  1. Dear Learned Friends (especially those excellent astrologers out there), It is said that at first sight yogas for elightenment seem to indicate adversity. In the charts of spiritually orientated persons we often find indications of problems in mundane life. However, more often than not these problems have been the main source of spiritual wisdom. I invite you to share your knowledge on yogas that signify elightenment in the the astrological chart. I am sure there are hundreds of such yogas. If you can discuss ones that are not well understood I am sure this will benefit many astrology beginners like myself. Many thanks.

  3. Dear Deepa ji, I have learnt much from you. Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to provide a detailed analysis of the Ishata Devta. I am very grateful for your generosity and patience.
  4. Dear USR ji, Thank you for clarifying which Ishta Devata I should pray to. I was also reading the interesting dialogue you have been having with Deep ji regarding standing and sitting Lakshmi. I didn't know there was difference (I guess I still have a lot to learn about the amazing pantheon of Hindu deities . Fascinating, indeed.). Thanks for sharing that. HST108 (hasanthi)
  5. Dear USR ji, As the diety presiding over my birth star is Aditi, do you mean, I will get better results if I choose an aspect of the Divine Mother as my Ishta Devta? I would appreciate your thoughts on this. Many thanks.
  6. Dear Deepa Ji, Thanks very much for that additional informtion. I have also taken note of the mantra for Shri Rama.
  7. Deepa ji, Thank you so much for that detailed analysis and for generously sharing your knowledge. You are a lengend! You have cleared up a lot of questions. I have also taken note of the mantra to Lord Vishnu and do intend to use it. Could you also please elaborate in few words the concept of 'atmagati'? Many thanks.
  8. Deepa ji, thanks for clarifying this. In my chart the Ishta Devta and the AK appear to be the same which is Saturn. However you have said it is not possibble to take the same planet as Ishta and AK. So in my chart it is not very straight forward. I have read somewhere that you have to take the planet that is positioned in the house immediately before the house where the AK is in the Navamsha chart (not sure if you agree with this) In my case I have the Sun positioned there. So I am a bit confused as to which planet I need to take as my Ishat Devta. I would very much appreciate your further analysis on this. My birth details are: Feb 28, 1969; 2.42pm; Colombo Sri Lanka. Planetary positions in the Rashi and Navamsha are as follows: Planet / Asc Rashi Chart Navamsha Chart<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:" /><o:p></o:p> Ascendant à Gemini Taurus<o:p></o:p> Sun à Aquarius Aquarius<o:p></o:p> Moon à Cancer Cancer<o:p></o:p> Mercury à Capricorn Gemini<o:p></o:p> Venus à Pisces Pisces<o:p></o:p> Mars à Scorpion Virgo<o:p></o:p> Jupiter à Virgo Aries<o:p></o:p> Saturn à Pisces Pisces<o:p></o:p> Rahu à Pisces Virgo<o:p></o:p> Ketu à Virgo Pisces<o:p></o:p> <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place>Neptune</st1:place> à Scorpion Leo<o:p></o:p> Uranus à Virgo Pisces<o:p></o:p> Pluto à Virgo Capricorn Many thanks!
  9. Does any one know how to determine who your Ishta Devata is by studying the astrological chart??
  10. Dear RadheyRadhey, I am not at all offended. And there is no need for any apologies.... It is just that I find it truly liberating to see Devinity in All of Creation.
  11. Dear RadheyRadhey your devotion to Radharani is amirable:) ....... But when Divinity takes incarnation Divinity may not do so to a set of prescriptions /characteristics that we prescribe or feel that It must take. Dvinity will take incarnation as Divinity pleases. (I think it is somewhat arrogant to assume that we know exactly how Shakti will take form in each incarnation. That is beyond the comprehension of mere mortals. Shakti will play as She pleases!) Let me ask you....If Krishna's Radharani was any less beuatiful (physically)than you think she was, would you have loved her less? (I bet Krishna would not have had a problem loving her even if she was not beautiful physically.) Divinity is just IS. It is our limited minds that tend to categorise things as being beautiful or ugly etc, etc..... They are just labels.
  12. I agree with everyone here who said that having to pay $$$ for elightment is somehow doesn't sound right. Theist, thanks for you concern .....but I was never sold on the idea of getting diksha's for $10,000. I was only inquiring if anyone else here had firsthand experience of the Oneness University Dikshas.
  13. I was brought up as a buddhist (although I have no particular attachment to the religion) -- So I can tell you for sure that the cornerstone of buddhisum is Ahimsa. The original teachings of Buddha had nothing to do with martial arts. Martial arts came into existance in various parts of the world due to political and cultural influences. Buddhism may have complimented these martial arts as they require a level of mental discipline and Buddhism is able to offer that. However, I tend to agree with you that Buddhism didn't gain popularity in India as it did not have anything new to offer. Buddhism isn't all that different from the Jnana yogi path in Hinduism although there are subtle differences between the two.
  14. Suchandra Ji, Thanks for that very insightful explanation of the eighth house. I can certainly relate to some of the points that you hilighted such as going through a process of re-orientation and shedding away what is un-necessary. I have certainly been doing quite a bit of that during the last few years. You also pointed out the healing and regenerative powers associated with the house -- well, at the moment I am in the process of getting into a career related to healing (complimentary therapies). So your interpretation makes quite a lot of sense. Thanks.
  15. Hello, Has anyone had any diksha's from the Oneness University? I have friends who spent $10,000 to do their 21 day course. I am just curios to know if anyone else out there had this diksha experience and how effective it was? Just curious.
  16. The eighth house in the horoscope is supposed to be a rather tricky house to interpret. I have my Lagna lord (mercury) in the eighth house. Can anyone offer any insights? (My birth details:- 28/02/69; Time: 2.42pm; Place: Colombo, Sri Lanka) Many thanks.
  17. Thanks Baobabtree Ji.....I see that you got my point.
  18. When I mean to see divinity in "all".....it includes 'everyone', 'everywhere', and 'everything' in other words All of Creation. Let's not get caught up in semantics........Ultimately, Divinity goes beyond all names, forms, distinctions and concepts.

    Khodiyar Maa

Has anyone had any encounters or possessions with Khodiyar Maa? If you have, would love to hear about it.
  20. I am not arguing for or against this ongoing discussion ....... but I think, to judge the presence or absence of divinity based on the outer form is somewhat contrary to teachings of Krishna. When we become seduced by form we are only getting lost in the play of Maya all the more.....was it not in the Bagavad Gita that it is stated "when you see divinity in all then only you see trully?" Sorry, I don't mean to preach. I just love the wisdom and beauty of Krishna's teachings.
