I have not met him 'in person' Indu. I know he is real by the fruit in my life - unfortunately some on this forum think differently.

I have never been to India. And can't see myself getting there too soon, even though I have been asked to go. Maybe next birth!

I'm sure your guru is wonderful if a devout soul like you is his disciple ;)

I'd be just as upset with a 'straight parade' or a holiday for straight people to celebrate being straight.

I don't think I have ever met a straight person. (maybe I have not met a sadhu in person yet).

Surely you've met at least one heterosexual person! :eek2: Right?

  3.

I actually accept the notion of third gender, based on the fact that such a gender was created from the very beginning of time.

I have years of experiance as a civilian working with the military. The military is a large microcosm of the whole population. Therefore, the notion of "no gays in the military" is ludicrous, has no bearing on morale, fighting ability, etc. However, the reason that the military is taking a severe stand is not because of homosexuals in the military. Their stance is in response to the aggressive and pompous freaks that want their sexual perversion to be noted in a big way. The military KNOWS the contribution of homos who serve, because over 10% of those who fought WWII were gay, and we won that last righteous war in a big way. But morale is definitely hurt when some want rights that they do not deserve, because a hetero does not have the RIGHT to brag about his wife of the opposite gender and the missionary position they employ for their sexual activity. In fact, I fully support the military's stance on sexual harassment, and those who want to have open gay relationships in the military violate every sexual harassment law in regard to the effect on "third party". The result of sexual harassment is faulty performance and a hostile working environhment. If a gay person wants EQUAL rights, then they shoulod jkeep their sexual preference private just as the heteros are required to do. MPs bust strip bars and gay bars equally. I know many MPs, NIS, NIA, DIA and other investigastive agencies, and they never singled out gays, ever. Only perverts who chose to harm the military by engaging in sexual harassment, a criminal activity. Mere sexual preference is a protected class by law, but obscenity is a crime, hetero or homo not withstanding.

Bill Clinton is an idiot (and genocidal fascist, too, but thats another discussion). His "dont ask, dont tell" policy is the most ridiculous pandering to perverts ever by a sitting president (next to supporting Pol Pot just because he hated the Viet Cong). Dont ask dont tell has been the official policy of the defense department ever since Valley Forge where the Hessians huddled together to keep warm awaiting the red coats.

I agree. Homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to form romantic relationships in the military just as heterosexual men and women aren't allowed to form romantic relationships in the military. What they do outside of it is fine w/ me... but I don't think they should be able to do so inside (since that's the going rule).

scuse me, but you are speaking with people, not dictionaries. Im 57 years old, a graduate of the sixties and remember them quite well. Ive known some righteous gays in my day, the very best of folks who Id gladly go to the big war with. But they were righteous people, and their gay trim was inherant within themselves. They had no self esteem problems that made them go out and advertize themselves, nor did they have desire to have their sexual preference displayed anywhere other than with their partners in the privacy of their own intimacy.

Sorry... I thought you were talking about the gay community in general... not just some homosexuals who wish to display their sexual preference to the world and make what they do with their genitalia everybody's business. Those types also bother me. And, it's not an anti-gay thing... I'd be just as upset with a 'straight parade' or a holiday for straight people to celebrate being straight.

    TRANSLATION

Lord Brahmā, approaching the Lord, addressed Him thus: My Lord, please protect me from these sinful demons, who were created by me under Your order. They are infuriated by an appetite for sex and have come to attack me.

    PURPORT

It appears here that the homosexual appetite of males for each other is created in this episode of the creation of the demons by Brahmā. In other words, the homosexual appetite of a man for another man is demoniac and is not for any sane male in the ordinary course of life.

Please read more carefully. You are clearly ignoring what is being said especially in Prabhupada's purport.

Prabhupada's commentary on shastra isn't shastra... at least not for me. And... what about the ladies? Got any verses/commentary for them? So far, everything people are quoting is applying only to male homosexuality... what about lesbians? Is it okay to be a gay girl but not a gay guy? If so, why?

    OMG! You're right!

Just see how I am such a big non-sense.

Hopefully her mom has given her something to take with her. Maybe the milkmaids will make up for my impartiallity.

    OMG! OMG! OMG!

I'm a nervous wreck--always worrying about others even before I can get some maha.

    OMG! OMG! OMG! ...

What're we going to do if Her mom didn't pack Her lunch?! I'm sure She'll be devastated when She comes to the picnic and there's no grilled cheese left over! :crying2:

I am not arguing for or against this ongoing discussion ....... but I think, to judge the presence or absence of divinity based on the outer form is somewhat contrary to teachings of Krishna. When we become seduced by form we are only getting lost in the play of Maya all the more.....was it not in the Bagavad Gita that it is stated "when you see divinity in all then only you see trully?"

