This is the purpose of this Ajamila upakhyana. Ayam hi krta-nirvesah. Nirvesa means atonement. If you commit some sin, then you should atone for it. Otherwise you have to carry the reaction of your sinful life to the next life. Therefore, according to the Vedic system, there is prayascitta. So prayascitta, that is also very heavy task. In this age nobody can perform prayascitta. And even one is able to perform prayascitta, then he..., there is possibility of again falling down unless one is clear consciousness, and that, Krsna consciousness. Unless one is Krsna conscious, there is every chance of falling down.

We often feel wronged by others in this world and they by us. We hang onto to the resulting feelings of separation and this becomes a stumbling block in our spiritual practice.

Forgiveness is the key to freedom. Christ taught his followers to pray to the Lord that He forgive us ASwe forgive us.

It stands to reason that we forgive as we have been forgiven.

Often I have heard the quote of BR Sridhar Maharaja that "the environment is friendly". This says to me that one who has the vision that Krsna is really in control doesn't develop resentment in the first place as he knows who the true Actor really is. Even if the desires of the materialist is to greatly offend or harm the great soul he sees Krsna behind even that if it plays out.

Like Christ praying "Father forgive them. They know not what they do." even as he hung on cross. He lived in the consciousness always that allowed him to for(fore)give.

Krsna consciousness is the only place of safety. No petty resentments can lodge themselves in the heart of the Krsna conscious soul.
