smells fishy and terrible things have happend. i am cncerned about what our country is coming to. more importantly, this guy, bush, wants more money, and our economy is sooo bad!god only knows what will happen next

a homeless and lowest of hindus, although poor with nothing of their own, still maintains a level of hygiene. for instance, a hindu will, if it come down to it, bathe in a nearby river. take care of themselves as best as they can. now, compare, american homeless, they reak of digusting odor. they do not even repect themselves enough to take proper care of themeselves. how embarrassing it that? in my business, i have dealt with poor americans. not poor because to disagreeable situations, poor because of mere laziness. i have had to call these people at their homes, "are you coming to work today?" they responded by, " oh, we overslept, we willbe there in 10 minuets." ten minutes lateer, sure they show up. but, unbathed. this person was wearing a ripped up t-shirt hanging off of his shoulder and jeans in the same condition. the walk in with no shame, they dont even respect themselves!!! would a hindu person act with such behavior? our religious books teach us to wake up early in the morning take proper care of ourselves and start the day. that is what hindu is has done for india. it gives our people enough sense and dignity to take proper care of ourselves no matter of what situation is bestowed upon us by God. compare poor mexican living in the united states, they also respect themselves. i have some mexicans working for me too and i will tell you one thing the difference between mexicans and americans is 10 fold! they come properly dressed to work they have showered and also, brushed their teeth! what has christianity done for america? please answer i am interested in what kind of response you will give me!

god i hated pep rallies..... it was a friday, and we were going out of town on friday afternoon. my dad was like we will wait till you get out of school and them we will leave. i was like " daddy, its ok, we have a pep rally that day, so ill just skip the entire 8th period, i will not miss anything." daddy was like "ok". the following monday, iwas was called out of class and was reported to the principals office. the entire time i ws shaking my head. i told him, if you dont trust me, call my dad right now! he will tell you the same thing we went out of town that is why i skipped. i never in four years of high school ever -ever skipped. all the other kids skipped all the time, i never saw them going to the office. uhg, i hated high school...

you can pray anywhere you want. you can pray in class, who is going to know??? only you and bhaghvan. that is it. i dont beleive in prayer in school at all. no religion should be taught in school. the more secular the better. i know for sure, that when i have kids, they should not have to hear christian prayer, or any other prayer that is not what they beleive. i dont wanna hear it - period. if you want to pray no one has to know about it. you can do it in middle of a test, in middle of lecture, in middle of the lunch line-where ever! it does not have to be announced or a time does not have to be set aside. when ever you want to pray you can. it does not just go for us, it goes for all the religions. say your lords name in your heart, taht is all that matters!

i am a very fair person. If you dont mess with me, i wont mess with you. i high school we were studying the religions of the world and i picked hiduism. i thought that it would be an easy project to do because i knew all of the points that needed to be included in the project. On of the requirements of the project was to bring a symbol of the religion your project was based on. i pick the gita. i remember, when i was presenting my project to the rest of the class in the back of the classroom there were these "redneck hicks" laughing and goofing off. i took offense to that immediately. theses guys allllllwwwwaaaayyyssss picked on me. when it was time to show the symbol of the religion, the gita in may case, i refused to do so. They would go through the book and just make fun of the pictures in it. i just did not have the strength to go through that. i dont mind if they make fun of me, but make fun of my god- & b*tch, f&^k you,its on! it shows the overwhelming amount of disrespect that goes through these people. (sorry for the profanity) here is one more story...... I was the only indian in that school and everything i did was something they would make fun of me for. one day they all started harrassing me just because i was a vegetarian! for crying out loud, who was i hurting??? why dont you eat meat, they asked. I repleied, we donot beleive in killing animals. well, when you pick potatoes out of the ground, you are killing the plant!!! Ridiculous response emerged from the group of people i hated. there was nothing i could do. i have so many stories like that. coming here to this forum, you think, we would not have to worry about those things, but, i guess, we will always have to be the bigger people.

Goodness. I have had enough with bush. You know i am from texas and i do not like him at all. I dont know if you have not noticed, but the man does not do speeches well. i dont know how someone with his creditials can become president. He smoked so much crack in the 70s that is probably why he can not talk without slurring his words. Our economy sucks and just yesterday, on Sunday for that matter, comes on tv and says, "by the way, i need some more money for this war". He did not even come prepared, he did not even fully explain what this money is for. When i need money and i ask my parents they are like, ummm welll what is it for, how much, why? Dont we have the right to ask these questions when he is asking for so much money. and now, this new war on iraq. He tries his hardest to make a connection b/w al queda and iraq, but now matter how hard he trys, he fails to show a connection. I just hope that we do not have to face another four years of goerge bush, unfortunatley, it seems as though we may. There are not any strong leaders taht oppose him. he will win. /images/graemlins/frown.gif i know this is a little off topic, but...Has anyone watch the osbournes on mtv? do you see the shape of ozzie? when i am surfing the channels and there is only that on tv, it is so funny to see his behavior. It is insane. thaat is what drugs do to you. i think i will tape the show and when it comes time when i have children and need to teach/explain the evils of drugs, show them the tape of ozzie, ifyou do drugs, this will happen to you, or you may, to a lesser degree, end up like george bush. Well for starters, no one invited you in this conversation. It was a very pleasant conversation regarding Hindu marriage ceremonies. Now, if you cannot comprehend where your comments are welcome, then, sorry to say, but THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM, not us "Hare Krishna and Hindu people". I know this observation may come as a shock for you. Also, this is a Hindu forum, so, we are allowed to quote from our relgious books. This is not a classroom nor is it a session of Congress where comments of religion are not welcome(but somehow, you people seem to sneak it in, forgetting your own laws of separation of church and state). Therefore, our beliefs and philosophies are welcome here without fear of humility. Don't think I dont know how christians look upon us!! (i believe the term is "ungodly savages") I have been in the company of christians my entire life. YOu christians are far from saintly. YOu cannot even simply follow one of Jesus' main points-Tolerence. I know you Christians believe that you have the right to spread your words where ever or to whom ever you want, neglecting a peoples right to choose which relgion or no religion they practice. I believe that this would be a form of non-Tolerence. If there is anything you can learn from Hinduism ( the oldest religion in the world to date, or in your words "an epic religion") that we do not press or force people to join our religion. Nor do we visit slums and pay a families out of poverty if only they change their religious prefrences. Wow the tolerence there is just unbounding(sarcasam, if you ae unable it pick it up). There have been many many instances where christians have done terrible things "In the name of God". Wow more tolerence there(sarcasam, if you are unable it pick it up).nor do we go to war over religion. In fact, there has never been a hindu religious war (and please do not embarass yourself by saying the conflict b/w India and Pakistan is a religious quarrel, because, it is not. You seem as though you are a devout christian, fighting for your place just to pray. If there is one thing that Jesus' preached, it was tolerence. In my opinion, every christian out there now today fails miserablely living life without compassion and tolerence for others. For the record, Jesus would be very disappointed in the way you people have turned his name into what is now known as Christainity. i feel sorry for him. because if i was a marytr, i would not want followers like you! that is for certain.