Sorry, I don't mean to preach. I just love the wisdom and beauty of Krishna's teachings.

Hey... if she claimed to be Sri Dhumavati Mahavidya or another goddess with a similar appearance, I wouldn't quibble over her appearance. But, she claims to be Srimati Radharani, and Srimati Radharani is described as having a certain form and characteristics by which we can recognize Her, one of them being unsurpassed beauty (both physically and inwardly).

Not to say that Dhumavati Mahavidya is any less a form of divinity, but She is described as being ancient and emaciated (kind of like Vasantha Sai), while Radharani is described as having a moon-like face, skin like gold, eyes like lotus petals, lips like bilva fruits, and beautiful limbs (unlike Vasantha Sai). So, maybe she should claim to be another form of divinity that isn't described as being unsurpassingly beautiful... then I won't quibble over her appearance. ;)

I know have to learn this lesson Radhey....its the human condition isnt it? Something we all have in common.

We are all trapped in Samsara, and without loving and understanding both our brothers and sisters and God, we'll never leave it.

All these Rakshakas etc....where did they eminate from? Where did all these manifestations come from? Was it from Brahma's mind?

    Just wondering.

What a good point... I'd never thought of it that way before.

My dear mind, you have embraced the path of self realization, yet you foolishly think that you are cleansing yourself by bathing in the pretentiously fierce qualities of deceit and fault-finding, which are compared to impure donkey urine. Factually, you are incinerating yourself and dragging an infinitesimal spirit soul like me into the conflagration. Stop this suicidal course! Dive into the immortal ocean of sublime ambrosia that awaits you in loving devotional service at the lotus feet of Shri-Shri Radha and Krishna. Resuscitate my very being and thus give both of us endless happiness.

Thank you for this lovely verse, Bija Prabhu. I think many people could take a lesson from it.

  10.

    Nonsense!

How so?! It says the rakshasas wanted to attack Brahma Dev and then have sex with him... that'd classify as rape in my book. I'm sorry that I don't interpret a verse talking about homosexual rape at the beginning of a world age as an attack on all homosexuality (since I know it's the only verse you guys have from shastra to back up your anti-homosexual bias).

Here is the picture of her murti from a Kali Mandir in Canada :)

I couldn't find any pictures of her online, beside from the mandir.

Thank you! She's rather lovely :)

She actually looks a lot like my Ishta-Devi, Srimati Radharani, in Her deity form. Not surprisng, though. To me, all the Devis are incarnations of Srimati Radharani :)

Is this true Mahak, they are prevented from visiting intensive care wards?

If so the great U.S. is more screwed than I thought it was. The great democracy that prosleytizes freedom and condemns those oppossed to democracy? Killings and war...for freedom...

Strange old world - keeps turning on the wheels of ignorance!

Yes, it is. And people are so held back by their prejudices that they don't care.

I've pointed this out before, but the verse is clearly talking about homosexual RAPE, not consensual homosexual acts between two consenting adults. There's a huge difference.

  14. I know, Indulekha Ji. I'm guessing Vasantha thinks rather highly of herself if she thinks her beauty can even hold a candle to the beauty of Srimati Radharani. She's such a fool, leading people from chanting the names of Sri Sri Radha-Krishna to chanting her name and the name of her magician guru. :mad2:

  15.

Looks like the news media is propagating this movement but as pointed out below, facts are censored.

"We usually never read that, "Spousal violence was twice as common among homosexual couples compared to heterosexual couples. Fifteen percent of gay and lesbian relationships experienced violence." (Statistics Canada, Oct 2006)

This is because they want the homosexual "lifestyle alternative" to appear as attractive as possible. Homosexuality is the inability to form a permanent bond with a member of the opposite sex due to gender identity confusion. The goal of social engineers is to spread this form of arrested development to society at large.

Also, social engineers want homosexuals to have the glamor of being "victims" of straight violence.

In her excellent "Crafting Gay Bisexual Children" (p. 291) Judith Reisman cites gay authors David Island and Patrick Latellier who estimate 650,000 gay men are battered by a partner every year. They estimate the rate of gay-on-gay violence is three times straight-on-gay intimidations or assaults. They estimate 20% of gay relationships are poisoned by domestic violence." ("Men Who Beat the Men Who Love Them")

I guess you don't have many gay friends, since I can assure you that there are many people who are friendly toward me, both male and female, who are homosexual and would never even hurt a fly. Don't paint all homosexuals with one brush. You're a follower of ISKCON... you know how wrong the media can be about a group and you know how hurtful it can be. Maybe you need to think before you type.

Oh... and, by the way, you didn't answer the question as to why a secular government (as we have in the U.S.) should have to listen to nosy people's religious views when it comes to two consensual adults getting married.
