Q & A: The immovable soul?

In the Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2 verse 24, said that the soul is inmovable, could you please explain what that means?

[Answer by Hridayananda das Goswami]

The soul cannot be moved from the spiritual space which it eternally occupies. The soul is in the material world, but is never moved from its eternal spiritual position.

Srila Cakravartipada, while commenting this sloka says:

"The words stanuh (fixed) and acalah (immovable) have been repeated in order to give a clear conception of the stable nature of the jivatma, he is called avikaryah (immutable) because he is free from the six types of transformations, such as birth and duration of existence.

"The word sarva-gatah (all-pervasive, or present everywhere) indicates that due to his own actions the jiva transmigrates through all species of life such as devas, human beings, animals and birds. "
